The Performer and his cohorts are located in the dining room.

______ says, 'Hail, The Performer'

The Performer cocks his dusty skull and poses dramatically. Even in undeath, the minstrel before you has retained his poise and charm. 'Pleasure to meet you, ______. In this castle I am known as The Performer. My true name was taken away from me the moment I became a slave to the Master. The same moment I lost my life and became another plaything in his collection. And though he may have stolen away my freedom, he can never stifle my freedom of expression. I know just the thing that make the Master furious but it would require some backup vocalization. How do you feel about [lending your voices]?'

You say, 'Lending our voices?'

The Performer says 'Wonderful! Pay attention to the cues and sing the next line of the song when called upon. The guards will arrive soon and attempt to break up our entertainment, so fend them off as best you can. Forgive me, but I'm actually giddy. Even thinking about the frustration this will cause the Master makes me feel almost human again.'

The event starts...

You have to protect The Performer from an onslaught by orc manservants (including Blueblood), furious shadowmanes, and angry drachnids (including The Spinstress).

Your goal is to keep The Performer alive at all costs. Kill count does not matter here (although killing as much as you can will greatly increase your chances of success).

Periodically, you'll have to sing along with their medley when they ask you individually, or get hit by Stage Fright. You get the lyrics from the band members:

You say, 'Hail, Britton Harmony'

Britton Harmony sings a tune describing the bitterness of a failed romance.
When she and I split ways,
it felt like the end of my days.
Until I suddenly,
suddenly realized
this life was better off alone.
Solitude was the best gift you ever gave me.

You say, 'Hail, Aelfric the Flautist'

Aelfric the Flautist sings a catchy song with nonsensical lyrics.
Touched tenderly.
Where will you be?
Dreaming with me.
Please,
everybody, hear the music.

You say, 'Hail, Seth Kimble'

Seth Kimble sings a depressing tune about suffering and despair.
Another night, in eternal darkness.
Time bleeds like a wound that's lost all meaning.
It's a long winter in the swirling chaotic void.
This is my torture,
my pain and suffering!
Pinch me, O' Death. . .

You say, 'Hail, Randal Reedsea'
Randal Reedsea sings a limerick about a historically significant figure.
Ol' Nilipus hailed from Misty Thicket.
Where'er he smelled Jumjum he'd pick it.
The halflings grew cross
when their profits were lost,
screamin', 'Where is that brownie? I'll kick it!'

Upon victory, all the mobs in the room will despawn, and the band will respawn as spirits. A worn chest spawns with additional loot.

You see:

You say, 'Hail, The Performer`s Spirit'

The Performer`s Spirit whoops, 'We did it, ______! Free again! We've broken the shackles of enslavement that the Master imposed upon my troupe. It's only fair that we offer you compensation for this assistance. Is there a bard, beastlord, druid, or shaman among you that could [assist] in destroying the Master once and for all?'

You say, 'I can assist you.'

The Performer`s Spirit says 'This ordinary looking gemstone has the power to glow with all the brightness of the sun when activated. It should be particularly effect against certain undead or vampires. Take it. Perhaps you can succeed where my followers and I have failed.'
The Performer`s Spirit fades away.

If you're a druid or shaman, you receive a Glimmering Dawnstone.

You say, 'Hail, Britton Harmony`s Spirit'

Britton Harmony`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.'

You say, 'Hail, Seth Kimble`s Spirit'

Seth Kimble`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.'

You say, 'Hail, Randal Reedsea`s Spirit'

Randal Reedsea`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.'

You say, 'Hail, Aelfric the Flautist`s Spirit'

Aelfric the Flautist`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.

If the Performer is killed, you fail the event and receive a Nostrolo Tambourine for your efforts. It respawns in 15 minutes upon a failure.

This event is easier to do the fewer people in the zone (and best if solo). The emotes for players are zone-wide so make sure any alts/AFK characters are logged out or not in the zone. This event is similar/on par with the Wailing Sisters for difficulty.

Ironically, the best class to solo this is a Bard. Here is the method I used to set up the hotkeys:

  • Open a new chat window, and set filters: Other, Say, Event Message, System Message
  • Open 4 blank hot bars. Create an empty hotkey with just the name of the musician (Britton, Aelfric, etc), then create hotkeys for each line of the song: "/say <lyric>".
  • Make the TITLE of each button besides the musician the same as the lyric line (as much as it will hold). This will make it easy to identify which hot key to press next.
  • Place the musician name's hotkey and the rest of its corresponding lyrics in order on each hot bar and assign it a color.
  • Place all the hot bars under/above the new chat window.

When I saw an emote, I correlated it to the hot bar whose first button (name) matched the performer. Then I matched the lyric they sang to the lyric button, and pressed the one that came after it. I gave each bar a unique color - it was very easy.

This can't be emphasized enough, but you are singing the line AFTER the one the musician sings not the line it sings.

Here is the general strategy as a Bard/melee:

  • Click off all damage shields and equip non-damaging items to prevent riposte (important). The Performer may aggro onto you and can be damaged. He has enough HP to be beat on for about 20 seconds, and he regens relatively quickly.
  • Keep all of the adds off of The Performer. If you have at least 1 hitting you, the rest will default to you. I kept an AoE snare/slow song twisting with a regen song. It was enough to keep me topped off and the adds on me.
  • Keep The Performer to your back and the adds to your front (facing away from the musicians). I had 350khp but even over 20 minutes the adds started to whittle down my HP. I started carefully picking them off with Vainglorious Shout/Boastful Bellow. Other classes will probably need to kill a few off over the duration.
  • Every 30 seconds you will get an emote. Target the musician and click the correct hot key you set up.
  • Rinse and repeat for 20 minutes until it ends

Once I properly set up my dialog (see above) it was a pretty trivial fight, the hardest part being add management.

I am able to easily solo this event and you can too!

My method is to make 4 new chat windows, one for each singer, then change the filter Other so that when you speak to each singer their lyrics go into their own chat window, then put your filter back into your normally used chat window and begin event.

Now you are probably asking yourself "This isn't going to be easy, you're going to get a million lyric requests!" and NOPE! The event does NOT give you faster emotes because you're the only person, it gives them to you SLOWER. You will get one request roughly every 30 seconds. It's very, very easy to solo.

The only thing that is even slightly tricky is that you are better off leaving mobs alive so that they will attack you first instead of attacking The Performer. My method was to stand right next to the performer and leave 1-2 mobs up so that I wasn't always having to quick target stuff before they attacked him.

How is this done? Wherever I set my filter Other is where all the singers' emotes go

Trio'd this with two chars doing the hails on the musicians and one char (enchanter) 100% focused on dealing with adds. So long as no mistakes are made, the one dealing with the adds need not do any song emotes and the performers health will regenerate fast enough. If you try and duo it with one class missing the hails, his health will drop faster than it can regen. I am sure it is possible to do with two or even one.
