Thadres Thyme may be found in McQuaid's Dark Stout at +105, -200. She's not on Find, but close to Donald McQuaid who's on Find. She's a Qeynos rogue on Circle of Unseen Hands, though negative faction with her doesn't seem to prevent talking to her and obtaining the quest.

You say, 'Hail, Thadres Thyme'

Thadres Thyme says 'Hello, ______! It's hard to believe just how cold it gets here! It really has been wearing me down. Especially after the [journey] from Qeynos.'

You say, 'What journey?'

Thadres Thyme says 'I have been traveling the face of Norrath to unravel the mystery of why my beloved [brother] attacked a group of traveling bards. He didn't survive the fight. It's been so long, I can't really remember what he looked like! I miss him so much . . . Now all I have are his [diary] and some brewing recipes he sold before his death.'

You say, 'Who was your brother?'

Thadres Thyme says 'My brother was Delius Thyme. I think he was a great man. ______, have you ever lost someone close? I don't know if I can ever forgive myself for letting him travel on his own after his sanity began to fade. Oh, Delius, please forgive me!'

You say, 'What about his diary?'

Thadres Thyme says 'The diary? It's one of the two connections I still have to my brother. Sadly, [pages] are missing from it. I've been looking for them.'

You say, 'What pages?'

Thadres Thyme says 'I believe the pages contain the events that drove my brother to insanity. I have been searching for the remaining three missing pages. There is some hope; I found a couple of pages over in Everfrost Mountains.'

Head to Everfrost Peaks and find and kill vengeful soloist, vengeful composer, and vengeful lyricist, all undead skeletons, all around level 10, and all wandering the newbie area. They are placeholders for each other, when one dies, another one (possibly the same one) spawns a few seconds later.

Loot Delius Thyme's Diary Pg. 74-76. The pages are NO TRADE and TEMPORARY, so be sure to collect all 3 pages and turn them in before quitting the game. Alternatively, you can store Temporary items for as long as you want in your house if you have one.

Page 74 reads:

Oct 2
Today was an especially cold day. Never stay in Halas again. The only bright point was I met a Master Brewer named Garsen who agreed to join our group and help us explore the uncharted depths of Permafrost. He seems to speak only in rhyme which is a bit annoying but his skill with weapons makes up for it. He said he has to keep practicing because he is writing countless books of Brewing Limericks.

Oct 3
Everfrost Mountains must be the coldest place on Norrath, and to make matters worse we were almost killed by a Mammoth that appeared over a peak. Tolan was almost slain but Garsen saved him.

Oct 4
We discovered underground caverns. The only thing more frightening than
monsters is Garsen opening his mouth. I'd say, " I need to sit and rest". He'd follow with; "Do you really think that's best?" Tolan said, "We could really use a Cleric". Garsen replied, "Don't be a hysteric". I can't take it, can't take it.

Page 75 reads:

Oct 5
Garsen was quite offended by Tolan's outburst today. Tolan said that our food tasted like it came from the sewer and Garsen, as usual, replied with a rhyme, "It could taste better with a skewer." Tolan made him realize how irritating his voice is. One more rhyme, ONE more damn rhyme, and I'll kill him myself.

Oct 6
Garsen was quiet all day today and didn't mutter a word even when he was almost killed and needed help.

However, when we stopped to camp we had to sleep right next to each other because of our location. Garsen was murmuring rhymes in his sleep. Every damn word out of his mouth rang in my ears. Each syllable lingered just long enough to drive me crazy. I kept praying that the next word would not rhyme. Satisfaction never came.

Tolan and I talked and decided to help him sleep a bit better.

Oct 7
We rifled through our departed friends things and found the unfinished limericks and component charts on the brewing trade. After destroying many Tolan suggested someone might want to buy the rest. We'll try to sell them in Halas.

Page 76 reads:

Oct 23
Just got out of prison and finally received my possessions back. I arrived back in Halas on the 9th and sold the limericks to a Barbarian who paid a hefty amount of silver for the work. As I was walking down the street a Blacksmith said, "I'll have to charge my usual fee of 12 copper." His patron replied, "If I pay you that much I'll be a pauper." I had no idea if the rhyme was intentional or not but uncontrollable rage swept over me. Slowly, ever so slowly, I turned, grabbed the patron by the throat and squeezed. It took six guards to free him. One guard gave me a strong warning and said, "You must now leave our city". Which was fine but another guard said right afterward, "Do this again and face the committee."
Before I could realize it, my hands were wrapped around the guard's throat. Jail wasn't that bad save the rats, bats, mildew, and stench. Unusually, the jail served rat sandwiches everyday. At least no one has said a rhyme to me since. The end to the horror seems far from sight. Rhyming winter nightmares have sadly impaled me. Writhing with nightly havoc, sanity eludes me.

Turn in the three pages to Thadres Thyme.

Thadres Thyme says 'Thank you very much. Now, please help me find all three missing pages.'
Thadres Thyme says 'Thank you very much. Now, please help me find all three missing pages.'
Thadres Thyme says 'Thank you, thank you. Let me read them. Oh! How could I want these brewing recipes after they made my brother insane? Where are they? I think this is all of them. Take them away from me! Delius can smile upon me now.'

REVENGE is sweet

I have to agree with a lot of other posts here. The quest isn't much, but the revenge factor is soooooo nice. Any time I am wandering through I make it a point to put these 3 on ice.

Glad it was so quickly updated, thanx.

Missed deleting a few lines from the old, from
"There are 3 skeletons wandering Everfrost..." to
"Need all dialogues,..."

There are NO additional rewards, just Garsen's Brewing
List and Thadres's thanks, which sells for less than 1sp.
I've done the quest 4 times, and that's all you get.

BTW, I've done it so often because I found a very busy
spot in Everfrost Peaks, next to the three empty Ice
Goblin igloos, near (100, 900). Every newbie area MoB
wanders by eventually (or even spawns there), including
the "vengeful"s. I combined farming loot for tailoring
with the quests Cindl's Polar Bear, Wooly Fungus, and
Vengeful Musicians. I suppose you could also add the
Qeynos Bone Chips quest.

Oops, my bad. Re-updated, thanks.
useless quest but.....
# Jan 24 2005 at 11:11 PM Rating: Decent
This quest is a waste of time really, only good thing is the xp you get from the vengfuls them selves, killed all 3 of them twice with my lvl 8 ranger, no buffs and hardly any gear lol.

Finished this quest today with my lvl 8 BST and I can agree that after all the times of being killed by these guys on this and other toons, it feels great to drop them. From Delius' sister's comments it looks as though this is Verant's attempt at a public service annoucement: "Dont' drink booze cuz it will make u go insane".

and they will walk past you. Seems almost guarenteed, this is the Zone in point from the Spiritstone of Everfrost.

Have fun!

These guys were a piece of cake with my lvl 5 Shaman after he got his Tribunal Initiate necklace. It gives you a Cleric-only Hammer spell (Hammer of Wrath I think). Anyway, it was great against the undead pests!

I just finished this quest with my untwinked and mostly unbuffed lvl 7 shaman today. I didn't find killing the skellies nearly as easy as some of the posts here.
I started when I was lvl 6, managed to take out the composer (which conned red) on my own. I thought myself very lucky and the xp took me up to lvl 7. Next I fought and killed the lyricist, which at that time conned yellow. Again, not too much trouble, using the melee, bash, Burst of Flame technique. The soloist on the other hand was a completely different story. Twice I tried to take him (red con) by myself and twice he wasted me, with me only able to take down about a bubble of his hit points. The third time I died, I called for help and a lvl 2 beastlord tried to help me out, but yes - you guessed it - we both got killed. It was closer this time - I died when he had about a quarter of a health bubble left. Annoyed, I then went to ask a lvl 8 shaman to help me take it, only to find that he'd killed it as it walked past him.
Thankfully, he let me loot the corpse and I went back to Halas to finish the quest. In return for all my trouble, I got possibly the most useless brewing book in the world - it doesn't list any recipes for drinks, instead it simply lists what the best drinks are in Halas. Bloody brilliant, I thought. But I keep telling myself, it's about the questing, not the loot...

You will find in the future, when you are lvl 65 and totally uber, that killing these guys will STILL give you a rush of satisfaction!

These Skeles are cake. I thought it was a decaying skeleton at first, but it aggro'd on me, and my pet stomped a hole in it in about 30 seconds (lvl 10 mage - earth pet with a 1H staff). It was hitting pretty weak, too. That was strange because it con'd white to me.

Another was right behind it, so I told the pet to back off, and I nuked it twice with Shock o' Blades. Boom! Dead.

Good XP, low hit points, but the quest is sucky. I had 2 pages just ******** around in EF and farming spiderling silk. Lo and behold I lost them the next time I played. Just destroy the suck loot, and kill em for the XP.

 At level 4 my beastlord untwinked at the time had gottten buffs from a 51lvl druid. Seeing that I was untwinked He gave me this ulak that started hitting for around 20 damage. Being killed before by these unsavory characters i did start running to the gaurds for about 2secs. I turned on him and started wailing away on him let me tell you this was a very close fight iwould be ahead on the Hp bar then he would. when i killed him i had 7% of my HP's left. I got about 2 bubbles of exp. I shouted at the top of my lungs in character and got alot of gratz. I'm lvl 9 nowand i still like to wack them
Lame Reward sweet Revenge

I Play Payback on these 3 skeletons every chance I get, LOL. If you are hunting them try the large area with 3 igloos in everfrost narrows not on tundra for the Lyrcist and Soloist, then the road between Black burrow and gaurd Bandl for the composer. The reward is weak and doesnt sell to merchants for didly but the REVENGE satisfaction is very sweet. I cant wait until im high enough lvl to play payback on that Martar character. While camping these 3 I just killed every skeleton I cam across and collected their weapons which made decent money so the hour I spent didnt feel to long.

They've made the addition of NO RENT to the diary pages. It used to be that one could go around and save up thier pages for when they had all three. Now, You loot one, maybe two, and not be able to get the third before it comes time to log off. And when you log back on, they're gone.

If you would allow me ...

Technically your BOTH correct. Its called "Multi-questing" or that is my guess. See, if you have an NPC that wants 4 bone chips to give any experience. for example... Lets say person A only has three and person B runs up and turns in one. He will get the xp.

So in this case, it sounds a little different. I am assuming you get XP for any turn in, and you get reward for ALL turn in's.

Since the items are now [NO RENT] Someone probably simply turned in what they had before they logged. Since you cant hand them to others, before you log, go ahead and turn them in. Others might bennifit from it.

So your both right really. Its called Multi-questing. A great example is if you wanted the book, and I have a lore, no rent page... I could turn the one I had in... you turn in others, bam, item. so we now know this quest is Multi-questable, not that many of this lvl will use it.
