This flags you to start the quest for the epic 1.5 if you don't have the Staff of the Serpent (epic 1.0).

Near the entrance to Veksar in the Lake of Ill Omen, you can find "a bloodgill mimic" at -235, +195, -185:

You say, 'Hail, a bloodgill mimic'

a bloodgill mimic says 'Can't you feel him? I hear the wind blow across the lake and I think he must still be . . . '

You say, 'Who is he?'

a bloodgill mimic says 'He who fell from the sky. I have sought [evidence] of him for my [master].'

You say, 'Who is your master?'

a bloodgill mimic says 'You know my master. Are we not the same?'

Summon and kill Garudon via the Release Garudon quest. It drops Garudon's Statue. Bring this back to the mimic.

a bloodgill mimic says 'I thank you. How terrible it must be to still remain after such time. You must possess some measure of power to return this to me. I believe Aida could benefit from the help of one such as yourself.'

You gain experience!!

You say, 'Who is Aida?'

a bloodgill mimic says 'Aida was once my partner, but it has been years since I have seen her. It does worry me so.'

You say, 'Where is she?'

a bloodgill mimic says 'I last saw her heading into an airless place. So confident, she was.'

Go to Ssraeshza Temple and speak with A Soriz Imitator at -590, +240, -256, in the basement.

You say, 'Aida?'

A Soriz Imitator says 'How do you know my name?'

You say, 'Where?'

...is the rest of the dialogue?

A Soriz Imitator says 'It is held by a Shissar here in the temple. I believe he wanders in order to think, that would be the best time to retrieve it.'

Find and kill "A Shissar Lorekeeper" (/loc?). It drops a Crumbling Tome. Give this to Aida, the Soriz Imitator.

A Soriz Imitator says 'It is remarkable that you have found it! Unfortunately, it appears to be written in some language so archaic I cannot even begin to decipher it. Please, you must see Rilgor about a translating device. I will stay here and see if I can find anything further that would be of use.'

You gain experience!!

You receive an Illegible Tome.

Rilgor Plegnog may be found in Ak'Anon at +2025, -585.

You say, 'Hail, Rilgor Plegnog'

Rilgor Plegnog says 'Oh, what is it now. Can't you see that I am a very busy gnome?'

You say, 'What about the translating device?'

Rilgor Plegnog rubs his chin thoughtfully. 'A translating device? Now that is something rather complicated. It would take all of my skill as both a tinkerer and an enchanter. This is not the sort of thing I would do for nothing, no no no. I would need some sort of [compensation] for a project like that!'

You say, 'What compensation?'

Rilgor Plegnog says 'Hmm, well now that you mention it, some fine silks might do rather nicely. Oh yes, indeed. I do love my robe ever so much, but well, the rest of me could use some sprucing up. I always did feel a bit left out that I never picked up some of that nice Insidious.'

You say, 'What nice Insidious?'

Rilgor Plegnog says 'Yes indeed, it is lovely. Fetch me a set and I just might consider undertaking that translating device of yours. Take this sack. I am quite interested in the halo, sleeves, manacle, gloves, pantaloons, and slippers. As I said, my robe is still serving me quite nicely, so no need to worry about that.'

You receive a 6-slot Compacting Satchel. Go to Plane of Hate and kill "a forsaken revenant" until you have looted Fine Insidious Gloves, Fine Insidious Halo, Fine Insidious Manacle, Fine Insidious Pantaloons, Fine Insidious Sleeves, and Fine Insidious Slippers. Combine them in the satchel to craft An Insidious Bundle, and bring this back to Rilgor.

Rilgor Plegnog says 'Very fine it is. So kind of you to fulfill a dream of mine. I believe this device should be able to handle just about anything you'd need. In fact, if I were you I would take it along to your master right away.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Gnomish Translating Device. Go to "a sarnak imitator," a.k.a. Jeb Lumsed, in the Burning Woods at -1200, -4000 and give him the Illegible Tome and the Gnomish Translating Device.

a sarnak imitator says 'How very interesting. This could prove to be invaluable to my work. I have long been researching a new and most powerful tool to help our kind. It is necessary in these most dangerous of times. Unfortunately, it appears as though time has taken its toll on this tome. It is incomplete. Seek the missing pages so that I may study it in depth. There should be ten, unless they have been destroyed by time and decay.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Tattered Illegible Tome. Congratulations, you have completed the pre-quest.

You say, 'What evidence?'

Need dialogue.

If you tell him that, he doesn't respond.

I asked him "What master" next, and he responded

Edit. Incidently, none of this mobs text is highlighted/bracketed.

Fine Insidious Pieces

I just spent Approximately 12hrs almost straight getting these pieces. The Forsakens are only in the northern square part of the zone which you enter into when you port from the Guild Hall. The pieces can drop from either the male or female versions and before all is said and done you will most likely have passed up many duplicates before getting all 6 pieces. It can be extremely frustrating but hang in there, this is indeed the longest part of the quest.

When Hailing or turning in Garudon's Statue to the Bloodgill Mimic i get no responce what so ever. I tried turning in the book to Aida but she dosent responce either.
They do turn to face me when hailing tho.
Im only lvl 55, could this be the reason or is the quest bugged atm?

I just wanna say the Fine Insidious dropped off both male and female "A Forsaken Revenant"... I found this out because I would just train around and pull a bunch and sometimes I'd only get males and they had the drop... So lesson learned

you can use ctrl F to find him as he is a guild master

also, make sure the pieces of insidious you are giving him are fine insidious pieces, not just insidious as it is differnet.

Related Zones should have Lake of Ill Omen instead of Veksar.

Veksar is just near where the start NPC is and apparently plays no other role in this quest.

I play a 70 Enchanter on the Combine progression server. When i camped the Fine Insidious pieces in hate i stayed to the extreme north of the zone clearing everything useing a kirukuei as a pet. Then cleared as much as i could across the bridge right next to the zone in until i had repops. Got all 6 fine insidious pieces in less than 10 hours. They can definately drop from either male or female revenants. Hope this helps.

I did this in one day today with 3 level 75 toons. For Plane of hate we zoned in and crossed the stairs to the right, turned right a few buildings north and pulled to there. Rev's you want can respawn in many locations so pulling everything and killing everything increases your odds greatly. Had hate done by noon, Veksar done few hours after and the rest was just as easy. If you're "back-epic-ing" so to speak like I am it's pretty easy to do the prequest rather than 1.0.

My experience was;

First try - Camped at the cathedral steps for 2 sessions of perhaps 3 hours each, didn't get any insidious pieces to drop. This was pulling the nearby mobs north of the stairs.

Second try - Roamed only in the far NE section near the coercer spawn for perhaps 5 hours and got all the insidious pieces with 3 multiple pieces.

Group was the same each try. Btw we only got one Coercer pop, and he didnt drop a piece.

I have just completed this entire prequest, from the Release Garudon sub-quest to the 6 Fine Insidious pieces needed from Plane of Hate. Here is my take on it/advice to assist those that come to here for assistance on it.

Release Garudon:

The "Dragon Boneshards" that drop don't drop as often as we could only wish. Patience will pay off though, and you will get 4 of them. Easily soloable by an enchanter who has leveled to the stage of even considering this quest. One thing that I had problems with was finding the "Theater". As you run through Veksar, you will encounter undead/living mobs (as I'm sure you know). The ramp that leads to the Theater is in the center area of the zone, the one with the golems. When you are running through the courtyard (regular invis on), instead of continuing on to the undead Shopkeeper camp, if you look left of that doorway and up in the corner, you will see the ramp leading up, right next to Spirit of Garudon. There are 4 mobs visible immediately upon going up this ramp, kill them, then enter the small cove and to the left. You will see a ramp leading back down into the Theater that isn't visible until you are nearly on top of it. Kill, kill, kill until you have looted the 4 shards. Get a solid group together for the main fight, Garudon isn't tough in what he does, he is tough in that he has quite a few HPs. His one AE was easily resistable, I resisted it 80% of the time with less than perfect resists. Melee wise, no rampage, but I seem to recall him enraging. Loot the piece and zone out of Veksar and swim straight out from the doorway. You will see the mimic straight ahead.

Prequest:

Getting the Crumbling Tome from "a Shissar Lorekeeper" was simple. Use the right doorway from ent of SSRA (kill the one see invis standing in front of it) then run to the tube room. I am trying to remember if I had to go up a level, I think I did. Then kill all the mobs in the 4 corners of the room until he spawns. Getting to Aida, if you know SSRA, get to the basement, she's in one of the little cave-like rooms off to the sides. You'll have to kill like 4 skellys, they agro when you get near. The Plane of Hate part of this was by far the longest portion. I spent a total of 6 days in Hate, and got 6 pieces. Average of one a days sucks, considering I camped it for 5 hours+ each day. Was fun to learn the zone however. A Forsaken Revenant is the mob that drops the armor set pieces. HOWEVER, contrary to what I have read, the "Fine Insidious" pieces drop from both the male AND female versions, it is not limited to the female. Assist range of mobs in Hate is VERY low, considering the mobs are many levels below me. I could single pull everything with only minor thinking required. Pet toys ARE A MUST in here. The entire zone is on a RAID TIMER so you will never get to have the chance to power med in it, so mana goes fast with nukes. Pet can easily solo every mob with a slow, there are a few that were close, but just step in to take the hits when you get in that situation. The FORSAKEN revenants spawn throughout the north half or so of the zone, basically anywhere north of the cathedral with the Maestro. If you go too far south, you will come across FORLORN revenants. They do NOT drop the pieces, and are of a much higher level, and much more difficult to kill.

Hope that this info wasn't more confusing than helpful. Figured I would spend the time to type it so that other enchanters wouldn't have to spend the time on minor details like I did. Good luck.
