This solo task begins with a Gnoll named Toegnasher (in the Gnoll camp in the vicinity of 675, 75 (on the west side of the pathway's north tip).
Before starting the quest, be sure to buy a Piece of Parchment available from many vendors, notably Researcher Kakra and Researcher Layla in Crescent Reach. You say, 'Hail, Toegnasher' Toegnasher says 'Everyone wants to know something. Bark! What do you want to know, Troll? I want to know something too. If you can you help me [find it], I might trade something for the information.' You say, 'I will help you find it' You have been assigned the task 'Book for Toegnasher'. Toegnasher says 'I'm looking for an old book. It says something about. . . about the past. You bring me the book and I'll give you something.' Toegnasher seems a bit sketchy about dealing with you. Perhaps it might improve his disposition if you found this book he speaks of. Toegnasher says there are four pages to this book. Find them. And give them to him. The 1st three steps of the task can be performed in any order.. Ancient Parchment [Part 1] is found as a ground spawn in random locations throughout the grove in the west-central part of the zone. Known locations: 107, 1213, -70 1157, 85, 208 1139, 93, -7 1165, 100 -544, 963 Ancient Parchment [Part 2] drops from hill giants in The Steppes Ancient Parchment [Part 3] drops off Nightmoon Kobolds in Icefall Glacier. (It's also a rare drop off the fire elemental Whiteflame in the eastern part of Valdeholm's frozen lake.) Once the first three pages are handed in... From looking at the three other pages, you think that the fourth was a picture of the rune on the stone at the center of the druid's circle. Take a rubbing of it, Toegnasher probably wont know if it's the real thing or not. Head just above the island in the water on the east side of the zone /loc 639.44, -1138.00, 160.06. Put your Piece of Parchment on your cursor and, facing the rues on the center stone, stand as close to the stone as you can, the quest should update. You receive Copy of Druidic Rune. Upon hand-in: Toegnasher seems pleased with the pages you gave to him. Reward(s): You gain experience! Toegnasher's Token | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

its called YOU GROUP for the item. liek the old days when ya wanted to kill a giant in vox lair etc.. just bevcuse the mob is higher levle than you and you cant solo it. doesnt mean the quest is stupid. at your level im sure you want the item, just get some peopel to gether and kill them obs needed..
So let me get this straight. In order to get your required level 53, recommended level 60 augment you have to kill a 71+ Mob? Ok, sure, that makes sense. I wonder why people get frustrated at the higher end game? I know I know, You should be in a high end raiding guild and you'll get better stuff than this, bla bla bla bla. Hmmm so Sony screws the casual player again. /rant off.

yes, it is really stupid. and what people who can solo this do? they take the reward and click the destroy button.

I found it at +209, +1139 so it is in the area in front of the bear cave but can be random location it looks like.

I did get a parchement from a kobold in Icefall; havn't had a chance to turn it in yet to see if it's a dupe of the one that Red Flame dropped, though.

the pages drop randomly off mobs in steppes. I have received 3 pages from various gnolls. It's amazing though how much sony wants you to go through for such a low end gimp aug. They seriously need to revamp these tasks and make them worth doing.
In this case I agree - odd that you can get a Mana Preserve 6 aug with Stats with loots from the exact same MoBs.
20/20/20 finger slot only? Only reasons I'm doing it are A.) why not do it if I get the drops anyways and B.)Maybe it opens another quest.

I saw no hint of a groundspawn at
"Found as a ground spawn at 190, 1154" nor at -190, 1154. Can't be reversed either since the zone isnt 1154 wide. What general area in the zone was this?
The described loc was quite close to the bear cave on the West side.

Page 3 dropped off Red Flame, named fire elemental in the Steppes.
Page 2 has dropped twice for me on the Hill giants in the Steppes.

This quest seems about right, and I love the fact that you need a group to do this at your level. This is how EQ used to be. If you want a more casual experience, go see every other MMO that is currently out there.
