You say, 'Hail, Argan Milek'

Argan Milek weakly extends his arms in an effort to ascertain your location, then clutches his eyes and screams, 'Who are you! Back away... leave me alone! Is my current suffering not enough?'

You say, 'What suffering?'

Argan Milek says 'Who are you? Are you here to aid me?'

You say, 'Yes, I am here to aid you.'

Argan Milek sobs, 'I am so relieved to hear those words! Please help me to escape this place. She has taken my sight and replaced it with loathsome visions of some distant prison. The Foul Mistress mocks the only thing I once felt a kinship to, my art. I cannot scrub these visions from my eyes. I fear that I will never be able to paint again. Can you save what is left of my memories? I can you restore my sight?'

Say "save what is left of his memories" and your raid group will be teleported to a tunnel for a typical wave series of attacks (need fight info).

After you kill "A Horrifying Vision," Argan Milek will spawn in spot it was in.

You say, 'Hail, Argan Milek'

Argan Milek says 'Friends, you have returned my vision! I wish that I could find the means to thank you enough! Friends, should Druzzil Ro choose the have us meet again on this chaotic canvas of time, I will make this up to you! I feel my body waking and I am quite ready to forget the image of this place. I have some [information] that may help you, and when you are ready, I will return your sight to you.'

You say, 'What information?'

Argan Milek says 'While I was blind Druzzil Ro came to me in a vision. In this vision, she walked to the door of Saryrn's Citadel. When I set my gaze upon the door I began to make out some sort of picture. The inscription on the door seemed to shift and change, as if it were fluid. At one point, I was able to make out several distinct shapes. These shapes depicted one of those things with the four mouths spitting out four other similar creatures. I think that the things with four mouths are the key to the door. It was then that I asked Druzzil Ro about [Saryrn].'

You say, 'What about Saryrn?'

Argan Milek says 'Druzzil Ro told me that Saryrn formed this place from her own tortured will. Saryrn was insane as a mortal and found some means of transforming that insanity into something more. Many of the entities that you will find in this place are voices that came to her during the inception of her madness. They will be the key to dissolving her power. Seek out the Avatars of this realm to move into her tower. Now, I must leave. Are you [ready to return]?'

You say, 'I am ready to return.'

You are teleported to the graveyard in the Plane of Torment.

Need fight info, real dialogues (from logs, not retyped), rewards, etc.

There are not waves of attacks. There are just various shadow mobs that you can kill on the way to the boss. The final boss has approximately 89k. On a level 70 35 hagi/hsta 1300+ AC paladin, his max hit was 510 and he hit 36% (for the short time he was alive).

He cast Taste of Death and Web of Chain.

There is 16 Shadows (inivs mobs) that hit for up to 550 tops... usally 150 - 300. They pop when you walk into thier holding spots (corners of the 2 rooms, at the centers, plus 2 pop near each set of stairs, and 2 more near named) . I am not sure if you "need" to kill them or not. As the Named is up whole time.. they may swarm. All are slowable, snareable, dotable, nukeable, ect. Like reg mobs really, only that they Enrage at 10%, none cast. The "A Horrifying Vision" hits in the mid 600's he flurrys too. The Spider Illusion it casts is a DoT / Root. It's slaped on who ever has agro atm, he casts it more then once, he also dispells buffs alot. A Horrifying Vision is slowable, snareable, ect. One groupable at lvl 65. I tanked him with a good cleric at lvl 64 with only 5.5k hp. Don't expect much of a reward, other then satifaction, and Saryn Tower Key info.
After you kill A Horrifying Vision, Argan pops into the room and if you follow his text he'll give you hints to Saryn's Key and port you to the Torment Grave Yard. There is no time limit and if a Necro FD's in time on a wipe to res. the Cleric you can retry the A Horrifying Vision till it's dead, without starting over. Good Luck =)

"There is no time limit and if a Necro FD's in time on wipe to res. the Cleric you can retry the A Horrifying Vision till its dead, without starting over."

That's exactly what I did when we wiped on the first attempt due to the named resisting slow too many times :). Nothing seemed to respawn in the time we spent rezzing and rebuffing for the second attempt, and he went down easily once slowed.

Not much in the way of rewards from the quest, but it gave decent XP and it was a nice change from a stationary camp outside in the zone. Probably try to do it every time I'm in Torment just for the XP and fun factor.

I was in that group with you =) I still think there is more to the quest then what we have done, though. I have emailed Allakhazam the rest of the NPC chatter in hopes it will spark a thought from someone else. Hope to see you in game again and maybe we can take this quest farther. Good Hunting to you.

edit : Say "save what is left of his memories" and your raid group will be teleported to a tunnel for a typical wave series of attacks.

You need to say "I will save what is left of your memories" to be teleported. Also it's not "waves" You can easly control the tempo, the mobs will not pop till you get there.. kinda like a Hedge run with out a NPC to keep alive, and only 1 mob at a time. Not at all like the waves in Exe. PoJ trail.

Xp is pretty good in this event, like 3% AAXP. Boss is not very hard, but Flurries a LOT, so be prepared. Can be slowed. Casts spider illusion on MT, we thought that was add at the beginning :D

It's true that exp is nice ... However that is most likely due to the fact that at this time and the time you posted above, Torment is a Exp "Hotzone". It will be till SOE rotates it to a new zone. So keep that in mind when headed to Torment at a diffent date. ( Hotzones and usally moved every major patch)
Question

Is this needed for progression into the elemental planes, or can it be skipped?

No flag, so I presume it can be skipped: I think it's just a way for the original people doing PoP to find out how to get keys to raid Saryn.
finished also
