You say, 'Hail, Karsor the Mad'

The dragorn turns toward you with a crazed look in his eyes. 'Hail?. . . All day long I [study] here and all day long the dirty Human says, 'hail.' What do you know of 'hail'?! I know not of 'hail'! You have injured my soul forever!'

You say, 'Study?'

The dragorn glares at you and then falls silent. He stares into the distance for a moment, lost in thought. Without warning, he speaks again. 'Yes. I study [Discord]. Why do you ask?'

You say, 'Discord.'

Karsor the Mad says 'So, you know of Discord then! Excellent!' The dragorn extends his hand. 'I am a student of Yemall the Arcane, a dragorn noble who sought to [understand] the magic of Discord. He was a great teacher . . . until he died, leaving me to carry on the study of Discord alone. Some say the study of Discord has made me insane. Some say, 'Karsor, stop studying Discord! It is making you insane,' but I say to them, 'If I'm insane, then why are my eyes on fire?' Ha ha! That usually puts them in their place, especially when my eyes are, in fact, on fire.'

You say, 'Understand?'

Karsor the Mad says 'Ahhh, you want to understand too, do you? He he. Well, I've been studying the magic of Discord for ten years! That's a long time. So . . . I . . . understand! If you bring me a Muramite [rune], I can help you understand too.'

You say, 'What rune?'

Karsor the Mad says 'Hurry! We are running out of time! Time! It is imperative that you bring me a Muramite rune so I can translate it for you! Bring me one . . . bring one now or I will languish for eternity!'

There are six different types of Muramite Runes you acquire in Omens zones off of named mobs.

Minor Muramite Rune - Level 66
Lesser Muramite Rune - Level 67
Muramite Rune - Level 68
Greater Muramite Rune - Level 69
Glowing Muramite Rune - Level 70 Normals
Ancient Muramite Rune - Level 70 Ancients

Level 66-68 runes are droppable, 69-70 are not. Mobs tend to share loot table, so a mob that can drop a 66 tends to drop the 67 and 68 as well. Single-group nameds from most Omens zones can drop level 66-68 runes. 69-70 runes are dropped off of raid mobs in lesser zones and off of one-group nameds in Wall of Slaughter and above.


Upon handing in a Minor Muramite Rune:

Karsor the Mad says 'Hmm, a bit of magic you have discovered! I'll write the meaning of this rune onto a parchment for you. Don't show anyone else. They wouldn't understand!'

Upon handing in a Lesser Muramite Rune:

The dragorn begins translating the rune. He mutters to himself while furiously scribbling on a parchment. When he's done, he hands you the parchment and turns his head quizzically, 'When did you get here?'

Upon handing in a Muramite Rune:

Karsor the Mad says 'Quite a find, for a filthy Human! Yes, indeed! Quite a find! Give me a moment while I decipher this rune. Do not disturb me. Do not!' The dragorn furiously scribbles on a piece of parchment. He looks back and forth from the rune to the parchment, wiping sweat from the scales on his brow, muttering to himself. When he's finished, he hands you a parchment. The arcane text is written in a circle that spirals toward the center of the scroll. 'Sorry,' he shrugs. 'That's the only way it could possibly make sense.'

Upon handing in a Greater Muramite Rune:

Karsor the Mad says 'The filthy little Dark Elf has brought me a rune! How thoughtful! In return I shall translate its magic for you. You must keep this secret though! Mata Muram has spies everywhere.' The dragorn surreptitiously points to his own shadow and leans in close, nodding gravely.

Upon handing in a Glowing Muramite Rune:

Karsor the Mad says 'Excellent find! I can decipher that for you.' The dragorn translates the rune onto a scroll as a strange wind arises from nowhere. 'You feel the magic of Discord, my friend?' he asks without looking up from his work. 'It's tangible in the air. It's tangible . . . and they call me crazy! Hmph.'

Upon handing in an Ancient Muramite Rune:

The dragorn giggles as he sets about translating the rune onto a scroll. When he's finished, he looks up with a crazed energy in his eyes. 'What is this? What have you brought me?! This has sliced deep into my soul. Take your translation and go!'

You receive spells back in a set sequence for each rune type. With the exception of ancients, the spell scrolls that you receive are droppable.

If you've already got all the spells for a certain level, and turn in a rune, you'll get the rune back:


Karsor throws the rune back at you. 'What is this! We've been over this rune already! My soul burns with fury and you are stoking the embers!'

If you bought a spell from the Bazaar, that spell will be skipped in the order seen here.

According to the list for lvl 69 SHM spells, "You also receive Balance of Discord if you do not have it yet after any Greater Muramite Rune turn-in."

I just did my first Greater Muramite Rune turn-in and all I got was the Balance of Discord spell. I'm not complaining, just a little disappointed that I didn't see Talisman of Fortitude first (with by this description, I was supposed to receive Balance of Discord as a bonus prize). lol

The way it was written, and the way the other added spells were, is that being as the spells were added much later after many had already gotten spells, SOE needed to make it so they could get the added spells as well.
Technically, it makes a check and if you don't have the added spell for that lvl, you automatically receive it. So if you have not turned in any spells for that level at all you automatically receive the added spell instead of the original first spell.
Therefore it basically counts as the first spell for anyone just beginning, but it will automatically be the next spell for those who do not have it.
It replaces the next spell you receive.

When I turned Greaters in for my cleric it went:
1: Yaulp VII
2: Mark of the Blameless
3: Word of Vivification
4: Calamity
5: Aura of Devotion

In a completely unrelated topic, I've only gotten two Greaters for my enchanter, and it's gone like this:

1: Mayhem
2: Euphoria

so, the list on the top isn't correct, unless the turnin's have been made random.

Perhaps they rearranged the list after I got Mayhem, I admit that it was a couple months ago (I think it was in early september.)

That is quite possible. But I know I got mayhem first.

Now that this spell is live, it is ALWAYS the next 69 rune you turn in. I had no 69 spells and turned in a rune last nite and got BoD.

BTW...its a nice, quick casting 75% slow. Has a neg resist to it which really helps. In normal groups, I don't even bother malo'ing anymore.

Well..it might be the first or maybe random, I have had one 69 spell on my Shaman for awhile, and next greater rune I turned in gave me Balance of Discord instead of Pure Spirit.

Balance of Discord is now the first 69 rune for Shamans, followed by the original 5: Talisman of Fortitude, Pure Spirit, Talisman of Perseverance, Curse of Sisslak, Ice Age. So if you are partway through your 69 runes and don't have Balance of Discord yet, you will receive it next.

I'm a 70 enchanter, and I had only 2 69 spells for a very long time (Mayhem and then Arcane Noose). When I got three more 69 runes after the new spell came out (Desolate Deeds) my spells were given to me in the following order > Euphoria, Desolate Deeds, and Color Snap.

I have to say that the new slows given to enchanters and shaman have been moved up in the order. You still require one rune per spell as well. I need my last 69 rune and it most definately will get me Wake of Felicity.

Frankly, I'm quite happy about this turn of events as I view the last spell to be instant enchanter death, and anyplace I'm comfortable using an AoE mezz would make Wake of Felicity overkill.
Enchanter 68/69 error

Picked up all enchanter 68 spells together at once today. The order was:

1) Clairvoyance
2) Wall of Alendar
3) Compel
4) Psychosis
5) Wake of Felicity Correction: Circle of Dreams

Currently, the enchanter list above shows Wake of Felicity as the final 69 spell. It is, in fact, the final 68 spell. Correction: The final 68 spell is Circle of Dreams, and I have no information about Wake of Felicity.

Wake of Felicity is still a level 69 spell. They recently added something where you get certain spells ahead of time, but I don't know the mechanism yet. If anyone can explain it, I'd be happy to alter the quest data to reflect this.

You are correct, I just recognized my error: I did not get "Wake of Felicity", I received "Circle of Dreams", a 68 spell that is not listed above at all at the moment. I got thrown by the similarity between WoM (Word of Morrell) and WoF. That's what I get for not actually writing the names down before coming here. It was, in fact, the final spell I received, and is level 68.

The 69 listing is most likely correct, or at least I have no evidence against it. I apologize for the mis-statement.

Did 6th turn in of a muramite rune today, 30 July to see if there were any more spells other than what is listed and got Deistic Howl, a fear for mobs up to 65. This isn't listed about and needs to be updated.

I had all my level 68 spells, upon turning in an additional level 68 rune I got Deistic Howl on the cleric line.

Not sure if its truely last, but I did an extra turn-in and got that one.

Anyone know how to get our 66 undead fear? My assumption is more minor runes.

No, for me it came directly after Euphoria, so I believe that will make it your 4th turn in. I posted above here as well on the title Balance of Discord. If your having trouble getting runes, try Riftseekers - I have gotten several simply because the groups there had no need for them (ie Rotting)

The 2 orb line of spells for necros are through DoN, the first is bought with 120 crystals, the second is a result of completing tier 3 of progression

Of all the casters, why do they constantly ***** over clerics? Look at all the major group spells in each of the priest classes and the cleric is the ONLY one who has to have ALL their level 70 runes in order to get the most desired group spell, HoC. This isn't the first time spell turn ins have been like this either. SoE...I hope Tunare strikes some sense into you one day.

To put it short : Because clerics have it too good already -- DvA, group heals, group HoTs, an epic that also has DvA ... DA, BDA. Focus more on what you have compared to shamans/druids and not on what ticks you off.
Sure, a group version of a buffspell is nice .. but you don't really need it unless you're raiding. And when you're raiding .......

Think about it :P

thats bogus cleric dont have it too good already next to a silky we have the lowest hps in the game majority speaking that is i know some clanks that differ ...the reason we have rez and clicky rez and 100% rez aas is so we dont loose all our experience everytime we die trying to save ur butt! and it is bogus that we are the only class has to have all our runes so maNY OTHER CLASSES CAN JUST SKIP IT AND IVE SEEN SOME SKIP THE WHOLE LVL OF RUNES! we cant and dont say we dont need it ...have u looked at the mana cost to single cast it? unless ur twinked u have to sit and med after like 3 single casts...how annoying is that and do u really want to wait on ur cleric that long or do u just hoot at them for not being good enough? the grp version only consumes half ur bar in most non-raid geared cases ....its high time eq players stop taking ur clercs for granted so much! Pft and u wonder why we go on strike so much!

Where you get the idea only raiders get this? You ever been sat in a group after a wipe waiting 3 times as long as any other to med as you have to single cast conviction to each member, plus to the pets too. In places like RSS the extra hp from conviction over Virtue can make a difference. Point is the number of useless stuns we HAVE to get before we get the spell that DOES make a difference to a cleric in a group.

And not ever cleric has the 1.5 clicky arb epic.

WRONG!! u need 1 more for your Pet they changed the Order. I did first 2 turn ins, 1 was Sha's and 2nd was Pet.

I'd just like to say this is BS from SOE. I've leveled from 60-66 in WoS and seen maybe 2 runes drop. This is insane, just plain stupid. How are people like me that can't afford to buy these runes ever going to get the spells? SOE seems to enjoy making it impossible for newer players from ever catching up to those that have played for 6 years. Thanks a lot SOE

why do you expect that after 6 months of play you should be in the same position as someone after 6 years of play? shoudln't you be in their position in 6 years? that's why you can't be on par with people who play for a long time, because you haven't.

Hmm... They must've upped the drop rate recently. Only spent about 8 hours in WoS and had atleast two runes drop every named, and we had around a total of ten named.
