You say, 'Hail, Captain Koldar'

Captain Koldar says 'Stand back hunter! Not all of my men are properly trained in the use of their spears. You may find yourself losing an eye if you get too close. Now then, I assume you have [come to help.] Is that correct?'

You say, 'I have come to help.'

Captain Koldar says 'Then why are you standing around! Can't you see the invading forces of the Shak Dratha approach our town? Destroy them and bring me four of their bloody hearts as proof of your deed. Snap to it!'

The Bloody Shak Dratha Heart only seems to drop off of a shak dratha assassin. Collect four of them.

Captain Koldar says 'Blasted! Took you long enough. Look! They've already brought in more troops. We have a city to protect here. Now patch yourself up and get back to it.' Koldar hands _____ a handful of bandages.'

You gain experience!!

The amount of Bandages you get seems to be random, as I received 8 of them at my turn in, while others reported receiving 6.

Starting out

I'm one of those players that Nosferatu mentions, long-time player starting out on a new server.
I currently have a 16th level Shar Vahl BST. To say that I'm untwinked is an understatement. Only thing my kitty has that is purchased are shuriken. (I make my own darts from the progressive fletching quest but can't keep supply up with my usage.)
All my other gear is quested from Shar Vahl and Shadeweavers.
A single bandage goes for 8sp and some change for my CHA 65 kitty. To get six for free while I'm wandering about the zone questing and/or killing wandering Shak Dratha is a nice bonus.
Like SythRavenhawk mentioned, the Shak Dratha also drop other things of interest. Shade Silk (usually three at a time when at all), Chunk of Condensed Shadow (I've gotten 3 at a time from them sometimes), and the No Rent Xakra Kel armor pieces. Not to mention a few coins.
All in all, great loot for the lowbies they are meant for.
Worth the reward?

They should give you a whole stack of bandages instead of only 6 then. As I never grew up in SWT I don't know how common the hearts are, but six feels to me a little low of a reward. I may be mistaken though.

It's quests like this that make you say, WHAT THE HELL!

And why does it make you say that? It's a perfectly good quest. Not everyone is a twink...there are new subscribers every day.

Or, for that matter, long time players starting out fresh on a new server. This is a great way to get free bandages, as the Shak Dratha are great target for newbie Vah Shir. Hell, SWT is one of the best newbie zones I've found in a long time. Beats the hell out of Tox Forest (ok, what doesn't :)).

Bandages are like a plat a stack... I don't care what level or how new you are, that is cheaper to buy them, then doing a quest like this.

So collecting items that drop while you exp to do this quest which nets you exp and bandaids is > 2 gold?

The hearts sell to a merchant for just under 5 silver btw.

Why even bother? Nowadays, you can get 4pp goblin heads, goblin blood, and pristine skunk claws, which are all VERY common drops in ButcherBlock. I'm guessing it would cost 1gp per bandage.. 3sp or so to sell? I mean, if you're hunting THOSE mobs only.. But it's not really worth it to go out of your way for it.

umm actually after one of the patches they nerfed the AG "phat loot" spot. So haha to all you people who think youll be gettin 4pp a drop at lvl 12.(sorry im ussually not this mean but people who bash a quest thats like this, i mean come on you dont have to do anything outragous, while your gettin some exp you get some bandages as well. If you had to camp a rare spawn or sumthing like that it would different.)

That's great. Glad you know so much about the game. Here's a few tips for the simple-minded:

1) Not everyone playing this game knows about all the 'phat lewt' spots, especially newer players.

2) Those same 'phat lewt' spots are generally camped to the gills, which puts those spots on the 'not worth it' lists for many players.

3) Some people want to actually 'PLAY THE GAME' and not just fly thru it in an all-out race to 65 w/ oodles of AA.

To each their own, but I remember a long time back when I first started playing that bandaids cost a fortune. And your pricing is slightly off, or at the least adjusted for twinkie charisma items. Merchant prices on bandages are between 5sp and 1gp EACH. That's factors out to 1-2 pp per stack. To a true newbie, level 1-12 or so, that is alot of money. And don't even pretend to tell me a non-twinked newbie can take the BB Aqua-goblin camps, which con dark blue to lvl 17 in some cases.

This is a 'decent' quest for low-levels, as you build faction, get something for very little, and get good xp from the Drathas. not to mention they drop alot of other stuff which one can sell for money.
