You say, 'Hail, Shin Supplier Nugrud'

Shin Supplier Nugrud says 'You there, listen up. Though the battle for the Outpost of Marr was won, there is much work to do before we can rest. We must rid the swamps of Innoruuk's foul influence. Trolls still lurk in every shadow, and endanger our existence. It is my job to see that we can beat them back. However, we seem to have run into a bit of a [problem].'

You say, 'What problem?'

Shin Supplier Nugrud says 'Problem indeed. If you had not noticed, our supplies are growing thin. The militia is in desperate need of weaponry to equip our recruits. I would fetch some myself, but I am too busy here to leave my post. This is where you come in. Acquire a rusty dagger, mace, spear, and axe. If you return them to me, our smiths will then reforge them into passable weapons.'

Shin Supplier Nugrud flips through several pages of an inventory ledger. He shakes his head and the corners of his mouth curl downward to form a miserable frown. 'Blast! We are long overdue to receive another shipment of weapons. I cannot send our people into battle armed only with moss-covered stones and harsh words.'

Hand him the 4 rusty weapons.

Shin Supplier Nugrud takes a few moments to examine the wares you brought, before speaking, 'Splendid. This is exactly what we need. Our smiths will sharpen and polish these for use in battle, posthaste. You have done fine work to further our cause.'

You gain experience!!

Does this quest still exist after the trolls took over Grobb once again? If so, we need confirmation and the /loc of Shin Supplier Nugrud, who's currently whiling away the hours in the Mob Graveyard.

I've been all over the refugee tent city in the Mountains of Rathe looking for Nugurd on several occasions. Apparently, he did not survive the battle with the trolls or perhaps he perished of a broken heart on the long trek from Grobb to the Mountians of Rathe.

Fare thee well Nugurd...you fussy old frog.
Great for making money

What you can do it get one and use it to tote the weapons around with the WR when you get the second and 3rd set put it in another bag and goto the bazaar and give the bag to the Coin/bag lady and you sell the coins to make something from nothing really you can also bind at the guy to do it faster. Great to fill up trader bags

Great quest. This is a great bag for a new player. It has also been suppling my money need nicely. I have been selling for 100p. Nice profit margin in my opinion.

Lucy shows it as tradeable still.

You probably have a no drop item inside it, that makes the container show no drop as well.
Watch the weight
# Jan 07 2004 at 2:58 AM Rating: Decent

As it weighs 3.5wt more than a backpack that means that unless you are carrying 18 wt of items in it then you are actually doing *worse*.

Put it another way, if you spend 30 minutes filling it with 20wt of items then spend 5 minutes taking it to a vendor to sell the items you would have been a *lot* better off using a normal backpack as it has been heavier for 30 minutes and marginally lighter for 5.

Unless you *always* walk around with items weighing at least 20wt packed away then you might want to think twice about how useful this item is. Maybe if your normal weapons are big two handed type things weighing 10wt each and you carry around extra ones for different situations.

I am not saying it is not worth having, just do the maths first. Personally the maths seems to be indicating that *I* would just be lugging around up to 3.5wt of unnecessary extra weight 95% of the time but your milage may vary, especially if your favourite ranged weapon is throwing rocks :)

Right after someone sold one to a troll for 200p it reminded me I could do the quest, woodelf rogue, not too much strength. so in a matter of moments literally I bought all 4 weapons. 3 off the vendor out front and handed them in. Its sick, its a great item, I have 2/4 weapons in my bank again incase I come accross the items in my hunting. and I will sell the one i have (I suppose because evil races cant do the quest there is some market for them)

The other thing is you might say a twink would buy instead of hunt. Thats not so, you might sell 3 rusty items you dont need to buy the one you do.

Rusty dagger (they can also be fished up)
Rusty mace (NOT flail or morning star, zombies)
Rusty spear (NOT shortened spear, which is way more common, skelle and mantracker mushroom guys)
Rusty Axe (Skelle drop em i think)

Rusty Weapons in the swamp

I did the quest by killing the mobs in the swamp instead of buying the weapons. (I have an untwinked froglok shamnan character on the new MS server and no money!). Was tougher than I thought it would be. Finding the mace, dagger, and axe was relatively easy in the newbie area south of the POK portal. The fungus trackers and the zombies dropped the rusty weapons. Never did see the spear but traded a second mace for it!

Great quest for a weight reduction bag.
Very very cool

This is a fantastic quest. Fast, simple, cheap and the satchel is a great backpack to have because of the weight reduction. Don't leave Gukta without it.

I did this quest and handed in the rusty weapons named exactly as they were requested by this NPC. I also handed them to him in the order he requested them. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I got my bag and experice.

I did this with my lvl 60 Druid and my lvl 5 Froggie. Worked for me.

I can't imagine anyone having trouble finding rusty weapons, but if you check the wares of Zok Huoo you may have the same question as I do about the holes in the story. Still a nice little quest.

I agree, this is an amazing quest for anyone who wants another WR bag even if it is only 20%. Besides, think back to your first character. How long was it before you had any WR better than a Handmade Backpack?

Great for level 1, great for level 50. No doubt about it.
This has a reward

This quest actually gives you an 8 slot 20% weight reduction bag called Nugrud's satchel. The trick to this is the weapons have to be the exact name he asks for, he needs 4 weapons.

Rusty Dagger
Rusty Spear
Rusty Mace (not a rusty flail)
Rusty axe ( Rusty battle axe wont work)

Got me one :)
It's lore, sadly...Wt of it is 6.5...but it is 20% wt reduction like was said. Nice little bag for...can't say if it's worth the effort, though, as I happened to luck into buying the four rusty weapons from various vendors so turned them in for the bag.
Broken Quest?
# Feb 14 2003 at 11:08 AM Rating: Default
Hmmm I have tried this quest three times now and gotten nothing, no experience and no faction. I double (and then triple) checked to be sure I had the right rusty weapons (as there is a rusty battle axe, and also a rusty shortened spear). In any case, he takes the itmes, but does not say anything, nor does it post that I have received any experience.

On the Saryrn Server by the way...

However, if you are looking for faction, talk to Dar Collector Reokar. He tells you that he can always use fresh fish and rat parts. After giving him Fresh Fish (one at a time) he said what he could really use now was some severed rat ears of the large variety. After giving him Giant Rat Ears, he eventually said that what he would really like now is some bone fragments. Then I gave him bone chips until he once more told me he wanted fresh fish. Each item he received resulted in positive faction with the Frogloks of Gukta, and also some experience (though not a lot). After one cycle of this I went from apprehensive to indifferent with them.

My two cents worth,

He is simply saying he is AWARE there is a 'Rusty shortened spear' and a 'rusty battle axe'

Rusty dagger (they can also be fished)
Rusty mace (not flail or morning star, zombies)
Rusty spear (not shortened spear, which is way more common, skelle and mantracker mushroom guys)
Rusty Axe (Skelle drop em)

No.

Tried this quest and its only XP. Since my wood elf druid was level 56, I really have no idea how much xp but you rapidly see the quest is not worth doing.
