Norrath's Keepers: Rivals

It is a group mission (3-6 players) that begins with Gordish Frozenheart (click for map image) in the Norrath's Keepers camp of the Lavastorm Mountains. Pre-requisites for requesting: - Minimum Level 63 - Minimum "kindly" faction with Norrath's Keepers Hail him to get a quest selection window pop-up. You have been assigned the task 'Rivals'. A small group of unsavory types has entered the Nest seeking something. We have been unable to discover what they are after as our scout just returned. We know where they gained entrance, but you're going to be a few hours behind them. They may have met their death at the hands of the natives, but we want you to go in there and find whatever they were after and bring it back to me. If nothing else, they might have cleared the way a bit for you. Note: This group mission scales to your group's level. The highest is 68+, outlined here. 
Touch the portal to the Nest 0/1 (The Broodlands) The entrance is the dragon portal in the far northeastern part of the Broodlands. Follow the trail of your rivals 0/1 (The Nest) This task takes place in the northernmost wing of the zone (the dry/desert/sand area). This step updates automatically at the entrance to this wing. Find your rivals and what they seek 0/1 (The Nest) Head to the northernmost cavern of the desert wing where you'll find some NPCs in a standoff: Fahsheer Delure shouts, 'Ah, I see we have company. Perhaps you can break this standoff? Aid us against these beasts and I shall see that you are rewarded.' a goblin shouts, 'You no help thief and invader! Run away now. Save self. Master come soon, destroy intruders!' Fahsheer shouts, 'That decision is up to you, but how you could trust these monsters is unclear to me.' Gimblemort shouts at an approaching spider, 'Get back! I'll burn you to ash if you take one more creepy step towards me!' Fahsheer yells, 'Calm down everyone. We've kept them back so far. Be ready to execute plan B on my word.' A goblin yells, 'You no B plan! You stay 'til master arrives.' Attack the spiders and goblins, and you'll see: Fahsheer yells, 'Go now while they're distracted! I'll deal with the new folks.' Gimblemort shouts with glee, 'Yes! Burn you fuzzy-legged freaks!' Fahsheer Delure attacks you while the spiders, goblins, and other Dark Reign NPCs attack each other. Fahsheer Delure hits for a max ~900 and has ~40,000 hitpoints. Kill her, and loot "Ancient Tooth of Archanalia" from her corpse. The other Dark Reign members will be killed by the Nest locals. Deliver 1 Ancient Tooth of Archanalia to Gordish Frozenheart 0/1 (Lavastorm Mountains) Ah, you've returned. This is good news. We were worried about you. This is a very impressive tooth. It is obviously the tooth of a large dragon and will undoubtedly prove useful in our research. Rewards: Up to 41 Radiant Crystals (number varies according to group's level) 1x "Norrath's Keepers Token" (faction turn-in item) A Different (In)Completion In the tunnel preceding the end cavern of the desert wing is a drake named Silverclaw: You say, 'Hail, Silverclaw' Silverclaw says 'Well, these speak before attacking, that's new. I am wounded, that is certain, but I will fight you to my last breath if I must. I will live to recover [what has been taken]!' You say, 'What has been taken?' Silverclaw says 'Hah! Why should I trust you? You two-legged types have been in here killing what remain of my kind for a while. Why should I tell you anything? You will just kill me after I've given you the information you seek. Unless you [promise] me, in a very convincing manner, that you will not harm me, I will not speak to you further except to offer you a warning. Kill me before I recover what I have lost and I will use my last breath to curse you.' You say, 'I promise...' Silverclaw says 'Well, I see that I have little choice but to trust you. Another group of... miscreants was here a short while ago. They took something from me and fled. The only thing that kept me alive was my curse. I do indeed bear within me an ancient draconic power, one rarely seen these days and even less often in a mere dragon kin such as myself. It was because of this power and my love of history that earned me the right to bear the Tooth and become its guardian. I must have it [back]. Luckily those fools became lost during our fight and have attempted to escape in the wrong direction.' You say, 'What about when you get it back?' Silverclaw says 'As you can see, I am in no condition to battle those beasts again. I shall rest here until they find their way back and then attempt to destroy them.' Silverclaw looks thoughtful for a moment. 'Unless you could recover it for me. If you do, I will ensure that your passage out of this place is free of danger. Of course if you do not I shall endeavor to make leaving here as difficult as I can, and I can make that very difficult. Will you [return the Tooth] to me?' You say, 'I'll return the Tooth...' Silverclaw says 'Good. This is difficult for me to say, but good luck to you, _____. I have little left that was not taken by those you now seek, but I shall reward you with what I can upon the return of the great tooth.' Hand in the tooth to Silverclaw to spawn a chest: Silverclaw says 'You have brought it back! Wonderful! As I promised, you shall be able to leave this place unhindered. I also wish to reward you, but I do not know what creatures like you value. I do have this one small item that was dropped by those that stole the tooth, though. I also wish you to know about this [artifact] that you have returned to me.' You have failed your assigned task. Your shared task, 'Rivals [68+]', has ended. You say, 'What is this artifact?' Silverclaw says 'Archanalia was one of the first brood. He was held in high regard when this land was first hidden away from your kind. He was a great dragon known for his wisdom and biting sarcasm. His wit was legendary among our kind, as was his willingness to befriend his lesser kin. The idea of hiding this place was not one that he liked, for he enjoyed flying high above the world and watching it turn below him. He enjoyed interacting with two-legs, either by simply frightening them with his magnificence or by changing his form to pass among them. He knew that hiding the nest would mean seclusion within the mountains for an age or longer and the idea of it made him unhappy. Shall I [continue]?' You say, 'Continue' Silverclaw says 'Some others disliked the isolation as well, but their concern was about the loss of power and luxury. They did not want to surrender the lands to your people. The elders, however, agreed that the safety of the eggs was more important that any of these other concerns. It was decided that any wishing to live outside the nest would be sworn under magical oath to never reveal the location and even the purpose of this place. It fell upon Archanalia to perform this task, for he was trusted by most and had the power to make such magic binding on the minds of dragons. If you wish, I can tell you what happened [next].' You say, 'What happened next?' Silverclaw says 'Only the eldest dragons chose to remain behind. The younger ones wished to retain their place and power in the world. Some of those younger dragons were unwilling to have their memories altered and Archanalia was required to hunt them down and force their submission to the required magic or, in a very few cases, to destroy the rebel. When dealing with the last of these rebels, a very clever and powerful dragon despite his youth, Archanalia suffered a terrible festering wound. He returned to report success and to aid in creating the magic that would keep this place hidden. He lived many years after that, but his suffering was great. No one was able to cure his illness, not even Rikkukin. He died many decades ago. His body was eaten by the disease that infected him and the only thing untouched was one of his teeth. You have returned that tooth to me. As I promised, you shall remain safe while you leave, but you must hurry. I cannot promise safety here forever. Thank you and goodbye.' Here, you get something out of it, but you won't be able to actually complete the mission. After you speak to Silverclaw and promise to give back his tooth - which you dont do - you keep heading into the NE room where there are several spiders and goblins and couple of corrupted guards etc - you kill the spiders and goblins that have your "Rivals" surrounded and they aggro you and try to kill you. Fahsheer Delure and friends - kill them all and Fahsheer has the tooth you need that you turn into Gordish as the last step.

When you enter the N/E room, Melina Fairwinter says something about assisting them. The mobs surrounding them
are a Fireclaw Servant and Blackroot Spiders. There are 2 spiders and one goblin in front of Melina and two of her
friends, a gnome and dwarf. Further back along the wall are 3 other friends of Melina's. You can kill them in the
two sets, they are far enough apart not to aggro them all.
It must have been just the first run where they all mobbed. After killing all 6 rivals, you need to loot an Ancient
Tooth of Archanalia. After you loot the tooth the task will update. Then it's just a sprint back to zone in, then
through Broodlands back to Percolo for the turn in.
The regular mobs in the zone con light blue, the instanced mobs con green at level 85. So you will have both levels
to deal with. Sorry I can't be more specific to their levels, I just don't know. It is still ok xp with the light blue
mobs. You can invisi past some mobs but some will see you. It's a fairly fun and fast quest if you are grinding faction.
Plus, you can always turn the tooth over to Silverclaw for a change of pace. You may get a better item then I did.. or
not.

The first 3 steps on Kindacute's post are fairly accurate. Doing it on the Dark Reign side, one of the rivals asks for
help. However, I found the rivals in the cave with 2 glowing statues ( or furthest Northeast desert cave ). They are
surrounded by a couple of spiders and a fireclaw goblin. When you attack the mobs, surprise, you are also attacked by the
rivals you are rescuing. All well and good if you have the firepower to handle 6 rivals, 4 spiders, 2 goblins and any adds
from the room that may catch fight aggro.
Once killing the rival group, loot a tooth from one. You can then run back to zone point or you can talk to Silverclaw. I
talked with Silverclaw and gave him the tooth. He produces a chest you can loot and will tell you the tale of how the nest
came into being. However if you go this route, you will not get your token or crystals. If you ignore Silverclaw and run
back to Pericolo, you will get 43 ebon crystals and the dark reign token on giving her the tooth. I will post the name on
the tooth after the next run through. Oh and the chest drop was a blue diamond the one time I gave Silverclaw the tooth.

This task is also offered by Gordish Frozenheart for the Norrath Keepers .. min faction is kindly. Here are the first three task steps, I died on the third so couldn't get the fourth.
