Artificer Pulizzi may be found at -1365, 785 (southwest part of the zone's middle section).
You say, 'Hail, Artificer Pulizzi' Artificer Pulizzi has a dour look about him. He is fiddling with a small chunk of hardened clay and does not even look up from it as he addresses you, 'Have you heard, ______? They run amuck in the Reliquary now. Smashing and destroying the very temple they were created to protect. The mere thought of it makes my blood boil. The [beasts] . . .' You say, 'What beasts?' Artificer Pulizzi says 'Why, the statues, of course! They've gone mad, no doubt due to the nature of Solusek Ro's magic that displaced the Reliquary. Rumor has it that the statues are openly aggressive toward any outsiders that enter Ashengate. They must be dealt with, even if that means destroying them. Perhaps you could [lend a hand] in eliminating the statues? You'd be doing a great service for our cause.' You say, 'I will lend a hand.' Artificer Pulizzi says 'I've heard good things about you. If anyone can slip past Dyn`leth's defenses and tackle this task it's you. Keep your wits about you, friend. These monolithic monstrosities will be useless at best . . . and deadly hostile at worst.' You have been assigned the task 'Slicing Clay'. The west wing of Ashengate is overrun with ancient statues. Originally, their roles were as servants, guardians, or protectors of the temple. Now they are openly hostile towards all outsiders. Pulizzi has suggested that you begin making the Reliquary of Scale safer for all by eliminating some of the chaotic clay guardians within. Eliminate 8 Chaotic Clay Guardians 0/8 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale) These can be found in the zone's west wing. Destroy the Argil Oppressor 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale) Speak to Artificer Pulizi 0/1 (Sunderock Springs) You say, 'Hail, Artificer Pulizzi' The clay guardians have been effectively decommissioned. Ashengate is a little safer, thanks to you. Artificer Pulizzi says 'Thank you very much for your assistance ____. It is unusual to find someone so willing to [lend a hand] in these turbulent times.' Your faction standing with Scholars of Solusek got better. You gain experience!! This is the lead-in to the task "A Brim Task". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The best time to get and do this quest is when you are yourself or helping guildmates get the 30AC 60HP aug that drops as common from Argil Opressor. Since you will be there anyway, just pick up this quest on your way to Ashengate and then stop by for the final quest step some other time that youre in the quest-givers' zone.

It is now 8 Chaotic Guardians...as of today 1/31/2007. Don't know exactly the change date.

the last step is to return to Pulizzi where you get a little xp and a positive faction hit to Scholars of Solusek. there are no negative hits.

He also gives you another quest in the series. I don't remember the name of it, but you get a golem control wand that you need to use to destroy 2 brimstone abhorrents. You also have to kill 1 Brimstone Juggernaut that spawns on the other side of the ramp from Opressor.
The 3rd quest in the series is "Dark Guardians of Ashengate" where you kill 10 Darkshard Guardians, Kill the Galvinized Guardian, and loot and return 1 Pulsing Obsidian Shard (Drops from Guardians) to Pulizzi. The guardians are in the west wing under the bridge where the fire elementals roams.
The top of the bridge is also where you spawn the spirit of the betrayed for the "Tears of Betrayed" quest from Lawwe in Cresent Reach.
