Anniversary events tend to run from mid-March to mid-April (sometimes to mid-May) each year. They are not available during the "off season".

For an overview and list of EverQuest Anniversary events, see this quest entry.

Find Sarvil Amberstone in the Dreadlands, located near the wizard and druid portals, or Nilvara Rishal in Firiona Vie at 787.87, -1974.70, 143.10, just outside the elven faction outpost.

You say, 'Hail, Sarvil Amberstone'

Sarvil Amberstone says, 'Hail, _____! I'm glad you finally found me. I thought you looked like someone who might help me out. Are you [prepared] to risk life and limb to assist me?'

You say, 'I am prepared'

Sarvil Amberstone says, 'I thought as much. In return for your help I'd be happy to give you this potion here. It's got some wonderful benefits to it that I'm sure you'll enjoy. All you need to do is collect a few things for me from around the continent. It's mostly easy and only a little dangerous, I swear. Are you still [interested]?'

You say, 'I am still interested'

Sarvil Amberstone says, 'Perfect! As I said I thought you were someone who could help me. I'm sure you'll have fun along the way with this. Here is a bag to combine the items in and a cheat-sheet to help you along in your search. Don't go asking me for any more hints, I won't give them. Return to me once you've gathered all the items and we'll see how you did. Good luck!'

Receive Collector's Cheat Sheet, with text:

1) These conflicted strands are a badge of honor
2) This pouch is crafted from finer things than leather
3) Weigh your options before seeking these
4) A crumbling intellect can be a burden
5) It towers above, but these help it grow below
6) The rhyme of the mountains
7) Cursing can be heard whenever this is used
8) Their bark is the least of your worries
9) Fans the swarming flame
10) Grown from the seeds of failure

What is really asked for:

1) A Collector's Sarnak War Braid (Sarnaks in The Overthere)
2) A Collector's Drachnid Web Sack (Drachnids in the Dreadlands)
3) A Collector's Bloodgill Scale (Bloodgills in Lake of Ill Omen)
4) A Collector's Brittle Iksar Skull (Skeleton in Field of Bone)
5) A Collector's Excavator Claws (Burynai Excavator in Kurn's Tower)
6) A Collector's Tump Stump (Mountain Giants in Frontier Mountains)
7) A Collector's Iksar Witch Doll (Goblins in Warsliks Woods)
8) A Collector's Canine (Drolvargs in Firiona Vie)
9) A Collector's Fire Hornet Wing (Hornets in Burning Wood)
10) A Collector's Nohope Moss (Froglok's in Swamp of No Hope)

Combine these 10 items in your collector's bag and return the result to Sarvil for your reward, Ceremonial Elixir of Scholarship.

Fort Goblins is NOT correct for Item #7

Please change the walk through so it no longer reads "fort goblins" for the Collector's Iksar Doll (#7), because that is inaccurate and misleading. As many posts and my own experience indicate, those goblins do *not* drop the collector's version of the doll. I hunted them for a while because your walk through says fort goblins, so I wasted about an hour and a half of my time. After reading and following the suggestions in the posts, I found the correct doll in 5 minutes.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the dolls do indeed drop from roaming casters, but NOT at the Fort or the Rocks, or even at the Pond from what I can see. After hunting roaming goblins for about 5 mins, I got the correct drop.

Have done this quest every year since it has came out on FV server and have looted every "collector's" doll at fort. Off of bloostracers, witch doctors and sooth sayers. I have found that if you let then pop and stay popped for about 30 seconds or so, you almost always get a collector's. The biggest problem is that everyone seem to kill them as soon as they pop...usually resulting in no doll. So, I speak from experience that they DO INDEED drop from said gobbies AT the fort..no doubt about it.

Like all anniversary scavenger hunts, this can be done every year on the anniversary (March-April). It's still active as of 2010.

Tip: This scavenger hunt involves items that the mobs normally drop, but you are looking for a version called "A Collector's." The normal version and scavenger hunt version look exactly the same and both are no drop, so make sure you have the "Collector's" version before you run off to the next zone.

1. Most sarnaks seem to work. I killed the ones near FM zone line and saw over 50% drop rate.

2. The drachnids near FV/BW seem to work best. I had no luck with the ones on the snow/ice. Drop rate seems to be less than 50%.

3. There are 12-14 bloodgills underwater near the Veksar entrance. 5 are near the front of the building, and the rest can be found on top of the building at each corner. Drop rate less than 50%.

4. I had the best luck with skeletons in the north part of the zone, outside of the pit. Drop rate seemed around 50%.

5. Burynai drop this, but only in Kurn's and only in the basement. It's confusing getting around in there, but basically you want to go down as many stairs as you can until you find a deep pit you can drop down into. Drop rate was greater than 75%. There is a zone out to FoB down there as well.

6. Apparently just about any type of mountain giant can drop thi in FM. Drop rate is greater than 75%.

7. This was annoying, especially with the incorrect information in the walk through. Fort Goblins DO NOT drop this! This just happened to be the first step I started with, and I got the feeling this quest would take ages since after an hour and a half I still hadn't seen the right item (all I was getting was the normal "Iksar Witch Doll"). I also had no luck at any specific spot, such as the pond. I found a greater than 75% drop rate off of roaming caster hobgoblins.

8. There aren't very many Drolvargs in FV, not helped by the fact pilgrims and drixies will attack them. Be careful not to let a pilgrim KS you or you'll lose the corpse. The best place to hunt Drolvargs is in the east and southeast, somewhat near the water. Drop rate is greater than 50%.

9. Just about any hornet can drop it. I found a good concentration of them around the center of the zone, but there are lots of roamers so be careful if you are a lower level. Drop rate is greater than 75%.

10. Just about any frog can drop it. There is a huge city of frogs in the southeast corner of the zone, but frogs roam all over SONH, so finding one won't take long. Drop rate is greater than 75%.

Arcturys do some actual legwork before you post like that. I just got two Collector dolls, from inside the fort. Drops off of both Witchdoctors and Bloodtracers. Edit your post and give the correct information.

What actual legwork did you have in mind? Something like the 2 hours I spent there, and the hours other people spent there before me, with me, and after me, with not a single collector's doll dropping? We hunted those mobs, killed dozens and dozens of them. As of the time of my post and my experience, the only dolls that dropped in the fort are non-collector's versions, the same dolls that have dropped from them for years. Either there is a difference from server to server, a patch recently "fixed" the drops, or you are mistaken about what you claim to have found.

And yes, I do take offense to your comment. As you can see by my post, I put in plenty of "legwork." I re-posted everything from my own experience. That didn't just come out of my butt and appear magically on the screen. Several hours of work went into that. So I'll kindly thank you to not post remarks if you don't have anything constructive to contribute yourself.

Go ahead and click on the link to Collector's Iksar Witch Doll up above, and read all the posts there. You'll see I'm one of many people that aren't finding it in the fort. I hate to say I doubt the veracity of your claim, but not one person on my server has said they've found the collector's doll on those mobs, and many, many other people say the same thing, including other posts on Alla's.

I did this quest not 10 minutes ago for 2 alts simultaneously, AE pulled all of the Fort goblins together and had a total of 4 drops. Total time spent in zone was 6 minutes resulting in two rots, I only killed Fort mobs as I entered from FoB.

Last year I cleared the Fort a couple of times without a single drop, killed a couple of roamers while I waited for the static spawns to repop and got my drop of a roamer instead. The only constant is that the drop comes from the casters, it doesn't matter where they spawn in the slightest.

Good writeup, but truthfully, I think this quest (which was already cake) was made MUCH easier this year.

I just completed the quest, start to finish, in just over an hour -- without even a SoW. In every single zone, I looted that zone's drop in no more than 10 kills -- most less than five, with three on the very first. While making my quest run, several other players within two zones ahead of or behind me (we all pretty much ran the same route, a derivative of Necessity's but starting in Dreadlands) reported similar ease.

I got the WW drop from the very first goblin camp I came across -- on the WEST SIDE of the river -- on the path from OT to the goblin fort. Another one dropped inside the fort itself, and one was also on the fabled earring mob I whacked on the way to FoB. The Swamp drop has been confirmed as a zonewide drop off any froglok -- mine was from a froglok vis shaman on the very northern fringe of the swamp. Same deal with the FM drop -- I got it from the second giant I encountered as I exited the tunnel from BW, well away from the giant fort.

In talking to several guildies and folks on general chat that have done this quest this year for alts or boxes, it seems like the drop rates have been increased big time. Maybe it's a 10th anniversary present or something.

Ok Im getting impatient about the warsliks woods goblin drop.

I have been 2 boxing this quest with an 82 shaman and 74 shadowknight.

For one character I acquired the drop after maybe 3 kills on the east road that goes north/ south- specifically about halfway down it.....as the above posts have indicated

However, with the second toon, Ive hunted up and down it 2 times, all over the west side and in the fort a and nothing the collective doll isnt dropping.

Im hoping it doesnt have anything to do with my first character, who just finished the quest, tht is doing all the killing and maybe the loot table doesnt drop the collective doll to character that has completed the quest?

Going to start killing gobs with my sk just in case.

Any thoughts?

I'd like to correct one thing in ur post Necessity. Under your note you state that this is a 30 min 50% xp boost when in fact it is a 30 min 100% xp boost as stated on the link under the item as well as from personal experience doing the quest and using for every char i have.

I'm not sure if it is common but the Sarnak Berserkers weren't dropping the "A Collector's Sarnak War Braid" but when I killed "A Sarnak overlord" dropped on the first shot.

BTW, I went to the east side of hte zone. Hunted goblins just in and around the hills. Found in there in a few minutes. I had previously hunted in the fort and all the places around the fort (the one to North in Warsliks). I am not sure that it is from that area. Go to East or SE or elsewhere.

however, both of these guys are (stupidly) linked. i did the outpost quest, and then tried to talk to the DL guy (never set eyes or hail on him before) and despite him calling out to you when you enter the zone, he will say "you have heard this all before"

id suggest if you have never done either of these events, try getting both bags from the separate guys to see if you can get two xp potions. at the very least, do the combine on one so you have the combined bag, and then ask the next guy for a bag to see if it works. you should be able to get two of these, imho.
