Requesting the Raid

The Tacvi raid expedition can be triggered one of two ways: Either by killing Zun`Muram Tkarish Zyk in Txevu (you are automatically assigned the expedition upon his death), or by speaking with Hamari Nedu at the zone-in of Txevu.

Pre-Requisites for requesting this raid:
- Must have a "Zun'Muram's Signet of Command" in inventory, from Zun`Muram Tkarish Zyk.

Pre-Requisites for participating in this raid:
- If below Level 65, must have access to Txevu via Gates of Discord progression.
- If Level 65 or higher, there are no participation requirements.

Requesting the expedition requires that you be in a raid format (/raidinvite) and have at least six players in the raid (must be online, but don't have to be in the zone; levels don't appear to matter).

If you try to request it with less than six people in /raid format, you see:

Hamari Nedu says 'I cannot in good conscience allow you into the upper temple as you are. If you wish to have any chance against the forces of the Tunat'Muram, you will need the help of many friends. Without them, I would just be sending you to be slaughtered.'

With pre-requisites done, you see:

You say, 'Hail, Hamari Nedu'

Hamari Nedu says 'You hold a Signet of Command! I can use the power of the signet to [open the way] for you to the upper reaches of the temple once you are prepared to face the Tunat'Muram.'

You say, 'Open the way'

Hamari Nedu says 'So be it. There is a construct nearby that will bring you to the seat of the slayer himself. May Trushar's blessing infuse your swords with the strength to cleanse this place of the Muramite invaders!'

The direction to the entry to your expedition has been marked on your compass.

The entrance to Tacvi is located near the zone-out to Qvic. Make your way past the three golems in the entrance way and head south. At the end of the hallway is a deadend, where you find a golem statue. This is the entrance to Tacvi.

Welcome to Tacvi, the Broken Temple

Once inside, you will encounter Sesnil Yisnon, the only surviving Tacvi experiment victim.

You say, 'Hail, Sesnil Yisnon'

Sesnil Yisnon says 'The spirits of this temple whispered of your coming and you have arrived none too soon. The leader of the Muramite army has taken up residence here along with three of his officers. They have destroyed all that stood as a symbol of the Taelosians and now as we stand here, the torture continues. I am all that is left of the slaves they brought here to experiment on. As you can see from the corpses that lie here, some of us did not even make it out of this room before we collapsed from fright of what was to come. Since the Wayfarers Brotherhood's arrival on our continent, I have been waiting for someone to get this far and save us. But you are not the first and I fear you will not be the last, for you see I have helped many others make it through this sacred place and now their remains clutter the hallways of this once glorious temple. The might of this army is at its strongest here and there is no mercy for the weak who challenge them. Now that you have heard my tale do you wish to continue?'

You say, 'We wish to continue'

Sesnil Yisnon says 'I am bound to help avenge the deaths of my people by the invading masses of the Muramite army. Until this is done I must help any who enter here. If you destroy the commander then you will free my spirit and the others who are stuck here. I will remove the seal on this door when you say you are [ready].'

You say, 'We are ready'

Sesnil walks over to the sealed door.

Sesnil begins to recite an incantation in his native tongue. Waving his arms in the air, you see the door light up and go dim just as his arms come to rest at his side. 'There you are. The seal has been removed. Now once again you must destroy the guardian in the doorway and do not venture back until you have destroyed the being within, or you will be destroyed by the wards.'

An ancient hallway lies before you. The remains of fallen warriors litter the floor along with discarded slave corpses.

Elite Mastruqs

The first mob you encounter here will be an elite mastruq. Each doorway is guarded by one of these mastruqs, which are the only "trash mobs" encountered in Tacvi. Despite that, they pack a wallop and can wipe out an unprepared raid. Each hits for a max ~4,500 and has a melee ability according to its type (there are three types):

"an elite mastruq berserker"

Berserkers AE rampage for full damage.

an elite mastruq berserker calls on the spirits of Discord to bring death.

an elite mastruq berserker has been slain by _____!
Dark blood spews from its mouth as the battle hardened mastruq takes a final swipe.

"an elite mastruq crusher"

Crushers frequently flurry.

an elite mastruq crusher sizes up its victims head for its next trophy.

an elite mastruq crusher has been slain by _____!
an elite mastruq crusher's corpse gives in freely to its own death, savoring the taste of its own blood.

"an elite mastruq destroyer"

Destroyers frequently single-target rampage.

an elite mastruq destroyer runs for battle in an uncontrollable rage.

an elite mastruq destroyer has been slain by _____!
an elite mastruq destroyer's corpse enjoys the gift of a painful end.

First Raid Encounter

Just ahead is the door to the first encounter here: Pixtt Xxeric Kex.

Good luck!

I ran this raid expedition with my 3 box team last night to try for a Symphony of Battle sword for my Bard. To get this raid without having any flags or keys, here is what I had to do:

Step 1 is to get the Polished Stone Key in Txevu by completing the Mastruq Champion event: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=15403 This could be done with my 3 member group, not in raid format.

Step 2 is to get the Jade Inlaid Key by completing the High Priest Nkosi event: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=15398
This could also be done by my 3 member group, not in raid format

Step 3 is to go into the chambers of Zun Muram Tkarish Zyk (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=15405). If he is up, congratz--defeat him and pocket the Signet of Command you can use to get the Raid directly from Hamari Nedu in Txevu whenever you want to repeat it. If he is not up (he was not up for me), then you cannot get the Signet of Command for future use. But you can still get the Raid now (and I assume in the future) by using your Jade Inlaid Key to come into the Zun Muran Tkarish Zkh chambers and clicking on the golem statue in the back of the chambers with the Jade Inlaid Key on the cursor. Nothing happens, but you then go back to the door to his chambers and click that like you were exiting the room. At that point, the expedition comes up. When I first did this, I was in raid format with 3 people and got a red message on clicking the door that I did not have enough people. So I did a /raidinvite of 3 more folks sitting in the guild lobby, and clicked the door again, and got the raid expedition. Then I went back to the golem statue, and clicked that to zone into the raid instance. Then the extra folks could drop raid without causing me problems.

Step 4 is to beat the Tacvi raid, where the Symphony of Battle mob (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=15920) is the third one you reach.

He didn't drop the goods for me, so I will be going back, but I thought others would be interested in an update on how this is currently working for access.

Had 6 people couldn't get instance till we dropped one person and invited them to join our raid.

Then we were able to get instance by saying open the way. I believe you still need the signet of command to request the instance

you DO still need the signet of command to request the instance. however to my knoweledge that's the only part of progression that you need.

Now that flagging is gone, does Hamari respond as though you already have the Signet? If no answer, I may post it myself in a few days. Gonna try and farm a couple of BBoB, but not sure what the effect of removing flags was.

Raided Tacvi a few days ago and several people in my raid tried to request the instance (who did not have the signet from Zun Muram Tkarish). None of them could get the instance. I think they overlooked this part of removing the key for this zone.

I believe they made a difference between accessing zones and requesting missions/zones.
So you might be able to zone into a zone, if someone else got the task, but you can't request the mission yourself.

Someone who have tried might be able to confirm this for you =)

Further dialogue missing here...

[Sun Feb 06 00:20:44 2005] Hamari Nedu says 'There are special constructs within this temple that allow access to other areas. The one next to us would normally allow me to leave the temple entirely, but it is under the sway of the Muramites. I overheard Tkarish speaking of a Tunat'Muram, a kind of commander as far as I could tell, that resides within the upper levels of the temple only reachable via the constructs. But Tkarish holds a [Signet of Command] which gives him control over the constructs. As long as he has that Signet, the way to the Tunat'Muram is closed to you and the way out is closed to me.'
[Sun Feb 06 00:20:47 2005] You say, 'Signet of Command'
[Sun Feb 06 00:20:47 2005] Hamari Nedu says 'If you can wrest the signet from Tkarish's grasp, the constructs will allow you passage to the upper levels of the temple. Should you claim a Signet of Command for yourself, I can use it to activate a nearby construct. From here, the influence of your signet would be stronger than the one Tkarish wields in the chapel above and I should be able to convince the construct to grant you passage to the upper levels of the temple.'
