I killed what felt like a bajillion diamondback snakes thinking it just had to be a snake... in the mesa....
The mesa snakes are to the NE of the zone in from Blightfire, not to the NW with the bears and wolves you kill for the other hand in quests for Madu.

Scout Madu says 'It was the oddest thing. This fellow I don't know, one with the legs of a deer and the face of a human, stumbled into me the other day. And I mean stumbled literally. It seems that he had been very deep in his cups. He kept rambling on about his brother betraying him, but I never could get more out of him before he wandered off. How odd of him. Sorry, I do not know why you made me think of him, you obviously have your [wits] about you.' You say, 'I have my wits about me.' Scout Madu says 'Yes. Yes you do. If you would like to explore the area, I'm certain that Vulu over there has some work for you. But if you're looking for something more interesting than just wandering around, I might have some [tasks] that are a bit more dangerous that you could undertake for me.' You say, 'What tasks?' Scout Madu says 'I have many tasks available, but most of them require that you have much experience. When you think you are ready, come back to me and ask me about my more [difficult] tasks. In the meantime I have some tasks for ones with less experience, and I will even reward ones who help me with some [extra armor].' You say, 'What extra armor?' Scout Madu says 'I have extra armor that has been given to me for scouts of this region. If you wish, I can share some of this armor with you. I have armor that will cover your [forearms], [feet], [hands], [head], [arms], [legs], or [torso]. Which would you like to get? I will only give you one piece to fit each place on your body as we do not have an infinite amount of supplies, even with the supplies you will be getting me.' You say, 'Hands.' Scout Madu says 'The snakes in this region have proved a menace to our scouts. We have decided that we want to reduce their numbers slightly. Along the way you can collect some supplies we need.' If you have something like the Extraplanar Trade Satchel your snake eggs may be hiding there.
As I mentioned under the Arms quest, the drop rate of items seems to be relevant to whether or not you have the quest. For the arms, it took forever to get the snake fangs all the time the large snake fangs were dropping regularly. When I started the hands quest, the large fangs were AWOL now. After leveling from 44-45 completing the quest, I proceeded to keep killing the snakes as I like a cushion into a new level before going someplace new. Low and behold, without having a quest requiring the fangs they both were dropping on a regular basis.... Random is one thing, but this was far and away from being random. Conspiracy Theory, I'm hooked after this day....

You need to kill 15 mesa Snakes, light blue to green at 54. Then loot 1 Snake egg, 3 Snake Skins and 5 snake fangs, and return them to Scout Madu.
The Snakes have a pretty rough Poison DOT on them, doing 150 points a tick, but one round of cure poison cures it straight away.

Actually it's LARGE snake fangs, regular fangs won't work. Otherwise, completely correct.
