It is advised to get the Quest items prior to looking for Hasten in Rathe as he will despawn after a certain amount of time and getting him to spawn in the first place can take hours with bad luck.`
The Shadowed Rapier is a TEMPORARY item that drops from "a shadowed man," found in several zones. Since it's TEMPORARY, it's best to get this last. The Ring of the Ancients drops from "an ancient cyclops," found in Ocean of Tears and Southern Desert of Ro. In the Ocean of Tears, the AC spawns on the seafury cyclops island and can spawn in place of any of the seafuries. The Southern Desert of Ro AC has a much more intriciate spawn mechanic that can be found on his bestiary page. You will also need the equivalent of 3250 Gold for the turnin. (325 Platinum works). Hasten Bootstrutter is a semi-rare spawn in Rathe Mountains. He, or any of the mobs on his spawn cycle will spawn in the Northeast section of the map in the area where Hill Giants are found approximately every 6 minutes(provided they are kept down). Once any of these NPCs or Hasten spawns they will begin roaming throughout the zone where after running their route they will despawn and a new mob will spawn. If you set up camp at the little valley leading into the Hill Giant area every placeholder or Hasten will roam right past you provided they aren't killed by another player. NPCs that are PHs for Hasten listed in order of how often they pop: Spawns are at exactly 4m 45sec cycles. a drake a grizzly bear Brother Zephyl Maldyn the Unkempt You say, 'Hail, Hasten Bootstrutter' Hasten Bootstrutter says 'Stopped, I have. Greet you, I do. What business do we have? Hmm? Speak up!!' You say, 'Journeyman's boots.' Hasten Bootstrutter says 'Journeyman's boots are what you seek? Ha!! Those I have upon my feet and disintegrate will they if my life is taken. Extra pair have I, and, possibly, [rare trade] can we make.' You say, 'What rare trade?' Hasten Bootstrutter says 'Three things I call for and journeyman boots are yours. A [shadowed rapier], [ring of the ancients] and gold... 3250 gold coins I call for !! This trade I call.' You say, 'What shadowed rapier?' Hasten Bootstrutter says 'Shadowed men, foes to all, have appeared. Many lands do they walk. Invisible are they, but for the items they wield. Seek them out and return to me a shadowed rapier. Return it with haste before 'poof' goes the rapier!! No time to camp have you.' You say, 'What ring of the ancients?' Hasten Bootstrutter says 'Ancient cyclopes [sic] do march the land. Long have they lived and crafted the rings of the ancients. I must have one and you shall go and fetch one for me. Seek the lands of the oldest cyclops clans. Seek the plains, seek the island in tears and search the dunes for there is one who is last. His clan was blown from the sands.' Give Hasten the Shadowed Rapier, the Ring of the Ancients, and 3250 gold (or 325 platinum) Hasten Bootstrutter says 'The time to trade has come!! I am now rich and you are now fast. just tried multiquesting the jboots friend had ring, i had the 3250gp and the rapier. Friend handed in the ring, I handed in the gold and rapier. He took my gold and rapier and then ring went back to my friend. I guess they stopped people from multiquesting the jboots. I dunno we are goona try again tommorow, but i doubt it will work.

Hi, im Nenbenu, lvl 54 heretic on the Solusek ro Server. i camped the AC in OOT for 8 hours tonight, 3 ac's poped... 1 ring went to a friend, and for some odd, and REALLY sick reason, the 2nd didnt have a ring on him, then on the 3rd he dorpped the ring again, the OOT spawn is a steady 6 minute spawn, id seriously recomend camping this one, rather than.. like i did spending over 36 hours in Sro just to get some when you have had 3 get stolen by ice comets from 1/2 way across the zone

I had been camping the ac with my guildmates for the last 2 months both in SK as well as OOT. Finally i made up my mind that i would stick to the OOT camp simply for the reason that it seemed less confusing than having to kill everything in sight in SK to get him to pop. well the day finally came that he spawned for our guild. the initial purpose for the camp was to get the boots for me b/c most of the other members had them as it was. well we finally after 16 hours of camping get the ring. At this point most people think the quest is over. I was new to the quest and knew little about multiquesting it, therefor i did as you do in most quests, you give the npc all the items. i was holding the 3250gp and the rapier and my druid guildmate was holding the ring. well you can guess what got screwed up. i gave Bootstrutter my items first and my guildmate ended up getting the boots sigh. happy ending though, oor guild decided to camp the oot ac until the freak finally spawned after 2 days of straight camping got my boots and they are awesome!!!!!! hang in there guys, patience is the key.

FORCING AC TO SPAWN
There must be a Drybone Skeleton in the sunken tower in SRO. At 8pm game time kill the Drybone skeleton. The Ancient Cyclops should spawn between 3AM-5AM game time. He usually spawns on the side of the zone where the Derv camp is.
I posted yesterday about getting my friend his pair and finishing the enitre quest under 2 hours, and how everytime i have tried this method it worked.

this does work most of the time. Though the only thing he didnt mention was to not kill any undead unless they aggro u. Also make sure the AC doesnt get to the dark elf vendors.

Been camping it 3 times in one week now for myself and 2 friends. We chose the OOT camp to try to avoid the KS'ing in Sroo.
1st camp; 34 hours. Yikes!
2nd camp; 4 hours. Not too bad
3rd camp 11 hours, 40 min, alot of DvD's to keep me company =)
And just as I got ready to logg (still bound at camp) the AC popped again but was camped =(
I recomend the OOT camp, might take forever but at least you wont be KS'ed by an Ice Comet flashing in from half the zone away ;)

Ok i know this was pure luck but me, 31 monk, and a friend, 52 druid, came to SRo to get my jboots. We both started running around killing everything in the zone. Within 30min the AC was up. Sorry to all you guys that have camped the AC for hours on end. I guess I am just one lucky monk.

This message is for all those people who camped the AC for literally hundreds of hours in SRO and have nothing to show for it due to Ksing or simply growing tired of waiting for the AC pop. All i can say is hang in there.....if you feel you want to leave the camp....stay twenty more minutes. I cant tell you how many times i was camping the AC in SRO with a friend (who was trying to get the ring) and he called it quits and logged for the night. Sure as death and taxes the AC spawns and someone else takes the glory of the killing. I admit the same thing almost happened to me. It was about 3am and i have been camping the AC in SRO for about 10 hours. Earlier in the day there were roughly fifteen people camping the AC and by 3am it was down to two people, me and a slightly higher level DE necro. I was so exhausted that i decided to ***** it and log for the night. I sat down and started to camp and when the camp timer was on 10 seconds who should spawn right in front of me but the damn AC. I jumped up like i was sitting on dynamite and engaged him. I pounded on him and he started running like a virgin on prom night. After i finally killed him i got my ring and shouted with glee. Hang in there all of you ring seekers....and stay a little while longer, you never know what will pop right in your lap.

I just read a bunch of "i think" and "SRo", well all i know is there is massive KSing when it comes to the AC on our server. so here how we (2-3)of use approached the problem, with a moral at the end of this text.
How we got a total of 5 rings in 30 Hours of camp time, when compared to the Fishbone from Hadden (3 days) that was quick.
First wenn we arrived in OoT the AC was camped (like really, when is he not camped) there was a WAITING LIST which in my option is the way to go. You will find that the people camping WILL put u down on the list and if you are on they will tell you. we arnt talking about lvl30s that want everything for free or dont even know what it means to camp, all were at least lvl49. Even had a visting lvl56 Monk that showed us what kind of damage a monk can do.. wow was I impressed by the 300dmg a hit. anyway like I said two others were in front of us, my guild member was 4 and i was 5. over time the list grew to 8. Most would come in shout but never take a number. If u knew that in 2 days Realtime u could get the camp.. wouldnt u do it?
anyway we didnt leave. we helped the others on this boring camp, did a lot of fishing (skill from 15 to 100 in 7 hours). made a lot of spawn jokes, did chants and dances, and generally had fun.
After the first ring poped we asked how long. the answer was "Oh about 10 Hours", hmm.. well its a camp so i bought a snickers because i new it would take long. the second and 3rd rings dropped pretty evenly apart at about 5 hours each.
so as u will notice we are already on for 12 hours and it was getting late. so one would go afk and sleep for 4 hours.. wake up and let the other go afk. the camp was easy to hold with 2 chars.
however now we were up. 2 rings to go, and 4 others waiting after us. except for the people just passing though, a lvl53 and lvl51 Paladin held the camp without a problem.
from what we had seen we were expecting another 12 hours for the spawn of both rings. After 10 hours an AC spawned. of course my guildmate that has been on for 30 hours was number 4. we never came to the idea to leave, just pushed forward.
so we called the guild to get a replacement for my dead in RL guildmate to help me wait. he did the boat thing. finally got there, did the hellos, and 20 minutes after the 4 ring popped came the next AC. I couldnt believe it. and I got my ring.
After running though the list we found that only one was on (and he was number 5), to whom we passed the camp and the list over to.
so whats different? ITS A CAMP PEOPLE.. Think about why that word CAMP is used. plan to spend some time there. Have fun doing it. and be patient. Dont try to rush it and u will eventually get what u are looking for.

Ok, so I was grinding in Velketor's Labyrrinth, dinged 49, got a yellow in and decided that I would go try my hand at the AC since I was getting bored. Get a port out of Thurgadin for 50pp, and get a 40 druid friend of mine to come and help. There were 9 others camping him as well, druid stayed for an hour then I got a level 60 druid guildmate to come and help. Anyway, I killed every living thing in the zone for an hour and a half (from orcs to SGs). Everyone but me had quit already and me and Kinare had just dropped an SG, she says "AC AC AC AC AC", I say "WHERE" she says "Follow me" I do, 5 seconds later the dudes dead and I got my ring of the ancients, camped HGs for a few hours for cash (just spent all my cash on velium jewelry). Tomorrow I get to find that dang hasten chump and get my boots =P.

Did the entire quest from beginning to end in about 4 hours with a lvl 49 ranger friend of mine to track and a lvl 60 SK was helpin us too. We went into Sro and killed everything, didnt loot any corpses and in about 2 hours the AC popped, killed him got the ring! yay...i just feel bad for the 2 groups of lvl 55 + that were camping it and left just before he popped. I was lvl 39 wiz on fennin ro server. I highly advise u get it if u can, it is tha bomb! =)

Got my ring tonight, camped for 15 hours on and off. Believe the trick to spawn in Ro is the spiders. Kill em and anything else in between but be sure to take the spiders right away. The undead in the sunken tower at 9pm is BS as i killed it alot later than that. Good luck and dont give up its out there =o)

i dont like this camp.. i want the boots bad but hate this.. i tried at 40 for hell and ever in sro and even when he did spawn i was outnumbered to try and get him.... i am at 44 now.. should i try sro and get it there or try oot.. in a group maybe... i need this boots... i solo too much... anyone can help please...

You should take your own advice 325 PP does work I've done it twice with PP.

Ok, i know all about multiquesting, but i don't understand one thing. when you get to hasten, who gives their item first? the person with the ac ring or the other person with rapier and money?
Whoever hands in stuff last gets the item. So therefore the ring needs to be given first, then the person who you want to have the boots gives the rapier and pp.
Like the other poor chap below..can we dispense with the Me Me Me stories...and post information?

Heh, yeah... just my luck - port to S Ro as a 38 r00d, and there is AC and no one in zone near high enuf to take it, so i do. 5 min and out with ring, and my dumbass says to the 17 shammy orge "pffttt loot it, i got sow, what do i need J-boots for." the next day i hear i can multi quest it for 5 to 8K (DOH!) Havent seen it since. :(

Does anyone know if there are faction issues with Bootstrutter? I am a Troll, I would hate to go through the trouble to do the quest, then find out it was all for nothing.
My best friend gott em-and YES i am jelious. Where am i gonna find that money???? I JUST SPENT IT ALL!!!
