Trelak may be found at -280, -1570 in the Wall of Slaughter. Bards receive Farseeker's Plate armor of Harmony, Clerics receive Faithbringer's armor of Conviction, Paladins receive Dawnseeker's Armor of the Defender, Shadowknights receive Duskbringer's Plate armor of the Hateful, and Warriors receive Gladiator's Plate armor of War.

You say, 'Hail, Trelak'

Trelak says 'Greetings stranger. What can I, Trelak do for you? Surely you are the strangers that I have heard whispers about . . . the ones that have struck back against our enemies? Perhaps we can aid each other? I am an armor smith that has crafted many fine pieces for the more prestigious officers in the dragorn militia. Many of these pieces have unique magical qualities that I crafted into them. If you are [willing] to recover them, I can recapture most of this magic and create new pieces for you.'

You say, 'I am willing.'

Trelak says 'Good, very good. When The Darkening came upon us, I could see by the ferocity and viciousness of the invaders that they would not be easy to defeat. So I took as much as I could and hid out here preparing for the time when our warriors would have need of me. If you help me, I will craft superior pieces of plate armor fit for our mightiest fighters for you. I can provide a [helm], [sleeves], [bracers], a pair of [gloves], a [breastplate], some [leggings], and a pair of [boots].'

Helm

You say, 'What helm?'

Trelak says 'Before I can make you a plate helm worthy of Makyah himself, I will need you to bring me some food. I was so busy with taking all of my tools that I did not have time to stock myself with enough sustenance to see me through this ordeal. From time to time I have seen kvy archers eating from a small food sack. I think if you bring me two of these sacks I can continue my work for quite awhile. Your main task though will be to bring me a certain piece of metal I have long had my eye on. There was a certain dragorn elder by the named of Patorav, a wiser and kinder noble did not exist. Wherever he went, he always carried with him a fine [walking stick].'

You say, 'What walking stick?'

Trelak says 'This was no ordinary walking stick. The top held a jewel of some mystery for I would always see Patorav whispering to it, but I am more interested in the bottom tip, for it you see was sheathed in a strange metal. I witnessed Patorav striking the ground with the tip only to see it penetrate any surface it encountered. The hardest stone, the most durable metal, nothing could withstand his walking stick. Thus, I have always held an interest in it as the enchantments contained therein may prove to be beneficial to my craft. Though Patorav fell during the noble's march through the causeway, his stick may yet exist. Find it and bring it back with the food and I'll reward you.'

Patorav's Walking Stick is a random drop from Jelvan`s Keepsake, Keldovan the Harrier, Ture, and Warden Hanvar in the Citadel of Anguish. Kyv Food Sacks drop from an elite kyv hunter in Muramite Proving Grounds.

Trelak reaches out hungrily for the food sacks and the walking stick. 'Yes, this is Patorav's. I would recognize it anywhere. You can see just by looking at the metal that it hides some source of power. Why its appearance alone... how the metal looks as if it is reflecting moving storm clouds... fascinating. I most graciously thank you for this and the sacks of food. I had nearly finished this plate helm for a customer of mine, but I have heard he met a valiant end at the wall. Wear it honorably as he would have.'

Sleeves

You say, 'What sleeves?'

Trelak says 'Though I managed to bring nearly all of my tools before the Muramites overran our lands, I did forget to bring the enchanted tongs my mentor gave me. I secretly returned only to watch the Muramites destroy my shop and steal what was left. I saw the leader of this pack of dark thieves place my tongs in an embossed leather sack . . . Which was probably stolen as well. I want you to bring me this sack so I may retrieve my tongs and perhaps other possessions he stole from me. I also want you to repay those brutes for wrecking my shop and home. Bring me back two noc right hands so I know they will no longer steal from me or my people ever again.'

Lenarsk's Embossed Leather Pouch is a random drop from Jelvan`s Keepsake, Keldovan the Harrier, Ture, and Warden Hanvar in the Citadel of Anguish. Noc Right Hands drop from an elite noc cleaver in Muramite Proving Grounds.

Bracers

You say, 'What bracers?'

Trelak says 'As a smith I am always looking for new materials and techniques to improve my craft. Many times we come across objects that are highly magical in nature and often we are able to capture this mystical essence and reuse it for our own purposes. The riftseekers have something I very much want. It was these very same beings that betrayed my people to the Muramites, but that is not important now. I know that the riftseeker's heart is not akin to a heart that beats within you or me. It is magical. Find and bring me one of those hearts. Your must also bring me two large pieces of Kuuan Ore as my stock is running a bit low. Return with these and I will make you a bracer much like the ones dragorn warriors wear into battle.'

The Riftseeker Heart is a random drop from Jelvan`s Keepsake, Keldovan the Harrier, Ture, and Warden Hanvar in the Citadel of Anguish. Large Pieces of Kuuan Ore are a random drop from trash in the Ruined City of Dranik (and elsewhere?).

Trelak widens his eyes as you hand him the riftseeker heart. As you hand it to him, his eyes fix on the small pulsing light within the center of the gem. 'Yes, I am sure I can make good use of this. You have done well. And these pieces of ore will help replenish my supply. For your hard work, here is the plate bracer I spoke of earlier.'
You gain experience!!

Gloves

You say, 'What gloves?'

Trelak says 'One of my people's most famous warriors was Makyah the Fierce, who had no equal when it came to the battle arts. Enemies would routinely pause momentarily when he strode upon the field. After the portal exploded though, no trace of Makyah was found. I am more interested in his axe though, which may yet hold salvation for my people. It is my hope that the enchantments and techniques used to create the axe might be used for other purposes. Find and return Makyah's axe to me so I may use it to help my people. To remove the enchantments properly though, I will also need two yearning crystals. With the proper ceremony, gems such as these can be used to transfer charms from one object to another. Come back when you have recovered these and I will give you a pair of gloves that I was crafting in honor of a dragorn elder.'

Makyah's Axe is a random drop from Jelvan`s Keepsake, Keldovan the Harrier, Ture, and Warden Hanvar in the Citadel of Anguish. Crystals of Yearning drop from nocs in Muramite Proving Grounds.

Trelak holds the axe up and begins to take a few mighty swings through the air in front of him. 'Yes, the axe of the fierce one himself. It will be a shame to remove some of these enchantments, but I am sure I can put them to better use for my people. I will use the two crystals you have just given me to safely remove some of the charms within the axe and put them in some of my newer designs. Here are the plate gloves I spoke of earlier.'

You gain experience!!

Breastplate

You say, 'What breastplate?'

Trelak says 'Many good friends and loved ones perished in the invasion. One of my good friends was a famous hunter, Jayruk. He and I went on many hunting expeditions together protecting our lands from some of the more wild and dangerous beasts. I was not skilled enough to take care of a bazu mind you, but at least I could remove the threat of a few murkgliders. Jayruk, however, had no equal. I could regale you for hours of tales of how he narrowly escaped death, but I shan't waste time. Simply know that I wish to pay my respects to my good friend and for this I require the hunting vest he so loved. I will also need three dragorn ceremonial candles too. Return to me with the vest and the three candles and I will give you a plate breastplate that I was crafting for myself.'

Jayruk's Vest drops from Arch Magus Vangl and Overlord Mata Muram in the Citadel of Anguish. Ceremonial Dragorn Candles drops from dragorns in Muramite Proving Grounds. Upon hand-in:

Trelak says 'Ah, yes, this is the vest I saw Jayruk wear so often when times were brighter. No one knows what happened to him, but this vest confirms my greatest fear -- that he met with an untimely end. I thank you for returning this to me so I may pay my respects to my greatest friend. Here is the breastplate I spoke of
earlier. I was crafting this for myself, but in times such as these, it is better that it serve a true fighter such as yourself than a mere smith pretending to be one.'

You gain experience!!

Leggings

You say, 'What leggings?'

Trelak says 'When I tried to go back to my shop to retrieve my tongs, I found it overrun with a mob of thieving Muramites. At that moment I, a mere smith, vowed revenge for destroying what it took me a lifetime to build. I did not know how or when I would accomplish this until I crossed paths with you. You will be my instrument, exacting the revenge I cannot achieve on my own. Find the leader of this particular group of Muramites and repay it ten fold. Return to me with the medal it smugly wore -- a medal it no doubt stole from some other hapless dragorn. You also must bring me three blackened discordling tails as proof that the rest of this group has been slain as well. Do this and I will give you a pair of plate leggings that I have been working on for some time now.'

Patorav's Amulet drops in the Citadel of Anguish from Overlord Mata Muram and Arch Magus Vangl. Blackened Discordling Tails drop from discordlings in Muramite Proving Grounds. Upon hand-in:

Trelak smiles and nods approvingly as you had him the medal and tails. 'Yes this is the amulet that fiendish Muramite wore. And you managed to slay the discordlings as well? Good. Now at least I may rest easier knowing that the fiends will trouble my people no more. Here are the leggings I spoke of earlier. I crafted them using a new technique I developed after my mentor's passing. Now I feel they are ready to be tested on the field of battle. I am certain they will give you much service.'

You gain experience!!

Boots

You say, 'What boots?'

Trelak says 'As much of my customers were dragorn warriors, over time I came to befriend many of them. Though most of them perished during the fighting, some were captured by the Muramites and tormented in their Proving Grounds. This was once a serene place where our elders would meditate . . . A place of peace and tranquility that my people looked toward Dranik's spirit for guidance. Now it is a place inhabited by the foulest horrors where resistant dragorns are tortured. One such dragorn was a noble warrior named Ethask. Thrown into the labyrinth unarmed, he fought off a horde of discordlings and kyvs, breaking their bodies with his bare hands. Seriously wounded, he still managed to find an exit through sheer force of will. Just as he was about to exit that black pit, a soaring [Muramite] cowardly struck him down from behind. Mortally wounded with the axe still lodged between his shoulders, Ethask crawled through the exit only to perish on the other side.'

You say, 'What Muramite?'

Trelak says 'I know little of this particular Muramite save that he received a medal for his dastardly deeds. Find and slay this Muramite so the spirit of Ethask may find the peace it longs for. Return once you have done this with the Muramite Cruelty Medal as proof that this monster shall trouble my people no more. Also bring me two kyv hunter rings to celebrate Ethask's victories.'

The Muramite Cruelty Medal is a random drop from Jelvan`s Keepsake, Keldovan the Harrier, Ture, and Warden Hanvar in the Citadel of Anguish. Kyv Hunter Rings drop from "an elite kyv hunter" in Muramite Proving Grounds.

Can you still add alts to your Anguish group to request access, log them out, and then add more until you have a full group with just a couple accounts?

As far as I am aware, this hasn't been nerfed yet.

Faction Grinding
# Apr 20 2014 at 1:16 PM Rating: Decent
Grinding faction is the most tedious part of these.
Level 78 bard. I find that doing laps of the gatehouse in Draniks Scar is easy. Can farm plat at the same time from the gems. Can get about 50 mobs per lap. Jump off onto the ground to the west (safe fall FTW), kill everything in the two towers, except the dragorns (these are a negative faction hit).

Takes about 15 minutes. Can arrive just in time for the re-pop.

"Ah, the medal and two rings I spoke of. You have done a fine job of accomplishing the task I have laid out before you. I will give both the rings and the medal to Ethask's brood...the medal so they may know that their loved one's killer has been slain and the rings so they may celebrate his victories. In honor of my friend Ethask I have crafted these boots. Wear them with the same courage and honor he displayed.

Best place for faction is Anguish. Make sure you are doing some kind of damage to the mobs (I am not sure if debuff will get faction, and I'm sure that healing will not). Load your smallest nuke, or a small AE nuke if you can to make sure you are getting all of the faction hits.

If you can't constantly raid anguish the next best faction I have found is in DS at the NC zone line. I have tried running around the yard and killing everything, but the problem there is you will get a good deal of Dragorns (which you have to kill to get Nocs, Ukuns, and Kyvs to spawn) and they do not give Dranik Loyalist faction, which is what you are going after. However, if you keep to the tower and kill it over and over again the majority of mobs you kill will give you DL faction and they are a higher level so you will get more faction per kill. Clearing the whole yard did not seem to move faction quickly, but after about a day of killing at the NC zone faction seemed to shoot up. I went from dubious to amiable in 2 days or so.

Ok I'm a 71 cleric and I've gone through Anguish more than 6 times and we killed at least 2 to 3 mobs each time and I'm still dubiously to Trelak. Do I not get the faction hits if I don't cause damage even if I'm healing the tank?

some heals will put you directly into combat, and sometimes you only get the hourglass (no faction hits). you should tag everything you possibly can before it dies with a mark or something. kind of hard sometimes with the healing, but just go out of your way to directly tag as much as you can before it dies. i'm still working the faction with my cleric.

You can see just by looking at the metal that it hides some source of power. Why its appearance alone... how the metal looks as if it is reflecting moving storm clouds... fascinating. Not sure if it is a change since last patch or what, but I just turned in my riftseeker heart and ore and he gave me back an ore. So turn in just went from 2 ore to 1. So, if you are farming them or buying them, might want to see if it is one an save some time or cash. This was on Fennin.

GRANDMASTER DoN CULTURAL!!!!!!!!! I'll explain myself. You can buy this armor and the grandmaster augs and just raid for augs and you will most likely be content.. Made a magelo consisting of a couple of spell mission items, the grandmaster armor, quested augs, and other higher end baz items.. http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=1291681 Don't start flaming when you see the profile.. remember it IS a fake profile, just an example setter. Check out the cleric profile. It has ALL the stats maxxed out, all resists 400+, 2.5k ac, 8k hp. Good all around. Even though getting the augs would take some work its stuff that not a lot of people are going to go for it if your in an anguish guild. You can go for this if your guild will raid the lower content and get geared up faster than rolling or bidding DKP for the anguish items and still get stuff just as good. I'm eager to see some of the posts this might bring.. flames or not.. I think i bring up a good point.

If your guild were an anguish guild, you would not be getting last blood augments anyhow. Those are demi-plane of blood drops. Anguish gear will probably be rotting, or goign to apps, for a guild that is farming demi-plane enough for someone to have that many last-blood augments.

Additionally, you have SEVERAL BiC augments on the armor, which is completely impossible. You cannot have even TWO different BiC augments, as the quest has hidden character flags, and is non-repeatable.

A more realistic way of looking at the GM armor, would be that you can use it in a couple slots, without too much problem. There are a few higher end augs that will fit a type 7 slot, other than BiC augs. For example, the two augments that drop off of the circle of drakes event, or the hp/man/edn aug that drops from the instanced unrest.

Also, if you're making a profile as an alternate for Anguish level guilds, you'd be better off with the Bazu augments, as those drop off the flagging mobs for DPoB, and at least two of those are super easy farm mobs. (see one of the wrists on my magelo for an example).

So, in short, yes GM armor can be very nice, but last blood augments are not common, and are not easier to get than anguish gear, and most likely, they will not be DKP free.

There is a way to get multiple BIC augs.
I'll dig yup the screenshot if I can. Was on Tarew.
Basically, it had to do with corpses not connected to the character. Had a bic aug on an Ldon bp, and killed themselves, then did BiC quest again and got a second one, one step lower, looted bp and put aug in second slot. Then did it all again, stopping another step lower, for the 3rd slot.

Afraid of getting in trouble for bypassing the system or whatever, it was done purely for the screenshot, and the super ac showing of 125ish? (I forget, but at the time, it was amazing). Link went around a while. The corpse sat around a while. Not sure if the bp was ever deleted, or corpse rot got it.

No idea what happened to it afterwards.

Are you certain? I remember seeing an LDoN BP that was augged with a completed BiC aug, plus the Wayfarer's Brotherhood Emblem

back when it fit all slots, plus some random third augment, probably an anguish aug.

The above pic was the second bp to be done, and was the one linked across servers.
The original from Tarew, and he still has the bp in bank.
http://home.comcast.net/~dfj21/bicbp.jpg

Just to show the augs actually listed on it.
No flags were bypassed, the extra augs were on the corpse, not linked to the character, so were able to get another.
It was created with the intention of never using it. He didn't equip it once. It was left on corpse though, because he wanted to use the black matter one, and couldn't do that if he had the bp on him.

Well, not to be the skeptic, but the site that the second BP is posted on, also has links to the site that lets you make:

Also, the first pic, does not show the augments combines with the bp. Not saying it didn't happen, just that well, I'm skeptical.

Hehe
That's my site. It's an old page I haven't updated, but use the space to host pics.
I went ingame and got the link, but cropped it down to just the aug slots since the bp was already pictured in the other link above.

And the fake item generator doesn't have the "size" label on the items it creates.

I'll bug him again for the link (I already trashed the complete pic), and post it.

Patorav's amulet is the item to make leggings, we got this every time we have killed amv so far.

Confirming this, only mob I've seen drop it.

*edit* and that is the correct name of the medal the quest giver speaks of as well.

MQable?
# Mar 27 2005 at 1:59 PM Rating: Default
Was wondering since some of the items are not no drop, is the Tier 2 MQable? As long as the last person needing turns in last and both have ally faction. Would be nice to know, considering I have yet to get enough to be able to kill what I need to kill. Thanks in advance.

Also, I have yet to see anywhere in this site the list for the Large Piece of Kuuan Ore. Anyone know what drops it and where. I am assuming that a Kuuan race drops it, but which key ones or do all of them?

do you need tier 1?
# Mar 26 2005 at 9:42 PM Rating: Decent
do you need to complete the tier 1 portion of this armor to get to 2? or can you just start the tier 2 right away?

On the cleric boards, people that are in Anguish say that the Tier 1 and Tier 2 armor are comparable to Ornate and Elemental Armor from PoP. In other words, you do not require the first for the second. And the post text supports this as well (i.e. he never says get me these items and hand me your old BP).

[Thu Mar 24 13:33:07 2005] Trelak says 'As a smith I am always looking for new materials and techniques to improve my craft. Return with these and I will make you a bracer much like the ones dragorn warriors wear into battle.'

charged armor is not better
# Feb 15 2005 at 11:43 AM Rating: Default
I lived in MPG for about 3 months now... and have only seen 1 core drop and I have killed 1000's of the robo cop looking guys... charged armor is just not in the cards... + the fact that the trivia rate on making it is so high that even a GM smither would be nervous about doing it...
tier 1 is not all that hard to get.. velks in wos is an easy kill just need about 20 to 25 raiders and kill him

Have any BP's been discovered as of yet? Seems in the patch yesterday or the day before, they mentioned adding effects to some pieces of armor and I was curious if this was the armor they were talking about...
