Frinkle Geerlok says 'No! You can't make me move closer to the [edge]!' You say, 'Move closer to the edge.' Frinkle Geerlok says 'What are you crazy? I might [fall]!' You say, 'Fall?' Frinkle Geerlok says 'If I fall, I will keep going and never [stop]!' You say, 'Never stop?' Frinkle Geerlok says 'Well, maybe if you get me a [few things] I will be able to keep myself from falling.' You say, 'What few things?' Frinkle Geerlok says 'Get me a Metal Rod, a High Quality Horse Skin, a Backpack Pattern and a Sewing Needle. Once you do, I will even tell you what I am making.' Hand in the items. Frinkle Geerlok says 'Great! With this I can make my own flotation device. You make it with two metal rods, Nantik's anti-gravity unit, treated aligned steel thread, sealant, high quality horse skin, backpack pattern, gnomish heat source, and infused dark matter. Don't forget to use a sewing needle. I also have a new device useful for making [flat wood].' This recipe creates a Geerlok Floatation Pack, rechargeable in a toolbox with Infused Dark Matter. You say, 'What about flat wood?' Frinkle Geerlok says 'To make this device you simply need a base prototype, 2 gears, 2 sprockets, gnomish bolts, belt of leathery fungus flesh, and a [laminator roller].' You say, 'Laminator roller?' [I don't even know 'er!] Frinkle Geerlok says 'To make a roller you simply need to pound a small brick of high quality steel into shape with a smithy hammer and quench it with water. Don't forget your [laminator blade].' You say, 'Laminator blade?' Frinkle Geerlok says 'To make your blade, melt your small brick of high quality steel into a thin blade mold, quench it with water and use your file to be sure it is sharp.' I checked "/out recipes tinkering" and "/out recipes blacksmithing" and this quest doesn't add them to your known recipes. It's only for lore information, which you can just read here. Don't waste a horse skin on this quest.

I did this quest as a 61 Druid, as far as I can tell it doesnt let you do any tinkering as the Geerlok Floatation device can only be made by gnomes and on the other tinkering recipe the base prototype can only be made by gnomes and is also no drop, looks like a quest for adding the recipes for gnomes that was mistakenly left somewhat open unless someone else can see something im missing .
Oh well hope my disapointment saves someone the time and plat wasted on this quest .

Actually this is an All Race quest. I guess Sony decided that gnomes shouldn't be the only ones who can tinker? Or maybe this is just a one time deal. Either way...good luck getting the horse skin.
