EQ Sixth Anniversary Scavenger Hunt

Anniversary events tend to run from mid-March to mid-April (sometimes to mid-May) each year. They are not available during the "off season".

Find Sarvil Amberstone in the Dreadlands, located near the wizard and druid portals, or Nilvara Rishal in Firiona Vie at 787.87, -1974.70, 143.10, just outside the elven faction outpost. You say, 'Hail, Sarvil Amberstone' Sarvil Amberstone says, 'Hail, _____! I'm glad you finally found me. I thought you looked like someone who might help me out. Are you [prepared] to risk life and limb to assist me?' You say, 'I am prepared' Sarvil Amberstone says, 'I thought as much. In return for your help I'd be happy to give you this potion here. It's got some wonderful benefits to it that I'm sure you'll enjoy. All you need to do is collect a few things for me from around the continent. It's mostly easy and only a little dangerous, I swear. Are you still [interested]?' You say, 'I am still interested' Sarvil Amberstone says, 'Perfect! As I said I thought you were someone who could help me. I'm sure you'll have fun along the way with this. Here is a bag to combine the items in and a cheat-sheet to help you along in your search. Don't go asking me for any more hints, I won't give them. Killed at least 200 hornets tonight for a guildie, and not one collector wing dropped. No one else in zone got one either. Not sure if it's broken or what. Did get one at around 4cst though.
First kill off a Scoriae Hornet... I was going back to DL after getting fabled tattered mantle and ran into one.. first kill got the wing.. Luck iguess

Got one today on Maelin Starpyre after countless kills.....almost there
These were easy for me to solo with my level 50 druid with KEI and Virtue buffs. Virtue really wouldn't have been necessary, as I just rooted them and DOT'd with Drifting Death and Drones of Doom. I had only one add during about 3hrs in the zone, but they will agro if you are too close.

Try killing hornets outside the nest area to get the wing. I got mine in the area north of Hornet corner, on the way to the Skyfire zoneline....

yeah still drop just seems to be really rare on their drops. had 2 drop back to back after me and another were camping for the wings.

Hi,
never tried the hornet camp. But heard that some killed 100 hornets there without any luck.
Someone told me to try the path between hornet camp and the pit in the middle.
I killed 3 hornets and got my wing. Prolly I was only lucky.

I camped at the hornet nest for a couple of hours and didn't get one. Then I tried the ash hornets neared to the Dreadlands zone and got one after three kills.
Yep.Got mine on the way to hornets nest.Dropped off an ash hornet.Got mine on the first kill.Those witch dolls drop almost everytime south of the fort in WW by the way.Mostly off the wanderers.

The hornets you need to kill " A Cinder Hornet", I've done the quest 3 times with 3 of my characters. I've also helped 4 others in the quest. 5 kills max hunting the Cinder Hornets and get a drop.http://everquest.allakhazam.com/shared/smilies/yippee.gif

Ash Hornets dropped them too, and I think the Ember Hornets as well. Never saw one drop of Scorea Hornets though.

got mine off of a cinder hornet today after 5 kills, there were several other people there with me who had been there an hour or so without a drop =\
