This is a non-progression task. It is a group mission (3-6 players) that begins with Kanetheus Forestwalker (click for map image) in the Norrath's Keepers camp of the Lavastorm Mountains.

Pre-requisites for requesting:
- Minimum level 59
- Minimum "apprehensive" faction with Norrath's Keepers

Hail him to get a quest selection window pop-up.

You have been assigned the task 'Animated Statue Plans'.

It's said that great treasures are held safely within the hallowed halls of Stillmoon Temple, guarded by powerful statues that animate when trespassers are near. Recently, one of our agents tracked down some goblin architects that seem to have the knowledge of building a new, stronger version of these juggernauts. Having some of these statues under our control would be most beneficial to our cause. Your mission is twofold. You are to go to the temple and retrieve the creation plans. Then destroy any of the gargantuan prototype statue that has been created with the plans. We can not have any remnant of these statues falling into the hands of Dark Reign. Good luck my friends.

Note: This group mission scales to your group's level. The highest is 68+, outlined here.

Touch the portal to Stillmoon Temple 0/1 (The Broodlands)

The entrance will be marked on your compass (entered in the north-central part of the Broodlands, near the non-instanced entrance to Stillmoon Temple).

Find the Animated Statue Plans 0/1 (Stillmoon Temple)

Kill 1 Stillmoon Statue Prototype 0/1 (Stillmoon Temple)

You'll need to kill at least 20 mobs in the zone (any mobs count). After 20 kills, "a goblin warlord" spawns in the large room in the far northeast part of the zone, just in front of a dragon statue. As you make your way through the sand area, you'll come across a non-aggro "a stone statue" (ignore this mob for now):

a goblin worker says 'More sand! We need more sand for the statue!'
a goblin worker says 'Ignore the adventurers. We must complete the statue!'
a goblin worker says 'Oops! I hope that didn't damage the statue.'

Head to the northeasternmost room and, there, find "a goblin warlord". Next to it is a non-aggro mob called "a goblin guard" (ignore this mob).

When ready for the encounter, aggro the warlord:

a goblin warlord says 'How dare you invade our temple and defile it with your presence! You will all pay! Guard! Retrieve reinforcements!'

At this time, "a goblin guard" runs to the room to the south of the warlord's room and activates "a stone statue" which charges the warlord's location.

The warlord hits for a max ~1,050; flurries; summons; is immune to root/snare; and procs "Goblin Headbutt":

Goblin Headbutt: Single Target, (-17)
1: Stun (3.00 sec)

The statue hits for a max ~900; does not summon; and can be rooted/snared. It doesn't cast anything. Both mobs have ~50,000-60,000 hitpoints.

The Animated Statue Planes plans are looted from "a goblin warlord".

Deliver 1 Animated Statue Plans to Kanetheus Forestwalker 0/1 (Lavastorm Mountains)

Upon turn-in, you see:

Very nice work. We hope the reward was worth the effort. Thank you for helping us.

Up to 34 Radiant Crystals (number varies according to group's level)

Zone in for this instance is the small room off of the western-most room.

Fight your way East until you get to the marked rooms in the picture. For me it was just the right amount of mobs to get warlord to spawn. Task to 30 minutes overall.

Be careful to agro the warlord before killing him or the statue will stay inactive! It seemed like a good idea to headshot the warlord from afar, but it bugged the mission for me :(.
To Spawn the Warlord...

Clearing his room by itself will not spawn him; you have to kill 20 mobs to make him spawn. I am running my alt through here and as a level 90 SK I can skip all the mobs and run to the Warlords room and slaughter all the mobs there and even after waiting an hour the warlord will not spawn. Checking back after every kill with his room cleared and doing this task over 10 times the Warlord always spawns after 20 kills. Drakes, goblins, statues, it doesn't matter the number is 20.

I hope this helps anyone else working on faction.

Finally got offered this task at 59, amiable faction. Was amiable faction before I hit 59 but wasn't offered.

Note: this task is offered in the Dark Reign camp by Celrak Blightblood.

If you want to avoid fighting the statue and warlord at the same time, you can have 1 person agro warlord and COH them back to the group (if there is no FD enabled player on hand)

Animated Statue Plans

Once you enter the long tunnel on the first floor, keep going east. No need to empty the side rooms, such as the rooms that go upstairs.

most of the mobs you meet are paired up, and you'll be fighting two at a time.

Keep going east and you'll end up in the NE part of zone.

the Stone statue is in the big room

And the warlord is in the farthest room just off of the big one.
Trick

A friend of mine told me how his guild does this mission, and there is an easy trick to avoid having 2 named mobs at the end. First off, you need to kill the mobs in the statue and warlord room with all due haste, as you don't want them respawning during the fight. Second, you need a FD puller for this to work. Set your final camp up in the small room that connects the Warlord and the Statue room. Have the FD puller run in, smack the warlord, then FD in the back of his room. The goblin by him will activate as soon as the Warlord is agroed, so he will run past the party and flip the statue on. Kill the statue, then deal with the Warlord afterwards. The statue is the easier of the two anyways. Good luck all !

Yes, that is why the reward is so low. This mission can be done really fast, almost like the drake eggs for ebon crystals.

I'm surprised no one has posted this method already.

I just finished this mission and it's not very hard.

You have to find an Animated Statue Plans which drops off a goblin warlord, which can be found in the west side of the zone.

ATTENTION - when you pull the warlord, a guard that's next to him (untargetable at first) aggros which in turns pulls a stone statue standing in the next room, therefore you get 2 names as adds.

a Stone statue hits for about 800 and is mezzable by a bard.

a warlord goblin hits for 1K but (ok I don't know if he is saying it doesn't stun much or if you can stun it well. I think it's the first)

Next you have to give the animated statue plans to Kanetheus Forestwalker in Lavastorm.

You get 34 crystals as reward.

Sorry but i write in french because my english is not very good :)

I have completed this DON mission several times and even failed it a couple times due to too little DPS and too many ppl doing things their own way.

Starts out at the normal DON mission good side camp, dont know if there is an evil corresponding mission. This instanced zone repops but is not a problem if you manage it correctly.

I have found this mission to be the fastest mission I have done. When your group is balanced and has sufficient DPS, (not necessarily elemental but jus not bazaar equipment), then it goes very fast.

It doesnt tell you much in the description but you will end up taking a single group mission to Stillmoon temple. You start out in the far west small closet/bedroom of stillmoon (its actually south-east off the west most room). You can buff in there and even zone out if you step on the trapdoor (ppl do it all the time by accident). All the mobs are now scaled to the average level of your group. Oh by the way almost every single mob runs, so have a designated snare person.

After buffing in the bedroom you need to take out the two sentinals guarding the doorway. Just pacify one at a time and if you watch your push, the second one wont add during the fight. After that there is one sentinal that roams from the bathhouse to the garden. He might be standing just outside the bedroom door. Once you clear this 1 roamer you can move the group to the small hallway between the bathhouse and the garden. Just ignore all the other mobs in the garden. They dont add and dont aggro. No invis needed, just run the group to the next spot in the hallway.

The hallway is camp2 pull one more roamer little dude from the bathhouse and then the two sentinals that guard the door to the "bridge" room. The sentinals will need pacify or you will get both. Once both sentinals are dispached, you will need to get across the bridge. To do this you will need to pacify and pull the two-three little dudes on the right geyser. They will always add if you try to work around them. Next is the Horse/goat "Teacher" that is on the middle of the bridge.

Once the teacher is dead move your group across all bridges and into the eastern hallway. This is camp3 you will need to take out the one sentinal roamer and the two sentinals stationed a little ways up. Again use pacify or get both on a pull. Camp3 is actually three locations in the long hallway. Have your group move up twice again as you clear two more sets of sentinal hall guards. Othewise its just a dang long pull.

Camp4 is in the hallway just before (but around the corner) from the animated statue room. You dont want to be fighting right at the edge of the statue room. The roamers will roam by and add to your fight. Make your camp in the hall way east of the statue room and around the corner. (The statue room is the large room at end of east hall) You will need to take out all the mobs in the statue room EXCEPT the statue and its own little helper dudes. They are non-aggro at this point. Key thing now is DPS and nobody dying, because when you are at the final fight you will need to mez this statue and you dont want 8 additional roamer adds because you took too long and this room repopped. OK, so you clear the 5-7 mobs in this statue room, drakes and little dudes.

Camp5 is in the north west hallway between the statue room and the small circular room just north of it. (dont even bother with the small circle room on the east north east side of the statue room.) Nothing roams that little hallway stretch but if you take too long and the statue room repops, they will come to get you. From camp5 pull the two sentinals in the circular room and begin to clear the warlord room. (the next big room to the north) Your goal here is to pull all the mobs in the warlord room so that your final fight can be in there with him. You will need some room for the fight because he flurries and enrages and it gets hectic sometimes. He is actually tuffer then the actual animated statue that this instanced is named for. He can be pacified just fine as you clear all the other roamers from around him in there.

Camp6 is just inside the warlord room. When you are ready have the puller tag the warlord and have somebody hit him with tash or malo so slow can land early. You dont want him to flurry at full speed and take out your tank in 9 seconds. One important thing here is that your designated mezzer bard/enchanter be watching the tiny helper runner who will immediately run to the south and do a "tag you're it" to the animated statue. If you did this fast enough, there will be no other mobs in the statue room and he will come charging by himself to the warlord fight. He is simple to mez, usually no tash/malo needed and just keep him mezzed during the warlord fight. PPl can rest up a little, get some mana back, and then engage the animated statue at their leisure.

Now you need to exit the dungeon? well there is another zone out just off of the warlord room. It is in the north east room from there. Sometimes there is one more mob to kill or you can just rush to the zoneout.

Watch the messages during the quest and read this guide when you have a map to look at and you shouldnt go wrong. Keep in mind that you need to do a turn-in at the end, so dont just think you won and quit out for the night. Take the plans back to the quest-giver and get your crystals. Everybody in your group does not have to return but I dont think that the quest giver would be happy if they just remove the quest (like ppl do during creator misison) before he gets his "plans".
