Kaiaren spawns on the aviak island in the Ocean of Tears at +1290, +3995 post-revamp. You say, 'Hail, Kaiaren' Kaiaren says 'Hello ______, I have been [expecting] you.' You say, 'Why have you been expecting me?' Kaiaren says 'There is still much that needs to be done and I lack the strength still to continue it myself. If you choose to you can first begin by completing a [simple task] for me.' You say, 'What simple task?' Kaiaren says 'I need you to gather some rare [delicacies] and bring them back to me. This meal has been passed down the Order for ages. This meal is said to grant strength back to the feeble. It is the only way possible for us to combat this [menace].' You say, 'What delicacies?' Kaiaren says 'I will need to you to gather some [sunless nectar] and some meat from an [ancient creature].' You say, 'What sunless nectar?' Kaiaren says 'The sunless nectar comes from the darkest parts of Norrath. Once you find it you must combine it with some spices and a pie tin to make a Sugar and Spice Nectar Pie. Please return soon after you have both items.' You say, 'What ancient creature?' Kaiaren says 'The creature you seek has been living for as long as any can remember. It can be found surrounded by water. You will need to take its meat and combine it with grilling sauce, a loaf of bread, and some cheese to make a Grilled Aged Meat and Cheese Sandwich. Please return soon after you have both items.' You say, 'What menace?' Kaiaren says 'What menace? For sure Vortix has mentioned to you his dreams? His dreams provide a rare gift of foresight into what lies ahead. There is a dark threat that looms over the Order's head like a vice. It wants nothing more than to destroy all that know of its existence.' Baking a Sugar and Spice Nectar Pie: The Deep Find An Ancient Shrieker in The Deep at 855.38, 1186.24, -58.94. Kill it to loot Sunless Nectar. Combine this in an oven or spit with 1 x Spices + 1 x Pie Tin to craft Sugar and Spice Nectar Pie, trivial 176. The nectar is returned if you fail the combine. Baking an Aged Meat and Cheese Sandwich: Veksar Find an "ancient nobleman" in Veksar at +95, -290. Kill it to loot an Aged Piece of Meat. Combine this in an oven or spit with 1 x Grilling Sauce + 1 x Loaf of Bread + 1 x Cheese to craft an Aged Meat and Cheese Sandwich(trivial?). Give Treats to Kaiaren: Ocean of Tears Head back to the Ocean of Tears and give the two treats to Kaiaren. Kaiaren says 'Ah, thank you. These will help me greatly but I am afraid I will still lack the strength needed to combat this evil. You will have to go in my place until at least I have had a little longer to rest and train. If you [choose to continue], there are two more Disciples that you must face in order to reach the point of transcendence.' You gain experience!! You say, 'I choose to continue.' Kaiaren says 'As I thought you would; you will find them as you did the others, in their natural essence. You will find the Disciple of Focus in the hills and mountains training diligently. The Disciple of Tranquility you shall find in a clearing where many do not travel without knowing valor and courage. It is there that you will be able to find your calmness. Please return to me when you have gained their respect as well as their symbols. I will also require your sash.' Disciple of Focus: The Tenebrous Mountains Find the Disciple of Focus in the Tenebrous Mountains at -230, +900. You say, 'Hail, Disciple of Focus' Disciple of Focus says 'I see you have finally come. I have sensed someone with the ability to confront the darkness before the Order coming. I know that this is you. Before you can continue I must know if this is the case. You say, 'Hail, Disciple of Tranquility' Disciple of Tranquility says 'I see you bear the Sign of the Order. I already know why you are here, ________. If it is my seal you wish to obtain you must [battle] me.' You say, 'I wish to battle you.' Disciple of Tranquility says 'Prepare yourself then ______, for this will not be a battle you will want to lose.' It respawns and attacks. Disciple of Tranquility says 'I didn't know Slime could speak common..go back to the sewer before I lose my temper.' It hits for 1230 max and procs Blinding Essence of Purity and Strike of the Champion. Once it's dead: Disciple of Tranquility's corpse says 'You have done well. May you continue to prosper through your trials.' Loot a Symbol of Tranquility. Battle with Kaiaren: Ocean of Tears Polish both symbols the way you did during epic 1.5 (trivials? minimum skill required?) to obtain a Polished Symbol of Focus and Polished Symbol of Tranquility. Head back to Kaiaren and hand both of these in along with your Initiate's Sash of the Celestial Order. Kaiaren says 'I see you are ready to assume the [final task] before facing the Dark Foe that will forever change our way of life here.' You say, 'What final task?' Kaiaren says 'Yes, you must combat an enlightened one. It is our way that balance must be kept. Without good, evil cannot exist. We are but a small part in the cycle of true immortality. If you are [ready to begin] I will battle you. Please do not worry, if you defeat me, my being will continue to exist within you as that is the way of our Order. If you fall however, it was meant to be.' You say, 'I am ready to begin.' Kaiaren says 'Stand fast and ready to prove your worth now ______!' He attacks. Globe of Discordant Energy: Citadel of Anguish The Globe of Discordant Energy drops after encounters with various raid mobs in Citadel of Anguish: Arch Magus Vangl, Jelvan`s Keepsake (spawns following successful completion of the tormentor ring), Orb of Discordant Energy (spawns after killing Warden Hanvar), Overlord Mata Muram. Hand in the Globe: Plane of Tranquility Head back to Vortix. You say, 'Hail, Vortix' Vortix says 'It is good to see you _______, but I have no new information to share with you. If you have anything to show me, please do.' Give him the Globe of Discordant Energy and your Fistwraps of Celestial Discipline. Vortix says 'By handing me this I already know of the events that have taken place this day. You must not be upset. Everything has balanced itself again. The Order has been restored and we must continue to train in the ways of the Enlightened. Take the globe back, and with the it and your Fistwraps of Celestial Discipline, please find Sebast Muckle in Plane of Knowledge and hand them to him. He is a great sage and will be able to know what to do with them to reward you properly.' You get the globe and fistwraps back. You Are Ready to Leave This Place: Plane of Knowledge Find Sebast Muckle in the Plane of Knowledge at +25, +75, on the bottom floor of the building west and slightly south of the Crescent Reach portal. You say, 'Hail, Sebast Muckle' Sebast Muckle says 'Hello there. Can I be of service for anything?' Hand in the globe and fistwraps. You have gained an ability point! You now have XX ability points. Sebast Muckle says 'I see you have found a way to bring order and balance back to the world. You should have also learned of the need for such evils in the world. My pottery skill is at 144 and i was able to polish both symbols the first time..I also recieved the message 'You can no longer advance you skill from making this item' so trivial must be somewhere around there

Highest hit I saw was 1173, most were for only 191.
Much easier and less hp's than the 1.5 fights from 7th Hammer on (I don't really recall earlier mobs well).
Casts Quivering Nightmares which seems easily resistable.
Flurries, Rampages, and Wild Rampages.

Trivial is higher than 124. I got a skillup on one.
Trivial for the polished symbols is less than 180 Pottery. I got the "you can advance your skill from making this item" message for both combines @ 180 skill.

that means that someone attempted to do their final fight against Kaiaren before you got there and obviously failed...he is KoS after saying the trigger words to him

The bolded and underlined statement is correct, but flawed. Keldovan has nothing to do with the Jelvan event. Just remove everything after "tormentor ring".

Took Kaiaren down last night (22JULY2007).
Did it with 8 toons (4 of us each 2 boxing).
75 Monk (epic 1.5), 75 Shammy, 75 Warrior (epic 1.5), 75 Cleric, 75 Chanter, 75 Mage, 75 Ranja, 70-something Mage (he died because we weren't paying attention to the damage he was taking).
We're all for the most part TBS vendor gear.
Fight took 7 minutes 32 seconds.
No real danger, just a long fight.
His AE and rampage was easy to handle.
Easily slowable.
My logs showed about 775Khps... but I'm sure I missed some Ranja bow damage and some spell damage too.
I was really surprised this mob was so easy... but I'll take it.

With the revamp in OoT in place, Kaiaren is now located at 1291, 3996, not far from his previous spot, but nevertheless, in a new spot now.
To get to him, get off the boat (dislike having the boats back) and run due west. You will hit the Aviak Island and Kaiaren is on it.

hello my name is dolster im a 73 monk,
and jsut finished my 2.0 it was Ez took a total of bout 4hours.
my n a shammy duo'd the two discples with no problem at all,
took 2 groups to kill ocean of tears mob no deaths 2 clerics.
first time i failed him but i didnt loose symbols i think its becasue i gated then camped came back next day and killed him. then got globe the same day with guild. ocean of tears mob hit for 2.6k max. was slowed/snared.

from start to finish, this quest took a total of 4 hours, considering I had already gotten the globe of discordant energy from anguish. its an awesome weapon, better ratio than the beastlord 2.0, and goes very well with the flayed flesh handwraps.

I can't unserdtand anyone failing this last fight unless they heva no idea what they're doin or are crazy gimp. Did Kaiaren recently on seventh hammer with 4 toons, war, shm, mnk, and rog, all 75 with good gear, and shaman was boxing the tank =P so don't overestimate Kaiaren, he's a pansy...

Was quite easy with CoA+ geared war/cleric/monk/enc and 10k monk and a 72necro. All in all the encounter was much easier than expected. 1 grouped the whole thing.

I also failed this fight, dose anyone know if i have to start this all over again. or can i kill kaiaren the next time and continue the quest. IM really hoping that i can just pick up where i left off. somene please help!
My guildie turned in the polished coins and sash, then everyone was wiped. He FD'ed, then Kaiaren despawned. Came back the next day, a new Kaiaren spawned (non-aggro version). The same monk said "You say, 'I am ready to begin.' Without a turn-in (because he no longer has the items). Kaiaren aggroed, was killed, had no drops except the chest with a caster item in it.
My question is, can you fail the fight then kill the mob later? Or does the monk in question have to re-aquire the sash and polished coins, do a second turn in and a second kill? *Please respond if you have experienced this senario*

Um i see that in the writeup it states nothing about a drop that you need to loot from Kaiaren, SO i would assume that just going back and doing the dialogue to spawn the kos version (THEN KILLING IT) should be enough, since you should also have the character flags (gained experience) from turning in the symbols and the belt...
correct me if im wrong

Which is incorrect: real recipe is 1 x Sunless Nectar + 1 x Spices+ 1 x Pie Tin.
Also, an ancient shrieker doesn't really have a PH or location - generally they're located on the west side of the invisible bridge in the Deep.
Just thought I'd save ya'll some time.

Hang a right at the end of the invisible bridge. The mouth of the next tunnel is usually full of ancient shriekers. Mostly gray to level 75. I solo'd 6 in a matter of minutes and had 2 Sunless Nectar drop.

The chest is simply called "a chest". Just killed it.
Ours dropped a Glyphed Helm of Conflict.
Confirming that you get 10AAs for completion. Sebast Muckle is at (25, 68, -124). In the part of the zone with the "neutral" cities, it's in the building that contains the stairs up to the library. Bottom floor.

Kairen encounter does drop a chest. Loot is from the 2.0 table I don't remember which exactly dropped.
