This is a raid event (for level 55-60 - the higher you are, the smaller the force you'll need) in the Acrylia Caverns. It begins with Spiritist Kama Resan, a Vah Shir prisoner inside one of two jail cells past the totem pole.

Triggering the Event

You say, 'Hail, Spiritist Kama Resan'

Spiritist Kama Resan says 'Thank you for coming. I am not sure what brought you here but I am glad that you have arrived. Andro and I came here as part of a raiding party. Our entire party was captured, all except Andro and I died. In the time we have been here, we have learned of 3 [seals which] protect the inner chambers.'

You say, 'What seals?'

Spiritist Kama Resan says 'Interesting, from what we can tell each of the 3 seals embodies one of the principles with which the grimlings were created, Life, Death, and Spirit. Each of the seals has been enclosed in a Warder whose very existence is tied to the seal. Destroy the [Warder] and the seal falls with it.'

You say, 'What Warder?'

Spiritist Kama Resan says 'We have discovered that the Life Ward exists inside this chamber, while the Death Ward exists in a chamber above. The spirit ward is hidden somewhere deeper; we can sense its presence, but cannot find its exact location. We suspect that you cannot reach it with the life and death wards still whole. We fear that the [situation] may be complicated even further.'

You say, 'What situation?'

Spiritist Kama Resan says 'The Wards are a by-product of the magic that was used to create the grimlings, there is symmetry between them. We have managed a [spell] that will destroy the magic hiding two of the Wards, the Life Ward and the Death Ward. Starting the spell will cause both to manifest, however the magic protecting the Life Ward will not fall completely until we have completed our spell.'

You say, 'What spell?'

Spiritist Kama Resan says 'The spell will use our own life force to break the life ward's shields, we will die shortly after we begin casting, if we do not complete [casting] our spell. Even if we do our life force is tied to that of the Wards, we will die shortly after completion if either Life, or Death Wards still live.'

You say, 'What casting?'

Spiritist Kama Resan says 'There is one more thing I should mention... While we were perfecting the spell, whenever we would get close the life ward would summon grimlings to disrupt our chants. We are not able to concentrate or focus with them present. You will have to make sure they are not around to stop our magic, and do not forget that the death and spirit wards will resurrect the life ward if one or the other isn't destroyed shortly after it falls. Let me know when you are [ready] for us to [begin our spell.]'

You say, 'We are ready for you to begin your spell'

The Warders

As you repeat the trigger text, six grimling spelljammers spawn (3 per cell), as do the Warders of Life and Death. They prevent the Vah Shirs from completing their spell casting. The Warder of Death is killable immediately. The Warder of Life is untargettable for now.

The spelljammers do not attack and are stunnable. It is not known if mez works on them.

The reanimated guardians spawn throughout the fight until the Warder of Life becomes targettable.

To make Warder of Life targettable, you must allow the Vah Shir Spiritists to continue their spell. They emote approximately once a minute, at which point if the spelljammers are still alive, the respective Spiritist's spellcasting is interrupted. After a certain number of successful chants, any remaining reanimated guardians will despawn and Warder of Life will be killable.

You do not have to kill the Warders in any particular order. Killing the Warder of Death first appears to have the effect of spawning fewer spelljammers during the Warder of Life section, but this is unconfirmed.

In the fight with the Warder of Death, mobs called "a sacrifice" spawn in intervals of about 10-30 seconds. They are attackable and sometimes mezzable (not always). They move towards the sacrificial cauldron. If they make it to the cauldron, they despawn and cause the Ward of Death to be completely healed.

Both the Warder of Death and the Warder of Life must be killed within 10 minutes from trigger time, or the event ends.

You have slain the Warder of Life!
The Life Ward has been defeated. The first seal is broken.

You have slain the Warder of Death!
The Death Ward has been defeated. The second seal is broken.

The Twins

After handling the Warders, click on the trapdoor in front of the grimling warlord spawn point. This leads to a room with 2x "a spiritual arcanist". The arcanists are vah shir and are each surrounded by four grimlings.

You only need to kill the grimlings around ONE of the vah shir (it's not known how to tell the vah shirs apart).

The script does NOT fail if you choose the incorrect vah shir. If you choose the result that saves the Vah Shir, 4x "a Deathguard" spawn, and upon slaying them, Khati Sha will either shout at you and the final seal will unlock, or you'll see a message stating that Khati Sha has no interest in meeting with you (meaning that he is not yet respawned from the last successful kill).

If you choose the result that "rescues" the grimling, 4x "a Deathguard" spawn. Upon slaying them, you must fight the grimling "a spiritual arcanist" and 4 more "a Deathguard". Upon killing the arcanist, the deathguards despawn. The arcanist drops additional loot, and the final seal will either break or Khati Sha will not have respawned yet.

Khati Sha the Twisted

The bridge to Khati Sha is found at the bottom of a lava pool, clicking it will raise it to the proper height, allowing safe crossing.

Kill the five Elite Grimling Deathguards (unslowable/unmezzable/max hit ~400).

Khati Sha stands upon his throne and is surrounded by four untargettable defiled minions. Once Khati Sha is engaged and suffers more than 1% of damage, they attack (hit for a max ~500). Some are stunnable, some are not. Some also proc "Blood Claw":

Blood Claw: Single Target, Poison (0)
1: Increase Poison Counter by 1
2: Decrease HP when cast by 20
3: Decrease Hitpoints by 15 per tick

Khati Sha hits for a max ~1,300 (quads) and rampages a lot. He has four AEs:

Cursed Visions I: PB AE 150', Magic (-300)
1: Decrease Spell Haste by 30%
2: Decrease Attack Speed by 30%

Cursed Visions II: PB AE 150', Magic (-300)
1: Decrease Spell Haste by 10%
2: Decrease Attack Speed by 10%

Tortured Memory: PB AE 60', Fire (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 400

Tortured Memory II: PB AE 60', Fire (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 200

(More details needed: how to tell one vah shir from the other, dialogues with vah shirs, emotes seen during the event, etc.)

Possible loot from the Warder of Death:
Bone Ring of the Death Ward
Deathguard's Pauldrons
Gloves of the Death Ward
Longbow of the Grimlings
Orb of Death
Trinket of Death

Possible loot from the Warder of Life:

Anyone know the reset time after a successful kill the next time it can be attempted?

Wondering if this is doable with 68 warrior, 62 cleric and 60 shaman? Non-raid gear equipped.

That is the message for when he has been defeated recently, looks like 7 days per spawn on this guy. As i said in other post my 2 successful spawns came from rescuing the cat that was not on the red circle.

I chose the correct vah shir thing to free, still failed. Said even though I chose the right cat to save, khati sha had no desire to see me today, guessing that's the script for when he's been beaten recently.

Still had the text available in my chat window.

"The arcanist appears much relieved to be released from that magical bondage. Having broken the seal and defeated the imposter, you attempt to open the door, yet it does not move... It appears that Khati Sha has no interest in holding audience with you on this day..."

Did you miss the post right before you? Tobynn posted on 2011-01-13, the day before you that he had just confirmed this event as working. You missed Khati Sha by a day. I can confirm this quest works as intended as well, even managed to spawn The Fabled Khati Sha on Friday March 26, 2011.

As soon as triggering the event drop the Warder of Death first, this does seem to reduce the amount of Spell Jammers that spawn during the triggering of the Warder of Life cycle.

If you are doing this event during the Anniversary time period when Fabled versions can spawn make sure to have enough DPS along in order to successfully drop the two Warders. I have had this unfortunate happenstance happen to me twice this year already, managed to burn the Fabled Warder of Death with my 88 Pally, however failed to complete the entire cycle before event despawned. The Fabled Warder of Life appears to have even more HP than the Fabled Warder of Death.

To prevent the sacrifices from reaching the cauldron I had my wifes druid sitting on the cauldron spammin AE quake spells. This helped in getting the Fabled Warder of Death down faster as the Sacrifices did not complete their journey.

Anyways hope this helps.

Today's patch mentioned a fix to the Khati Sha raid event. I can confirm the event once again functions properly. Finally, I was able to see (and kill!) the ever-elusive Khati Sha and loot that 4th quest book. I think the other 3 books of the quest have been in my bank for about 8 years now :)

For those who may have been wondering (all of the doors open and no spiritual arcanists spawn).

The Warder of Death
is also a part of this event.

If you are successful in completing the death of the two wardens and get the floor to move open, there is another door before the bridge (or lack there of) that says something to the effect of: The Third Ward has been slain. When in fact I never slayed a third ward.

Still not sure on the specifics of this event to spawn Khati (if he is even spawned from this event or just coincidence.

Thus far I've been able to kill every a spell jammer without them blocking any spells from the two Spiritists. I've tried killing the two warders at the same time, life first, and death first with no end result. Nor have I been able to have the bridge appear. I use some other tricks to get across the gap. I then clear all the mobs down there and have hung around for up to one hour with no Khati.

Edit: After a few more goes and really reading what the Spiritists have to say, it seems like there should be a third Ward = Ward of Spirit? They mention it to be deep within (within what?).

the death and spirit wards will resurrect the life ward if one or the other isn't destroyed shortly after it falls.

Having a tracker in zone, there were no signs of a Life Ward. Perhaps this mob is not spawning which is why the task is not updating with the spawning of Khati? Or perhaps Khati is the third ward?

No need for tricks. Just jump down into the lava and click the floor. The floor then raises up, taking you with it, and creates the bridge.

And yes, the script it broken. Been confirmed by many players on many servers. See FCseven's link to Sony forums.

I believe there is currently a bug in the script. It seems to have been broken since at least August '09.

The warder of life is part of a bigger event, which is the spawning of Khati Sha the Twisted. When all the "a sanctum XXXXX" mobs around the vah shir spiritists (Spiritist Andro Shimi, and Spiritist Kama Resan) are cleared away (that includes the mobs above them in the Warder of Death area, and in the jail cells below in the Warder of Life area), you may talk to the Spiritists and they will lead you through the dialogue. When "We are ready for you to begin your spell" triggers the event, the spelljammers will pop in the jail cells below the Spiritists, along with several of the undead. The spelljammers do not attack, and are stunnable. We did not try to mez them so I can't vouch for the viability of that. If the spelljammers are cleared away fast enough, the Warder of Life becomes tangible, between the two jail cells, and attacks. Simultaneously to all this going on, in the room above the spiritists, at the triggering of the event, the Warder of Death has gone immediately tangible. He stands next to the clickout tapestry and does not seem to proximity aggro if you don't get closer to him than the distance between him and the sacrificial cauldron. At the same time, mobs called 'a sacrifice' spawn, in intervals of about 10-30 seconds (I didn't keep track). They are attackable, sometimes mezzable but not always. They move immediately to the sacrificial cauldron. If they make it into the cauldron, they despawn and the Warder of Death is CHealed. In order to progress beyond this twin event, you must kill the Warder of Death, and the Warder of Life, within 10 minutes from trigger time, or the event ends. If this is done, the event progresses towards the eventual showdown with Khati Sha the Twisted. Our group hasn't gotten past the warders yet, we're still learning the ins and outs of the event and have been despawned on so far. More news as we get it.
Tough Encounter

Avatar Elite attempted this last night on MT. This is not your everyday Raid.

4 Groups avg level around 60-62 I think. A mix but a couple of uber tanks (1 in each cage). The first wave had me thinking it would be a slow grinder. Mobs hit hard and fast, but we weren't overly impressed. SOON after the first wave, the second wave spawned. By soon I mean 60-90 seconds. This round spawned around 6 more mobs by my tally. They ran first to the chanter then picked off healers one by one. Soon after came the total party wipe of course.

I saw hits double 471/471. Seemed to be a small AOE stun to, looked like a pallies stun graphic wise, and seamed to be around 100hp damage on the end of that.

If anyone has done this one all the way through, I would love to see the groups and tactics used.

Well, the names are in arabic chars if you have arabic type set installed.

However, the mobs will still respond to hails if you type the hail out like so /say Hail, Spiritist Kama Resan and you can start the quest from there.

Need at least 3 groups to do this, one group per jail cell and one group in the room where the zone out mural is.

In the jail cells keep the skeletons mezzed and kill the spelljammer grimlings. This will spawn the Warder of Life a few minutes into the fight, as well as the Warder of Death.

The Warder of Life spawns between the jail cells and is not immediately targetable. The Warder of Death spawns in the zone out room, and becomes targetable shortly after spawn. You must have a reliable mezzer in the Warder of Death group, or adds wil kill you.

Both warders con even at L65.

I don't know where the Warder of Spirits spawns. Possibly on the jail level in the room where the cauldron is. Possibly in the same room where the Warder of Death spawns, as grimlings keep thowing themselves into the sacrificial cauldron during the fight.

It is likely that the Warder of Spirits will spawn once the other two are dead, as it wasn't on track while the other two were up.

You must have reliable mez for this event. Healers get UNREAL aggro, if mobs get lose they will go after your healers and kill em.

As you can tell I haven't completed this quest, last time I tried we only had necro mez in Warder of Death group and they ended up wiping.

I would go as far as saying you need 4 groups, or three groups and a couple three extra who can kill Warder of Life. Seeing that you may need a 5th group for Warder of Spirit it was always like: "ok, do we really take 30 people to AC Inner, or should we just go and zerg BoT towers instead".

Maybe once someone completes the quest and the risk (effort) vs. reward will become apparent more people will be willing to try.

Good luck everyone, please post of you find out more.
