The keeper spawns just southeast of the northwest large courtyard and runs into that courtyard
Tip1 = clear that courtyard first
Tip2 = dont /kickp the task to zone out fast or you will have to redo it like me

This group mission begins with Officer Vacax Rol`Tas (click for map image) in the Dark Reign camp of the Lavastorm Mountains. Pre-requisites for requesting this task: - Have high amiable faction with Dark Reign - Completion of all Tier 2 tasks and flags - Completion of "Muddy the Waters" - Completion of "Snowfoot Attack" - Completion of "Knowledge is Power" You say, 'Hail, Officer Vacax Rol`Tas' Officer Vacax Rol`Tas laughs, 'These are indeed good days for the will of hate and fear. We will overcome the races of light and prevail. Pledge allegiance to Lanys T`Vyl!' You have been assigned the task 'The Gilded Scroll'. The Storm Dragon, Yar'Lir, has caused one of her minions to create a scroll that can tear up the land and toss it into the air. I want that scroll. Find it and bring it back. I also want you to kill the creature that made the scroll. No, not Yar'Lir... the minion. I want to be the only one with such power. Touch the portal to Thundercrest Isles 0/1 (The Broodlands) The zone-in is at 2400, 1865 (northwestern part of the zone). You zone into the building in the far northwestern part of the Thundercrest Isles. Loot 1 Scroll 0/1 (Thundercrest Isles) Kill mobs in the zone and loot the items called "Scroll". When you loot, you see emotes: As you take the scroll from the corpse, you pause to take a closer look at it. These scrolls, when looted, transform into different items (useless items). Some of them trigger a detrimental effect on the looter. The scroll that updates the task triggers the same emote and transforms into "Gilded Scroll of Earth Rending". It also triggers the spawn of "Noble Kirin Scholar" at the location of the loot update. Upon spawn, it begins wandering away, so aggro it quickly (if it's left to wander off, it's not known where it winds up - possibly in the front courtyard outside the building). Kill 1 Noble Kirin Scholar 0/1 (Thundercrest Isles) Task Window Says: With the scroll in hand you can vaguely sense the one who created it. Kill everything in the hall if you have to, but destroy that Kirin! The Noble Kirin Scholar hits for a max ~1,200 and procs "Crushing Blow". Deliver 1 Gilded Scroll of Earth Rending to Daleynn Spiritshadow 0/1 (Lavastorm Mountains) Upon handing in the final scroll, the task completes and you see: Wonderful! I can't wait to see what this thing can do! Well done. We won't forget your help here. Courtyard mobs seem the most likely to drop the right scroll. If not, killing all mobs will eventually get you the needed scroll, just remember to click on them to open them up!

DJPhil's write-up is dead on. I did this tonight but failed as I was just a solo 75 necro approx Time geared maybe a little over (6k HP, 8500 Mana). Nothing summoned that I encountered. Named is immune to run speed changes, I tried to Tap tank him, but he got me in the end. If I'd had mage with stun pet or anything that can slow at all I might have done it.
Solo, kiting everything including all the roamers it seemed, took me 2 and 1/2 hours with only one death (FD failed at the wrong time on a 3 spawn). Seemed like everything was roamers or 3 spawns, making for slow pulling with just FD for splits. Mobs took FOREVER to reset, sometimes as long as 2 minutes. /tap /snore

It's Bugged, petition....like that will do anything
I just attempted it as well. We killed everything in the zone and got nothing but dud scrolls. You'd think after this much time they'd been able to fix it by now. Three of the mobs spawned on the the bridge and we had to range pull two of them. While attempting to get the 3rd, I got through the door but now am unable to get back to group.

Posting my experience in nauseating detail due to the lack of info in general on Dark Reign tasks.
This mission takes place in the northwest building of the thundercrest map. You start in the northeast branch of the basement (left side if you're coming down the ramp), and succor effects bring you back to that point. The Noble Kirin Scholar spawns in the courtyard in front of the building, and it appears that you cannot go beyond the gates leading to the bridge from the courtyard, making this a small map.
There were no respawns on our mission. The mobs are kirin, statues, goblins, and drakes, and seemed to be approximately as difficult as creator trash. If you're familiar with the Keepers tier 3 mission spawns this place will be familiar, if refreshingly sparse. We pet pulled singles with a green beast pet all the way through the mission, with a rogue scouting. We noticed scrolls dropping from drakes and statues, though I suspect any mob type can drop them.
After scouting the mission, we cleared the basement, and then broke the kirin wanderers in the halls up enough to move. This is probably the biggest possible tripwire in this mission. The wandering Kirin are druids, and they throw little buff orgies with the static mobs all over the place. I've watched them stand in place for up to five minutes, so it's very difficult to predict their movements. I counted eleven wandering Kirin on my scout, though I'm sure spawns will differ. I'd strongly suggest bringing a patient crew who can handle waiting to clear, or one with enough CC power to handle up to a half dozen unexpected adds.
Hugging the walls opposite the rooms allowed invised players to sneak by. We got our golden scroll from a drake in one of the rooms, and it was about the fifth one we looted. We were intending to clear to the courtyard, but hadn't made it that far yet.
The courtyard had six trash mobs and the named up, so we cleared out enough trash to pac pull the named solo. We were prepared for a much rougher fight. High dps crew: High AA Time-ish gear grade all round - Bst, 2xWiz, rog, clr took him down in about 35sec. Bst tank (max defensives) barely had time to get swung on, high hit was 900ish but proly could have hit higher. I'd guess he's a shade tougher than 'the creator' in a creator mission, but not as bad as the last named in the NK tier 3 version of this mission.
Once again I'm surprised at how easy the Dark Reign side tasks are. Nice perk considering how difficult it's been to get people to do creators for ebons. :/ Shouldn't be out of reach for a decent crew.

Did this mission just now, killed everything in the entire instance. The right scroll never dropped. No mobs left on tracking.
1- Statue at enterance 2nd statue the scroll bombed us with ae fire. Thunder guardian also Blew us up ea fire and gravity flux.
