You say, 'Hail, Ghaib Zilal'
Ghaib Zilal says 'Quiet, fool. The pathetic kobolds know not of my presence and I'd like to keep it that way. Though, I was hoping someone with your strength would come along. I am in need of your [aid].' You say, 'What aid?' Ghaib Zilal says 'I've infiltrated this, the latest stronghold of the servants of Solusek Ro, to find a way to cast them out before they grow too strong. My excursions into the deeper caverns have led me to an answer, but I alone cannot retrieve what I require. If you [lend me your strength], I will in turn help you in your own destruction of our mutual foes.' You say, 'I will lend you my strength.' Ghaib Zilal says 'Excellent. Deeper within these caves lie many fierce denizens of flame. The kobolds fear them and rightly so for many dogs have fallen to the pure elemental might these creatures control. By harnessing this power, I believe I can produce a temper that once infused into a weapon will allow the owner to wield the very essence of fire itself. To create this temper, though, I need [raw materials].' You say, 'What raw materials?' Ghaib Zilal says 'I need the very essence of the fire creatures that make their home here: pieces of flesh, drops of blood, fluids, bone or whatever else you can find that still radiates heat long after the creature is destroyed. I'll need parts from four different types of creatures to produce the temper. We've spoken long enough. You must go before you alert the kobolds to my presence. Return to me only once you have the materials.' Ghaib wants A Smoldering Tentacle (off tentacle mobs), Seared Imp's Blood (off imps), Seared Ooze (off oozes), and Crystallized Soul of Fire (off elementals). Give these to him and he gives you a temper and tells you to find three parts of the weapon, all of which drop from kobolds: Melted Hilt, Shattered Blade (identifies as top half), and Shattered Blade (identifies as bottom half). Do both shattered blade pieces drop off kobolds here or Do I need to go to a different spot?

Oh and does anyone know why there seems to be no visible spell effects like on my copper hammer of striking? I mean i know the effect would be diffent,..but i dont see any effect at all just get a message that i hit it for 150 no melee.
My question is: Does anyone know if this is MQ'able?
Found the other part today,..now all i need is the Soul Of Fire,..
*sigh*,..3 days of farming and nada!

My troll and I killed imps and keepers in the Sol Temple (the one with all the quest NPC's) to raise faction enough to finish the quest.
We went from ally to KOS to temple dwellers within 6 kills.
Best of Luck to those wanting to finish this quest.
it is not soloable, this zone can be difficult. the kobolds are soloable if you have pacification, but the other mobs further in are more difficult and there are lots of wanderers. you really just have to have the right tools and a nice group. it can be done with 4 easily if you know what you are doing. probably less, but never tried. I think at the least, you need healing, pacification (high level) mezzing and tanking. so can prob be done with high level enchanter, cleric(or any healer) and a tank, although the extra DPS is very nice and it wouldn't take you nearly as long.
unlike the cloak quest, the items for this one still drop of non named mobs, so if you need X piece, then just camp the mobs you need only and it will drop eventually. the hardest one for me was the imp blood, until we focused SOLELY on imps and then in dropped in like 30 minutes.
In other words..does it require a group to do?..or can a single higher level solo it?
Thanks for any info...I really like working on quests...but since I just came back from a break....I have never been to these new zones.

A Smoldering Tentacle(drops off the Tentacles mobs)
Seared Imp Blood (drops off the imps)
Seared Ooze (drops off the oozes)
Crystallized Soul of Fire (drops off the elemental mobs).
You then turn in these 4 items to recive a temper. After that you need to kill kobolds and gahter three items which are also NOT No drop but lore atm.
These are the Melted Hilt, Shattered Blade(bottom) and Shattered Blade(top).
Turn these in along with the temper and recieve the Ghaib's, Flame Forged Longsword.

I have all but the Seared Ooze, but Ghaib won't talk to me to give me the quest.
Ideas anyone? Help?
Also, the part that isnt named in Padain Fain's post just above is Seared Imp's Blood. Looks just like a blood vial. The other one's full name is Crystallized Soul of Fire and looks like a ruby.

Ghaib still won't speak to me, but I completed the quest. I tried charm and faction songs (I'm a bard) but they didnt work. Get a message stating "your spell wont take hold." Then another character started talking to Ghaib. The other char was to the side of Ghaib, and the act of replying made Ghaib turn to the side, opening up his back.
I used SNEAK, and everything went fine after that!

Forgive my memory but I didn't write down precisely what the 4 items he needs are.
1) Seared Ooze.
Random drop from the pools of lava etc.
2) Smoldering Terror Tentacle.
Random drop from the tentacled mobs.
3) Soul of Fire (or similar)
Random drop from Fire Elemental mobs.
4) Forgotten what it was called.
Pretty sure it dropped either from the imps or the winged mobs that hang around the imps.
All four items ID that they radiate heat.
Hand those 4 in and he hands you back a temper.
Now he wants the parts for the powerful weapon that can accept the temper. He mentions that it was destroyed and fell into the hands of many of the kobolds.
The three items are:
1) Shattered Blade (ID's top half)
2) Shattered Blade (ID's bottom half)
3) Melted Hilt
All three drop randomly from the kobolds.
Hand those three in with the temper and you get:
Ghaib's Flame-Forged Longsword.
