You say, 'Hail, Rilwind Sitnai'

Rilwind Sitnai says 'Greetings. We are busy here, and I have little time for pleasantries. I can sell you supplies, if you have need. I can even help you fix up that old Jeweler's [Kit] of yours. Or perhaps you are here to [assist] me with my work?'

You say, 'What about the kit?'

Rilwind Sitnai says 'Ah, well, we've been working on improving our ability to work with liquid precious metals. To do that, we've had to improve our kits. We've made them a bit larger, and added some reinforcements to help them resist the heat. Neysia can make one for you, just find a turepta shell and two shimmering steel threads and hand them to me along with your Jeweler's Kit and she'll make you a new one.'

Neysia Morningbloom may be found at -140, +210, +98.

You say, 'Hail, Neysia Morningbloom'

Neysia Morningbloom says 'Greetings. I can sell you supplies, if you have need or, I can even help you fix up that old Jeweler's [Kit] of yours. Additionally if you like I can convert the various grades of raw Nihilite for you. I will keep a small amount for our use. I will convert raw amber nihilite, raw crimson nihilite, raw indigo nihilite and raw shimmering nihilite.'

You say, 'What Kit?'

Neysia Morningbloom says 'We've been working on improving our ability to work with liquid precious metals. To do that, we've had to improve our kits. We've made them a bit larger, and added some reinforcements to help them resist the heat. I can make one for you, just find a turepta shell and two shimmering steel threads and hand them to me along with your Jeweler's Kit and I'll make you a new one.'

Turepta Shells are uncommon drops from various tureptas in GoD zones. Shimmering Steel Thread may be purchased elsewhere on the ship from either Garald Samer or Tonlyei Lyhin. The Jeweler's Kit is purchasable from jewelcraft merchants in the same room. Give her the items.

Neysia Morningbloom says 'Good work! Here is your new kit.'

The reward is the Reinforced Jeweler's Kit, used in most GoD jewelcraft recipes.

Should really change the quest giver here to Neysia Morningbloom.

Hand in the following to Neysia Morningbloom:
  • 1 Turepta Shell
  • 2 Shimmering Steel Thread -- sold by sewing vendors
  • 1 Jeweler's Kit -- sold by jewelry vendors in the same room

But since the Reinforced Jeweler's Kit you get back has the same stats as a Planar Jeweler's Kit, what's the point? Are there still recipes that require the GoD one?

yes, there are. I've spent a ridiculous number of hours on the apprentice smithing quest (started monday and this is thursday night). One of the combines requires specifically the reinforced jewelers' kit.

Thanks, changed quest giver and added the jewelry kit can be obtained by merchants in the same room.

There are still a set of recipes that are only combinable in the reinforced Jeweler's kit (as of a few weeks ago anyway). They are the "kits" related to making GoD weapons. If you're not going to make any of those, then you don't really need the Reinforced.

Oh yeah I see now there are still GoD recipes that require this particular container. Iridescent Scale Headdress, for example, part of the Artisan's Prize.

Iridescent Scale Headdress can be done in Planar Jeweler's Kit, too. The recipe in Allakhazam database has been updated recently.

Don't give the 3 things in the same trade. I have put the Jeweler's Kit, Shimmering Steel Thread and Turepta Shell in the same trade windows, and the reward was nothing !

I have buy another Kit. She back to me. I have buy another Shimmering. She give me the reinforced kit.

She says to give her 2 thread, you only gave her one at the start. Nothing here is surprising. You should perhaps read more carefully.

Be sure you hand Neysia 2 Shimmering Steel Threads and not just one. I handed in one of everything not realizing I needed 2 of the threads. I went back and got another Turepta Shell and came back to Rilwind and spoke to him. That is where I noticed I was supposed to hand in 2 threads. I handed in one more thread and received the Reinforced Jeweler's kit. I hope this helps eliminate some confusion.
Updated dialogue..

The above dialogues for Rilwal Sitnai are correct. He directs you in his dialogue to Neysia. Neysia Morningbloom is also a questgiver... loc is -142, +210, +98.

Neysia Morningbloom says ‘Greetings. I can sell you supplies, if you have need or, I can even help you fix up that old Jeweler’s [Kit] of yours. Aditionally (sic) if you like I can convert the various grades of raw Nihilite for you. I will keep a small amount for our use. I will convert raw amber nihilite, raw crimson nihilite, raw indigo nihilite and raw shimmering nihilite.’

You say, "what kit?"

Neyesia Morningbloom says ‘We’ve been working on improving our ability to work with liquid precious metals. To do that, we’ve had to improve our kits. We’ve made them a bit larger, and added some reinforcements to help them resist the heat. I can make one for you, just find a turepta shell and two shimmering steel threads and hand them to me along with your Jeweler’s Kit and I’ll make you a new one.’

After turn in of the four items...

Neysia Morningbloom says ‘Good work! Here is your new kit.’

The Shimmering Steel Thread seems not to be necessary anymore. It is still listed with the quest giver, but Neysia gave it back to be with the "no need" message. Got the Reinforce Kit despite of that.

I tried to give Rilwind Sitnai the items (Jeweler's Kit, Turepta shell, and 2 shimmering steel thread <separately of course>) and was told he could not use these items, and, thankfully, got all 4 back. Went to the lady high elf sister next to him, Neysia Morningbloom, and gave her the items, and received my Reinforced Jeweler's Kit and a little xp too =)).

Hope this helps.

Got the shell on the first kill, that luck never happens for me. Turned it in and got nothing back. Turned in one more string and got the bag. So you need two strings. Palladium bars here we come.

nothing if you give Rilwind Sitnai the three items and he eats them and does not even talk to you?? I gave him my jeweler's kit and the shimmering steel thread and the tureta shell and got nothing in return.... I can buy another kit and thread and have more turepta shells but hesitate to try again? Rilwind Sitnai is at minus 163, plus 213, plus 98 inside the ship not far from the bankers...(5 or 7 rooms??in different hall)....Tonlyei Lyhin and Garald Samer are in one of the sheds on the deck with the armor merchants.. (loc: plus 48, plus 148, plus 115).....When I finally got this bag... it is no trade.... not what I wanted... and the Thread is 53 plat... oh well... I had "fun" looking up the npc to do the quest... hehe... It appears that you must talk to Rilwind and ask about the kit or lose your materials....I say this because I did not talk to him about the kit the first time and lost my materials... I got more materials and talked to him and got my kit...

Physical directions to Rilwind Sitnai and bankers: from the magus go south thru the door and down the stairs, then west to the second flight of stairs on your left to the lower part of the ship, then to the door by the stairs on the lower deck (west door by the stairs. Go north thru the door and to the second door on the right to find Rilwind Sitnai....

Bankers are north down the hall from Rilwind Sitnai, stop before entering the big room down the stairs at the end of the hall and turn right.
open the door and proceed east to the wall and turn right to proceed to first door on your left as you go south... ( four bankers... wow) must have thought this place would be really busy... room to small for many though... hehe...)

Physical directions to Shimmering Silver Thread merchants: from the magus go south thru the door and turn right to the end of the building and turn right again. Continue north til you reach the end of the building. There are two sheds on the deck with doors facing each other (slightly juxtapositioned) with a dome between them. Go into the one to the east or right hand side and turn to your right inside the door to find Tonlyei Lyhin and Garald Samer to buy the needed Shimmering Silver Thread....

Hope this helps those who come after me and hope all is clear... I wandered around a lot because these npc did not show on my track as 63 ranger... even when I was standing next to them they did not appear on track...

I have always been able to use it before yesterday.

One of the last updates broke it. Have bug reported it. Tried a petition, but GM said it was not correctable by him, and had to be fixed in a later patch. Be good for as many people as possible to /bug report it so it gets fixed.

I just came out of a sewers trial with 3 of these shells, so they must have changed the drop rate> I think it's insane to have all these different kinds of kits, however.

They need to make ONE kit for each tradeskill that you can upgrade for various purposes, kind of like how you add augments to your gear.

For example, they could make a new Augmentable Jewelcrafting Kit (or kit for whatever tradeskill you want), with 10 slots in it, but only 4 of them are available, and you can only do basic + kunark combines in it. Each augment you add gives access to Velious, PoP, LDoN, LoY, GoD or OoW combines, and unlocks one more item slot.

To get the JC (or other tradeskill) augments, you have to do whatever quest, for example the above one.
eh
# Dec 23 2004 at 12:06 AM Rating: Decent
The thing that bugs me the most about this quest is that the Reinforced Kit does not do PoP combines.. I know the PoP kit is easy to get. However it is just a bit frustrating on bank slots. I don't have room to store 2 4 slot bags.

I think this quest should be revaluated. And possibly look at putting in the "Reinforced Planar Jewelers Kit" that would be able to do GoD and PoP combines..

Just my opinon though.. not that its worth a damn to SOE :P

So dont waste bank slots.

Convert to a token when not in use, convert back when you need it.

You can still finish this, it's like a MQ (mulit-quest). Since you already handed in 3 of the 4 correct parts, just hand in the 4th correct part. MQ's work the same way, 1 person hands in 3 correct parts (the 2 strings unstacked and a jewelers kit) and the next person hands in the no drop(turepta shell) and gets the item. Btw, your not a dumb *ss, just missing some knowledge is all.

Does this kit work as a replacement for the standard kit
# Oct 17 2004 at 6:25 AM Rating: Decent
Is this kit able to do all of the combines that could be done in the standard jeweler's kit or will it only do the GoD combines?
Worth selling these???
# Aug 27 2004 at 11:20 PM Rating: Decent
Are these jewelers kits worth selling??
RE: Worth selling these???
# Sep 13 2004 at 3:31 PM Rating: Decent
I think it's worth selling yes. The Turepta Shell is a rare drop, so not many will be sold I think. If I haven't done the quest myself, and needed the Kit, I would gladly have payed 10K for the Kit. That would save me for 20-30h downtime hunting for the shell and also if I played on occ basis, it could actually be longer...
And as you all know time IS money!

someone probably tried to do the quest before you, turning in only the turepta shell, so you got lucky and can sell one of your extra reinforced jewelers kits and just get another for yourself. Now there's just one sad player out there wondering what they did wrong for a turn in, now someone has their reinforced kit... awww. Oh well.
