In order to get keyed for the Plane of Time without having elementals complete, you need to be raided in to Phase 3. Named spawns in Phase 3 have a chance of dropping a Time Phased Quintessence, an alternate Plane of Time key. The list of mobs at the left is by no means complete.

You can loot this, and next time you zone in to Time, you'll be keyed.

If you are already flagged for Plane of Time, you will see the following trying to loot.

Your hand passes through the quintessence as you try to remove it from the corpse.
You are not allowed to loot the item: Time Phased Quintessence.
You may not loot that item from this corpse.

A typical trip through Phase 3 yields 7-10 keys.

The Prison of the Forsaken

I am trying to finish off exploration for PoP. The only place left is Prison of the Forsaken listed off Time. Does anyone know how to get there?

Prison of the Forsaken is the "proper" name for Plane of Time B aka the Time Expedition You should get the exploration achievement as soon as you zone in to any of the Phase 1 trials.

If you're already flagged for Time, the game won't let you loot one. Not a big deal, just FYI.

Your hand passes through the quintessence as you try to remove it from the corpse.
You are not allowed to loot the item: Time Phased Quintessence.
You may not loot that item from this corpse.

Can you delete this after you loot it. i got yellow text text when I looted it. I left it in my bank and i could still zone into Time. Do I need to keep this in my bank forever?

RE: Delete?

Aye, same question here. Can't find anyone who knows this answer. /key doesn't show anything about PoTime. I guess I'll just have to keep it in my bank forever.

I've yet to see Time level gear drop in anything except MPG trials.... and in most of those trials close to time level gear is required

Also: Does this item backflag Elemental Planes as well as Time?

To answer this question...no. My guild on Morden Rasp took me in and on one of our weekly Time raids, let me get the alternate key. It doesnt allow me access to any of the Ep planes. I have been in a raid that killed Coirnav because I was 85d in, and that kill gave me access to Water. But as for the other three planes, i cant get into any of them unless Im in a full group of fire flagged people.

Figurine/AA's
# Jan 03 2005 at 9:47 AM Rating: Decent
I'm curious if the people doing this alternate access method are getting AA's and having their Intricate Wooden Figurines upgraded for all the kills they skipped or do they eventually have to go back and do the fights to get them?
RE: Figurine/AA's
# Jan 20 2005 at 5:42 AM Rating: Decent
Nope, no AA or figurine upgrades for alternate access quests, same like with the alternate quests for PoV and others...
RE: Figurine/AA's
# Feb 18 2005 at 12:14 PM Rating: Decent
That isn't true. The old alternate access quests (to Torment, HoHonor, CoDecay, PoTactics) all gave AA -- I know, because I got into all those places that way before they were opened up just by levelling, and before my Guild was strong enough to beat any of those mobs (and now we're in PoTime....)
RE: Figurine/AA's
# May 26 2005 at 7:28 AM Rating: Decent
I'm not sure as to Torment, HoHonor, CoDecay, or PoTactics; but as for any other plane, alternate access does NOT yeild AA/Figurine upgrade. I also think that it may have been changed since you did the alternate access quest. Alot has changed since the time when you probably did that, and I think that PoP alternate access quests do not yield AA/Figurine upgrade. My reasoning to back this up is that I did the Sol Ro alternate access quest a few months back, and was told by the Seer the alternate message, and when I went to the figurine fellow, he told me he had heard all my stories before. Just my thoughts, but I'm pretty sure that it does not still yeild aa/upgrade

# May 30 2005 at 7:58 AM Rating: Decent
The Sol Ro access does not yield AA nor charm upgrade however the others he mentioned did about a month ago when I did them.
I have done 6 alt access quests so far and got a fair few guildies access and free AA's/charm upgrades as it flags the whole group when you do turn ins.

Basically the deal is this. All of the experience flags that were there from early PoP days DO give an AA/charm upgrade. That includes the alternate tactics, CoD, and torment flags. Any flags that were put in when the alternate time flag was added, do NOT give aa/charm upgrades. This includes sol-ro tower, elementals and so forth.

I find it odd that all the folks in the Time Flag Country Club are the ones coming to loot extra drops in WoS,RCoD and MPG. How does it feel to scavange like the little people? How does it feel going from Uber to just another face in the crowd in less then a month?
Nothing is better then watching a big guild snob pout as you put them to shame with your MPG , RS or new quest armor.

Do not try to hijack my Sarcasm and spin it into your wimp like insult. My posts are never bitter and always Sarcastic. It is a form of humor. You see Biff, sometimes people bag on other people for fun. No bitterness , no hate just fun :)
Terms I used like 'Country Club' and 'Snobs' get guys like you all huffy, then you spew on and on about how hard it was to earn your way up to time blah blah blah.

Biff it was a joke at big guild types who sport Magelo profiles and love to brag about how they have done what only a small number of others have done. Hate to burst your bubble Biff lots of us have been there and done that. Yes Biff I have been to Time with my big guild <yawn> I just dont brag about it or cry about them making it eazy for those who cannot get to time. Get over it Biff the riff raff are coming just to ruin your day at the Country Club :(

Now let us talk about OoW Biffy. Let us get your friend who thought I was comparing Tier 1 Armor Quests to Time gear. <cough>

Sorry guys but Tier 2 Quest Armor is what kicks *** not the Tier 1 or random drops. I was talking about a friend of mine that we were joking with because he had to scrounge from the riff raff.

This got you all huffy and thus the joke has come full circle now. Get over it boys. Game goes on I hope you come out of Time and take a look at the new zones. DoN rules.

I remember a SuzieQ from another server. She was a real witch. Turned several people against one another, filed false commplants about people, and in short, just really unpleasant, but she "died" when everything got too much for her. You sound alot like her, Suyzcue.

Wow such hate! Besides, the big guild snobs will have moved on to anguish if they are really that big. As for the time Country club, when it was a zone to be worked at to attain it really was something. the llot from it was a symbol not of belionging to a country club, but of having worked very hard to get into the hardest zone in the game at that period.

Now all but Quarm loots are trivial, and OOW instant gratification is here if you are just into gear. It's easy and simple and any fool can get it, it's FUN. time is just a farm for twinks and alts now since the clickies are still better than OOW (except of course Anguish where all the real Time Country Club people went anyway).

So Suze, it's all relative. Your OOW quest gear and trash drops are good, it's fun to play, and am I glad I can raid in my 65 SK alt to Time? You bet I am! Do I want to do the flags and stuff all over again to get him there like I had to on my main? Hellz no! On the other hand, do I regret having had to jump through the hoops I did to get into Time (and VT and all the other zones the instant gratification people will never ever see)? Hellz no. That was part of the game at that stage of its development.

Horses for courses. Time is still fun, but its equivalent entrance requirements live on (in a less complicated form) in the signets and trials you need to enter Anguish. But I suspect that the casual MPG/RS player won't be winning THEM any time soon. Perhaps one day you will get raided into there sometime, grin.

If a guild went in and killed everything but the last named in phase 3 then let the timer fail and reset, when they redid phase 1 and got to phase 3 again would the mobs that respawned still drop the keys?

i must say that i enjoy the idea of verant to provide for a relatively easy means of backflagging. it seem like a ploy to populate some of the more "high end" zones that have been discarded as useless or not worth the trouble these days (such as sol ro, reguarded as useless... and time, reguarded mostly as not worth the trouble of gaining access). but either way, raiding in and killing the mobs is a perfectly valid way imo to flag people... since they've obviously proven their worth to work in time since they're in phase 3.

the sol ro alternate access just seems like they're trying to give people a way to gear up for OOW... since ornate is almost an absolute minimum to be able to hold your own in the lower end of the new content.

of course that's just my opinion, i could be wrong.

It shouldn't be surprising to see high-end content of POP abandoned, just like it shouldn't be surprising to see high-end Luclin content abandoned.

As long as the game is PvE, with no alternative route to gain status, new content is required. The shift toward a hybrid PvE/P is what's making WoW so attractive to the high-end player.

Until Sony realizes that there must be an alternative route to gaining status--a route seperate from content advancement--EQ is doomed.

I just had to laugh at this post.. (Highlighted above). Here it is 2014... over 9 years after that post, and EQ is still going strong.

While Suzycue seems rather angry about something, she did make one good point. OOW does not really require Ornate gear. Dranik's Hollows and Nobles Causeway are easily tankable by a 6k tank, and casters really can get by with crap gear. I saw a cleric in MPG, who got the shoulders that drop off the snake lady. When asked what he was upgrading.... Adamantite Epaulets.

Also, several of the magnetized pieces drop off low level dragorn in dranik's scar, and I farmed them solo with my 60 monk, so ANY group, even a poorly equipped one, could farm those pieces, and have a smith make a few pieces of magnetic armor.

Admittedly, WoS or higher requires some halfway decent gear, in order to tank, but unless you are the MT, you can slip in as additional DPS. A warrior in my guild was invited to tag along with a time+ group into MPG, and ended up with about 8 100+ hp items by the end of the night. His former gear was semi crappy tier 1 PoP drops, smithed and ldon gear. After one lucky grind, he now has the HP to tank WoS.

Also, IMO these new backflaggings were intended to make life easier for the raid guilds, since Sony has depelted their ranks a bit by releasing EQ2. A couple of our top guilds on Rodcet died after EQ2 came out, due to people leaving the game. The others were stuck doing massive backflagging, which this has alleviated.

RE: drop number
# Mar 20 2005 at 10:42 PM Rating: Decent
We've been farming Time for a couple of months now. There have been 9 keys per clearing of phase 3, every time. Phase 3 consists of 8 waves of mobs, each with a pair of bosses, and 2 final bosses. For each wave but the first one, one of the wave bosses will drop a key, and each of the last two bosses drops a key, for a total of 9.

The looter is instantly keyed when looting, they will no longer need a push to remain, etc, and in fact if you have other folks waiting outside needing a push, they can even be added to the raid, since you are increasing the number of keyed members by 9.

I don't know what happens if you intentionally fail P3 in an attempt to farm more keys. I suspect, but do not know, that it will not work. But even at 9 keys per week, the backflagging goes amazingly fast, and soon they'll be rotting.
