Torm Wenrar is located (143, -698) on the third floor of Skyshrine, near the entrance to Wakening Lands.

You say, 'Hail, Torm Wenrar'

Torm Wenrar says 'Hail to you my friend ______! I am Torm Wenrar, proud warrior of the Draconic Loyalist Fellowship. The dragons and dragon-kin of Syshrine have need of capable warriors to aid in the war with the giants of Kael Drakkel. Do not consider this a sign of weakness, even the most powerful beings benefit from having friends and allies. The Giants too have many beings in their service, Ogres, Trolls, and unfortunately even Northmen like myself have been hired into the service of the Kromzek. These mercenaries must be put down, perhaps if enough of them are slain, other sell swords would be deterred from seeking the employment of the Kromzek. The dragon-kin have placed a [bounty] on the lives of the Kromzeks mercenaries, any aid you can provide to the Skyshrine would be well rewarded.'

You say, 'What bounty?'

Torm Wenrar says 'You shall be rewarded from Skyshrines treasure hordes for the Kromzek Mercenary Brooches of every three mercenaries in the Kromzeks employment you slay. If you manage to locate and slay the [mercenary captains], or the more [notorious mercenaries] the rewards will be greater.'

You say, 'What notorious mercenaries?'

Torm Wenrar says 'There is a bounty for the lives of four mercenaries that have become notorious killers of dragon-kin. Since these mercenaries are not adorned with personalized brooches like the mercenary captain, their heads must be returned to me as proof of their deaths. The four mercenaries can usually be found together hunting dragons and dragon-kin. The first of these despicable individuals is a human by the name of Julius Oresco, a warrior of great skill. Julius' dragon hunting band is composed of the Dwarf, Grenth Drakebane, the erudite, Sadeem Oujva, and the northman, Rontar O'Karn. Bring me the heads of the four notorious mercenaries and I shall reward you on behalf of the dragon-kin from the treasure hoards of Skyshrine.'

The mercenaries are located along the southern edge of Western Wastes:

Julius Oresko and Grenth Drakebane at /loc -4062, -2930, Rontar O'Karn and Sadeem Oujva are at /loc -3833, -1903.

On handing in the four heads:

Torm Wenrar says 'Congratulations on successfully eliminating this deadly band of murderous mercenaries. The nobles of Skyshrine will be pleased with your actions, as is the Draconic Loyalist Fellowship. Here is the bounty that has been promised for the lives of these notorious slayers of dragon-kin.'

Your faction standing with Claws of Veeshan has been adjusted by 20.
Your faction standing with Yelinak has been adjusted by 5.

Grenth Drakebane and Julius Oresco are at neg 4005, neg 2925. Rontar O'Karn and Sadeem Oujva are at neg 3831, neg 1918. Both sites are rocks in the plain near the water with a dragon corpse nearby.

Each drops their head. Grenth Drakebane also drops a Velium Morning Star and a Small Velium Kite Shield. Julius Oresco drops a Velium Two Handed Sword

No faction hits for the kills.

Torm Wenrar is on the third floor at pos 148, neg 692, pos 43. To reach him from front gate, turn left after entering gate, up the two flights of steps steps, and bear right up three more flights. At the tee after the steps, turn right three times and enter the door there.

Upon turn-in:
"Your faction standing with Claws of Veeshan could not possibly get any better.
Your faction standing with Yelinak got better.
Your faction standing with Kromzek could not possibly get any worse."

Why do these quests
# Jan 17 2005 at 11:35 AM Rating: Decent
I did the Captain Brooch quest only to find the reward is NO DROP. Useless for my level. And the shoulder items for this quest suck also. Especially for anyone high enough in level to complete this quest. So what's the point of even doing it?

Look at the date the quest was entered, "Tue Dec 10 11:21:49 2002"

This quest has been around for some time. Back when it was first released it was probably the bee's knees.

Does anyone know if I can do this at kindly? I don't feel like getting ally. I've spent like 2 or 3 hours a day in Kael murdering the **** out of everything. Killed Captain Bvellos 3 times and got some **** gear off him. Only thing I actually got that was good getting this faction up was a Rune Etched Icewurm Fang, which I immediately sold for 3k in bazaar. Anyway, just need to know if i have to get more faction or if I can do it at kindly, because the guy gives me the quest, so I should be able to do it right?

I was able to get this quest and do turn in somewhere into kindly. I never tried it before. The mobs are along the water on the left out of the tunnel. The casters don't like to be pulled to the tunnels. The right turn directions were right on, just don't forget how to get out lol.

Torm is not that hard to find. Zone in from the WL side, pass thru the portcullis, and go left. From there take every right hand turn available until you come to the first door on your left. He's in back right corner of room.
Easy For Druid

Killed all of the four mobs, solo, with my 59 druid today. There are two rocks near the zone to SG, one of them has Grenth and Julius Hiding behind it, and the other has Rontar and Sadeem. I started out by harmonying Grenth and pulling Julius. I was using the root DoT technique, which was going quite slow, when a Velium Hound agroed on me. However, that turned out to be a good thing; I charmed it and sicked it on Julius. With haste and a CH here and there, it made things go a lot faster and safer. Grenth had fewer HPs, but could nuke and heal. I used my lvl 5 Invoke Lightning spell to stun him if he tried to CH, which worked quite well. Rontar seemed to be the strongest (hit the hardest and had a lot of HPs) but he was still fairly easy. He didnt cast, and I had my bro (56 warrior) who was there to help take down his pet a little faster. Then finally, Sadeem. He was the hardest, as he nuked very hard. Just dont grab agro from your pet or get too close when charm wears off and you'll be fine. He had the least HPs, but took the most healing. All in all, it was quite easy to kill the four of them. Had a few close calls, but it's not too dangerous if you are not KoS with CoV. It also helps to have someone to scout for Ice Burrowers.
Killing the Four
# Aug 29 2003 at 12:25 AM Rating: Decent
From reading the description above, you know you must collect the heads of the four mercenaries. They are located in sets of two to the left as you enter the Western Wastes from Siren's Grotto. Each set is at a dragon corpse and each corpse has a large boulder next to it. It is at these two boulders that the two mercenaries stand.

The first set of mercenaries is the warrior and the cleric. Kill the warrior first, then the dwarf cleric. Harmony or pacify to divide them.

I soloed all these mobs with my 62 druid without too much difficulty. Of the four, the Cleric was by far the most difficult between the CH and constantly breaking/dispelling root and the large number of charm breaks. Keep all your targets snared at all times.

Once done with these two stand at the dragon corpse and look opposite of the way back to the SG zone. You will see another colorful dragon corpse in the distance and another boulder next to it. Here you will find the shaman and the wizard.

The shaman does keep a fairly strong pet and the wizard has a shield you will need to dispell. Contrary to some other posts, the wizard seemed to have nearly as many HP as the shaman.

All four of these mercenaries can be taken by a good solo/pet class around level 60. Just remember which class mercenary you are fighting from the beginning.

The only real difficulty I had was one of the worms pathed by me during the last kill. Remember these worms dispell and will ruin your party especially if you are soloing lol.

Good luck to you all.

The reason Rontar O'karn's pet is so strong is because its a warder and he's a beastlord not shaman. Shaman pets are transparent grey not solid white. As for the borrowers pathing if you pull the mobs towards the coast you shouldn't have a problem with them, since the closest one to shore paths thru the dragon corpses.
Warmly does work

Did this late July, and warmly works fine. Make sure he give you the names of the 4 mercs before you turn in. I also did the brooches quest to get from kindly to warmly , but still no idea on the purpose for the assignments in that quest,+ several giants...nice piece.

You absolutely have to be above Kindly in order for the quest to work. the guy is very close to the WL zoneline near the bank area.

Went to do qeust last night and bam he would not give me names. i turned in heads by accident without checking faction first, i assumed i was alirght with al the gaints i have killed. He took heads and gave nothing in return ohwell geuss i will jsuthave to kill again. Oh, and the 4 mobs are very easy to kill. Turning in giant military heads to try and get faction up is working as well.I really think you need to be ally with him

1) WARMLY is good enough. That is what I was, I got the quest, I got the pauldrons, I got happy feet!
2) None of the maps I could find had labels on them. I found TORM by wandering around aimlessly. The good news is that by hailing others, I found several quests, including faction quests, quests for the key to get out of the place and others.
3) If you find the secret door behind the altar, that is not the right spot. Both ways after the altar looked to lead into deep pits.
4) This +12 STR really helped me, as I have been losing STR whilst upgrading STA items.

as i said before a level 62 druid could easily solo all of these, except you might have trouble with the wizard...i would bring someone for more DPS, because if your gonna be tanking the druid is gonna have to heal.

You need high kindly to do the quest, you know you can do it when you ask Tom "What Notorious Mercenaries" and he gives you the 4 names, if he doesnt give you the 4 names than go kill more mercenaries. The Broach Quest gives you faction pretty fast. My Bard completed this at level 43. Had a druid help with getting the heads.

Full group?
# Jun 21 2003 at 1:19 PM Rating: Default
Full group of 50 to 55? A 55+ druid can solo all of these except for the wiz. All you need for the wizard one is a warrior, cleric, and some dps caster or rogue or something...

# May 07 2003 at 11:38 PM Rating: Decent
Torm is on the lower levels. If you go past the room with Lieutenant Milven and keep going, you get to a room where I think the bank is. I think it is the room just beyong that.

I did the four mercenaries with me and a 63 druid. I am a 62 warrior. The druid used a DC pet and we had no problems whatsoever.

I did this quest with warmly faction.
How do you get to Torm Wenrar?
# Mar 30 2003 at 11:03 AM Rating: Decent
Where is Torm Wenrar located and do you have to fight your way to him through skyshrine?
RE: How do you get to Torm Wenrar?
# Jun 21 2003 at 1:20 PM Rating: Default
lol to do this quest you need good faction. If you have the faction do the quest you would not have to fight anything to get to him, they will all be ur friends.
RE: How do you get to Torm Wenrar?
# Apr 09 2003 at 1:35 PM Rating: Excellent
If you fight your way to him, you won't have good enough faction to do the quest.
faction needed
# Mar 12 2003 at 10:00 AM Rating: Decent
not sure of the MINIMUM faction needed but did it w/ my Orge SK who is amiably and was DENIED!! =(
MQ'd it btw w/ my 60 druid charming a Brontotherium and buffing it up....had KEI but that should be a given. also, Harmony was used so i only battled one at a time.

ok factioned a lil and got SK to kindly w/ quest giver...STILL not enough...was denied. maybe its because he is orge but i just thought faction is faction...either its up or down (depending on how you work at it) -- oh well, time for ally

This is an incredibly easy quest, I took myself(59 warrior) my 60 druid friend, and my 61 mage friend to WW. We killed the first 3 mercs, the only problem we had was the occasional add. Then, we pulled the wiz. This was probably the hardest merc, but we still owned him. A great reward for the work invovled.
