This group monster mission begins with a gnome named Mister Squich in the Butcherblock Mountains. He can be found at +1990, +2975 (north of the dock area along the coast).

You play a Gunthak pirate invading Freeport and looting plundered treasure.

You say, 'Hail, Mister Squich'

Mister Squich says 'Avast thar ye scabrous dogs! Have ye come to join the most fearsome [ship] in the seas?'

You say, 'Ship?'

Mister Squich says 'The Poisoned Flounder of course, you lilly livered barnacle! She's going to be the terror of the seas once I get a full crew for her. For some reason though no one wants to sign on to my ship. I've come up with a [plan] to fix that problem though.'

You say, 'What plan?'

Mister Squich says 'All those lubbers need is a chance to see my Flounder in action. Once they see her win battle after battle everyone will want to sail on her. I figure if I can raid Freeport they'll see things my way and things will be clear sailing from there. I just need to get a few more hands to set things loose. Say. . .you wouldn't be [interested] in signing on to help with just that one raid would you?'

You say, 'I'm interested!'

Mister Squich says 'Arrr! I knew ye had some salt in yer veins when I saw you. The Poisoned Flounder is docked just north of these here docks over yonder. We are a bit wary of public docks as it were. Just let me know when you are ready to [board] and I'll signal for a dinghy. Haha! They'll never know what hit em when the Flounder lets loose.'

You have been assigned the task 'The Poisoned Flounder'.

Hurry up you greasy son of a fish! The ship is about to set sail! Get on board and see that you're ready when we arrive.

Monster templates include level 55 Rogue, Cleric, Warrior, and Enchanter.

Board the Poisoned Flounder 0/1 (Butcherblock Mountains)

You say, 'Ready to board!'

Here we go!

Your task 'The Poisoned Flounder' has been updated.

You have entered East Freeport: The Poisoned Flounder.

Get going and make this a raid those land lubbers will never forget!

Jus remember . . . once you find your first victim . . . you be havin' forty-five minutes or so till we worn out our welcome.

Oh, and I need ya to get at least thirty 'afor I gives ya somethin fer yer troubles but the more ya gets, the better shot ya have at a choice reward!

? ? ?

(Missing step involves?)

In this instanced version of East Freeport you'll find all the usual NPCs, merchants, quest NPCs, and so forth in their regular places. Only in this case, all are level 50 and all will attack you on site (even merchants). You'll find treasure in chests located in various parts of the zone (typically inside buildings behind counters).

(Optional) Loot as much plundered treasure as you can in 45 minutes! 0/100 (East Freeport)

(Optional) How much time you've spent raiding Freeport 0/45 (East Freeport)

Doing as much as you can in as little time possible may enable a choice of rewards.. (Confirmation needed.)

The common reward is Fitted Chain Boots, while the rare is Plundered Shard of Minor Resistance.

Fitted Chain Boots (level 1-10)

This is strange... maybe it depends on the relation drops / number of group members?

Edit: we were 4 in group with 51 treasures...

I did this monster mission several times, and it seems that:

less than 50 treasures looted: reward is Fitted Chain Boots
more than 50 treasures looted: reward is Plundered Shard of Minor Resistance

Good luck!

Shards are how MM give out experience now. This was done to prevent people sitting in PoK or the guild hall or whatever and leeching free experience is all.

Must loot to get experience.

This mission is as far as I am concerned the easiest mission available. The only downside is the normal EXP sucks vs AA which is almost a full AA per mission, I would often go 3 missions a row dinging an AA and then one without AND the fact that you cannot end this mission early... you must wait 45 minutes for the mission to end.

You MUST have at least 4 players. I have 4 boxed this mission easily. You MUST have a cleric for heals. You MUST have an enchanter for mana regen, haste and mezz. You MUST have a tank and I reccomend just doing all tanks especially if your boxing. I actually felt like the dps was better with warriors instead of rogue. ( I often didn't have time to hit backstab ) I did not play the game pre-nerf but I can tell you post nerf chests are few and far between so It's best to just stay together and dps kill the mobs. Have one warrior engage all combat before all others and be the MT, have other warrior pull more mobs to the group and chanter mez them. This is the whole trick to getting tons of treasures... keeping the flow of mobs going. I do NOT reccomend pulling the first bar near the docks, I do NOT reccomend pulling in the underground tunnels near docks, just head out towards the other area of the town, pull the gate exit and the inn that is out there. I do not reccomend the grayish building that is near that inn at the gate. I usually pull 3 or 4 and that is gonna often result in a wipe. I was able to get the aug item from the chest with UNDER 50 loots in 45 minutes.... so unsure if it is just a random change or what.... In return I would like others to post or e-mail me with any info on monster missions that would be 4 or less boxable and they're strategy used. See you in EQ! I play on FV and Zebuxoruck/Xegony! E-mail

Can be easily 3 boxed too with tank - cleric - chanter, but if someone calls on the phone or rings the doorbell, you're prolly not gonna finish. :)

I would like confirmation from a level 70, how much aa exp do you get post nerf per mission? i still assume it's the same as the level 65 70 - 80% of 1 aa.

I got the freeport guard chain boots at level 45 for my ranger, great boots, but they did not upgrade at level 51, neither did the shoudlers I got in High Pass. I sent a bug report but am still waiting for a response. Has anyone else had this problem?

They are not evolving items. They are not supposed to upgrade or change in any way as you level. If you want the higher version, run the mission again.

Rogues no longer have the ability to sneak or hide at all no can they do sneak attack. They're still good dps but they can't evade which means they have to watch their agro.
Still they are awsome dps. Best group I've had was warrior, cleric, enchanter and rogues x3. Just rip the mobs to peices.

Minimum players 3, maximum 6. This mission cannot be ended until the 45-minute timer has expired. The chest with the reward pops at that time (at the end of the dock) and must be looted to end the mission.

No faction hits involved in this mission, The mobs are all the normal NPCs from East Freeport, including the rotating mobs in the bar at the docks.

30 loots required for success. 50 loots required for the Plundered Shard. 100 loots is a task of the mission. Rumor says that getting the 100 only increase experience, but I know noone who has accomplished this (even pre-tweak). I once stayed after the timer had expired to get the 100 loots, but do not think it matters. Chests and mobs all have 1 loot (except Tislan).

This misson was tweaked. Pre-tweak, a single rogue could run around looting (and dying) the 44 chests. Meanwhile, AFK players sat outside in Butcherblock reaping free experience. Post-tweak, there are only 7 chests, fighting is required, and the slackers no longer plague Butcherblock.

Available roles are Warrior, Rogue (Sneak, Hide, Backstab), Cleric (Group Temp, Icy Dot, Healing, Root), and Chanter (Clarity, Mez, Haste).

For the post-tweak I would recommend a minimum of Warrior, chanter, cleric. Pre-twesk, I played in a group of 4: warrior, warrior, cleric, chanter, and we reached 74 loots. I suspect that group could still get 50.

I also expect that 100 is now out of reach. If I was to try, I would take 3 warriors, 2 clerics, and a chanter.
