If you conbine Rod Segments I and II (found in the dungeon) with the Forge Hammer of Dalnir (dropped by the Undead Blacksmith who can be found in the room w/ 3 decapitated Iksar statues on the same floor as the chapel) in the Always Works forge, you will get the Long Iron Rod.

Need missing dialogues, current faction hits if any, /loc of quest mobs, list of additional quest rewards.

Interesting. I haven't read the lore fully in Kunark but in the current expansion "Empires of Kunark" there is a zone called Kor-Sha Laboratory. I suppose this item relates to it some where in the lore.

I was farming for the Visceral Dagger (doing Greeminst) a couple of nights ago, and the Rod Segment II dropped from the Kly Imprecator that spawns in the the Lab area.

For the person who said that Invis dropped every time they went to pick up the rod: Unfortunately, that's the way invisibility works, you can't pick up anything, hit anything, or cast spells when invisible. If you could, then you could just waltz into bad areas like Oggok or Neriak and trade with the vendors because you'd be indifferent since you're invisible. Sorry to say it, but it does make things a challenge.

This is not entirely true. You can't cast or shop, but you can pick items up off the ground without losing Invis. I used this trick to great effect to gather the rods for my Staff of the Wheel without killing a single guard mob.

Not to mention stealing loot off of dead mobs. You could just follow around a high lvl player killing for faction and take everything.

Your talking about two different things. The Staff of the Wheel is a quest about picking up ground spawns, you can pick them up invis without it dropping. You don't have to kill any mobs to do that quest and therefore not loot any corpses.

You can't loot a corpse of a mob or your own though without that dropping invis. Right clicking a vendor will also drop invis.

Where does one start the Staff of the Wheel quest for Wizards?

In Everfrost, at a erudite wizard that's hiding in the zone somewhere (can't remember where). It's a hard quest though, I died 5 times doing it with my wizard. Invis kept wearing off RIGHT after I picked up the stupid rods. Anyway, hope that helps!

Umm.. you know.. you can't loot a corpse while invisible. Looting causes invis to drop. Of course there's always a chance you know this and there's another factor i don't know about, but thought i'd let ya know just in case.

The erudite wizard in the Lake of Ill Omen has been studying the various Iksar tribes... he mentions the Atrebe tribe, I believe. Maybe he would be interested in an ancient Atrebe artifact?
Thanks

Thanks for the heads up guys - good necro quest are soooo hard to come by!
the note says
# Sep 02 2001 at 4:05 AM Rating: Default
Day 55 I
have happened upon the Crypt of Dalnir. His
Grand Forge is near, I can feel it. I have also
discovered a segment of a staff. It shows sign
of Iksar craftmanship, but of the age of Atrebe.
I know the other part must be here. It would
fetch heavy coin.

since the haggle baron also asks about heavy coin and this is the crypt of the haggle baron dalnir it would probably be a good idea for somone to try asking the baron about atrebe or try giving him the staff
Dagger head?

I got a head of a dagger from the same iksar that dropped the note... I'm sure this quest does go on further, someone should try.

i believe the dagger head is a part of the visceral dagger (a nice necro wep)
Regarding Heavy Coin
# May 07 2001 at 6:07 PM Rating: Default
The Haggle Baron in Cabilis speaks of Heavy Coin.

Also, the two torn pieces of the tapestry can be woven together to form a complete tapistry. The iron rod might have something to do with this also. But the Baron might be a much better lead.

In one of the journal pages scattered throughout the zone (the one by the Overseer I think) it says that you could exchange the long iron rod for some "heavy coin".. Does the completed rod sell to a merchant for lots of cash? Or is it part of a quest where you turn it in for a reward?
its a wepon

No YOU have to be kidding...this is a QUEST not a drop so why would you bother doing the quest and then destroy it?

Just don't do the quest in the first place...

Oh yeah and for the last time...

NOT EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME IS FOR FRIKKIN MONKS!

10 Pounds?

Granted not monk only - but the terms "Iron" and "monk" should not be used together in EQ.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 3:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What a joke. Who would risk there life/exp to get this. Not me. Throw some wis on it...maybe...what junk.
