The Broodlands: Touch the portal to Thundercrest Isles
Task dialogue needed. Thundercrest Isles: Confront Yar`Lir Task dialogue needed. Thundercrest Isles: Kill Yar`Lir Task dialogue needed. Make your way to the isles in the sky. There you will find the great tempest dragon. We want to show a hand of good faith, but do proceed with care. We are almost certain this will be a hopeless mission and you will more than likely be required to defend yourself. Should she wish to see the end of the Norrathians for invading her home, then you must do what is necessary to prevent it. Reward(s): Norrath's Keepers Token 8 Radiant Crystals Yar`Lir the Matriarch changes names and spawns level 70 "an instable storm" during the encounter. She procs Tempest Wind and Icicle Blizzard, while the adds proc Forcequake. Different forms include Yar`Lir the Living Storm, Yar`Lir the Hurricane`s Eye, and Yar`Lir the Mistress of Winds. She drops 9 x Yar`Lir's Fang, used for Dragons of Norrath progression. Need additional fight info, list of different names and abilities of various incarnations of Yar`Lir, information on which incarnation drops which loot, quest-giver(s), /loc of quest-giver(s), additional task dialogues, faction hits if any, minimum number of players required to get task. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Yar'Lir fangs are no prelootable if you do this quest withothers that can and you do not have the faction. Even if you get the faction later he will not except the fangs. This seems to pertain to all the end items in the DON raid quests.

Easy solo for monk; in Matriarch form she pops adds that need to be dealt with, all her other forms are cake.
Be warned: the door locks a short while into the fight and does NOT unlock upon completion. So if you're boxing you can do like i did and run all toons inside the room and camp the ones you dont need out.

We're close, damn close each time we attempt, but I figure there's something we haven't noticed that we're not doing.
Some of us report getting hit less with the AE's when standing under the 'porch' areas around her room. Others report that standing in front of the 'water' closer to the center saw significant reduction in the AE damage.
What's the sure fire strategy to this?

The names give hints to how to beat it. For example, what is special about the eye of a hurricane?
Don't want to give away the whole thing. Half the fun is figuring it out. Farming it afterwards actually can be a real snoozefest.

Basically DPS fight.
Bury everyone including the clerics underneath him, right on his target ring. The rampage seems random. Like sometimes I don't seem to get hit much at all and I think that I found the perfect spot, then boom I get hit.
Spread out group healers in each group. As a pally I have my 65 & 70 group heals loaded. That is enought to get my group through the fight.
DPS, the faster you kill, the less chance your tank takes an unlucky round. Keep DI on him making sure to recast if it fires.
