This is the fourth upgraded warrior pike quest.

Seek out Drill Master Kyg in the fort in East Cabilis.

Note: Missing the clue that leads someone to ask Drill Master Kyg about Footman Moglok

You say, 'What about Footman Moglok?'

Drill Master Kyg says 'My dear friend, Warlord Hikyg of the Swamp Gate has encountered some difficulty with a Trooper Moglok. He requested that I find a brave soldier to take charge of the situation. Are you willing to [assist Warlord Hikyg]?'

You say, 'I will assist Warlord Hikyg'

Drill Master Kyg says 'Good. Take this note to Footman Moglok of the swamp garrison. He shall instruct you on your mission.'

You receive a Sealed Note, which identifies as "To Moglok." It reads:

Trooper Moglok, I have sent you this skilled Footman. Use the Footman in any way you wish. Hopefully he will allow you to complete your mission for Warlord Hikyg. Drill Master Kyg

Find Footman Moglok in the Swamp of No Hope. He's sitting in a corner of one of the buildings near the East Cabilis zone.

    You say, 'Hail, Footman Moglok'

Footman Moglok looks at you with sorrowful eyes and wipes his dripping nose. 'Woe is me. I am nothing more than a lowly footman. And spare me the smart remarks - 'Moglok the Froglok' - I have heard all the jokes.'

    Hand him the note.

Footman Moglok beams a big smile. 'Oh, joy! They have finally sent someone to help me on my mission! I was once a trooper, but I got demoted. I failed to bring Warlord Hikyg the three heads of the Gubbnubb triplets. Here is one head, but we need them all. Track the other two down and take all three heads and your soldier pike to Warlord Hikyg. I quit this outfit!!

You receive "A Froglok Head", which identifies as "Head of Narsh". You now need to seek out the other two heads.

The second head can be found in the Swamp of No Hope, off of "a froglok outlander" at location 830, -2880. This is near the waterfall leading to the Trakanon's Teeth zoneline. There are two static spawns there. The one to the West is always a "froglok outlander" and drops "A Froglok Head" (identifies as "Head of Barsh") and a Innothule Mushroom.

The third head can be found in three different zones.

The easiest place to find it is from the Swamp of No Hope. The spawn next to the froglok outlander that drops the Head of Barsh can rarely spawn another "froglok outlander". It's somewhat of a rare spawn and the common spawn is a "froglok gaz knight". You'll know that you have the right PH as killing the PH gives you negative "Frogloks of Guk" faction (as opposed to the normal "Frogloks of Kunark"). This outlander will drop "A Froglok Head" (identifies as "Head of Flindle") and a "Ornate Tin Box" (use unknown).

The outlander that drops the Head of Flindle can also be found in Innothule Swamp (as a roamer that has an unknown PH - possibly "a froglok forager") and in Upper Guk (near location 1500, 400). Both of these drop the head and the box.

Once you have all three heads, go to Warlord Hikyg and turn in the three heads and your Soldier's Pike.

Warlord Hikyg looks at you in disgust. 'I was expecting the heads of Narsh, Barsh and Flendle, as well as your soldier's pike. Then, you will be promoted to the rank of Trooper.'
Warlord Hikyg looks at you in disgust. 'I was expecting the heads of Narsh, Barsh and Flendle, as well as your soldier's pike. Then, you will be promoted to the rank of Trooper.'
Warlord Hikyg looks at you in disgust. 'I was expecting the heads of Narsh, Barsh and Flendle, as well as your soldier's pike. Then, you will be promoted to the rank of Trooper.'
Warlord Hikyg hands you plans for a trooper's pike head. Congratulations. You are now a trooper of the Legion of Cabilis. Now you may fight with honor and a mighty weapon.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better.
Your faction standing with Cabilis Residents got better.
Your faction standing with Scaled Mystics got better.
Your faction standing with Crusaders Of Greenmist got better.
Your faction standing with Swift Tails got better.
    You gain experience!!

    You receive "Trooper Head Plans."

Now seek out Weaponsmith Grugl in the fort in East Cabilis to learn how to forge your Trooper's Pike.

You say, 'How do I forge a trooper pike?'

Weaponsmith Grugl says 'To forge a trooper pike requires much skill! You also need an iron rod, forging hammer plus a trooper pike head. To forge the pike head, you will need the trooper pike head plans, a geozite tool, raw pike head and a radiant meteorite.'

Buy a "Raw Pike Head", "Forging Hammer", and an "Iron Rod" from Weaponsmith Grugl.

In a forge, combine "A Raw Pike Head", "Trooper Head Plans", "Radiant Meteorite" (foraged in the Burning Woods - tradeable) and your Geozite Tool (obtained by a quest from Drill Master Vygan). You'll receive "Trooper's Pike Head" (blacksmithing, 15 trivial). If you fail you'll receive your Geozite Tool and your Trooper Head Plans back.

You then need to combine an "Iron Rod", "Forging Hammer", and your "Trooper's Pike Head" in the forge to obtain your Trooper's Pike. If you fail the combine you'll receive your Trooper's Pike Head back (not trivial at 63 blacksmithing).

Congratulations, you've received your Trooper's Pike!

Confirmed on Coirnav that you can get both heads from the two static spawns near the waterfall to TT within Swamp of No Hope (+830, -2880). The two static spawns can each (somewhat rarely) spawn an outlander - 1 head from each spawn.

The initial note given by Drill Master Kyg is named "Sealed Note" and upon opening it, reads: "Trooper Moglok, I have sent you this skilled Footman. use the Footman in any way you wish. Hopefully he will allow you to complete your mission for Warlord Hikyg. Drill Master Kyg" .

As of this post and relating to the currently Kunark Era Fippy Darkpaw and Vulak progression servers, an iksar warrior can skip straight the Warlord Mancatcher quest (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4876) without doing any of the prior steps.

My warrior at the time of doing it is 58 and allied faction with Legion of Calibis. Faction and level may matter, maybe not.

You also still need the Geozite Tool/do the quest to make the Mancatcher.

This is where the questline is broken and not being touched by GMs/Devs till Gates of Discord era, supposively. One of the outlanders (the one unique to SoNH, and doesn't spawn ANYWHERE else) does not spawn at all. You may have a chance with petitioning a gm to get the missing item/mob, but don't get your hopes up.

In other words, the quest line should end here (other then the work around shown above).

If you are having trouble finding the second spawn in SoNH you can try and check the cave to Trak. I found a gaz knight in the tunnel, stuck up in one of the corners. Faction was Guk, so it was the PH.

The name of the note given to you by Drill Master Kyg is "A Sealed Note"

Right clicking on it, the note reads:

    Here's what you do

I had worked on this before, somewhat, a few levels ago. I didn't manage to find the ornate tin box head, and so I tried UGuk, like some people say. Big mistake. I died down there, but thankfully, this was just after SR was implemented, and my corpse was returned to me when I came back not so long ago.

Recently, I got it in my head to try this quest again. I now had the Narsh and Barsh heads (given to you and drops with a mushroom). One of the heads I had gotten by the TT zoneline (frequently posted loc of 829, -2889). This had been a pain, as I had had another computer, and lag was horribly bad on it in certain zones for some reason (the lag was strange. I don't remember anything about the lag except for the fact that it was incredibly strange). Luckily, I have a new computer now and SoNH is no problem for it. Killing the runners asap is a good thing, and if the SHM decides to root you when he's near death, make sure to turn OFF auto attack until the root fades.

The Barsh head is insanely common. Every froglok outlander that spawns drops it... or so it seems!

A froglok outlander will generally spawn next to another froglok, or in some cases, a skeleton. Kill the outlander and loot your Barsh head... then kill the froglok next to him. You can continue to kill the froglok outlander that spawns there next to the other froglok, but I seriously doubt that you'll find anything besides the mushroom.

However, when I went last night, something completely different than normal happened. A froglok outlander spawned where the random froglok (usually a gaz knight, occasionally a shaman) or skellie spawns. This happened after about 10 spawns (they are on a 6 minute timer). I killed him, went to loot the corpse, and immediately I noticed the tin box! I looted the head quickly and ran, as fast as my Iksarian legs could take me, to hand them in and obtain (FINALLY!) my next promotion!

The radiant meteorite took about 2 hours to forage, but it's not that hard to get to the BW, just look at a zone map of Skyfire (OT > Skyfire > BW) and head along the zone border. Coming and and going back to OT, though, watch for chromodracs and other wandering spawns.

With a smithing skill of 27, I didn't fail on the head combine (I didn't check to see if it was trivial, I was too excited). I failed about 9 times trying to make the pike itself, but I got 3 skillups and eventually succeeded, so it wasn't so bad. After the first failure, I bought several of the iron rods and smithy hammers. The last one was the one that produced my Trooper's Pike.

I am now a brave Trooper of the Empire, and am looking towards getting my mancatcher.

In swamp of no hope, I found one at 830, -2880.

He'll either spawn next to another froglok and wont move or he'll spawn next to a lesser scalebone skelly and they will fight each other. The skelly will win, so if you go to the loc and see just the skelly, kill him off and wait.

Never seen the Repairer drop a head (not saying he don't but must have killed him 8 times and didn't get any head.

Your best bet is to just stay at the double spawn point at Pos 830, Neg 2880. Outlander spawn pretty regular there and fast. took about an hour to get both heads. Turn in 3 heads and Soldiers pike to Warlord Hikyg for the troopers plans.

1st one : Recieve from Footman Moglok upon starting the quest

2: Off Froglok Outlander near the stream close to the TT zone cave

3: Off the Froglok Repaier Roams around the froglok city to near where the 2nd froglok spawns then despawns near the Iksar Quest NPC is at the broken statue. The Trooperscale leggings quest guy.

    Hope this helps :)

How is this linked as to when you find War Baron Eator's "memories of Sebilis" and having to hail Drill Master Kyg and say "Who is footman Moglok" ??? The War Baron, when you hand in the gems for the Footman's Pike, he goes to say something along the lines of "come back when you are a Trooper"
Im a stickler for details... I just wanna know how peeps know to say "Who is Footman Moglok" To Drill Master Kyg???

Does the mushroom that that drops off the outlander have a longer name? And does it identify as anything beyond 'mushroom'?

I found "a froglok outlander" in swamp of no hope at p250xn2250 next to a froglok knight. I'm a 31 warrior and I was able to kill them with ease. Using a Silvery Mask I identified the first head that dropped as Head of Barsh. When this head dropped so did a stackable mushroom. When the Head of Findle dropped, so did the tin box, no mushroom. Oddly though Barsh spawned in the left spawn, and Findle spawned on the right. It took me about 60 minutes to get both heads. I destroyed the box because it didn't identify as anything special but its name.

    hope this helps!

Outlander and Froglok Knight spawn right next to each other. Didn't see anything else around.

Heads dropped back to back, I must be very luck.

1st Outlander dropped the Head and a mushroom.
2nd Outlander dropped the Head and the box

the spawn point for the outlander`s are right next to each other, as you face north the western outlander & PH`s are the Common head drop-mushroom & Barsh Head(I identified 5 in a row with an Enchanter). the eastern spawn two steps away is what I assume is the second outlander spwan point though all I have EVER seen is the PH`s(gaz knight/Shin Shaman/maruader/gaz Shaman).

Where is the third head??? Please someone tell me.

just keep killing those two pop`s and eventually you`ll get the third head and a tin box.
I got mine last night.(after forever camping it for an hour or two here and there ). takes forever when evertime someone running into or out of TT drag them away from the spawn point.

I did this quest today. I camped the Frogluk Outlander. He dropped the normal lore head many times and eventually did drop the tin box and 2nd lore head. Gave all 3 heards and pike to the Warlord and got my plans. Then went to Burning woods to forage the radiant medeorite. I was unable to but someone else in the zone had one and brought it to me. (too dangerous for me to wander around there) Bought the items from the merchant that I still needed. With all items I made the pike head & then the full pike. My smith skill is at 101 and both were trivial for me.

I had been reading for a while that one head came from the outlander and the other came from the repairer. Is that wrong? I've killed the outlander at least 10 times and gotten only the head with the mushroom. Just wanted to make sure I'm supposed to keep camping the outlander and not go look for the repairer.

Also, does this quest really require the Long Iron Rod from Dalnir or do you use the Iron Rod that the vendor sells?

You want heads? Swamp of no hope near waterfall p829 n2889. Placeholders are 'a froglok gaz knight' 'a lesser ice bone' 'a lesser charbone' 'a froglok tuk shaman' 'a froglok gaz shaman'.. It's a 6 minute double spawn. They stand side by side.. Outlander will pop here in either spot.. Outlander will either drop Flindel head and a mushroom or rarer Barsh head 2 and an ornate box. Since heads are lore no need to identify.. cuz it will only let you loot one of each.. Took me about an hour and a half to get both heads in this spot.

I went there last night and I found him up the Hill to the west near the Stump. killed him and got the `Barsh` head and a mushroom. 6 minutes later he pop`d down the Hill at the Afore mentioned Loc so I went down and smoked him again & got the Same Head again. Destroyed the head I was holding and picked up the one on the body.(I don`t like leaving Bodies around). well I got an outlander pop every 6 minutes and did the destroy & Loot for the next 7 Pop`s on the next pop I didn`t Destroy and Loot , I let it decay. BAD move(or good move). 30 minutes later a Lesser Ice Bone pop`d - killed it looted it and waited 20 minutes no pop`s got tired and logged.( 2 am ).So I got 10 consecutive Outlander pop`s when not letting it Decay - after I let it decay the good fortune ended.(or maybe the normal pop progression started after I let it decay?)

Logged back with Iksar at 10:45 pm PST and Pop was there - Froglok Gaz Knight - Killed him - 7minutes 30 Seconds later - Froglok Ton Shaman popped - killed Him - the Next 5 pops where Froglok Gaz Knights at 7minute 30second reSpawn from Looting body.

I've killed over 50 of the one outlander and got the same head. I've noticed that if you don't kil the second placehoder and it runs away, it gets lost and nothing will respawn in it's spot. So if you are there and nothing is spawning, it's probably because the ph is lost.

Just an idea, if you are predominantly killing one of two pops at these locs then you are cutting your odds of success by at least 50%. Also, I seen mobs several times that 'spawn' at a point then wander off to a certain set point or points. Try either killing them before they wander or letting one go and following it to see where it's route takes it.

heheheh, these don`t wander. they agro on the High level folks coming out of TT and get stuck.
they do despawn after a while and repop in their rightful spot after a time. I got my Rare pop tonight with the box from the furthest west pop which I had only before seen the common pop with the mushroom. and the next pop after was to my surprise ANOTHER tin box & head !!!!
