This group monster mission begins with Oathmir the Outcast at the zone-in of the Devastation.

You say, 'Hail, Oathmir the Outcast'

Oathmir the Outcast looks you up and down, taking in your weapons and instinctively gauging your ability. He replies in a somber tone. 'Hello. You are different than the rest of us here. You have not come here from the wall. You have somehow come straight from the world.' The outcast slowly shakes his head. 'You should leave this place before its nature becomes your own. I don't believe that you want to become part of the cycle here. Anger released upon others returns tenfold to the giver, they say. I have been in [the wall] and I will go there again, though each time it takes me longer to return, longer to fight my way back. I have been cast from the cycle. I no longer have enough rage in my heart. I [feel disconnected] from Her and without my rage and my desire I have nothing.'

You say, 'What is the wall?'

Oathmir the Outcast says 'The wall is, well, it is what it is. Those that die here or in the world with enough anger in their hearts, or those that kill with that anger, come here when they die. We are drawn here, to Her. The wall is where we go. There we fight with each other to be reborn, pushing our way forward to the boundary. [She] only calls those near the edge to do battle unless, of course, [her rage] is so great that she calls one of her most powerful servants from deep in the wall.'

You say, 'Who is she?'

Oathmir the Outcast says 'She? Well, you wouldn't know, you don't really belong here. She is Sullon Zek. She rules here. This is her plane. We call it the Devastation, though I suppose it might be more properly called the Plane of Rage. Each of us that belong here is drawn to her. We know that those that are worthy, with enough rage, will and strength, may become her servants and be summoned into the tower. Look out over the fields here and know that each of the creatures here serves Sullon Zek and they all fight to be by her side. Legends tell of those that have become Vessels of Rage, such as Belfon the Vile, and have entered the tower. We all wish that. Or, we all did wish that when we arrived. I have [seen things] that have changed me, and I no longer feel the rage as I should.'

You say, 'Seen things?'

Oathmir the Outcast says 'Yes. This place and everything and being in it are hers, given to her in their rage or by the power of her father, Rallos. It is all touched by her and her essence is everywhere. Sometimes in the wall it is possible to remember things that are important to her. There was a time when I was near to becoming the Vessel of Rage. As I battled for position at the front of the wall so that I might be allowed a chance to return to the battle, I found a small tooth. It was the tooth of a wolf. I stopped my struggles and examined the thing as well as I could. Suddenly I knew the nature of the tooth and how it came to be there. I also experienced a memory, one of [Her memories].'

You say, 'Her memories?'

Oathmir the Outcast says 'She remembers every great battle ever fought in the world or the planes, but she does not remember them as you might. She remembers the feelings of the battles more than the form. Those emotions become the memory of the battle and, for her, are the battle. I once experienced one of those memories, a gift from her, no doubt. What I saw and felt, it turned me from the path of rage and now I am lost here, useless to Her and too worthless for the combatants to destroy. I can't shake the feeling that she sent that memory to me for a purpose, but I can not decipher the reason why. Perhaps, if She so desires, I can show a memory to you as well. I am willing to reach out to her on your behalf, if you are [ready] for such an experience.'

You say, 'I'm ready'

A window pops up with two monster missions available, one of which is "Cage Kerafyrm".

You have been assigned the task 'Cage Kerafyrm'.
The direction to the entry to your instanced zone(s) have been marked on your compass.

Someone must play Lord Yelinak. Optional characters are Hsagra, Klandicar, Zlandicar, Sontalak and Lady Nevederia.

You are feeling the memories of an ancient war rolling inside your head. You must relive them to be free of them.

Push your way into the wall 0/1 (The Devastation)

The zone-in to the instance is located nearby. Your compass will point you out to it.

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Eastern Wastes.

Speak with Grendor the Iceshaper 0/1 (Eastern Wastes)

Grendor is an ice dragon found at the zone-in of the instance. He cons KOS, but will not attack.

You say, 'Hail, Grendor the Iceshaper'

Grendor the Iceshaper says 'Ah, you have arrived! Just in time, I think. Those sent to collect Velium for our needs have not gathered enough. Our assaults on the various giants and Coldain have caused them to begin to retreat into the ground, as they tend to do. There may be a chance to gather enough if you can get to the giant fortress to the northwest before they get away with the last of their Velium. As you know, if we do not have enough Velium we will have difficulty defending this place from Kerafyrm's allies once we trap him here. If the task proves to be impossible, I have the power to return you to the place you came from. Just tell me if you want to [return home].'

Your task 'Cage Kerafyrm' has been updated.

Loot 4 Huge Blocks of Velium 0/4 (Eastern Wastes)

Loot 1 Gigantic Velium Crucible 0/1 (Eastern Wastes)

Grendor must have enough velium to begin his work. If this key element is missing there is no hope of defending the Tomb even if you do manage to trap Kerafyrm. They are evacuating their outposts in the wastes, including their store of velium. Get that velium and a large crucible to start the first batch.

Numerous giants can be found at the giant fort in the northern part of the zone.

This I think is one of the hardest MMs I have ever done. Most mms are really easy and its hard to fail them, but this one is pretty long and takes practice. First few steps are easy, clear out the giant fort, collect materials etc. Next you have to protect the warders on the way to the tomb, and you get ambushed by 8 (2 sets of 4) assassins, who can all whoop your *** if you try and fight them. They cast a 200ish range snare too, so the only way to deal with them is to get aggro and kite the rest of the misson, while at the same time making sure none of them attack the warders. Once the warders are at the tomb you are conviently informed Kerafyrm is running away and you have to run like the wind to catch him before your task terminates. I never got past this step, but it looks like it gets even more interesting, with kerafyrm teleporting around randomly and all.

Nice to see the bow ratio is at least semi decent for all the work involved in this task, but if you ask me it should be a little faster and the hp should be upped. Trust me when I say this missons hard.
Funny

Its funny to me, that of all the "helpfull" post's about how the best way to accomplish this task is, not a single dingle person posting mentions the reward for the task...
Kinda funny...

zone in, make sure you train any and all dps aa, since these dragons hit like the snow bunnies that inhabit this zone... every drag cept zlandicar gets chill wounds (heal) and every1 gets dragon fear, which is, simply aoe fear...

when you zone in, hail the ice dragon, who cons kos, but isnt... head NW to the giant fort and start pulling, dont bother trying to tank them down or split the pulls, just keep a steady fear chain on them and assist one at a time...

make sure you pull the captain in the left hut and the lord in the right hut, looting everything, when u clear to them and kill them you'll get the pieces you need...

only 1 person needs to go to the icedragon, the one who looted the crucible and the 2 blocks, she then spawns the warders a little E of the GD zoneline, SW of the giant fort..

hail them and say "i'm ready" to get them moving, if you can call their crawl movement... after they get close to the giant fort, a first "a dragon" spawns and attacks the fire warder, not sure if thats the same everytime but it came from the fire's side, so be ready... these dragons are tricky..

they CAN snare, so beware, the way we did it was engage with 3 of our grp members, 1 kiting it (immune to fear) while other 2 dps, their hps r considerably less then the giants... this thing should almost b dead by the time the second one spawns and attacks,

we had the other 2 remaining dragons besides yelinak kite and dps that one, and 1 of the 3 kiters from first dragon assist them, again this one should almost b dead by the time next one spawns

when this one (last one???) spawned, the 2 kiters from the first dragon kited this one, and waited for the second to be finished, at that point the warders reached the lair and sleeper spawned, he trys to get to iceclad.. hav every1 but yelinak continue to dps the adds, we didnt see more then 3, can anyone confirm? while yelinak kited sleeper (he summons!!! dont damage him till u r rdy)

when all adds are dead, the entire dragon party should engage kerafyrm, healing yelinak generously.. he does warp after 10% then another wen he hits 75%, unfortunately at this point yelinak went LD and we failed the mission in 2 minutes when the timer went off... ghey i know... entire mission to that pnt took about 2 hours.. an emote comes telling you that hes weakened after he warps at 75%, not sure where to go from there since yelinak decided to use dial up heh...hope that helps.. really wanna know the reward if anyone has seen it, we'r attempting agin 2morrow

This walkthrough seems to need a few corrections and additions.

Skip to the "a dragons". I confirm that they do in fact SNARE. Kiting is difficult when you are snared. Strafe kiting keeps them out of reach of you so you can safely kite.

So deal with the dragons however you want... I let my group worry about kiting dragons and what-not, I hung out watching over Sleeper so he couldn't take off and make it to iceclad right away.

Just a disclaimer, I have no beat this mission, though have come painfully close. With that in mind...

After I do the item turn ins, group is already waiting at warders spawn point. Instead of meeting up with the group, I go over to Kerafyrm. Another misconception posted here: Kerafyrm never spawns during this mission; she is up the entire time from the instant the zone is created on server.

The reason I hightail it to Kerafyrm is I want to be ready to engage Kerafyrm IMMEDIATELY after warders get to spot. Something no one has mentioned in this thread yet is Veeshan's Will. If you notice in the task list, it says all 6 dragons need to cast Veeshan's Will on Kerafyrm lest he gates. I'm *GUESSING* that when you get the yellow message saying now is the time to strike, that's when everyone does VW. The oject here is not to KILL sleeper, but slimply to keep Kerafyrm interested in you long enough so that you can KITE him to the tomb so the warders can lock him in there. Therefore, it is possible in theory that sleeper will never NEED to summon as she doesn't do so until 98%. With a well oiled group, I believe you can kite her all the way to ST WITHOUT getting Kerafyrm below 98%.

Hopefully this will help someone out. I have yet to meet anyone who has beaten this on 7th Hammer. I heard the reward is insulting, but regardless, I'd still love to beat this, been obsessed with Kerafyrm since Velious Day 1.

Keep a look out for an update in the coming weeks.

As a side note, rather interesting, as I was camping Sleeper, I agroed on accident (agro is easy to lose, just out run it) and got the "now is the time to strike" msg before dmg was even done to it. Not sure if this is the best way or not, but I'm sure this is the way it will be done when I beat it.

edit: Corrected myself.

If you stand with Oathmir and stare at the zoneout, look to the next segment of wall to the right. In the smack middle of that segment is a small alcove you enter into.

When you get the task, you get to pick the different monsters listed below by Kepness. One note to put is that Lord Yelinak is a required monster.

Basic abilities:
Each of the dragons except Klandicar get a heal, 2500 points, known as Chill Wounds. All of them have a fear spell known as Dragon Fear.

In the monster mission you are put down right next to the Sleeper's Tomb, and as you look around will see around a dozen corpses, many dragons, littering the view.

A dragon named Grendor the Iceshaper (red con, was KoS to me but didn't attack) will be standing on the momument marking the entrance to Sleeper's Tomb. Hailing him updates the task, he wants you to get 2 Huge Blocks of velium and a Gigantic Velium Crucible and give them to him.

Head up to the frost giant fort in the NW corner of the map and kill the giants there. (We fear kited en masse since we couldn't get singles)

"Captain Bullos", "Klonan Iceshard", and "Militia Captain" each drop two Huge Blocks of Velium.

The Gigantic Velium Crucible is dropped from "A Frost Giant Lord".

Upon turning in the two huge blocks and the crucible to Grendor, you get the task update and are told to locate the 4 warders that will hold Kerafyrm.

The warder of the flame, ice, water, and forest spawn just south of the frost giant fort, on a hill. Once you approach them you get a task update and are told to hail one of them.

You say, 'Hail, Warder of the Forest.'

Warder of the Forest says, 'Hello. We have prepared ourselves for our task. If you are prepared for yours then let us leave when you are [ready].'

You say, 'We are ready.'

Warder of the Forest says, 'If you are ready, then so are we. But be careful, for your breath will harm us as well as your enemies and it will not take much to cause our destruction or mental instability at this point due to the power we are trying to contain.'

The four warders then SLOWLY make their way towards Sleeper's Tomb. About a minute into their walk, two "a dragon"s (red con) spawn and begin attacking the warders. They hit hard and have quite abit of hp, enough that you don't have time to kill them before the warders walk off. We had two kiters kite the adds as they came while the other two of us (yeah, yeah, there were only four of us) followed the warders. As I recall, we had two attack us at the minute mark, another one or two about halfway to the Tomb, and a final one at the Tomb, abit off to the east. Once the warders arrived at the tomb, they despawned, and we got a zonewide shout:

Kildrukaun shouts, 'I have made it through their defenses, Lord Kerafyrm! They have been keeping us from you so that you may not be warned, but I have come! Flee now, mighty Kerafyrm, for they have prepared for you a devious trap. Flee so that we may fight them again and destroy them all! Come to us in the Iceclad, for you can break their ranks and we shall unite and none shall be able to stand before us!'

Unfortunately, one of our kiters died right before this emote sounded, so I (Lord Yelinak) had to kite them around until he respawned, by that time, it appears, Kerafyrm had made it to the Iceclad bridge, and the task ended.

Also, as a side note, the second kiter died about 10 seconds after task ended and we got the message:

"Your mission has ended. One of the dragons has died too many times."

Looks like there is a death limit.

Good luck on this mission, hopefully we'll get it next time, after all, third time's the charm!

As a side note, we found Kerafyrm in the NE section of Eastern Wastes just standing around when we went exploring after a bug left us having looted all the blocks of velium and the crucible but not gotten credit. He hit up to 1kish and upon getting to 90% he teleported a short distance away, losing all aggro. We re-engaged and got him to 75% as soon as he hit 75% he did another teleport and we got two yellow emotes both reading:
"You sense the primsatic beast is weak, now is the time to strike!"
This is undoubtably some part of the final showdown with Kerafyrm to trap him, as to how you do it, I cannot say as our task ended moments later when one of our Dragons died for the 2nd time, ending task.
