This part of Gates of Discord progression follows your completion of the Summoner Ring quest (note that some elements of Kod'Taz progression can be completed outside of the order outlined here, which is but one path you can take).

Pit of the Lost

When you spoke with Kevren Nalavat about "other tasks", you saw:

Kevren Nalavat says 'As I suspected, you're ready for some challenging work! I must warn you though, what lies ahead is not for the faint of heart. The other tasks that are available deal with three other areas. Those areas are the [Martyrs Passage], the [Pit of the Lost], and the [Crumbled Sanctuary] of the Divine. Choose the one you wish to attempt and we can continue.'

You say, 'What about the Pit of the Lost?'

Kevren Nalavat says 'I'm glad you've decided to continue helping the brotherhood. We can always use adventurers like you. There have been some mysterious happenings coming from the Pit of the Lost. I don't have the information on what's going on, but another of the brotherhood nearby does. You must venture south of the Martyrs Passage and speak with Tublik Narwethar. He will know what's going on.'

Tublik

Head to the far southwestern part of the zone where you'll find Tublik Narwethar (click for map image) at about /loc -2000, 1275, -348.

You say, 'Hail, Tublik Narwethar'

Tublik Narwethar glances at you suspiciously. 'Can I help you with something? Did Kevren send you about the Pit of the Lost? Speak up!'

You say, 'Kevren sent me'

Tublik Narwethar says 'Ah yes, so he did. I've been dealing with some others that Kevren has sent my way. What can I do for you specifically?'

You say, 'Tell me about the Pit of the Lost'

Tublik Narwethar says 'I see Kevren finally sent someone to me to look into the pit. It's about time! I've been telling him over and over that there are some really strange things going on in the Pit of the Lost to the north of here, but he just doesn't seem to want to pay enough attention to the claims. In any case, you're here now and that means that you must be [willing to look] into the odd occurrences, right?'

You say, 'I am willing to look'

Tublik Narwethar says 'I'm glad I can count on you. You need to know a couple things before you go. As I said, there are strange things going on in the pit, but we're not sure what they are yet. We have sensed an energy force emanating from that area and believe there are some kind of artifacts there that must be collected. We need you to [collect the artifacts] and return them so we can study them.'

You say, 'I'll collect the artifacts'

Tublik hands you a bag and says, 'Place four artifacts you find from the pit in this bag and seal it off. Return the sealed bag to me when you're done so I can further examine what you find. Make haste to the Pit of the Lost and be careful -- there's no telling what kind of evils are waiting for you there. If you have someone else with you that [needs a bag], have them tell me so.'

You receive "Tublik's Bag".

Relic Devotees

Head to the very far northwestern part of the zone where you'll find a large pit (the "Pit of the Lost") swarming with undead. Among the mobs that can spawn in place of standard trash mobs are "Forlorn Relic Devotees" - these mobs are tougher than the general zone population. They hit for a max ~1,700 and are immune to all forms of crowd control.

Kill and loot them until you've collected four items:

Minor Relic of Energy: Nep
Minor Relic of Energy: Oxa
Minor Relic of Energy: Suv
Minor Relic of Energy: Tek

Combine these in "Tublik's Bag" to produce "Tublik's Sealed Bag", and then turn it in to Tublik.

Tublik Narwethar says 'You're done already? I wasn't expecting such a prompt response, but nicely done _____! Give me a while to examine these artifacts. I should have some additional information for you once you return.'

The Ageless Relic Protector

You say, 'Hail, Tublik Narwethar'

Tublik Narwethar says 'Welcome back, _____. I've been looking over those artifacts you returned to me in the sealed bag and I'm afraid I have some disturbing news. It seems the artifacts weren't artifacts at all, but objects of ghastly power held by the dark spirits you collected them from. What's worse is that since you've collected these objects, the energy emanating from the pit has [gotten stronger]!'

You say, 'Gotten stronger?'

Tublik Narwethar says 'The power wasn't as noticeable before. Now, though, it seems there's a fiend in the pit that's become agitated by the removal of these objects we've been collecting. I believe that whatever is behind the energy disruption kept a watchful eye over those objects. Now that they're gone, I believe it will try to find them again and destroy anything and everything in its path in the process. You must [stop it] before it has a chance!'

You say, 'I'll stop it!'

Tublik Narwethar says 'You must return to the Pit of the Lost and find whatever this fiend is and destroy it. I believe that it will have some kind of artifact that is linked to the ones you returned to me in the sealed bag. Return whatever it may have to me. Good luck, _____, I have no doubt that the artifact it holds will be as interesting of a find as anything else we've uncovered so far!'

Head back to the Pit of the Lost where you'll now find the "Ageless Relic Protector" overlooking the western edge of the pit.

The Ageless Relic Protector recognizes those who took its relics and prepares for battle.

Ageless Relic Protector charges those who stole the relics it protects!

The mob hits for a max ~2,200 and AEs "Strike of Glory". Upon its death, it splits into 2x "Ageless Relic Protector" (hit for a max ~1,500 each):

Ageless Relic Protector gets its bearings and continues its assault on the relic thieves!

Each of these two split mobs split into an additional 3x "Ageless Relic Protector" (for a total of six more) which need to be killed to complete the event. The final splits hit a bit harder than the second splits, but not much more difficult. All mobs are immune to all crowd control. No balancing is required.

Ageless Relic Protector has been slain by _____!

Each of the final six split mobs drops a "Protector's Relic of Energy" (turn-in item for this quest).

One of the mobs drops one item of loot:

Ageless Spectral Cuffs
Gaunt Veil of Purification
Haggard Trusik Shawl
Reflective Orb of Energy
Sandals of Spectral Ferocity

Return to Tublik

Hand in the "Protector's Relic of Energy" to Tublic Narwethar:

Tublik Narwethar says 'Excellent! We don't have to worry about that abomination any longer. This artifact you found on the creature is also quite unique. It will be a while before I have a chance to look it over, but it's nice to have it in our possession nonetheless. Well done once again, _____. I look forward to working with you again soon!'

This completed the "Pit of the Lost" portion of Gates of Discord progression.

You say, 'Give me a progress update'

Finished! - You can now retry any of the trials at any time!
Finished! - You have completed the trial at the Temple of Singular Might!
Finished! - You have completed the trial at the Temple of Twin Struggles!
Finished! - You have completed the trial at the Temple of the Tri-Fates!
Finished! - You've been commissioned to investigate the Martyrs Passage!
Finished! - You've returned four relics from the Martyrs Passage!
Finished! - You've returned valuable information as to why the Muramites are in the Martyrs Passage!
Finished! - You've been commissioned to investigate the Temple of the Damned!
Finished! - You've recovered important glyphs from the Temple of the Damned!
Finished! - You've successfully translated the glyphs you found in the Temple of the Damned!
Finished! - You've collected the Minor Relics of Power from the Pit of the Lost!
Finished! - You've rescued the artifact from the Ageless Relic Protector in the Pit of the Lost!
Kod'Taz still has secrets left to uncover...

Moving On

You are now done with the Pit of the Lost.

Next up is the "Crumbled Sanctuary".

Regarding: Task #1 - Crumbled Sanctuary

Once you have a set of three (locations?), hand them back to Tublik for the next line of progress text.

They are located at:
Ikkinz Group 1: -1428, -308, -336 at the very top level of the south rampart, out in the open
Ikkinz Group 2: -1642, -902, -404 inside sitting in a bowl on a table
Ikkinz Group 3: -1045, -704, -407 next to a bench in the corner, inside

Regarding: Task #2 - Pit of the Lost (Optional)

The text asks: (called what?)

They are called:
Minor Relic of Energy: Suv
Minor Relic of Energy: Nep
Minor Relic of Energy: Tek
Minor Relic of Energy: Oxa

You combine them in "Tublik's Bag" to get: "Tublik's Sealed Bag"

Regarding: /loc of Tublik?

Tublik Narwethar is located at: -2020, 1284, -346 in Kod'Taz (way south of zone between the two exits to Yxtta)

On test server.

The martyr's passage piece apart from the relic's is wrong. Someone already pointed out "Inscribed Flesh Dispatch" is the correct item.

I didn't have to do ANY of the temple of the damned line of task. In fact, it wasnt even an option when I hailed either of the quest NPCs and neither of them responded to "temple of the damned". I just needed Ikkinz 1-3 group, Martyr's passage, crumbling sanctuary, and Ikkinz 1-3 raid.

You say, 'Hail, Kevren Nalavat'

Kevren looks relieved to see you. 'Finally the Wayfarers Brotherhood has sent adventurers this far out. I was beginning to wonder what was happening. I'm Kevren Nalavat, one of the brotherhood's traveling scholars. We can talk [more] later. The important thing is that you're here and now that you are you'll need to prove that you're up to the challenges facing us on this rugged terrain. I've been all through this area and it's no place to be caught unaware! So what do you say? Are you [ready to be tested]?'

You say, 'let's talk more.'

Kevren Nalavat says 'Well I haven't always been the bold adventurer you see before you. I know I may not look too daring, but that's because I'm trying to keep a low profile. Before I joined the Wayfarers Brotherhood I was a learned scholar and knowledge-seeker. I sought to uncover the mysteries of ancient ruins and civilizations lost long ago. I was so focused on my studies that most of my colleagues thought I bordered on [crazy].'

You say, 'crazy?'

Kevren Nalavat says 'Yes, crazy. I didn't mind though. I knew most of them would never uncover a full understanding of the past like I was. I continued my studies until I was approached by Morden Rasp -- I'm sure you've heard of him. He contacted me and said he was going to begin gathering artifacts from civilizations lost to the ages and that my skills were going to be needed in the times to come. I couldn't help but [join him].'

You say, 'why did you join him?'

Kevren Nalavat says 'His offer was irresistible! Since I joined the brotherhood I have provided my continuing expertise about lost civilizations. Of course, Morden told me that just being a scholar wasn't going to be enough. He said I had to learn some other skill to stay with the brotherhood as an explorer. I had already learned so much so quickly and didn't dare leave with all the new and exciting items we were getting from adventurers, so I decided to learn how to become a rogue so I could [sneak around] to collect what I needed.'

You say, 'i am ready to be tested'

Kevren nods his approval, 'Good to hear! If you're interested I can give you a little [background information] about the mountaintop here before we get started, otherwise I'll explain the [trials] to you.'

You say, 'what trials'

Kevren's look turns serious. 'There are any number of new threats with these invaders and we're unsure just how powerful or how many of them there are. We need to make sure that those of you being sent up here to find that information out for us won't be scared off by the destructive force these invaders bring along with them. The trials must be done in a [specific order] and must all be completed before we can allow you to attempt any further work for the brotherhood.'

You say, 'what specific order?'

Kevren Nalavat says 'There exist three temples nearby that you must enter. I have defined these three as the Temple of [Singular Might], Temple of [Twin Struggles], and Temple of the [Tri-Fates]. In each lay the forces of the Legion of Mata Muram who must be destroyed. You must not be fooled, we do not control these temples. The areas are controlled by the [Muramites], but we believe that these places hold the most predictable of the invaders and can be used easily as our testing grounds.'

You say, 'who are the muramites?'

Kevren Nalavat says 'The Muramites aren't from Norrath. We're not sure where they're from yet, but that's one of the things we're trying to uncover. They are part of the Legion of Mata Muram, and though we don't know who Mata Muram is just yet, we believe he is their leader. Back to the issue at hand, the Muramites keep a steady flow of reinforcements into these three temples to ensure that they maintain control of them. We use the temples to ensure that we have capable expeditioners to eradicate more of the creatures that serve in the legion.'

You say, 'what about the temple of singular might?'

Kevren Nalavat says 'Beyond the dark fog to the south lies the Temple of Singular Might. You can find it between the two other temples. In front of the temple you will find a single, smaller temple where another of the brotherhood is waiting for you. Seek out Gazak Klelkek and speak to him about the troubles within the temple.'

The item for the second turn in to Kevren after getting the "Investigate Martyr's Passage" quest is definitely "Inscribed Flesh Dispatch" (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=30124). "Parchment of Flesh" never drops.

after you cleared the temple of the damned and showed the 4 glyphs to kevren he asks you to translate them. pick up 4 groundspawns in martyrs passage, go to tublik narwetha and hand him one of the glyphs and he gives it back to you along with a container for combining the dusts and the glyphs. result is the translated glyph that you return to kevren for the update.

Tublik Narwethar's Tasks, Task #2, Pit of the lost. In this pit are ten undead. Forlorn Relic Devotee is the named, and seem to be there at a rate of 2 in ten, not sure if it is always two, or varies. So far in four clears, they have dropped: Minor Relic of Energy: Suv, Minor Relic of Energy: Tek, and Minor Relic of Energy: Oxa. I expect there is a fourth, but have had duplicates of the ones just mentioned. I have solo'd the whole pit several times, died once doing it, and needed weapon shield once on a double pull. The nameds hit for up to 1500 (the one that killed me). I have found one of the trash mobs in there casting Inner Fire on my spell casting awareness, and have been malo'd and tash'd. I expect that some of the are hasting one another, but don't know for sure. I pull with a dispell for good luck. The trash mobs can be snared, the nameds are immmune to changes in run speed. Nothing summons so far. The trash mobs are: a destitute spirit, a destitute malcontent, an outcast defector, a forsaken misbeliever, and an infernal derserter. Everything in the pit appears to be undead. They all see through regular invis, and the nameds see through regular invis and invis to undead. Single pulls are the usual, but it is possible to get doubles as they can stand on top of one another when moving around the pit. They move up to the top edge of the pit, and so far I haven't seen them move past the top edge. Pathing is okay here, but I did have one take a weird path to me on a pull once due to a rock. They can be pulled past the edges of the pit easitly. There is a lot of room around the edges to move around, buff, and fight. There are three Ra`Tuk Rabidfuries near by in the acccess canyon, who I clear for exp. One is a potential add depending on how you pull the pit. I haven't tried to trigger the raid event yet.

The fourth quest item from the pit of the lost (first part) is Minor Relic of Energy: Nep. This one hit for 1375 once, and spent the last part of his existence casting the following spells: Ice Spear of the Soloist, Shock of Magic, and Draught of Fire, all of which were resisted, some more than once. I finished that one with over 90% health compared to the one that killed me. They seem to be highly variable in damage output. Good Luck.

Say "Pit of the Lost" to Tublik and follow his quest text to recieve a four-slot combine container (what container?) and the following progress text. (note: you can gather the relics before doing this, or destroy the bag and get a new one when ready to proceed.)

Tublik's Bag is the container. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=62600

Now head to the Pit of the Lost in the far northwestern corner of Kod'Taz. It's a seperate area off the main courtyard. Once there you will need a strong 1-2 groups to farm for Forlorn Relic Devotee's. These drop four unique relics that you need a full set of. Once you have a full set, combine them (to produce what?) and hand the finished item back to Tublik for the next line of progress text.

It produces, Tublik's Sealed Bag, https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=58662

At this point Kevren asks you to retrieve another valuable piece of information. He's referring to Parchment of Flesh that drops commonly from just about everything in the Martyrs passage, you should have gotten a ton of them farming the previous stage. Hand him the flesh for the next line of progress text.

The piece of information Kevren is looking for is actually the Inscribed Flesh Dispatch.

Grand Summoner Glyph did not drop

We talked to KevinM and started the summoner event.

We killed the 9 Pixxt Priest Summoners the Pixxt High Summoner etc until Hexxt spawned. We killed him and then finally the 6 deranged supreme stoneservants. Yet the golems did not have any BIC pieces on them. The Chaos Provoker and Grand Summoner both had loot.

Anyone have a clue to what we did not do correctly?

Kevren then asks you to translate the four glyphs. For this part you will need four Piles of Dust from the Martyrs Passage. These are ground spawns between the little buildings where the Martyrs spawned earlier. Combine the four relics with the four dust in the bag Kevren gives you, then hand the result back to him for the next line of progress text.

kevren does not give the "bag".. tublik does. Also the bag is called "stone tablet" , for clarification purposes. here is kevrin's text implying to go see tublik:

after handing kevrin the 4 glpyhs of the damned:
"He will tell you they need to be cleaned and will give all four of them back to you and tell you to go to Tublik. You should now have ‘You’ve recovered important glyphs from the Temple of the Damned’ and ‘Pending - You haven’t translated the glyphs gathered from the Temple of the Damned’ in your progress update."

i do not kevrin's exact text, sorry, only info from this post -> https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=2876;page=1;howmany=50#11268905837434

Quote:
The Temple of the Damned is the temple just South of Kevren. Clear into the far east room, in the northeast corner is a small box. /open that box and a mob with four guards will spawn (named of mobs?). Kill it for loot, each of the four guards (names?) drop four unique Glyphs of the Damned. You need a full set of these. Hand them in to Kevren for next line of progress text.

i'm pretty sure that the "box" you open is actually 'a pile of bones' . I will check in a sec, and see if i can get the names of the spawned mobs that drops the 4 glyphs.

hey guys, i'm stuck and i can't seem to be able to request the ikkinz4 raid trial even after completting every task possible from kev and tub. this link is a screenshot i have on my comcast webspace that shows me hailing tublik, doing progress update, and asking "what mystery" to show what raid trials are available.

is ikkinz4 raid requested from a different NPC? or am i simply not saying the proper text to request ikkinz4 from tublik?

These events and steps can be done out of order -- BUT, if you want proper flagging, you need to be careful with the hails and turns ins/pre-flags.

Generally speaking, each step requires a "pre-flag" (NPC chat) and afterwards, the turn-ins (from task) complete the flag and open up the next "pre-flag" (NPC chat again).

So -- save those items until you have the right ones to do the first turn-in (after pre-flag), then get the second pre-flag, do the 2nd turn-in, get the third pre-flag and so forth -- in the right sequence.

Otherwise, you will find, as I did, that while the NPC will take the turn ins (eat them), the full flag will not be awarded because you never got the pre-flag and back to stage one on that particular step.

My guild did this just for laughs awhile ago. I figured I'd get this quest going and do open raids to open up qvic to the rest of the server. Maybe even do some txevu. I got all three artifacts, did the combines, and handed the icon of the alter to Tubik. His line was, "You can't have this? What kind of trickery is this? I'm alerting the proper autorities you thief." I suspect the GM's are not going to give me my icon back. It's worth a try. If I choose to do this again, is there any quicky way to do this?

It took three petitions for me.
First - the GM reimbursed the Icon of the Altar since Tublik did not return it.
Second - the GM stated the quest was working as intended and there was no record of me obtaining any of the three artifacts.
Third - the GM stated I shouldn't complain about GM's when I prove them wrong through contradiction, but reimbursed the three artifacts.

To obtain the secret flags from Tublik, complete progression as his text requests. When it seems like you are at a dead end, you should be able to hand him each one of the artifacts. After handing in each one and getting them back, you should be flagged to for more of the script in which Tublik informs you how to craft the Icon of the Altar.

You don't get the bag from Kevren.

You get it from Tubik by saying:

and then
Stone Tablet

You receive the Bag and can combine the Pile Dusts and the Glyphs of the Damned in it. Then you hand in the translated thing to Kevren

After you said to Tublik

Keveren sent me
and
Stone Tablet

You have to hand him a Glyphed of the Damned, then you get the bag called Stone Tablet.
Ground spawn relic

There is also a casket in the southwestern small building that has a ground-spawn relic in it. (Unsure if this spawned relic is a particular one relic needed, or random?)

I feigned over this spawn point and collected the item three times. Each time it was the same relic, identified as third of four. This is one of the relics used for the quest.

I do not know if this is the only one that can spawn at this point. Post if you have seen a different one.

I did Tipt and got my KT flag, looted drops from ikky 1-3 raids (and hopefully ikky 4 tonight).

Do I have to complete all steps above in order to zone into Uqua (solo/group/raid)?

No, as long as one person in the raid can request the Uqua instance, you don't need ANY of that stuff to zone in.

My very first GoD raid was Uqua. Fun stuff :)
Task #3 - Summoner Ring Error in Text

Task #3 - Summoner Ring

Say "think you can do" to Kevren to recieve the next line of progress text.

Finished! - You've been charged with stopping the ceremony at the Summoning Circle!

The Summoner Ring event is found just before entering the main Kod'Taz courtyard area where the Ikkinz raid entrences are found. Once the Grand Summoner is dead you need to loot a Grand Summoner's Glyph and hand it in to Kevren to recieve the next line of progress text.

Finished! - You were able to recover a rare artifact from the Grand Summoner's goons in the Summoning Circle!

Slight error here ... you should actually say "think I can do it" to get the proper flags. I followed the text given then turned in my Gylph from summoners event and got it eaten :(

in this section that refers to a "parchment of flesh" that is needed for Martyrs Passage, what you really need is an "Inscribed Flesh Dispatch"
