This is a raid trial.

Find the Projection of Power at location -1000, -3000 (northeastern portion of the zone).

You say, 'Hail, Projection of Power'

Projection of Power says, 'Halt, _____, and hear my words. Your background and your status are of no consequence. All are welcome to participate in the trials to prove their worth, or die trying. Whosoever approaches me has adressed the embodiment of power, keeper of the trials of Destruction and Corruption. The former is a small-scale test, while the latter is large-scale. My task is to explain the rules and usher hopefuls into the battle arena. Would you like to hear the rule for small-scale or large-scale trials or do you wish to enroll in Destruction or Corruption?'

You say, 'Corruption'

Projection of Power says "Prepare yourself for the greatest challenge of all. The Mastery of Corruption will test your battle prowess as well as your strength of character. Can you see through corruption and rout it out, or are you corrupt yourself ? The spoils of war include the chance to rewrite history. The victor will decide who was right and who was wrong, but in the end - do such things ever matter?'

You have entered Proving Grounds: Mastery of Corruption.

Inside you see Huhn-Abram's Corpse on the platform with several NPCs lying around him.

Pick any of those NPCs and hail her/him...

You say, 'Hail, [Name of NPC]'

[Name of NPC] says, 'Hail to you as well, _____, but what exactly are you doing here ? I'm sorry, but as you can see, you've arrived too late. Moments ago we defeated Huhn-Abram the Corrupted and we're currently regrouping and resurrecting our fallen members. Please respect our control of this area and leave at once. I have to admit your presence here is making me a bit nervous. We don't want any trouble.' They stare at you fearfully, '"So, are you going to leave us in peace, or did you come [expecting a fight]?'

You say, 'We were expecting a fight'

[Name of NPC] says 'I should have known the trial of corruption wouldn't be so easy. Bring it on!'

The trial has begun. You cannot bring additional people into your expedition at this time.

Three waves of NPCs will spawn (6, 12, 18) which act much like real players and come in eight different classes. All NPCs are level 70. Kill them and collect your reward:

Shell of the Corrupted spawns afterward with a number of different loot possibilities.

Upon completion, you will also receive a Mastery of Power Rune, one of six pieces needed for Citadel of Anguish access.

odd amount of time, but that is the lockout time i received on each one of these trials.

Since the April 2012 patch (The number of players required for the following events has been reduced from 18 to 6: Muramite Proving Ground raid trials, and Erdna the Sleeping Giant in The Steppes) this has been able to be started with a group. We finally did this yesterday (a random selection from our FunToDo list). I do not care how overkill it was, that we got zero xp for it, and that none of the items are tribute-able... i still enjoyed bashing the opposing raid.

Side note.. the NPCs are headshot immune.

Maximum force was 54.

we just tryed with 15 while we got the expitition we could not activate the trail so the minimum is greater than that

We beat this last night, but many of us did not receive the Mastery of Power Rune. We zoned out, then back into the instance and POP, we received the Rune.

Same thing happened to my raid org last night. Except, I didn't get the rune upon zoning. /petition'd and they said that I don't have the flag thus won't get my rune.

no timer that im aware of, just kill 3 waves of mobs, first wave is spawned upon zoning in(6 guys with epic 1.0 stading around) second wave is 12 guys(random classes as far as i know), 3rd wave is 18 guys(again random).

i suggest u go for rogues first, chanters second, wizzards 3rd leave clerics they will do nothing but heal anyways. all other classes are just dps classes, pick them off as u choose, but the first 3 classes above MUST be taken out first, or u will lose half ur raid quite quickly.

rogues quad for anywhere from 1k-2500, and hit quite fast.
chanters will mez, charm.
wizzards sit and ae nuke till dead, cant be quite painful.

6+12+18 for a total of 36 mobs to be killed befor event finishes.

(suggest leaveing a cleric up at end of first 2 waves to rez fallen, rebuff and such)

No Rangers? Everyone see that? That right there should tell everyone that even Sony has low opinions of us Rangers.

Kinda limited on the classes I see. But that really doesn't surprise me much. Definatly lets everyone know what classes Sony likes the most. Maybe other classes show themselves in the last round.

No bards, berserkers, paladins, shadow knights, beast lords, shamen or druids either :p No classes get added for the 3rd wave, just the ones mentioned in the post at the bottom.

Well, let me give some additional info about this trial. We tried to do it tonight, 9 Mar 2005. The first wave was 7 mobs. Each was holding an epic, looked really cool. We decided to whack the monk last. After we killed her, an additional 12 mobs spawned. A I know 2 clerics, chanters, wizzys, monks, and wars. That is as far as we got. Chanters kept mezzing us and we got nuked. We gonna try again in a bit.

In the Trial of Corruption you have to fight three waves of ‘players’ – the first wave has 6, then next 12, and the last 18. Each wave begins when the last NPC in the previous wave is killed. Each NPC can appear in any wave, and can appear in consecutive waves, but will be the same race/class always. Casters appear to have the ability to cast the same spell on multiple targets at once (the mobs do not appear to actually AE however), and can be interrupted.
