Begin by hailing Elder Patriarch Ixthal. He's on the second floor of the SK/Shaman guild at loc 1052, -224.

Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'Hello to you as well. I am Elder Patriarch Ixthal and I continue training when the Prime Patriarch becomes overwhelmed with duties. I will train you if you seek to one day [become a Patriarch of Cabilis].'

You say, 'I would like to become a Patriarch of Cabilis.'

Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'I thought you might. I can sense your spirit is strong. For your first mission, you will need to use the spirits to guide you to collect some [rare items] we need on a daily basis in order to keep up with the demands of the city. This mission will also be great [training] for you.'

You say, 'What rare items?'

Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'We gather several items that we trade with the Hierophants. These items include a cracked femur, creeper cabbage, and lichenclover. Once you have all of these items, return them to me with your Claw of the Cub and you shall be rewarded.'

Now head out and collect the items he speaks of. The cracked femur is quite common, dropping off Greater Scalebones in the area. The creeper cabbage drops off the Man eating creeper, found in the Swamp of No Hope. Lichenclover can be foraged from several zones, but it may be easier to buy it from the bazaar. Then simply turn them in, along with your Claw of the Cub from the previous quest, to receive your reward.

Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'I told you not to return without a cracked femur, creeper cabbage, some lichenclover, and your Claw of the Cub.'
Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'I told you not to return without a cracked femur, creeper cabbage, some lichenclover, and your Claw of the Cub.'
Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'I told you not to return without a cracked femur, creeper cabbage, some lichenclover, and your Claw of the Cub.'
Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'You have returned unharmed with the items I asked for. Here is your reward now. If you wish to [continue training] please let me know.'
You gain experience!!

A simple task...
# Nov 16 2010 at 5:38 PM Rating: Decent
Had I known ahead of time that Prime Patriarch Ixthal would request such items, I would have been more careful earlier, when I had been hunting down the dead in the Field of Bone.

He requested these items immediately after I had been given my first claw, and the rank of Wolf Cub (level 24 Iksar Beastlord with the first claw). I did not pay much attention to the cracked femurs the dead held nor the lichenclovers I found. Still, many of the dead hold such femurs, and so it was a simple task to obtain that portion.

For the next, I searched far and wide in the Field of Bone for lichenclovers, but I spent a long time there and I could not find any. I decided to move on to looking for the special cabbage that the Prime Patriarch requested.

This proved to be a rather difficult task, much moreso than I had imagined. I searched the entire swamp with no success, until I found some ruins holding more of the long dead. I did not go near. They seemed content to guard the ruins, but I would still have liked to have put the restless Iksar souls to rest. While I did not attack the dead, I did find several man eating plants nearby. I slew many ferns and vines, but I did not come upon a creeper until I sat to consider the new spells (ooc: Levels 25 and 26 were gained here) that I had neglected to scribe until moments earlier. As I was contemplating them to the Northeast of the ruins, I was attacked by a wandering creeper! My warder made quick work of it, but I noticed that, alas, it had not developed its own cabbage. Regardless, I now knew where creepers wandered, and it was merely a matter of patience (ooc: The ruins I'm talking about are on the Eastern of the two rather large Southern islands, near the island to the West). Another wandered by with no cabbage, but the third I slew had grown a cabbage, and I returned to the Field of Bone to find the lichenclover.

This time, my search did not take long, as I stumbled upon a patch of lichenclover near the gates of Cabilis. I returned to the Prime Patriarch with the items and my Claw of the Cub to recive my promotion to Spirit Scout (ooc: Level 26 Iksar Beastlord with second claw) and my second claw.
Second Claw Quest

Finished my Claw of the Scout with about 5 hours of effort. Most of that was spent in Swamp of No Hope trying to find a Man Eating Creeper to kill. If I was doing it over again, I would level in SoNH as soon as I could solo it (no one else there in the 3 days I visited) so that the hunt was xp and quest useful.

Cracked Femur and Lichenclover were easy to get in Field of Bone and anyone levelling in the zone 10-15 would likely have acquired them (as long as they foraged).

Overall I am enjoying the quest so far and got some of the needed items for the next stage while doing the first two.

the text from the 5th claw gives the traitors name to be Lativ, if u go back to Zreezas and say 'the traitors name is lativ'

Zreezas says 'Would that be the traitor's name? Hmm. . .that name does sound familiar. He had once gained the rank of young patriarch before he was banished from the Patriarchs of Cabilis. Now where [Lativ] is I may know.'
You say, 'where is lativ'
Zreezas says 'I have heard talk of him training in a jungle region. Go seek him out and return with whatever you can retrieve from his demise.'

There are two versions of Lativ, the one in EJ which is unattackable near the zone to fob, the other is in the round building just from the EJ zone in TT. Kill the one in TT (p2700,p852), loot remains and hand them into Zreezas to continue...

After 4th claw
# Jun 02 2004 at 6:33 PM Rating: Decent
After your turn in battle plans. You get directed the the other npc Zreezas, who wants to know the name of the traitor. At the bottom of Kaseora by the church there is an indifferent con, a corrupted spiritualist. There is also one in the City of Mist in a house. Kill both and they drop the top and bottom half of Hidden Plans. Turn these into Zreezas and he gives you a note to give to the Elder Patriarch.

The Elder Patriarch then asks for a symbol from each if followers of the traitor. They are called "a loyal follower". One is in Dreadlands, Frontier Mountains, and Burningwood. Each of these are static spawns, easy with a tracker. Not sure of the timer on them. Kill them and loot a Symbol of Lativ. Turn all 3 and your claw to the Elder and he gives u the 5th claw.
5th Claw Update
# Jun 03 2004 at 5:07 PM Rating: Good
Ok. To answer my own question below, you CAN skip the part of the quest dealing with Zreezas. You can simply go collect the 3 symbols and turn them in with your claw to get the 5th claw. Here is some info I collected on the 3 "a loyal follower"s.

Zone: Frontier Mountains
Race: Sarnak
HP: Approx 2200
Location: +1024, +437
This "a loyal follower" is NW of the giant fort in FM, very close to the center of the zone. You'll find him on a large boulder. He is the easiest of the three.

Zone: The Burning Woods
Race: Sarnak
HP: Approx 3500
Location: -831, -4084
You'll find this guy about 1/3 the way up the East zone wall, almost right on the wall. He has a bit more hp than the previous follower, and you should be careful of other mobs that wander nearby this location.

Zone: The Dreadlands
Race: Iksar
HP: Approx 5000
Location: +21, +6776
This follower is over in the Secret Valley, where the wizard and druid rings are at, in the SE most corner there. He has a lot more hp than the other two, and altho I didn't get a max hit on the sarnaks this guy hits for a max of 97 double, plus a bash.

All 3 will drop a "Symbol of Lativ" which looks like a silver disc. They all ID as "symbol of Lativ", so you can't tell them apart. The followers are straight melee mobs, no spells. I think they may be warrior mobs, but I'm not sure. Once you collect all 3 symbols, turn them in along with your Young Patriarch Claw to Ixthal and he will give you your 5th claw and say the following:

Elder Patriarch Ixthal says 'Well done (Player Name), as promised here is your reward, the Claw of the Mature Patriarch. As far as the location of Lativ goes, this is a matter that needs to be dealt with by the elders of the Patriarchs. Go now, and continue your training (Player Name).'

Stats on the Claw of the Mature Patriarch are:

11/21 +3AC, +5 str/sta/cha/wis, +10 hp/mana, +1 all saves.

As you can see, once again, Ixthal gives no real clue as to where to turn next. I suspect, as 2 of the followers of Litav were sarnaks, and the 4th claw dealt with killing sarnaks, that the quest will eventually end up in Chardok.

Btw, Litav = Vital backwards. :p

I've got a question. The first part of that, where you turn in the tob and bottom of the Hidden Plans sounds like it's unnecessary, since he just has you go and get the 3 symbols anyway. Is it possible to skip the first part and go straight for the loyalists?

If anyone finds out pls let us know.
where is he??

Someone give me a clue as where to find this guy? that starts the third claw quest please.. these are getting fun!!

You can find him at the SK/shaman guild in East Cabilis, he's standing outside on the balcony on 2'nd floor in a little cubby to the left.
4'th claw
# May 28 2004 at 1:15 PM Rating: Decent
Completed 4'th claw.
Reward Young Patriarch claw
(10dmg 22delay ac1 str4 sta4 cha4 wis4 hp5 mana5 all resists +1)
Involves collecting 8 battle plans from Dalnir (drops from the sarnaks there).

Havent figured out how to trigger the 5'th quest, if there's any 5'th at all (anyone know?)

And who is this Zreezas NPC that talks about a traitor to the Patriarchs and seems to be connected to the beastlord quests somehow ?
Cant find him listed on Allakhazam at all.

how long has it taken you to gather the 8 pages? im on my 7th hour here and i only got 3, do they drop all over the zone or only the bottom floor with the forge and kly overseer?
RE: 4'th claw
# May 28 2004 at 4:18 PM Rating: Decent
15-16 hours approx.
I camped at the bottom floor (overseer).
Just hang in there, you will get them all ... in time
RE: 4'th claw
# Jun 03 2004 at 6:35 AM Rating: Decent
They fixed the drop rate of the battle plans last patch (thank god). They are dropped ONLY by kly envokers (not invokers). The envokers now drop a "Battle Plans" most of the time, but there are 8 different lore ones so you're bound to get a few duplicates. I took my 65 cleric down to the Overseer's lvl in Dalnir and AE'd most of the sarnaks down there to get my bst his battle plans. Before the patch I cleared the bottom lvl 5 times and got 1 plans. After the patch on one pull I had 4 evokers and they all 4 dropped battle plans, so that gives you an idea of how much better the drop rate is. Any envoker in Dalnir can drop them, but I found all 8 on the bottom lvl just fine.

If you identify the Battle Plans, they ID as "1st Piece", "2nd Piece", etc etc, all the way to 8th piece. That's not really helpful since they all look the same but I just thought I'd let you guys know. :p

And I'd like to know how the hell that guy up there figured out the 5th claw. o.0
Found Welgaz
# May 27 2004 at 11:22 PM Rating: Decent
Welgaz is located at n976 n1484 in the Warsilik Woods, up the east wall a bit from Cabilis. Say 'Ixthal sent me' and he asks for Legion Lager and Noodles before he will travel back.
RE: Found Welgaz
# May 28 2004 at 1:55 AM Rating: Decent
found the npc there it was an injured traveller, but he did respond to "Ixthal sent me"

after you give him the lager and noodles he gives you Welgaz's note to return to Ixthal

You return the note and your 2nd claw to get the 3rd one 22 delay 9 dmg, 3 str/cha/wis 5 hp/mana
