Vorkiev may be found in Nobles' Causeway at +1350, +1025. Bards receive Traveler's Mail armor, Clerics receive Sanctified armor, Paladins receive Oathbound armor, Shadowknights receive Heartstiller's Mail armor, and Warriors receive Armsmaster's armor.

You say, 'Hail, Vorkiev'

Vorkiev says 'Hello, ______. I am Vorkiev, a former smith of Dranik. Word of your battles against the Muramites has passed from ear to ear across Kuua. You bring hope to the dragorn who long to be free from the shadow of Mata Muram! Perhaps we can be of [service] to one another?'

You say, 'Service?'

Vorkiev says 'A decade ago my forge created great suits of armor to protect Kuua's strongest warriors. When the Muramites came, however, they sought to conscript me to make armor for their captains. Rather than comply, I fled into the wilderness to live as an exile. I have no regrets about my decision, but I do long for the old days, back when the land was green and the dragorn stood side by side against their enemies, instead of kowtowing to these forsaken Muramites. There many tasks I need accomplished that I am unable to see through myself due to my exile. If you can help me, I can reward you with finely crafted plate armor for your [hands], [wrists], [arms], [head], [chest], [legs], or [feet]. What say you?'

Hands

You say, 'Hands.'

Vorkiev says 'I appreciate your enthusiasm. Be careful though, this will not be easy for I require a rare item that is entrusted only to the Muramite captains. Harbinger's Spire was once a dragorn lookout tower which Mata Muram has since claimed and bent to his own purposes. He uses the spire as a beacon to receive news on his domain. Some of his captains possess infused crystal shards which can be used to send messages from Harbinger's Spire. If you can capture one of these infused spire control shards along with the satchels of two discordling messengers, it may disrupt the Muramite chain of command long enough to afford me a chance to return home for a day. I have not seen many of my kin since The Darkening fell upon Kuua and I long to know if any of them are still alive. Recover these items for me and you shall be rewarded with my finest plate gauntlets.'

Spire Control Shards drop from named in Nobles' Causeway, The Ruined City of Dranik, and Wall of Slaughter. Discordling Message Satchels drop from yard trash in Wall of Slaughter. On handing in the items:

Vorkiev says 'Well met, ______. You may have well disrupted the Muramite chain of command long enough to afford me a chance to go looking for my surviving brothers. The Muramites are on the watch for me, but now they will be scrambling for word from their master. To thank you for your efforts, here are the plate gloves I have promised you.'

You gain experience!!

Wrists

You say, 'Wrists.'

Vorkiev says 'Did you know that dragorns were created by the death of a single dragon named Dranik, the great father? The first dragorn to walk Kuua created many things in his honor. Among these creations was a fearsome battle standard painted with a drop of blood from each of Dranik's firstborn sons. The last dragorn armies to carry the banner fell to the Muramites. No one can say where the Blood Standard of Dranik has gone, but the recovery of such an artifact would leave me in your debt. Return with this banner along with two Ashlock branches, so I can remake the haft. From there, I can reward you with a powerfully crafted wristguard.'

The Dranik Blood Standard is a rare drop in Nobles' Causeway, The Ruined City of Dranik, and Wall of Slaughter. Ashlock Branches are a rare drop from ukuns in The Ruined City of Dranik.

Vorkiev says 'The Blood Standard of Dranik! So it was not destroyed! Well done, ______. I make sure this banner remains in the hands of those still loyal to the old ways. May it fly over the free armies of Kuua once again. Here is the wristguard I have promised. May they serve you well in your future battles against the Muramites!'

You gain experience!!

Arms

You say, 'Arms.'

Vorkiev says 'The armies of Mata Muram are but one aspect of Discord's deep shadow. The Darkening ravaged not only the denizens of Kuua, but the landscape as well. Many of our old landmarks no longer stand and the sky -- once blue and vast -- now seethes with ash and storms. If you can find a map of Old Kuua, one drawn before the coming of Discord, I will be in your debt. Return with this map along with two ukun quills so I can take notes on the map. My exile is long and there is no end in sight. I would like to reorient myself out here in the wilderness. Do this for me and I can reward you with some of my finely crafted arm guards.'

The Map of Old Kuua is dropped by various named in Nobles' Causeway, The Ruined City of Dranik, and the Wall of Slaughter. Ukun quills are dropped by ukun in The Ruined City of Dranik and the Wall of Slaughter.

Upon handing in the items:

Vorkiev says 'A map of Old Kuua! How this map makes me long for the old days, back when we were a free race! My thanks, ______. This map may help relearn the new landscape in the context of the old. Here is a set of ornate arm guards as your reward.'

Head

You say, 'Head.'

Vorkiev says 'When Discord first impinged upon our world, sentiments of treachery and paranoia crept into our lives. Dragorn turned on dragorn and longstanding friendships ended in bitter squabbling. One dragorn, Noble Yemall the Arcane, kept his wits enough to realize what was happening. Yemall toiled tirelessly to counter the effects of Discord. Although his efforts were ultimately in vain, it is said that he was able to author a treatise before the Muramites seized him. This treatise, entitled The Duskfall Chronicles, contains his reflections on the nature of Discord and was likely seized by the Muramites. Retrieve this treatise along with two bristling ukun hides to use as book covers so I can bind the book and protect it from the elements. Hopefully the knowledge in this book will help me to survive in Kuua on my own, now that Discord is seeping further and further across our world. Do this for me and my best plate helm shall be your reward.'

Duskfall Chronicles drops from named in Nobles' Causeway, The Ruined City of Dranik, and Wall of Slaughter. Bristling Ukun Hides drop from yard trash in Nobles' Causeway and the Ruined City of Dranik (and Wall of Slaughter?). On handing in the items:

Vorkiev says 'Well met, ______. Hopefully this book will contain some valuable information on the nature of Discord. To survive on my own, I must first understand the poison affecting the land. As promised, here is the helm as your reward for such a dangerous mission.'

You gain experience!!

Chest

You say, 'Chest.'

Vorkiev says 'The chest piece is the most-prized piece of my collection. For this I will require a special favor from you. Before the Muramites came, the High Council of Eight ruled over Dranik. The eight nobles, lead by Jelvan the Eldest, each carried scepters that were said to be carved from the bones of the first dragorn sons. It is said that these scepters will glow as long as their owner is alive. I have not seen or heard from the council since the Muramites overran our city, but I have heard that these scepters were handed out by Mata Muram as trophies. If you can recover one of these scepters along with three shorn murkglider tentacles to disguise it from the searching Muramites, I can keep it with me. Its soft glow will remind me that there is still hope for Dranik.'

Legs

You say, 'Legs.'

Vorkiev says 'Kuua was not the first world touched by Discord. There have been many others. I know this because I have heard the Muramites tell stories of past conquests. One of the stories they tell is that the last ember of a Discord-ravaged city will burn for many years, long after the ruins of the city itself have been covered over by time. Some say it's the city's spirit slowly dying. Others claim it to be a side effect of the Discord's lingering magic. Regardless, these embers are highly valued by the legions of Discord, for Mata Muram rewards them to his fiercest captains as war trophies. If you can bring me one of these embers along with three Dranik incense burners to hold it in, I will reward you with my finest set of plate greaves.'

Dragorn City Embers drop from named in the Ruined City of Dranik and the Wall of Slaughter. Dranik Incense Burners drop from yard trash in the Muramite Proving Grounds and Wall of Slaughter. On handing in the items:

Vorkiev says 'So, the embers do exist! Excellent work, ______. I plan to hold this ember in the forge when crafting in the future. This will ensure that the ember's heat is used to forge armor for the enemies of the Muramites. Poetic justice, don't you think? For your efforts, here are the greaves as promised!'

You gain experience!!

Feet

You say, 'Feet.'

Vorkiev says 'When Discord first descended upon Kuua, many of my own kin turned traitor. Most dragorn who marched against Dranik were already in exile and seeking vengeance for their punishment, but a handful were established dragorn who conspired against us from within. These established dragorn did the most damage to our defense efforts as they worked against us without our knowledge. There is talk of a traitors' stone which is etched with the names of all dragorn who conspired with the Muramites in those dire days. The Muramite captains carried these stones and used them to determine which dragorn to slay outright and which to spare with a life of slavery. If you can bring me one of these Kuuan traitors' stones, along with two kyv bowstrings so that I can hang this rock of traitors for all to see. Although the dragorn have been occupied for the better part of a decade now, this may still cause stir up trouble for the Muramites. Do this for me and I can grant you my plate boots as a reward.'

Kuuan Traitor Stones drop from various named in Nobles' Causeway, The Ruined City of Dranik, and the Wall of Slaughter. Kyv Bowstrings drop from "a kyv heartstriker" in Nobles' Causeway (dropped by anything else?).

Vorkiev says 'Hmm, I shudder to think what names I will find scribed on this rock, but I thank you for your work none the less. Hopefully, this list can be used to stir some more dissention among the dragorn that have sworn loyalty to Mata Muram for the time being. Here are the plate boots I have promised. May they serve you well, ______.'

The faction needed to finish this quest is "Warmly"

Scowls at you, ready to attack
Glares at you threateningly
Glowers at you dubiously
Looks your way apprehensively
Regards you indifferently
Judges you amiably
Kindly considers you
Looks upon you warmly
Considers you an ally

some notes: I started the faction at 51 thinking I could gain levels and faction at the same time. In NC at the packmaster camp till I hit 62 and then checked my faction. It went from KoS to dubious. -_- hmmm, needs more work than I figured, off to DS to slaughter mobs.

100 mobs - no change
200 mobs - no change
326 mobs - finally apprehensive
415 mobs - now indifferent
512 mobs - now amiably (ding 63 btw)
938 mobs - finally kindly (how many more mobs must die?)
1226 mobs - WARMLY!!! (ding 64 btw)

So after 11 levels and then 1226 more mobs on top of that (plus 2 more levels) I finally can do this quest. Spent 6 solid days...hmmm, not doing THAT again.

Today I finished faction and did the turn ins for boots, gloves and helm. (Warrior) -- Very nice upgrades took about 4 nights of faction work and a couple weeks of camping to get the pieces. I'm very happy with this stuff.

A really good place to do faction is in Draniks Scar, almost every mob in zone is green, hundreds to kill. Think of it as killing giants in western waste. LoL.

Looking forward to arms and 2 bracers..

Faction needed must be Warmly! Kindly will not cut it as it states above.

Great Quest because the armor must be EARNED one faction point at a time.

No sissy multi quest for the lazy tards or toon goons. Only way to get around the faction is Ebay for the lazy and alts in tow for months. Muahahaha

Faction:

*Threateningly*
*Dubious*
*Apprehensive*
*Indifferent*
*Amiable*
*Kindly*
*Warmly* <<<< Must have Warmly faction.

Xaanru I flamed you just because I cannot believe you actually have the time to monitor all 2798 posts for the slighest downward movement.

Xaanru If you do the following.....

1. First thing you do is go check your post score spread sheet from yesterdays scores.
....you are insane
2. If you notice a increase or drop in overall score +/- every time you visit the official Allakhazam web site.
....you are insane
3. In efforts to 'pad' your Allakhazam post score you give yourself a daily post quota to keep your score safe.
....you are insane
4. If you have 2798 overall posts and you notice the slightest movement in score that prompts you to actually edit a ***** about your score then my friend YOU ARE INSANE Please get some help.

Hmm, I don't suppose you realize that your LATEST posts show up first when you click the my posts link. No, I don't monitor all my 4 years of posts every time I log in, but I do click the link to see what has happened to my latest posts. At least I don't spend time posting on a forum for a game I no longer play miss "retired".

Since you have been saying you are "retired" from EQ for about three months now, I'd say you are the one with issues here.

No it is not possible.

Now, why would someone rate this down, it is the correct answer to the above question. None of the OOW armor quests are MQable, at all, period.

If you are not happy about this, it certainly is not my fault. Its the way SoE designed them.

Dranik Scar is best place to faction especially if you are of alot higher level than the mobs, get a full grp of higher levels, or even a multi grp raid and then slaughter the mobs without mercy. I earned great faction clearing out all the mobs on upper and lower level of fortress at NC zoneline plus nearby mobs with a 2 group raid and also later with near all level 70 grp at bloodfield zoneline clearing all mobs near and west of that area. The faction hits are apparently the same no matter the level, so it is not uncommon to hear people /ooc asking for faction grp in this zone.

Even better, if you want to get low level mobs, and don't want to steal all the grind mobs from the level 50s, try this.

Start a Draniks Hollows instance (I forget whether its watering hole, or fire pit but one gives good faction for Dragorn Loyalist), with some low level alts (think 45 is the lowest). Then one by one, remove the low level chars from the expedition, and replace them with the mains. Yes, you can swap group members in the instanced zones, they ARE NOT like LDONS. Then go in to your level 45 instance, with your level 70 group, and clean house.

Good faction, and you don't take all the grind mobs away from the lower levels.

If you really prefer DS, grind over near the Eye of the Dragorn augment camp. All the mobs there give faction, and the low levels rarely camp that area.

time to vent ...
I think it is Insane the diffrence in drop rate going from dirt common (silk) and working up in rareaty till it hits lucky if ya see it (plate)
i personaly have looted and given away over 60 items for silk armor i'm still giveing away stuff for leather armor to guildies and have 12 items left after outfitting 4 guildies chain i have almost a dosen items for chain armor but i'll be D@mn'd if getting ahold of items for plate helm/arms isnt insanely hard ... i dont know about other server but on Drinal server items for silk/chain/lether are selling a average of 200p per item ... where the items for plate the cheepest item runns about 10k-40k i'm sorry but that prices is based on how common stuff is and the **** where the programers smokeing couse i need some!!

The droppable items for Tier I armour seem to fall from different MOBs in varied zones. To get all of the droppable pieces for this yourself, it appears that you need to EXP in DS, NC, WoS and RCoD. Some also drop in MPG, but most drops in MPG for me have been for the Tier II quest.

Got my first piece today, had to be shown where the location was exactly, had never been there...got the helm (its what i had the pieces for) had to give up my royal attendants helm, and miss its 3 slots...had to move my 36% haste aug from it to a belt...so sold helm back for ldon points and bought the foul smelling belt in south ro ldon camp and mounted there..so over all gained some exp, stats, and kept my haste...I am equiped with all Ldon, royal attend gear, and intend to replace it with the tier 1...my calculations indidcate a net gain of 13 I(average) to all saves, 30 ac , 350 hp, 21 sta, 23 dex, 40 wis, 30 mana....plus spell haste 5, improved healing 5....dmg shields...well you can see the focus effects and all yourself ..not bad upgrades....and now on to tier 2...Good luck to all and remember its just a game!

WAR gets his first piece for quest head item, duskfall chronicles. Looked in the bazaar, no bristling ukun hides, plenty of other ones, just not that one. Nro royal attendant helm is in need of upgrade, look forward to selling it back to ghosttown merchants. Upgraded to fabled fbss and am loving the 40hp augs that I keep adding to my new pieces, helm no longer has any augs that are needed.

Unfortunately, that is incorrect. You need Warmly faction or higher. I have personally confirmed this. when I was Kindly, I hailed Vorkiev and he would not give me the quest, nor would he accept turn-ins. After I turned Warmly, he did both.

Kindly is higher faction than Warmly.

I did my turn in as Warmly for the Dranik Loyalist Faction. I grped in NC at the Pixt Bodybender/Packmaster Camp for about 2 weeks. Went from Threat to Warmly there. Every other day I increased my faction. Not a bad camp either for runes and gear drop there so I outfitted some alts and guildees with the drops and runes are lv66-lv68 runes. The best Faction Quest I have seen that helps is the Insignia one where the Npc is in WoS by the MPG Zone in. Hope this helps. Also I have the Sanctified Headdress on my Cleric but Alla has yet added it on. You can see the stats on my magelo acct. Name is Sroakya Forafee Sol Ro Server.

These quests are exactly like the Velious era armor quests, get the pieces required for the piece you want, plus the other items. Then get the appropreate faction (Kindly or higher) with Dranik Loyalists, then go do your turn in, get your armor pieces. You can get the pieces in any order.

I've been searching around for the Bristling Ukun Hide, since I haven't had a lot of time to camp it myself. Any particular spots seem most effective?

Also, on the Sceptre for the Chest piece, do any know of any mobs besides Velkewhatshisname and Tiopat? The one is a raid mob, the other is, as I am aware, on the faction you need for the quest.

Bristling Ukun hides, as far as I know.. are best camped at "The Slayer" camp .. as it is commonly refered to. I had at one point spent near 5 weeks beating the crudd out of Kyv Bowhound, with only a single drop (that I did not win) .. and at that, it was the Ashlock Branch instead. Was at slayer camp not but 20 minutes and had a hide in hand. Careful on the run up there, specially of the Bridgekeeper or other large scale raid mobs are up on either direction going to the camp ... they see invis, and as I understand it -- are very nasty.

RE: lvl

You actually have to be 60 to wear at least most of it, so I guess you could say it is required ... however, as far as I know you only need the factions and pieces. Might be helpful to find someone kind enough to let you get a toon that low to the zone and loot the ND portion. Any toon less than level 60 will most likely will get pummeled (as a tank) or resisted (as a caster) more often than not in WoS and such.

As of this post I have not looked, but you *may* need to be 60 just to get into WoS, not too sure. GL getting the pita factions too :-(

What I may do when I am bored on the DRU is take my 58 WAR into Dranik's Scar with some other 50s to get some exp while at the same time raising factions for future armor hopes.

Does the SK armour have a plate or chain graphic? "Mail" implies chain, but obviously it's linked with the other plate classes.

I don't wanna wear chain! :)

Where's Vorkiev?

Does anyone have a /loc of where Vorkiev is, or can tell what area he is at with some kind of directions to get to him?

*****************************

After some running around, and a corpse summoning, I found the /loc. Vorkiev stands at pos 1350 pos 1026, on the brim of Bone Cracker's hole. About mid left of the zone if looking at map. Also even if he scowls at you, he will NOT attack you, but even if your afraid of him scowling, he doesnt see invis either.

I think the Paladin's stuff is called "Oathbound," the Cleric's is called "Sanctified" and the Bard is called "Traveler's Mail"

http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemlist.html?searchtext=oathbound

http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemlist.html?searchtext=sanctified

http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemlist.html?searchtext=traveler%27s+mail

I haven't seen SK or War stuff yet.
