Speak to Lynuga, a wandering troll in Innothule Swamp (usually found near the entrance to Guk).
You say, 'Hail, Lynuga' Lynuga says 'Hrrump?! Who you? _____? What you want with Lynuga? Me am out [collecting]. Leave me be!' You say, 'Collecting what?' Lynuga says 'I collect all sorts of things. Gems be my favorite. Me really like rubies. If you have ruby, give to me! Why you want to know? You want to steal my collection?!?! I squish you if you do!!' You can buy a Ruby from most jewelry vendors for about 131pp. Upon giving her a Ruby: Lynuga says 'Mmm. Ruby!! Me thanks you! Here take this, me got it off dead someone who try take my collection. Me thinks this valuable thing..' Your faction standing with Broken Skull Clan got better. Your faction standing with Shadowknights of Night Keep got worse. Your faction standing with DaBashers got worse. You receive a random item: Brutechopper Ivandyr's Hoop Midnight Mallet The Hoop is the rarest of the rewards. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Got The Mallet on first turn-in.

She spawned twice within 3 days.
Both times a little north of the PoK book. Near the water. She will not attack any other npc that I saw.
This latest time, she was KoS to my Gnome Necro, so I hopped on a troll lowbie to turn in rubies.
Out of 40 rubies, she gave the Hoop 5 times.
She seems to despawn after a few hours.

I'm guessing she's either got a PH or she only spawns for a few game hours at a time or something as she's not been up when I check on her (granted, I just sweep through the zone with a tracker and head out).

Anyone confirm spawn after 07/25/07 ....revamp cool but have been running around trying to find Lynuga.... no luck.... please confrim if you run into here in zone...and location.

Lynuga does indeed still wander Innothule swamp, my pally killed her night before last. She can most often be found between the entrance to Lower Guk and the PoK book, in that area. She is not *always* up, and I have no idea what is her placeholder but she is still in game. Frog SHM, HIE CLR and ELF DRU are KoS to her so it's impossible to talk to her. She still drops the large ruby though. FYI

I was running thru the swamp, one day, in the middle of the month of May. When all of a sudden this troll argo's me. I'm a 49 ranger and I've never heard of this Lynuga or any quest related to her, so I definately wasn't there to hunt for her. Well, I ended up killing the bit...uhmm...(what's the feminine of troll?)...trollette.
She dropped a ruby. A lore item ruby, but a ruby. Wondering what it was for, I came here to see what you guys had on her. She collects rubies? I wonder if she will take the ruby I took off her cold corpse? I figure I can sneak behind her and find out.

yep, it still works! i got my 24 enchanter to Illusion: Troll and gave her the ruby. Unfortunaetly, at 183 charisma i still paid 131pp for the ruby and got the Midnight Mallet in return (which values at about 84pp, if that). Then a 65 level came along and killed her while i was getting a ruby from someone else! the troll is only about a level 35, so i have no idea why he did that. i spent the rest of the evening waiting for her to spawn again with no luck! hopefully, when she does, i can get the I-hoop! Good hunting!

she attacked my lvl 10 froggy yesterday.. friend in the zone killed her and she dropped a ruby..

Hey all. Last night, on quellious, strolling around in my new shiny froglok shammy (level 5). I ran into 1 of those old stone hands, right? rising out of inny swamp? well, on top of the hand is a named frog, forget name, but when hailed she said something to the effect of: "You are to young to help me right now." Now, lyugna didn't give you her quest till you were lvl 10, right? so this guy in the swamp might be the "new, improved" Lyugna. BTW, she was up last night on 3/3/03 on quellious. PST to Nendaen, nendae, nendean, nilien, or gyakutenno if you are on and have tried this (they're all mine). Wanna see if it works.

The Froglok you found in the hand in the swamp is for a later quest where you need to have 3 different weapon stats at least to lvl 75. I am sorry but i can not recall the quest name but it's here in the quest section. The two npc are entirely different quests.

She was up in Innothule the night before last ... someone had trained her to the Gukta zoneline on Ayonae Ro, where she had all of our newbie frogs trapped, heh.
I've been looking for here all day today, though, with no luck. I don't know if it's just bad luck that she's not been up, or if they moved her after the emergency patch yesterday. =\

Hi i wanted to do the quest and get the Hoop for my cleric level 20. Will Lynuga talk to anyone? or if i go with a high elf cleric will she just tell me to hit the road?

Just noticed in posts below that dark elf necros seem to have had the best luck, 1 guy handed in 1 ruby and got it.. I handed in 2 rubies and got it.. hmm. Bah, just a thought.

Just an addition to my last post.. the opal encrusted stien gave me a grand total of... 75 charisma. Im a Dark Elf Necromancer and if charisma has anything to do with maybe it must be between 70 and 100?? Bah, just a thought.

This is still dropping. I had 2 rubies and saw this gal. Gave her the 1st one and got the axe. Gave her the 2nd and got the Hoop! I had an opal encrusted stien equipt to help charisma but really dont know that it did anything. This is the first time ive done this so Im guessing its just totally random. Sorry all those who have used hundreds of rubies :( I just got lucky.

Did this today. 11 rubies= 1 ivandyrs hoop. Had a cha of 110 when i bought em and they cost me 131p apiece. If the previous poster did indeed use 15 stacks of rubies than he did spend well over 35k trying to get one. What a waste.

as of the June 6 patch, this item was nerfed. It not longer drops, or has been put to a rate that is insane. I went there, and spent over 15 stacks of rubies for one of these. I wanted that effect to save my life, but found, i emptied my bank account. I got friends to try it, people will ally faction, everything. IMO the item has stopped dropping.. and it was such a nice item.

300 rubies is NOT 35k... much much cheaper, but nonetheless still very expensive... I too, used over 275 rubies doing this quest... on Rallos Zek that is. According to the GM, they only nerfed it for this server. So if you are on a bluebie server, or one of the other Zek's, knock your socks off and dont expect to use more than 2 or 3k
Umm... Actually the other poster was correct and you are the one that is mistaken. Unless my mind and my calculator are both broken 130ppx300 = 39Kpp and 130 is actually LESS than best merchant prices.

Maybe this is a stupid question but it is worth the asking. Does anybody know if it is possible to take my level 41 druid to her in wolf form and not be KOS? I have not tried but wondered if anybody else has? Thank you..

I gave her 13 rubies and got 4 hoops... I gave her 4 at first and got the booby prizes. Then a friendly nec told me to raise my charisma.. He loaned me some charisma gear and for the next 9 I gave her I got 4 hoops. I had to keep taking breaks though to pass the items off.. Word to the wise.. bring a friend.. For the Necs help I gave him one of the earrings. I had 17 rubies with me but couldn't unload anymore earrings so I stopped. My charisma was 138.. Good Luck.. Am going back to see if it was a fluke...

This last post gave me an idea for you chanters and other charming individuals of Norrath. Charm her and turn in the gems. If I'm not mistaken charming maxes your reaction to her. I'll give it a shot if I run into her.

Good idea and charming does get you to Amiable with your pet (like all pets) and indifferent to everyone else. The enchanter epic also employs charming hostile creatures so you can get quests from them. For agnostic enchanters or evil enchanter you can likely get enough faction by using illusions and faction adjusting spells. For those Tunare chanters out there charm might just be the trick you need.

Well I seem to have had wonderful luck on getting this, but i won't rub it in. anyway faction adjustments as follows:

i just did the quest yesterday !!!
a high lvl shammy came to me and asked me to hand in 10 ruby's he had to her .
i got the loop in the 9'th try i acidently forgot about the weaps being lore so we only got 4 weaps out of her but what the heck ! it wasn't my money !!
i made 120pp (60pp per weap) and some nice buffs that got me from lvl 5 that i was at when he came to and and to lvl 7 i think .
there is no lvl require ment on this quest i am sure !!! she told me after i had handed in the rest of the quest story so you dont have to talk to her or to be lvl 10 to do it lvl 5 noobi is fine

20th gem my butt! I just gave that flipping troll 43 rubies. All I got was junk weapons. Then to top it all off she disapeared before I could give her any more. 6kpp down the hole.
