Before you get to this step, you will get a charm and will need to run around the city and talk to several NPC's to activate that charm.

You say, 'Hail, Kor Master Gloorg'

Kor Master Gloorg says 'Welcome back, young Kor. I hope your training is going well. Unfortunately I have been unable to keep up to date on your progress, but should you need advanced training in any individual skills, I am here to help you with that. As well, I am here to guide you through your growth as a Cleric in the Guktan Army. With the skills that you learn here, you will be better prepared to serve the Army. If you do
indeed plan on following the path of a [Cleric], I have some tasks that you will need to complete, if it suits your interest.'

You say, 'I am a cleric'

Kor Master Gloorg says, 'Excellent! I will give you a list of items to collect, and then combine in this magical assembly kit. This will create a material that you will use to craft a suit of armor that will protect
you from the various dangers of Norrath, for years to come. If you are ready to begin your task, I will give you the assembly kit, as well as instructions for collecting the necessary items to craft your armor. Are
you ready to receive your [assembly kit]?

You say, 'I am ready to receive my assembly kit'

Kor Master Gloorg says, 'Here you are Runi, take this assembly kit, it is what you will use to combine the different items required to craft your own Kor Initiate's armor. Different items will be required to craft the different pieces of armor. These items will be available from both our outpost, as well as the training grounds near here. When you
are ready to receive a recipe for a specific material, simply tell me which armor piece you [wish to craft]. I hold the recipe's for Kor Initiates [Helms], [Bracers], [Boots], [Armguards], [Legplates], [Gloves] and [Breastplates]. Keep in mind that the items required to make some of the larger pieces of armor will be a bit more difficult to get. You may want to wait until you are more experienced before attempting to obtain the components.

You say, 'I wish to craft breastplates'

Kor Master Gloorg says, 'So, you think yourself skilled enough to obtain the components necessary to craft your breastplate? I sure hope that you aren't wrong, it would be a very sad day to know that we lost such a promising young recruit because they were a bit overzealous. Regardless, as you have asked, I will give you the recipe to craft the breastplate. To create the material needed to craft your breastplate, you will need to gather two pristine bull alligator hides, larvae skin, and two pristine moccasin scales, and combine them in your assembly kit. Once you have the correct material, you will need to forge the items together, along with this mold, to craft your Breastplate of the Kor Initiate. After you have completed your breastplate, I may have another [task] for you to complete.

Frustraited for Spines!
# Apr 13 2004 at 8:11 AM Rating: Decent
OKay.. I know that this isnt the shaman area for this post but I thought Id try every avenue. Has anyone ever seen a Bull alligator spine? I cannot even find information regarding them let alone find them on the Bull gators. I have picked up two pristine bull alligator hides and tried them instead on my shaman newbie Breastplate armor quest and nada. they want the spines. I have never even seen a spine. does anyone at least have a picture of one so I know that they arent a figment of the quests imagination?

Ive been looking for 3 days for a cracked skele skull ..Can anyone help me out on where to look??

Thanks

The cracked skull drops off of Skeletons that wander the zone, best place I have found to hunt them is the north east corner, can get your Larvae skin and Giant Moccasin parts there too.
This quest sucks

This is an experiment. This is something I made for myself. If you like it, rate it well. If you don't want to see it, rate it badly. I might do more if it receives favorable responses.

Thanks for a great post. I'm just finishing up my froggie cleric's armour quest (only need 1 more pristine moccasin scale for my breastplate) and lists like this are a great help, particularly with quests like these were the drops are noticably harder to find that with other newbie quests. The information on additional quests was also helpful. I didn't know about the satchel, for example.

Appreciated the post. Picked up a couple of ghoul feet while going after zombie skin for my chanter. Thanks to your post now I know it's ok to sell them off.
Some Rarer Drops
# Apr 01 2003 at 10:40 PM Rating: Excellent
Here are some of the items I have found:

Bleeder Wings - adult bleeders, all near Guk
Breeder Carapace - adult bleeders
Mallable Bleeder Skin - feral bleeder
Larva Skin - tough skinned larvae
Pristine Bull Alligator Hide - bull alligator, rare, but not the rarest. Killed around 20
Pristine Bleeder Skin - feral bleeders

All the other items were either pretty common or cheap off of vendors in Inny and in Gukta. Except:

Still have yet to see:

Set of Moccassin Scales - have mocassin scales, but have never seen a "Set." Do they mean 2?
Mosquito Carcass - must be pretty rare
Mocacassin Egg - VERY rare, unless they are off of the newbie ones. Did not kill too many of them before they were GTM.

Pristine Scales do drop

I looted 2 pristine scales today. In fact all I need to finish the bp for my cleric now is one more pristine bull alligator hide. All this because I'm too cheap to go buy equivalent gear in the bazaar for my alt :P

AC and Skill
# Feb 26 2003 at 5:03 PM Rating: Default
Keep something in mind here. Every character I have ever twinked has had a heckuva time getting their Defense skill to go up. My belief is that the skill won't go up well simply because of the amount of armor already being worn. I twinked a warrior out with alot of crystal chitin and acrylia plate, and by lvl 28 his defense skill was only in the 90's.

In my opinion, if you're going to twink, use low grade weapons at first with a fast delay just to keep your skills up. Avoid twinking with armor, but HP/Mana items are great. Also a haste item is a bonus to help keep the weapon skills up.

This way, your skills don't completely suffer. I think. My opinion anyway from my own experiences.

Oh yeah, not only does not twinking with armor help keep your skill up, but it also helps break the monotany by doing the newbie quests. Good enough till you hit 20, then twink to your hearts content. :)

Agility!

Raise your agility some more. Dexterity gives you offensive skillups, agility gives you defensive skillups for the most part. I think there's a few exceptions.

And yes, every time a mob takes a swing at you, you get a chance at getting a skillup. So if you kill way too fast, or have someone PLing you and slowing mobs, your defense will suck :P
RE: AC and Skill
# Feb 28 2003 at 7:24 AM Rating: Decent
Reason your defense skill wont go up is cause you're not getting hit enough times. Best way I've found to raise defense is to let a bunch of dark blues smack me at one. If you've got three or four hitting you at the same time, every miss and every hit will have a chance of raising your skill. I always run around paineel newbie grounds to level my alts with 3 skeletons smacking me from behind.

You have to understand, all initiate quests are for young new adventurers to learn how to play and get some exp while working to it. I de say they are newby quests. If you want to get the armor you should concentrate on it when as The above says, the zone calms down some, do so. As for initiate quests, I dont support em Ide rather take my main and twink my LVL 1 out ... hell you dont lose your ***** all the way to 10 = )
RE: CRAP? Not really.
# Feb 26 2003 at 1:58 AM Rating: Good
While I certainly don't have anything against twinking, I also don't agree with your post. Most of the newbie quest armor I have seen is actually pretty decent for the lower levels. I like to do the newbie quests, as it gives some purpose to the otherwise mindless killing of monsters in newbie zones.

Of course, a few nice items from my main helps a bit too, but twinking isnt all the game is about.

I have to agree, in SOME cases.
The Gnome Caster final task book is great, as is the Dark Elf Necromancer final task item. Vice-versa, however, the DE Caster and Gnome Necro items leave a lot to be desired.

I will be interested to see how the Froglok newbie armor(s) measure up to these heavy-hitters compared to the weaker items gained by other newbie quests.
Pristine Moccasin Scales
# Feb 25 2003 at 11:31 PM Rating: Decent
I've killed dozens upon dozens of both water and giant moccasins and I've yet to see any pristine scales drop, nor have I found anyone that has themselves looted one.

They're the last pieces I need for my BP, and my BP is the last piece of armor I need to quest for.

I have found one set for sale so far. Bought it up of course. I make sure to check the vendors everytime I log on to include all the scribes. You never know when someone sold it to someone else. :)
Ha !

Not going to attempt any quests until the population in Gukta and Innothule get down to atleast 30... Both zones had 100+ people in them. Couldn't find anything to kill, but atleast I have my frog! )
RE: Ha !

Hm, the server I play on (Quellious) there are rarely more than 5 people in Gukta at any given time. Guess it all depends on your server.
