Sirran the Lunatic is the little chap who will hand you keys to progress from isle to isle in Plane of Sky.

Some rules:

1) He will assist any MOB still living so make sure you always kill Sirran's spawning MOB last.

2) He pops on (or very close to) the kill location of each island's boss MOB.

3) Won't attack unless you start chatting with him. Just hailing him is safe.

4) Despawns in 20 mins.

On the first island (Key Master/Thunder Spirits Island), he spawns once "a Thunder Spirit Princess" dies. Hand him one Miniature Sword to get the Key of Swords (to the second island, Noble Dojorn Island, which is a one-way trip). Hand him one Lost Rabbit Foot to get the Key of the Misplaced (to Azarack Island).

On the third island (Azarack Island), he spawns once the "Protector of Sky" dies. Hand him one Broken Mirror to get the Key of Misfortune (to Gorgalask Island).

On the fourth island (Gorgalosk Island), he spawns once "Gorgalosk" dies. Hand him one Animal Figurine to get the Key of Beasts (to Harvester Island).

On the fifth island (Harvester Island), he spawns once the "Keeper of Souls" dies. Hand him one Bird Whistle to get the Avian Key (to Spiroc Island).

On the sixth island (Spiroc Island), he spawns once the "Spiroc Lord" dies. Hand him one Noise Maker to get the Key of the Swarm (to Wasp Island).

On the seventh islamd (Wasp Island), he spawns once the "Bazzt Zzzt" dies. Hand him one Dull Dragon Scale to get the Key of Scale (to Drake Island). Telling him the phrase "Am I one with the wall" will make The Sister of the Spire spawn on Drake Island.

On the eighth island (Drake Island), he spawns once the "Sister of the Spire" dies. Hand him one Replica of the Wyrm Queen to get Veeshan's Key (to the ninth and final island, Butterfly Island).

In addition, the Veeshan's Key that used to get you into the quest room has been renamed to the Efreeti's Key. It is also added to the key ring. Sirran will also no longer assist PoSky mobs.

Went to Plane of Sky for my Shaman 1.5 epic. I am level 88 and had a J5 tank merc with me. This was the first time I have been here so I was a bit of a beginner in regards to the zone.

The main part I missed was not to kill the boss key mob until all the other mobs are dead. Big misstake Sirran spawns and starts helping the other mobs attacking me and my merc. At lvl 88 he is just an annoyance but my merc tank gets ****** and starts killing him fast. First happened on the third island (Azarack Island), i decided to gate out, gate doesn't work in PoS so only way to drop aggro is to jump off and zo to east freeport. No biggie, once in the water gate back to PoK run back to guild hall and port back to PoS. Sirran has calmed down but while handing in the items to get the next key an azarack, that was still alive, aggros and the same thing happens again. Jump off and port back again, this time I managed to get the key to the fourth island.

On the fourth island all **** breaks lose. I get porten in to a building and starts killing the mob just outside. This aggros many mobs including the boss Gorgalosk, no problem we kill her and a bunch of other, now Sirran spawns beside us and starts aggroing, what I thought was the remaining mobs we are killing, my merc starts hitting back and has almost killed Sirran, while I am trying to get him to stop SIrran is dead. Bah I have read nightmare stories about getting a faction hit with the denizens of the sky that is a faction you cannot repair without GM intervention. Bleh that sucks.Anyway SIrran is dead no way to spawn him for another 12+ hours, I camp on the island to see if everyone hates my next day or not (due to the faction hit).

Next day I have read up some more about PoS and of course notice the section of Sirran helping any mobs that you are fighting. I logg in and I am happy to see that the mobs are still indiff to me so there is hope maybe Sirran will also. This time I am careful, I pull and kill all the mobs far away from the house where the boss is. I still manage to aggro Gorgalosk while pulling the guards outside. This time I carefully kill all the others before I kill Gorgalosk, success. But no Sirran!? Hmm what is going on? I look around the island and see Sirran standing beside the building, he is still indifferent to me! Happiness! hand in the quest item get the next key to island five which is my main goal.

On island five I find the Eternal Spirit roaming around, hand in my quest item and get an amulet back for my Shaman epic quest.

Since I had come so far and was getting warm to PoS despite its quirks I was thinking I should probably get the next key also. Can be handy to have the keys to all the Island since they are permanent and you might need to help someone with another epic in the future. I also have a necro alt and reads that the key mob on island mobs has a drop for the necro 1.0 epic. So I camp and bring my nerco the next day. Help her get the keys to island four. Start killing off the horsies and flying lions. They are social and split into new mobs after they die. No problem at level 88 and with a J5 tank merc they die fast. Now the shaman epic 1.5 quest mon Eternal Spirit decides to join the fray, bleh I don't want to kill the epic quest mob. I jump off to drop aggro and port back. Finish off killing the rest of the mobs except the Eternal Spirit. Reads that the key boss mob Keeper of Souls spawns about 60-80 min after you have killed the first mob and somewhere on the middle of the island. SInce I have low cash I decide to suspend my merc and wait. Plenty of time to prepare when the boss spawn. I wait on a hill near the middle of the island, browse the bazaar for any new Rk.II shaman spells that has come on to the market. And BAM! suddenly my necro is dead! Deathtouch 80K damage. I scramble fires off some DoT and nukes but don't managed to do 32K damage in 45 seconds has passed and I get hit by next DT 80K I am dead. Not good seems like the boss is aggressive and not indifferent from the start like the other mobs was on the island, probably angry you killed all the horsies on the island.

I spawn back to bind, run to GH and port back to PoS with my Shaman, invis up, get back to fifth island and drag the corpses away from the Keeper of Souls, rezz back and buff. What to do? There is no way to avoid at least one death so the obvious choice is the necro, since is lvl 65 and doesn't do too much damage and can be rezzed by the Shaman afterwards. So I invis us all and stand beside the boss, necro tells her skellie pet to attack and she starts casting her strongest nuke, BAM she is dead before getting the DoT off, not a good start. The J5 tank merc is ****** and starts attacking the boss with wolfie helping out. I start unloading fast DoTs and nukes, in barely 45 sec boss dies and I am still alive. What a relief, rezzing necro wishing she will be lucky with the drop, seems to be a 50% chance the cloak will drop, nothing, two crappy ranger cloaks dropped. Well I will have to come back another day, have a new key to the next aviak island to use when bored with the daily XP grind to lvl 100.

Good work J5 merc I am proud of you.

I can't get Sirren to pop on the 5th Island - have tried killing all mobs, killing Gale last, etc - any suggestions?

Having the same problem. Killed all that was up; no Sirran to be found.

The mob that gets Sirran to spawn on the 5th island is Keeper of Souls. If you look at that mobs page:

Spawn mechanism: Spawns 60-85 minutes after the death of any griffon or pegasus on the island.

Normally, I have to clear the island & afk for an hour or so.

...don't have the timer for each Island down - but I know that Isles 1-3(Gorg) are under 8 hours and Isle 4(Peg / Griff)Respawn time for mobs is EXACTLY 12 hours. I timed it. The other day - we were not able to Respawn nottap Ekim by killing one Griff after we killed KoS - we will try this trick again another time to see if we get different Results...

The best way to kill these guys (I soloed with no problem @ 80, pet did the work) on Island 3 (to get to 4) is to just kill everything around the temple outside, avoid mobs up on the temple walls, then use the pet hold command and park your pet out in front of the door, towards the teleport area, go converse with the boss mob inside the temple, and once they attack drag em to your pet, shift aggro to other mobs until boss is all thats left.

It is a 7-8 hour respawn time on island 3, confirmed.

Doing the Shaman Epic 1.5, got to island 2, killed boss, then sirran popped, unfortunately still had one mob up so he attacked me, couldnt do turn in for key to next island.

So now everything is dead on island and waiting for everything to repop so i can continue epic. What is the repop time for this?

If the group dies before doing item turn in for next island key and not getting group rezzed in time that sirran despawns, how long do we need to wait before we can try the hit again?

need to know the respawn time for the island boss mobs in order to spawn "Sirran the Lunatic" in case of group wipe...

meaning that a re-kill of all mobs are needed again including the last mob being the islands boss mob...

all this in order to respawn Sirran to do item turn ins seems stupid in the extreme...

"Sirran the Lunatic" despawn timer of 20 minutes has posed problems before and really needs to be addressed... this zone is so hated for this reason...

A couple of corrections:

1) There are two items in the game with the name "Veeshan's Key", and while there are two "Veeshan's Key" in the Alla database, they are not quite correct*. The first version is the one listed here, which is sold for 1cp by the Keymaster and takes you from the first island down into the quest room. It identifies as "Key of Misfortune"**. The second one, also called "Veeshan's Key" and having the EXACT same icon as the first "Veeshan's Key" is given by Sirran the Lunatic to you on Drake/Sphinx/Sister island in exchange for "Replica of the Wyrm Queen", and is the key to take you to the last island in Sky ("Veeshan" or "Butterfly" island). This second version of "Veeshan's Key" identifies as "Veeshan's Key". Without trying the two keys on a telepad, the only way to tell them apart is through the use of the Identify spell.

2) This isn't true: "Won't attack unless you start chatting with him". Sirran is perfectly pleasant and if he ever *was* touchy, that is gone. He'll chat with you all you like and you can't get him to attack just by talking to him. You have to either attack him or have left an aggressive mob alive for him to assist.

3) This is no longer true: "Noble Dojorn Island, which is a one-way trip". Around 2003 the coders installed a telepad on Noble Dojorn Island, allowing access to Azarack island. As such, I've taken to calling this island #1.5, since it's a detour more than anything else, and falls between (what I call) island 1 and 2 (thunder spirits and azaracks)

4) This isn't quite right: "Telling him the phrase "Am I one with the wall" will make The Sister of the Spire spawn on Drake Island." You actually have to say "?llaw eht htiw eno I ma" to get the Sister to spawn.

* The Alla database has these entries:
1) Veeshan's Key
-> Says it comes from the keymaster
2) Veeshan's Key (Key of Misfortune)
-> Has no info

Unfortunately, while Alla shows *two* "Veeshan's Key", they both seem to be referring to the ONE key (which is sold by the Keymaster and which identifies as "Key of Misfortune".

If I were to make a suggestion, I'd say to please make the two keys in Alla as:

1) Veeshan's Key (Key of Misfortune)
-> Available from Key Master for 1 cp
2) Veeshan's Key (Veeshan's Key)
-> Available from Sirran the Lunatic

and put in the correct info for them.

** This is not a joke...seems to be a serious ***** up on the part of the game coders. The sad part is that there is also a "Key of Misfortune" which does, of course, identify as "Key of Misfortune".

Just like to say that the write up was so helpful and thank you. Second like to give ya my 2cents for almost 2006. Single first boss no problem(now I'm a ranger). Second boss problem for me by self because there your KOS to those little devil buggers. So I brought in the bos team of me Druid, shaman, cleric. Peace of cake. Remember do not kill boss round any other mobs your fighting he will assist and kick your ***. hit druid 2300 a pop. Plus ya cant fight back because to get keys ya got to turn items into him. Very important the boss's are on Not 100pct sure 24 hr timers. Sirran Pop'd after 20 minutes. So if ya ***** up ya got to wait a day. Now I'm working the shaman 1.5. Boxing mostly and getting friends to help me when needed. I got a wizard on same account as cleric. But shaman needs turn in on Pegasus Island. Shaman doesn't have that key and we screwed up today trying to 3 box Gorgolosk. This killed me 3 times but I finally nailed him and Sirran pop'd as I was comming into that house he is in. So gotta do it again tommorow. Here's some points from what I did wrong. If your boxing this guy don't underestimate him. He will have bout 3 adds with him prob messable would highly suggest a chanter friend to come along. But might not do any good. They cast this and not 100pct sure AOE it seemed dispell. you will be fighting buffless. So from a healing prospective no heal over time just straight heals. Slows and dots will not stay long. Straight DD's and melee. So the chanters mezz will be dispelled from one of the eyes(Mob that cons dark blue to 70). You all seen them they loved this guy in LDON's Guk and SR. I pulled him inside the house trying to kill all the mobs that came with him first so that I could kill Gorgolosk last(remembering if any mobs are still up and gorgolosk is dead that Siran will pop and assist.) This means that the name will be beating on your little grp while you take on 4 adds buffless. I think tommorow I'm gonna kill every mob on that part of island before I take on Gorgolosk. Yes when I pulled him I did use harmony but these mage pets who are invis'd wonder around and aggro. They and the eyes and birds all wonder, but people been here before and they know that. Checked out the next Island and the Pegasus mob shamans need to hand there item into moves around alot but with any sorta a tracker it was easy as pie. Good luck and I hope it helped.

The other night, we fought our way to the Harvester Island, but people left before Keeper spawned. Later on, some of us ported up and killed the Thunder Spirit Princess to spawn Sirran. Tried handing him our whistles, but he rejected them. He didn't swallow it, just didn't know what to do with it and gave it back.

Also, I don't think anyone else has mentioned it, these keys are not added to your keyring, nor are they soul bound. So, if you die on one of the later islands, you'll need to do the corpse summoning or have some friends escort you back once earlier mobs have repoped.

YES. There are 4 jumps possible from a higher island to a lower island. However, you need a way to survive the jumps (they yield 20k HP of damage if you don't use Harmshield or other protection).

You need all eight keys (including quest key) to freely move through Plane of Sky. The later keys do not work on the earlier isles.

The key master also sells some of these keys. It would be nice if the names of these keys were included in the write up so we could know which keys we need to raid for and which keys can be purchased.

The Keymaster only sells the keys from the first island: Key of Swords, Key of Misplaced, and the key to the quest area. If you buy them, all you are skipping are the fairies on the first isle, and it probably isn't worth the cash since they're so easy to kill.

That one is the Quest key not the same key as the one given by Sirran.
