This raid expedition begins with Trelsa McKindle in the Everfrost Peaks wayfarer camp.
You say, 'Hail, Trelsa McKindle'
Trelsa McKindle says 'Ever since I took me first steps in that icy kingdom, I thought I was seein' things, aye. Never in all me life have I crossed wit' such a motley bunch o' creatures. It was almost enough to warp me mind. The ab'rations, planar beasts and frosty creatures 'ave been the source of no end o' difficulties and problems for me, aye. Hmm, if ye could rally the call of yer friends ye might be able to help us wit' a serious [problem].'
You say, 'A problem?'
Trelsa McKindle says 'Ere's the long and short o' it. We have pinpointed the location o' the strongest magical emanations coming from the 'eart of Miragul's Menagerie. Rumor 'as it that the magic is sentient and has created a form for itself. We've named it the Synarcana. There's a better than good chance that the creature is part of Miragul 'imself, and possibly the force that keeps the menagerie alive. We are in desperate need o' your help to control the growing strength o' this presence. Are ye [interested]?'
You say, 'I'm interested'
Trelsa McKindle says 'Aye, that's the spirit, _____. The Wayfarer's Brotherhood is counting on ye. Beware the Synarcana!'
The direction to the entry to your instanced zone(s) have been marked on your compass.
The entrance is the shimmering portal in the tower.
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Miragul's Menagerie: Folly of Miragul's Ambition.
Most, if not all, mobs see invisibility. Nothing sees SOS.
This raid will need a rogue with SOS or an FD class with AAs to keep spells from interrupting FD.
There is a time limit of 3 hours from the point you receive the task to get everything done: You'll be given warnings about this.
Note: During this raid, an Extraplanar Fiend can spawn if you aren't continually on the move. You will get a total of three warning messages prior to him spawning, which happens one minute after the first message.
The air is filled with the sounds of crackling electricity and scent of burnt copper. Blue and white sparks spew from a shimmering crease in the floor that grows larger by the second. A rift to another plane of existence is opening.
The crease in the floor glows brightly and stretches wider. An ominous other-worldly voice whispers, "I have found you . . ."
Clawed hands reach through a shimmering portal in the floor and grasp ahold of the marble. A gargantuan fiend climbs into the room and spreads his crimson wings.
If he is about to spawn, move ahead/back if you can since he has a short aggro range and despawns quickly. It casts "Flames of the Fiend" and AE rampages.
On entering the second room, an ice goblin named Glim will spawn and lead you on. When you get close to him, he will run off and wait next to a hallway. Clear up to him.
DO NOT GO IN THE HALL. The mobs in the hall cannot be killed (at 80% health they respawn at full). These mobs do about the dmg of a named, only this hall is packed with them. This is where your FD/rogue comes in. This player needs to get down the hall (while dealing with traps) to a mob named "a Jeweled Sentinel". This mob is easier than normal mobs, and is alone in his room. Either pickpockets, or kill him. He drops 5x "Phasing Ruby". You need two. They are lore and temporary. Give two of them to Glim to despawn the unkillable mobs in the hall. Clear up to where Glim goes next.
From here, head south into the library where an echo of the main named spawns (The Synarcana). It has ~130,000 hps and is fairly weak. Again, clear up to Glim.
Your raid will now need to split into two groups: One to head north; one to head south:
Northern Group: This group must keep one Skeleton mob down at all times. This is imperative. You will not win unless this is done. (This is doable with an 80th level monk and a cleric.) Six skeletons spawn at a time. They are perma-rooted. The named in the room respawns often (Kiszchen the Mischief). Unless you can do a good 400k dmg in a matter of seconds, don't bother with him.
Southern Group: This group clears to the main chamber down the hall while the other group gets set up and starts killing skeletons. The named (The Synarcana) does not take damage, except from damage shields, while all six skeletons are up (no spells, no melee). Once it is engaged, it will spawn adds. These are worthwhile to kill as they damage the named. Named adds do 20% dmg to the named, and more than one named can be up at a time as long as you have 4+ people in her room.
