You say, 'Hail, Naea Fobbins'

Naea Fobbins says 'Why hello there. Just arrived? My name is Naea Fobbins. My husband and I recently joined the Wayfarers Brotherhood. When we heard that they were sailing for lands unknown we just had to go. Truth be told, I do miss home though. I had quite a lucrative business in Rivervale making [necklaces].'

You say, 'What necklaces?'

Naea Fobbins says 'I made all kinds! Some were magical in nature and some just beautiful to look at. That reminds me. My husband recently brought some shells from the shores of Natimbi. They were quite wonderful and I was able to make a nice necklace from them. If you could bring me some shells from Natimbi, I can try to make you one as well. I have nothing else to do at the moment. Are you [interested]?'

You say, 'I am interested.'

Naea Fobbins says 'Okay, great! I will need three Broken Shore shells, and one set of Reef Crustacean Glands to make a necklace for you. The glands are needed because they secrete a kind of sealant to protect the delicate shells. You should be able to find all the items in Natimbi. Hand them to me once you find them.'

Broken Shore Shells are foraged in Natimbi. Reef Crustacean Glands drop from A Reef Crustacean. Give the items to Naea.

Naea Fobbins says 'Oh, you have returned. And you brought all the items I asked for! As promised I will make you a necklace.' Naea begins to carefully thread the shells and adds the secretion from the gland. 'This should do nicely. Here you go! It was a pleasure making it for you. Take care!'

Just finished the quest today. Even now this necklace is pretty sweet. Took like 3 days of soloing the reef crustaceans and foraging. Well worth the time.

Just MQ'd this to my 14 enchanter, so minimum lvl =< 14.

I ran him through jaggedpine to nedarias, and amusingly enough, even though he can't benefit from the farstone magic at the other camps, the maguses (magusi? wtf is the plural for that, anyway???) in nedaria's, abysmal, and natimbi will all help him out. So i camped him in natimbi, took my main (56 ranger) out there and killed stuff until the gland dropped, logged, logged in my alt lvl 14 enc, looted gland.

ranger turned in three shells, logged, logged in enc, turned in gland, boom. necklace. too easy. =)

Spent many hours game time foraging and hunting in Natmbi, and saw two shells early on, backin march or so. Nothing since. After foraging hundreds of pounds of hynid and cragbeast meat, going from about 200 to 242 baking, I finally got my third shell. The forage table in Natimbi must have this as extremely rare. I forage dragon eggs in WW and yew leaves in WL at a much higher rate.

If you spent several hours a day, every day, in natimbi, you could get like one shell in a week, no shells in a week, or like 9 shells in a week.

Its not so much that this is so rare, just that natimbi has a HUGE forage table. there's just tons of stuff to get there.

I now have one neckalce on, and the parts to make 3 more. ON FV server, the shells and the neckalces are no ND. Shells sell for about 250 pp, while i haven't made a necklace for sale

Another fine example of SoE's code and proof checking system. I bet this quest was thoroughly checked on the test server before being implemented into prod...NOT... It is MQ'able but what a pain. Someone KICK SoE in the cojones please, maybe that will bring them out of this dream world they have retreated to, the one where all the customers are happy and code doesn't have errors, and we all just can't get enough of SoE's inventive and gripping quests...Downtime is getting greater, patches longer and foul-ups following patch day worse, all the while Sony claims the exact opposite, but I've got aggregate uptime numbers for almost 4 years now, and the figures can be skewed, but they don't LIE, like some Customer Rep's and SoE Management...and YES CHADH I AM TALKING TO YOU.

FV is the easiest server out there, hands down. Friend of mine created a lvl 1 warrior and within a week he had almost full ornate, split blade of destruction, obsidian scimitar..

Nothing is sacred on FV. When i run by someone on my server and see a NODROP weapon in their hands, i know they earned it... when i see it on FV i think "bought"

You get the Reef Crustacean gland.

Then you find a forager like me, and I turn in shells, then you turn in gland. You get necklace!

I'm foraging shells right now on the Tribunal Server so look me up if you get a gland, maybe I'll have three shells by then (big forage table, hard to get shells)

Finished solo as a 55 ranger. All done safely in camp pulling the two reef crustaceans that spawn "below" the dock, 2 glands out of say 20 kills, took about 2 hours for first drop.

foraging was a pain, no shells first night in 4 hours of killing and foraging, 2 the next nite in 2 hours, third was on third night after an hour and half. However, with horrible charisma still made about 400 plat selling all other forages

Nice piece, not bad, 7 hours total, decent exp.

Well after finishing this quest twice, I have been unable to forage anymore shells <some friends wanted me to MQ em> So I am thinking that there could be a maximum amount that can be foraged by each person. The rate which they are foraged definitely decreases after you do first turn in. Curious if anybody else has noticed this as well.

assuming you have a druid/ranger friend, you can get this necklace just fine... just go and kill a crustacean and have your friend MQ the 3 shells and then turn in your gland.

Of course judging by your post you don't have a whole lot of friends... but for the rest of us, we can get this necklace fairly easily. Poor druids... everyone's gonna be bugging them to get some shells heh.

No it's an iksar quest, since they are the only race that has standard forage.

[lamer mode off]

since it can be be MQ-ed and it's all/all i's a quest for anyone even if you might need to ask help from some friends. But basically if the quest reward is worthwhile you need help from friends anyway, by the time you can solo those quests you could consider the rewards out of date. (offcourse there are exceptions).

Druid only? Druids aren't the only ones that forage. Can't get this on my monk either (I'm human) but it's nice that iksar monks can use...

Usually when a quest involves no drop items that are foraged, they are also ground spawn. I'll let you know if I find any, and where they were located if I do.

Shells are foraged at a rate of about 1 every hour and a half (200 foraging skill).

Glands drop off of "A Reef Crustacean" which cons from green to dark blue to a 65, mostly light blue, but a serious undercon.

Thanks much I found her! :) I have done this quest twice now the first time it took me about 3.5 hours to forage the three shells. I decided to try MQing the necklace for my beastlord so I spent another 12-14 hours foraging three more shells. (the last shell took 10 hours easy) I am happy to report that this necklace can be MQed and my beastlord is now the proud owner of it. I think that this is a great quest for the required lvl and is fairly easy. However, due to the rarity of the foraged item expect it to take some time to collect the shells. I found the most shells while sitting invis underwater near the shore by camp. Anyhow good luck to all that are working on this one :)

Also, it can probably be MQ'd, so the forager turns in the shells and then the person wanting the necklace turns in the gland...
