can a shadowknight ever get enough faction to get into kalidim?
I would think so. I have a warrior who worships Rallos-Zek and I was KOS in Kaladim when I first arrived (imagine my shock as a human being struck dead by guards while casually strolling through the entrance to the city). Go to Gfay and Crushbone and keep killing orcs until you have enough faction to get inside and turn in belts and pads. Once you start turning in belts and pads, your Kaladim factions will soar. You will have trouble with rogues/paladins/clerics, but you won't be KOS to guards/warriors/merchants. Kill bandits around Butcher Block to get rogue faction so you can bank (the bank is surrounded by rogues, so if you are still KOS to them, you won't get in). I don't know how you'll get your paladin/cleric factions up though. Once you do get them up enough to turn in bone chips in paladin guild, those factions will rise pretty quickly as well.

To raise pally and cleric factio, turn in illegible scrolls to Guildmaster Jyleel who is located in the pally hall in Felwithe. Hope you are not KOS. I think illegible scrolls fall off of orc oracles. Lots of them in crushbone. There are also some in Misty Thicket. The bad part is, you can only turn one scroll in at a time since they are lore items.
Do it with belts and shoulder pads, and you loose a LOT of Neriak Faction. Neriak Guards(Warrior guild) go down when you do these quests.

Dark Elves aren't the only ones who are KOS in Kaladim. You should only worry about not losing Neriak faction if you are, in fact, a Dark Elf.

Another quest is The dwarf skeleton quest, it is good and you dont need to have good faction. Its good to starrt out with to go and do this quest.

Anyone know how good of faction you need before you can do the quest? I turned 4 in and he got mad and said I was no better then an orc or crag, and acted like I tried to bribe him. Did the same when I tried to ask him about the quest too which I tried after turning them in.

Kill Orcs. Goblins do NOT give you faction with dwarves. Goblins give faction with Halflings. Turning in CB belts and pads is the quickest way to raise your faction. Turning in bone chips will get you good faction with the dwarf paladins, clerics and (I think) the guards.

Bumle is at the very back of the Paladin's guild. go through the door to the right of the guy that you give the bone chips to. Go right, down the hall, turn right into the room, and he's toward the back, to your right. Pretty certain that's him.
Oh, and for the person down below -- getting four talons on just two chicks is good, but not unheard of. No one had probably killed any for a while.

i ran through BB to get on the boat to freeport, i nuked 2 chicks on the way through not looking, and not knowing it was a quest, and curiously i looted them, i had 4 of them in 2 kills??? is that right!?

Actually, I didn't find this quest useful until my late teens and early 20s, when I started hunting Aviak Island in the Ocean of Tears. A remote location, but good experience for that level range ... and talons drop about half the time. I'd keep my bind in Kaladim, take the boat to Aviak island, kill until I was full up in inventory slots (most of them talons), then gate back to Kaladim. The quests were actually quite good experience in that level range (perhaps the aviak talons from the island are actually worth more to them?) and two backpacks full of talons would be enough to slap an extra bubble of experience on the pile!
What you have here actually is a different but related quest. After you've done the "chick" quest he will as you to turn in the talons of adult aviaks/crags. This is the one you are actually completing and you are right on for the ep and lvl range.

If you need bags or belt pouches... kill goblins. Anytime a noobie needs a bag or box... a lot of quests give you a container item, and out here welps drop bags and belt pouches. Sometimes when I need a spare bag I just slaughter any I see... I hope that helps.

I've done this quest once; received some gloves, gold (?) and xp. I don't make a point of it -- I find that the talons drop only rarely for me. I may have gotten more before I understood what to do with them. Now I just put one in the bank if I get it.
Last night on , I got jumped by an Elder, out by the Crossroads. He ran down my *** and started pounding on me (7th level Rogue); thankfully there were high-level buffers around who helped, and one who even jumped in and taunted when I was about one bubble away from death. He ran down my *** and started pounding on me (7th level Rogue); thankfully there were high-level buffers around who helped, and one who even jumped in and taunted when I was about one bubble away from death. I was given EXP (1/4 bub at 5th) 2 rusty weapons, 1 Tarnished weapon, 9 silver 2 copper for 4 talons. It mentioned the eldars quest but wouldnt tell me more about that quest.

Remember that newbie areas <save a few> are place holders for everything else. Kill a snake, a decaying skelly will pop in it's place. Kill a bat, a beetle will pop. It's something like that, but the chicks won't pop if you just run around looking for them. Well, maybe 1 or two. Hopes this helps!

The chicks aren't very rare - they seem to spawn in waves in the newbie area outside Kaladim. I've done this one several times. Usually tattered armor but i've also had two bronze weapons from it and decent exp for the levels required.

The chicks tend to spawn in numbers, so you have to be out at the right time to catch them. If you're never in BB when they spawn, you'll only catch stragglers that survive being hunted. I don't find the talons drop that seldom - more like 75% of the time, and on occasion I've had 2 talons on a chick.
If you're powerleveling a character quickly, you won't have had time to get some of this patchwork or weapons by the time you can take the chicks, so the reward is worth it. Also, I'm not the kind to begrudge anything I can at least sell for cash - even the coppers can add up.

For this quest you may get all of a piece of patchwork or tarnished weapon worth a couple gold at best. Thats not too bad except, the chicks are rare and only drop talon's 50% of the time or less.
