Dialogues, items, NPC information needed to fill in the gaps here.

Obtain required faction

The Norrath's Keepers camp can be found in the Lavastorm Mountains tunnels leading to The Broodlands.

In order to begin more advanced tasks within the Norrath's Keepers camp, you must be of indifferent faction or higher. You can reach this faction by doing various solo or single group tasks.

Solo tasks are given out on on behalf of the Norrath's Keepers at the Wayfarers Camp by Wayfarers Mercenaries Bitral and Elanye (/loc +2240, -25, +70). Kanetheus Forestwalker, Bianca Galbraith, Boldger Bristlebeard, and Gordish Frozenheart offer single group tasks at the Norrath Keepers camp.

Upon completing solo tasks, you receive experience and the following faction hits:

+Norrath's Keepers
+Firiona Vie
-Dark Reign
-Lanys T`Vyl

You may only receive group tasks yourself if you are already at indifferent faction, but if you complete them with someone else, you will receive Radiant Crystals, which can be used to purchase items from Tatsujiro the Serene (once you are at indifferent faction or better), and a Norrath's Keepers Token, which you can turn in to Tatsujiro for the aforementioned faction hits.

Tier 1: Gift of the Keepers

Upon reaching indifferent faction with Norrath's Keepers, you are able to do more advanced missions for the good side, provided you are at least level 65.

Begin by speaking with Chieftain Relae Aderi.

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi nods his head in acknowledgement and smiles. 'Welcome to the Norrath's Keepers' enclave. We are busy protecting the way of the right and honorable now. Our world is at a crossroads and we must endeavor to ensure we maintain order as much as we can. Should you wish to [help] us, do say so.'

You say, 'I wish to help you.'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Those are encouraging words and we will gladly take your offer. Please see Nylaen Kel`Ther, my trusted friend. While his tasks may not seem glorious, they are necessary for us to gain a foothold against the Dark Reign, the followers of Lanys T`Vyl, the Child of Hate. They have their grim eyes set on seeing the end of us all. To begin, from the volcano, we need ingredients to create an antidote, help collecting Delvian teeth for our arrowheads, and handling goblin greed in the Stillmoon Temple. When you satisfy these needs, then we shall speak again.'

You have received a character flag!

Now talk with Private Nylaen Kel`Ther, next to Chieftain Relae Aderi. Note that you must be at least level 65 to receive the tier 1 quests.

You say, 'Hail, Private Nylaen Kel`Ther'

You have been assigned the task 'Creating an Antidote'.
You have been assigned the task 'Burning Arrows'.
You have been assigned the task 'Greed of the Goblins'.

Private Nylaen Kel`Ther says 'We all have the opportunity to rise to greatness with Norrath's Keepers and our honorable allies across the lands.'

The tasks are as follows:

"Creating an Antidote" -- Loot five Boiling Lavaspinner Bloods from Lavaspinner's Lair
"Burning Arrows" -- Loot five Delvian Goblin Teeth from Tirranun's Delve
"Greed of the Goblins" -- Kill 11 Stillmoon Laborers in Stillmoon Temple

Upon completing these tasks, speak with Chieftain Relae Aderi:

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Welcome back, ______. News of your good deeds is passing quickly through our ranks. I wish we could say your work is done here, but it is not. The goblins of Tirranun's Delve heard of your efforts against their kin in the Stillmoon Temple and they have vowed revenge. One in particular, Gimblax, plans to hunt you down. We know where he is now and if you move quickly, perhaps you can reach him first. Speak to Dilar Nelune and he will give you further guidance.'

You have received a character flag!

Speak to Keeper Dilar Nelune. You will receive a single-group task, "Children of Gimblax." The average level in the group must be at least 68.

"Children of Gimblax" -- You must hunt down and kill the goblin Gimblax in Tirranun's Delve.

Upon completion of this task, speak with Chieftain Relae Aderi.

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'It is time to repay you for all you have done. Firiona Vie has chosen to share a divine gift with you that will only grow stronger if you continue to help us. This magic to be instilled with you is a fitting reward, but you will fast lose it should you ever aid the Dark Reign -- in fact, it will disappear instantly!'

You have received a character flag!
You have gained an ability point! You now have [XX] ability points.
You have gained the ability "Gift of the Keepers" at a cost of 0 ability points.

The new ability "Gift of the Keepers" gives a maximum stats increase of 10 per stat.

Tier 2: Valor of the Keepers

You must have amiable faction standing or better to obtain Tier 2 tasks. First speak with Chieftain Relae Aderi again:

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'I am delighted to see that you got to Gimblax before he was able to get to you. It would be a great loss to us if he were to find you and carry out his plans! You have done so well for us that we have much more for you to do if you are still willing. If you wish to help us turn the sand goblins' anger, recover the lost map, and protect our kirin contact, please speak to Nylaen Kel`Ther and he will give you more [work]. May the light of the world shine upon you, ______!'

You say, 'What work?'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'This may be presumptuous and I'm not certain the kind of company you keep, but should you find the will and way, there are stories of a dragon of lava that goes by the very name of that volcano, Tirranun. We have found an entrance that would seem to lead to its lair, but none of us have found the numbers or bravery to attempt to find it. With your associations, perhaps you would have better luck, at your leisure of course. We must learn all we can about the dragons for we fear that the Dark Reign wish to gain control over them to use against us. In the meantime, we have bestowed upon you a reward for your assistance. Safe travels, ______.'

You have received a character flag!

Speak with Private Nylaen Kel`Ther if you are at least level 67:

You say, 'Hail, Private Nylaen Kel`Ther'

You have been assigned the task 'Turn the Tides of the Sand'.
You have been assigned the task 'Recover the Lost Map'.
You have been assigned the task 'Defend the Kirin Contact'.

Private Nylaen Kel`Ther says 'We all have the opportunity to rise to greatness with Norrath's Keepers and our honorable allies across the lands.'

You receive three new tasks which may be accomplished solo or in a group:

"Turn the Tides of the Sand" -- Loot seven Sandy Goblin Bloods from Stillmoon Temple
"Recover the Lost Map" -- Loot eight Shredded Map Pieces from The Ascent
"Defend the Kirin Contact" -- Kill nine Kirins in The Ascent

Upon completing these tasks, you can speak with Keeper Dilar Nelune to receive a group mission called "Sickness of the Spirit."

Once that is complete, speak with Chieftain Relae Aderi:

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Your advancement and accomplishments are many and you have our gratitude, but I must implore you to continue to help us. There are few as capable as you to accept the challenges that lie ahead. Dilar Nelune has been charged with giving you the information needed to making an offering of peace and reassurance to our kirin contact. Also, I have permitted Ekiltu Verlor to give you access to all the information you would need to bring an end to the terrible dervish, Emoush. Bring me evidence you have overcome this challenge.'

You have received a character flag!

After that, speak with Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor to be offered your first raid event:

"Calling Emoush" -- 24-player raid in Tirranun's Delve, results in Glowing Stone Fragment

Loot the Glowing Stone Fragment from Emoush the Destroyer and bring it to the Chieftain.

You have received a character flag!

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Norrath's Keepers acknowledges your steadfastness and resolve in our name and Firiona herself wishes to strengthen the gift she has bestowed upon you so you may serve us with greater power.'

You have received a character flag!
You have gained an ability point! You now have 2 ability points.
You have gained the ability "Valor of the Keepers" at a cost of 0 ability points.

Valor of the Keepers adds 250 hp/mana/end to your base stats. You also receive your 69th level spell/tome.

Class - Spell/Skill
Bard - Spell: Storm Blade
Beastlord - Spell: Growl of the Panther
Berserker - Tome of Destroyer's Volley

Tier 3: Embrace of the Keepers

You must have high amiable faction standing or better to obtain Tier 3 tasks. You must also be at least 68th level (possible at 67th?) to request the tasks.

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi bows as he recognizes you. 'Your good deeds in the name of the Keepers is gaining you a great reputation and the requests for your assistance come from more and more places. I would ask you to continue with your good work and we still have several tasks you may be interested in. Your skill and prowess have earned you entrance into the more [lauded] circles of our ranks, so what we ask now is of greater importance.'

You have received a character flag!

You say, 'Lauded?'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Indeed. The people who now know and respect you are some of the closest to Firiona Vie, the Chosen of Tunare, and the leader of Norrath's Keepers. If you wish to stand alongside those who support and serve the Chosen, then you must continue to prove your worth as they all did. There are many [quests] that must be undertaken. You must speak to Nylaen Kel`Ther for those. And you must meet Areha Burina. She has uncovered a path to the [wyrms] of Stillmoon Temple, though our interest in them right now isn't immediate or required.'

You say, 'What quests?'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'You must protect the purity of the waters of Stillmoon Temple, secure the knowledge of the scrolls of the temple, and thwart the attack of the Snowfoot goblins. Speak to Nylaen again and he will give you more information. When you are successful, return to me and I will direct you to my officers for more challenging work.'

You say, 'What wyrms?'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'There are two dragons that protect and serve in the Stillmoon Temple and Ascent -- Rikkukin and Kessdona. They are mates of a breed of dragon made of precious metals. They are believed to be the first children of Veeshan on Norrath. They are dragons of great wisdom and knowledge, but don't be fooled by their sleek beauty. Once in the past, I believe dragons of their kind had betrayed our own Firiona. We fear they intend to betray the good of Norrath too if we lend our minds and hearts to them. You will nearly need an army of your own to overcome these dragons and we have no requirement of you to that end, but they are yours to discover.'

Speak with Private Nylaen Kel`Ther.

You say, 'Hail, Private Nylaen Kel`Ther'

You have been assigned the task 'Protect the Waters'.
You have been assigned the task 'The Sacred Scrolls'.
You have been assigned the task 'Snowfoot Revenge'.

"Protect the Waters" -- Loot five Purified Nest Waters from Stillmoon Temple
"The Sacred Scrolls" -- Loot seven Ancient Scrolls of Wisdom from Thundercrest Isles
"Snowfoot Revenge" -- Kill 10 Snowfoot Goblins in The Ascent

Speak with the Chieftain, and then to Keeper Dilar Nelune. This will open a group mission:

"History of the Isle"

After that, speak with Chieftain Relae Aderi:

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi nods. 'We are always on the defensive and must continue to keep our minds and spirits up and charging ahead. The tasks we present to you now are more daunting. Having proven yourself and gained our trust brings greater challenges to you. We ask you to learn the history of Thundercrest Isle, endure a Trial of Perseverance issued by the goblins in the Stillmoon Temple, and take on the great spider queen, Volkara. You'll need to speak to Ekiltu Verlor for particulars and then you must return to me and give me proof you have overcome these tasks. And do introduce yourself to Areha Burina.'

You have received a character flag!

After that, speaking with Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor will open up two more raid events:

"Trial of Perseverance" -- 24-player raid in Stillmoon Temple, results in Goblin Warlord's Beads from A Stillmoon Warlord.

"Volkara's Bite" -- 42-player raid in Lavaspinner's Lair, results in Lava Spider Spinners

Upon successful completion, loot the Goblin Warlord's Beads at the end of the Perseverance trial from a Stillmoon warlord and the Lava Spider Spinners from Volkara. Turning these two items in to the Chieftain results in:

-Two AAs
-New ability: Embrace of the Keepers (increase buff slot limit)

After completing Tier 3, Boldger Bristlebeard will offer three new group tasks (unrelated to progress): Forbin's Elixir, Infested, and Storming the Goblin Temple.

Tier 4: Power of the Keepers

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Every day we learn more about the Nest and, sadly, the intentions of the Dark Reign toward the good folk of Norrath. These are indeed troubling times, but I have no doubt that we will prevail with Firiona at our side. Go speak to Ekiltu Verlor. With your skills and talents, we believe you may have a good chance to overcome Shogurei, the Guardian of the Sands. With a smaller force, you may be able to accept the challenge issued by the goblins of Thundercrest Isles. We must attempt to beat this trial ahead of the Dark Reign so that perhaps the goblins may favour us and ease their anger towards us. You must bring proof you have conquered both of these tasks.'

You have received a character flag!

You must have kindly faction standing or better to obtain Tier 4 tasks. Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor now has two new raid events:

"Guardian of the Sands" -- 42-player raid in Stillmoon Temple, results in Quintessence of Sand

"Goblin Dojo" -- 24-player raid in Thundercrest Isles, killing the goblin Storm Reach Sensei results in Meditation Stone

Loot the Meditation Stone from the goblin raid, and Quintessence of Sand from the Guardian of the Sands. Bring them back to Chieftain Relae Aderi for a character flag. Go through the dialogue and receive another raid mission:

"An End to the Storms" -- 54-player raid in Thundercrest Isles, results in Yar`Lir's Fang

Upon giving Chieftain Relae Aderi the fang, receive:
-Two AAs
-New ability, Power of the Keepers (chance increase of critical hits/blasts, heals, and DoTs)

Tier 5: Sanctity of the Keepers

You must have warmly faction standing or better to obtain Tier 5 tasks. Continue speaking with the Chieftain.

You say, 'Hail, Chieftain Relae Aderi'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says, 'As we feared, Yar'lir was not kind to us, but it is to be expected. This fang will be treasured and protected while our researcher study it. It is not time to dawdle though. I'm sure you're already aware that the death of Yar'Lir caused a great disturbance in the Nest. Each time the storm dragon's magic is interrupted, the Nest and resting place of the eggs of the Nest's dragons become darker and we're not sure why. In order to learn more, please talk to Dilar Nelune and Ekiltu Verlor. They have new work for you -- to investigate a curse in the Nest and to learn about a dark drake by the name of Ju'rek. You will need to bring me proof of your success.'

Receive a group mission and a raid:

"Origins of the Curse" -- The Accursed Nest

"The Curse of Ju`rek" -- 24-player raid in The Accursed Nest, results in Diseased Wing Fragments from Ju`rek the Corrupted.

When the raid is complete, hand in the Diseased Wing Fragments.

You have received a character flag!

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Gracious, that curse certainly seems to run deep. You have accomplished what very few have been able to and we'd like to reward you. As you may have already ascertained, there is a [dragon] in the Nest that we have yet to confront. That falls to you now.'

You say, 'Dragon?'

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'We hear that the dragon in the Nest was Yar'Lir's mate, also a dragon of storms. But as you confronted Yar'Lir and disrupted her magic, the twisting caverns of the Nest were fully bared and a sickly darkness washed over them. It seems the curse you investigated was somehow unleashed at that moment and the dragon of the Nest was touched and darkened by it, but we don't know more than that. He is angry, though, without question. Speak to Areha Burina.'

You have received a character flag!

Captain Areha Burina is located due west from the campfire in the middle of the Norrath's Keepers camp, at +3635, +575.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Areha Burina'

Captain Areha Burina bows. 'I see a good heart in you and a measure of bravery. Serve Firiona Vie and Norrath's Keepers well!'

You receive:

"In the Shadows" -- 54-player raid in The Accursed Nest, results in Shadowscale of Vishimtar from Vishimtar the Fallen.

Hand this in to Chieftain Relae Aderi.

You have received a character flag!

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Your wondrous deeds will become woven into bards' songs, ______! You are a soldier of balance and good and for that Firiona is granting the greatest divine gift that any more can bear. Use it well and continue your service of keeping evil at bay, ______.'

You have received a character flag!
You have gained an ability point! You now have 2 ability points.
You have gained the ability "Sanctity of the Keepers" at a cost of 0 ability points.

Sanctity of the Keepers increases your ability to resist detrimental spells.

Make sure you have completed "Origins of the Curse" before handing in the items, or he may eat them.

Since all of these expansions since DoN is there any real benefit to doing this progression?

Can the raids be soloed or is it a hard requirement? i.e. 24, 36, 54 player raids

I guess you'd have to make that call for yourself, as 'any real benefit' is entirely subjective and relative, however, the Alla walkthru has conveniently notated there are permanent gains for completing the various tiers -- for instance, to summarise from a quick Google search which returned several useful hits; like this one from the website GoBerzerker:
GoBerzerker wrote:
Tier 1 consists of 3 solo tasks and 1 group task. The end result is the AA “Gift of the Keepers” (good) “Gift of the Dark Reign” (evil) which gives +10 to all stats and +10 to all stat caps

Cooze62 wrote:

It appears it is possible to solo, or, at least duo with a merc the raids at a high enough level:
hegegrollmithmarr wrote:
The raids were completely trivial at level 90 for a 90 warrior/cleric/wizard combo, except for the last one ("In the Shadows"). The group missions are easily solod at level 90.

Our friend Heg goes on to elaborate:
hegegrollmithmarr wrote:
You need a party of three players to request a group mission, and a party of six players to request a raid. After requesting it, the other players can drop the group(but not the raid/mission!), they dont have to participate. You have to suspend mercenaries before requesting a raid.

How I did it
# Oct 22 2011 at 1:43 PM Rating: Decent
It took me 3-4 Norrath's Keepers Token turnins to reach indifferent with Norrath's Keepers.
Then it took another 3-4 tokens to reach amiable.
Exactly 19 token turnins + 6 solo tasks (T1 + T2 progression) to reach kindly.
Another 10 tokens + 3 solo tasks (T3 progression) to reach warmly.

Remember that you get tokens from the progression missions and raids, too.

The raids were completely trivial at level 90 for a 90 warrior/cleric/wizard combo, except for the last one ("In the Shadows"). The group missions are easily solod at level 90.

There is a 45 minute lockout between missions. I did "Children of Gimblax" (the T1 progression mission) until "The Creator" became available (either at indifferent faction or at amiable, dont remember). With a fellowship campfire at the mission npc and teleport bind outside the instance, "The Creator" took me about 10 minutes from start to finish.

You need a party of three players to request a group mission, and a party of six players to request a raid. After requesting it, the other players can drop the group(but not the raid/mission!), they dont have to participate. You have to suspend mercenaries before requesting a raid.

What miniscule amount of faction is each token worth? I have handed in so many of these and am still kindly. This is by far the worst faction grind of them all.

Kill the guards, that's the only reason they are there. Even killing passively and doing just a couple missions a month, I get my alts to warmly in no time at all.

Incidently, I reached max ally with Keeper's BEFORE I reached max KoS with DR, which I thought was a bit funny.

Elaborate & Intricate binding poweders, Cobalt ore

Something I noticed while doing these DoN missions. The caster mobs drop elaborate and intricate binding powders, pretty frequently. Frequently enough to be noticeable, anyways. Also drop cobalt ore.

Why should you care? Because you can skill up research and smithing on those to 300.

I'm going to start farming these for the powders, I reckon. The exp sucks, the loot is so-so, but the drop rate for powders can't be beat. Beats loping plains orcs/goblins by a mile.

I had amiable and could not get the tasks to start T3 progression. Did a few missions for faction. Eventually I was able to get the tasks, yet I am still amiable. Guess it's not a fine line but somewhere in the middle unless there are prequisite quests for it that I happened to do during factioning. Some of the quests I did to faction were the Creator and Animated Statue Plans.

We just did the Emoush raid last night, I got a fragment, turned it in and got my 2 AAs and the Valor of the Keepers. I then hailed every person in that room and could not get any flags or any hint that I would be able to do the Tier 3 solo missions. I am amiable to them and am lvl 84. Is there a certain level of amiable I need to be to get them or am I missing something? Any information would be helpful. In the meantime, I'll be running some non-progression missions for faction. Thanks.

Yes, you need mid-Kindly. For the most part, a single shared group task token turn in will get you there, although I have heard of a few needing two, but they must have just barely been Amiable. Don't count on raid task tokens, as I turned many to see how many it would take to change faction level, and after 40+ and no change, I started doing group missions again (only takes five Creators / faction level).

EDIT: Actually mid-kindly not amiable for T3, T1=Indifferent, T2=Amiable, T3=Kindly, T4=Warmly, T5=Ally, if I recall them correctly. Apparently, I didn't recall coreectly. Definitely one of the Tiers is more than just barely into the faction level however.

Tier 1 solo tasks can be started at lvl 65 with Indifferent faction, however the group mission has to be gotten with an average group lvl of 68 or higher. That isn't posted on here and really screwed us up. Also Tier 2 solo mission CAN be requested at lvl 67 with amiably faction, however I'm going to ASSUME (havn't finished solo tasks yet) the group mission also has to have an average party lvl of 68.

Ok, looked at the mobs for this zone and neither Bitral or Elanye are anywhere in Lava Storm. So which Wayfarers camp in what zone are the Solo Tasks given?

I was also able to hand in my Diseased Wing Fragments and my Shadowscale of Vishimtar the Fallen, and then do "Origins of the Curse" after and still get my Tier 5 complete.

I did an open Emoush raid a while back and looted my Glowing Stone Fragment, since I was one of the winners of the roll. At that time, I had not done ANY DoN progression.

I've not begun the DoN progression I should have done long ago, and my question is this: since I already went on the raid, and already looted my fragment, I know I have to complete my Tier 1 progress, but AFTER I have completed all of Tier 1, and the solo tasks for Tier 2, do I have to redo the raid on Emoush, or can I simply turn in the fragment since I have already participated in that raid once?

When your starting the Tier 1. u can do all the solo parts and not have to finsh the grp task to get into step 2. same goes with the step 2 grp task, just have to do the solo parts and the emoush raid. when u hit the part where it syas u have to do the fist grp task "Children of Gimblax" just hail the quest giver exit the quest window and hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to get ur aa's + aa reward. same for the 2nd grp task Sickness of the Spirit hail the quest giver. exit the window hail the chief and turn in your fragment from emoush (if you have it) and bam easy as that. new aa reward 2 aa's and your lvl 69 spell / tome.. dunno if this works for the next steps because i havent dont those yet..

Tier 3 does NOT begin with amiable faction. I have amiable faction and T2 completed. I am unable to get Chieftan Relae to respond to my hails with anything other than:

"Your contributions certainly do shine, xxx, but to further help us is a matter of trust. You must prove that you are ready for the higher levels of confidentiality by aiding us with more work."

I petitioned a GM and was told that even though I am amiable, I need more faction.

Amiable covers a wide range of faction. You need "high amiable" to get Tier 3 tasks. Alas, there's no way to know if you're high enough (unless you tip over into warmly) other than to keep hailing. Remember to hail the Chieftain, not just the Private. You need the flag from the chief before the private will give you T3 tasks.

Did you hail Chieftain Relae Aderi again? If so, try hailing the various other NPCs in the camp, as there may be a hidden flag required to start the next step.

Suggestion For the 'Obtain Faction Dialogue'
# Jul 28 2007 at 12:10 AM Rating: Decent
11 posts
Here is a revamped version of the 'Obtain Faction Dialogue' for the Good Progression. I would like to submit this to Allakhazam, but I'd like to get some opinions on it first.

----------

The Norrath's Keepers camp (loc +3638 +519 -8.7) can be found in the Lavastorm Mountains tunnels leading to The Broodlands.

In order to begin more advanced tasks within the Norrath's Keepers camp, you must be of indifferent faction or higher. You can reach this faction by doing various solo and group tasks. Wayfarers Mercenaries Bitral and Elanye give out solo tasks on behalf of the Norrath's Keepers at the Wayfarers Camp in Lavastorm (loc +2252 -36 +72). Upon completing these solo tasks you receive some platinum and the following faction hits:

+ Norrath's Keepers
+ Firiona Vie
- Dark Reign
- Lanys T`Vyl

Once your faction increases enough you can get solo and single group tasks at the Norrath Keepers Camp from Kanetheus Forestwalker, Gordish Frozenheart, Bianca Galbraith, and Boldger Bristlebeard. You may only receive group tasks yourself if you are already at indifferent faction, but if you complete them with someone else, you will receive Radiant Crystals, which are droppable and can be used to purchase items from Tatsujiro the Serene, and a Norrath's Keepers Token, which you can turn in to Tatsujiro for the aforementioned faction hits. If Tatsujiro will not accept your tokens at first, you can turn them into Wayfarers Mercenary Youra.

-------

Observation: The current dialogue states in part 'you will receive Radiant Crystals, which can be used to purchase items from Tatsujiro the Serene (once you are at indifferent faction or better)'. Not true.

I Invised my Ogre shaman who has not yet done any DoN quests at all and went to Tatsujiro and dropped the Invis. Tatsujiro 'looks at me threateningly' yet still opened the selling window. I have also bought augs from Tatsujiro with a DE SK with some Radiant Crystals a friend gave me before doing any DoN quests with her either. Apparently, even if you have to invis your way to Tatsujiro (and probably Xeib Darkskies in the Dark Reign camp) as long as you have Radiant or Ebon crystals, the merchants will sell to you.

That has been my experience. Can be max KoS (which I am with the evil camp) and still buy items, for the 2 vendors are non-agro, even though they might con as KoS.

I sort of remember a patch msg saying something about this though, of making them non-agro ... was quite a while ago. Prolly during the time of dodh expansion.
Keeper Token Turn-In at Wayfarers Camp
# Jul 27 2007 at 4:30 AM Rating: Decent

The Norrath's Keeper tokens can be turned into Wayfarer Mercenary Youra at the Wayfarers Camp. Once you have enough faction, you will be able to give your Keeper Tokens to Tatsujiro the Serene in the Keepers Camp. He is the same person you can use the Radiant Crystals to purchase items from.

When I first started doing DoN Keeper Faction with my DE SK, Tatsujiro would not take my Keeper Tokens. He would, however, SELL me items (a guildie gave me some Radiant Crystals to get an aug with) even though I had to invis my way to him.

Earlier today I took my Ogre shaman to Tatsujiro as an experiment. Upon reaching him I dropped the invis and conned him. He 'looks at me threateningly', yet the item window opened, so I can only assume that if I had Radiant Crystals, he would sell to me.

Apparently faction speaks, but Crystals speak louder!

It has been this way since a bit before dodh expansion (my personal time line marker for DoN progression). I switched from evil to goodie faction (as a DE necromancer) by turning all my Creator-acquired Keeper Tokens to Youra at the Wayfarers Camp, until I was indifferent to Tatsujiro.

Been this way for quite some time. At first Tatsujiro would not even take my Keeper tokens so I had to turn them in to Wayfarers Mercenary Youra. The Evil Progression description says you can turn in Dark Reign tokens to Wayfarers Mercenary Liman, but for some reason they haven't included the information about WM Youra for the Good Progression. I have submitted corrections on this but so far no results

I haven't read it anywhere in the posts below so I will ask it right away.

I am doing the raid missions and saving the turn-in items because I don't have the required faction yet.

Once I get the required faction, will those missions I have been doing count towards progression? I mean, will I then need to complete them again? I would like to be sure that I can turn in the items and advance.

After Tier 4

(I did not get the missions myself, so I do not know what the dialogue is here)
Do the group mission (Origins of the Curse) and 24-person raid (Curse of Ju'rek) as described earlier.

Hand in Diseased Wing Fragments. If you try to hand in the Shadowscale of Vishimtar at the same time, it will pop back on your cursor.

Captain Areha Burina is located due West from the campfire in the middle of the Norrath Keeper's camp, at loc 3635, 574.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Areha Burina'

Captain Areha Burina bows. 'I see a good heart in you and a measure of bravery. Serve Firiona Vie and Norrath's Keepers well!'

Accept the 54-person raid (In the Shadows) and loot a Shadowscale of Vishimtar from Vishimtar's rotting corpse.

Return to Chieftain Relae Aderi and hand him the Shadowscale of Vishimtar.

You have received a character flag!

Chieftain Relae Aderi says 'Your wondrous deeds will become woven into bards' songs, __________! You are a soldier of balance and good and for that Firiona is granting the greatest divine gift that any more can bear. Use it well and continue your service of keeping evil at bay, _________.'

You have received a character flag!
You have gained an ability point! You now have 2 ability points.

One thing I noticed recently is that Tier 4, Power of the Keepers, is the only thing in the game that I have seen that changes your wpn proc effects.

Meaning nothing else I have seen will make panther hit for 1600 instead of 800, storm blade song hit for 200 instead of 100, life tap 2 hit and heal both for 250 instead of 125, freezing strike 4 hit for 350 instead of 175, etc....

When I saw the description saying increased chance for crit hits and spell effects I thought that would just be for the normal melee wpn strikes or the same old crit hits and heals you see from casters and healers.

The benefit for us melee types of having double combat effects on all spells, wpns, augments, and songs, outweighs by far better than having increased chance of a critical hit.

Not to sound like a flame post, but duh. Tier 4 boosts your innate melee/spell crits. As any caster/hybrid can tell you... AA's effect weapon procs. A Paladin's Exceptional heal AA's allow them to crit heal themselves with weapon procs. Any classes Spell casting fury AA's (spell crit) will also allow them to crit on DD combat effects. Nice part about this is a caster can proc hard with combat effects going. (Wizard of mine has the Demi-plane "Boomstick" weapon... 1090hp low-resist DD proc on a silk caster weapon. He regularly crits with this weapon proc for 2800's... and I have seen 3K in a raid) Now if you're a warrior I can understand how this might have missed your notice as I'm not sure if Warrior's have Spell Casting Fury AA's (to boost their combat effects)... but yeah... ALL AA's effect things around you. HoT exceptional heals will allow your HoT potions to crit heal as well... and extended duration AA's will also extend your HoT potions by 2-3 ticks... doesn't sound like much I know... but counting both that's a potential extra 2K from a heal potion. Not too shabby at all =) Worn focuses effect Neither procs nor clickies fyi.

I know its a very silly question, but is it possible for you to do the Keepers progression, then get faction with the Dark Reign up and do their progression for the AA's, exp, etc?

It might be possible for the regular AAs, but the special AAs that you get are lost, as soon as you begin factioning for the other side.

i did the same thing, completed my tier 2 last night. For some reason he didnt keep my stone fragment. But i did get the stats, and the 69th spell. When i hail him now he says some long deal about how great i am for helping but he wants me to do more work. Nothing he says in in [box] format.

I have Amiable faction, but im wondering if perhaps you have to have higher faction?

Although this write up say's 250/250/250, you don't get that amount. You get a % of your base (less if you have done aa's to increase your base). There is a detailed post around with test results. If I find it I will link it.

How can you see exactly where you are in progression? It's been a long time and do not remember where I was. There must be an easy way I am not thinking of.

Look on the right up above and check your AA's then check your bags for drops, those will let you know what you have killed and what you still need to kill. Most of the Group missions are easy enough that if you already have done one, it wont be hard to do again.

After completing tier three and Hailing Chieftain Relae Alder

You must bring proof you have conquered both of these tasks.

You have recieved a character flag!

To state it clearly, Faction only affects your ability to get the tasks for each tier. I just turned in all the Tier 4 pieces and got all flags and the Tier 4 ability and I had just went from Amiable to Kindly. I wasted 3 days killing Dark Reign Guards before I heard faction doesn't matter for turn-ins. A guildy finished Tier 5 with faction well below Ally. Just wanted to make this a bit more obvious to everyone.

Out of curiosity what's your faction? I'm Amiable but thats not good enough apparently. Makes sense seeing as Amiable was required for Tier 2. You must need the next one up.

Guess its time to do more Creators, heh.

Faction TASKS
# Aug 15 2006 at 5:10 AM Rating: Decent
In the first section:
Quote:
Upon completing these tasks, you receive a number of Radiant Crystals (droppable and used to purchase items from Tatsujiro the Serene) and a Norrath's Keepers Token. The Token can be turned in to Tatsujiro the Serene for the following faction hits:

This is not true. Could this be updated as the factions TASKS (Tasks not in the camps) only give faction and some plat. NOT tokens, nor crystals!

Thanks
is there a way
