This is the quest to gain entry to Drunder, Fortress of Zek. Giwin Mirakon is located in the first room at the entrance of the Factory in Plane of Innovation. To enter the Factory, someone must be flagged from killing Xanamech Nezmirthafen.

Giwin Mirakon tells you, 'How did you get in here? Hrmm no matter, you will be helping me now for I am a [great warrior] of Rallos Zek and I know you wish not to provoke my fury!'

You says, 'What great warrior?'

Giwin Mirakon tells you, 'Yeah, you heard me! You know that I must be important if Rallos himself has plucked me from battlefield to complete this [task]. Even though I serve my lord, I am desperate to return to my place on the eternal battlefield.'

You say, 'What task?'

Giwin Mirakon tells you, 'Ya, you see Rallos sent me here to contract the machines to work on a mana powered piece of machinery that could test all on the eternal battlefield. This weapon of ultimate destruction is taking quite a long time to be completed. You know.. If you were to go [test the machine] and it were to fail against you I could be on my way back to tell Rallos that it was defeated by mere mortals. Help me to get back to the battlefield and out of this rusted out junkheap.'

You say, 'I will test the machine.'

Giwin Mirakon tells you, 'Haha! I knew I sensed the warring spirit within you. Go through over there. Ignore those steam powered soldiers and their talk of perimeters. Go into the main construction area. You will know you are there when you see power carriers taking energy to power up the machine. If you can stop the energy carriers from releasing their energy the machine will activate to see what has happened. I shall come to check on you and take a full report when you have destroyed it it. Long live Rallos!'

You have received a character flag!

Kill the Manaetic Behemoth and you will be able to get flagged to enter Drunder, Fortress of Zek.

Be sure to hail Giwin Mirakon again after Behemoth dies for another flag. Giwin will spawn near behemoth's corpse.

You say, 'Hail, Giwin Mirakon'

Giwin Mirakon gives you a look of disbelief and then concern. 'You destroyed the machine?! You should come with me to the Plane of Tactics. Surely the Zeks will want to honor you in your warring spirit. I will go on ahead of you to prepare for your arrival. I believe that you can access the Plane through the portal that the weakli... Er tranquil have opened in the Plane of Tranquility. I anticipate our next meeting on the Battlefields of Zek!'

If you didn't hail (aka someone else starts the event), you can come back later, some other day or whatever Gwinn is back at his normal place in The Factory, and do the text like you're starting the event, to get that missing flag. You don't need to kill the Behomoth again if you hailed Gwinn after the Behomoth was killed at at earlier time.

I picked up on a MB raid and it was I success. I did hail the gnome at the end and receive the flag. However I still cannot get into tactics. I read something above about a pre-flag. Can I go and get the pre-flag, and get tactics access, or do I have to get the pre-flag, then do MB raid all over again? Thanks in advance for info.

That did the trick, I had a friend let me in the factory to get the pre-flag, then fixed memories. I was also able to talk to the dorf and get my AA. Thanks for the info =)

Hail Giwin Mirakon inside the factory, and say I will test the machine. You should get the pre-flag.

Then go see the seer in PoK, and have her "Unlock memories". Do this over and over until she starts giving you the message abotu your childhood.

This SHOULD fix things.
Spiders Spawn??
# Dec 11 2004 at 3:52 AM Rating: Decent
There was a post I read a few days ago somewhere that said the spiders no longer spawn after MB is dead, is that true, or do we need to plan for more after we take him out?

Oh, and thanks to xpanmanx for the Strat Guide...will prove helpful I'm sure!

The spiders spawn before you get there and after he is dead. Their spawning is automatic and it does not matter if MB is up or not.

Be sure to plan for the spiders to be headed for the MB room while you are trying to loot the corpse.

Manaetic Behemoth Strategy Guide
Seeq, The Rathe
Nov 2004

This event requires a nice, chunky tank, many mezzers and a lot of DPS. You'll need something like 36-42 (or more) PCs at an average level of 64 to successfully complete the script. Don't even attempt this event unless you can bring 4 or more strong mezzers to the party.

Before the event, all raid members should speak with Giwin Mirakon, on the PoI factory floor. They will receive a character flag for their troubles.

Fight through to the hallway outside MB's room. Once you're there, the only thing around will be some speedy little spiders (Power Carriers). Don't waste any time on them just yet. They aren't KOS and they aren't social.

IMPORTANT!! WHEN THE SPIDERS REACH MB, EACH DETONATES WITH A 4K AoE DD THAT BLANKETS THE ENTIRE ROOM. This occurs 24/7/365, raid or no raid. Watch yourselves and do not enter MBs room for any reason until - and if - you are told to do so.

Designate 4 spider groups, and assign one to each corner of the hallway surrounding MB's room. Each spider group needs to include a mezzer (perhaps 2 is better) and a healer. It is best if the mezzers can spam AoE mezz the spider spawns for 10 solid minutes. Also: design each spider group as you would a self-sufficient XP group. A spider group has to be able to maintain its corner without any outside assistance.

The ranged-DPS and healer lines should group tightly, just outside the door to MB's room. They will never enter the room, but will cast through the door and/or walls.

The MT should be pre-positioned at the door to MB's room.

Melee classes should stand to the side of the door, out of the way of the casters and healers.

At the RL's signal, the spider groups should start attacking their targets. A good spider group will be able to rend their level 45-ish targets in under 20 seconds. NONE MUST PASS. ALL MUST DIE. The intent here is to completely stop the flow of spiders into MB's room, and keep it that way until MB has been slain and looted, and further until the resultant quest Gnome has been FD-pulled outside of MB's room. Gotta keep those 4k AoE DDs under control, at all costs! This is where the extra mezzers in the spider groups really pay off. Stay frosty! Once the main attack begins, the spider groups cannot afford to let even one of those things get by or the raid will wipe, nine out of ten times.

It makes for a long night for the spider groups. This is not so much a "kill the MB" raid as it is a "manage the damn spiders" raid. ;->

After a few minutes, MB will wake up in a bad mood (become targetable), because of the interruption in the spider conga line.

The MT can now engage MB. MB casts spells that include force-push, so it is best if the MT positions himself against a wall.

Make sure that the healers can see the MT through the door. Hold the door open as necessary.

Sending a Bard in alongside the MT can be discouraging, because MB casts an AoE Silence spell that interferes with Bard songs.

The healers should use blast heals and AoE heals, as opposed to a big heal chain, because the typical fight against MB doesn't last long enough to get a heal chain up to speed.

After the MT beats MB down to 95% health, all of the MB ranged-DPS and melee should "killswitch-engage," and take that clown down really really fast. The faster you drop MB, the faster you can stop worrying about all those damn spiders.

At this point, all of the DPS classes in the spider groups should bum-rush into MB's room, into battle alongside the main raid force. CASTER PET CLASSES MUST BE VERY VERY CAREFUL NOT TO AGGRO MB TO THE CASTER AND HEALER LINES. Did I mention that MB summons?

HERE'S THE VERY IMPORTANT PART!!! The mezzers in the hallway corners must do whatever it takes to keep all of the spawns frozen in place. This sounds easy, but is truthfully quite challenging even for very experienced players. The mezzers' ability to stay focused on their task is what makes or breaks the raid. If just one spider gets into the room and pops, his 4k AoE will stack with whatever crap MB is slinging about and BOOM!! t-t-t-that's all, folks.

ALMOST AS IMPORTANT!!! After MB falls, the corner mezzers must remember to KEEP GOING! Keep holding all spiders in place. Just a little longer, gang...

Send an FD or mem blur puller into MBs room to publish the no-drop loot and collect any droppable items. EVERYBODY WATCH FOR SNEAKY SPIDERS.

Then the looter should attack and FD-pull the spawned Gnome back into the hallway, a little away from the door for safety's sake, while the no-drop loot is assigned and claimed.

Once everyone is clear of MB's room...finally...the corner mezzers can rejoin the raid party. /cheer mezzers

Everybody can begin to swarm the Gnome as soon as he's pulled from MB's room, and hail him for their Tactics flag. As many as 72 folks have to get through the script before he depops, so work fast. You've got at least 15 minutes.

Any spiders that break mezz during this time and foolishly aggro the raid party can be dealt with accordingly.

Back in PoK, everyone in the raid party should visit Gram Dunnar to get their free I-Just-Got-a-Flag AA point.

(FYI - MB is a 3.5 hour reset. So if you wipe you will have plenty of time for rezzes and rebuffs. Also note that he is a 3-day respawn, so if someone barges in on your rotation it may be awhile before you can try again.)

Why you aren't getting an AA
# May 08 2004 at 2:07 PM Rating: Decent
For all of you wondering why you aren't getting the AA, before you get any of that, you have to zone into the zone with your flag. That's the general thing for getting an AA for a flag. When you do this you also will get your charm stats.
RE: Why you aren't getting an AA

You won't get an AA if you have gotten PoTa keyed from the diaku medallion quest as well

Sorry, but you´re absolutely wrong. You´re get the AA-Point if you do the Diaku-Quest to get the PoTactics access.

What he was saying is:

If you have previously done the daiku emblem quest, and gotten experience access to PoTac, you DID get an AA and charm stats, AT THAT TIME. However, qwhen you do the Behemoth, and get full planar progression access to PoTac, you DO NOT get a SECOND AA or additional stats, since you are already flagged for PoTac.

Ok. Guild killed behemouth on raid. Afterwards I joined raid Hailed and received a character flag.
Then I left, went back into the factory and set pre-flag with Giwin Mirakon and received another character flag. Aren't I supposed to get an upgrade on my charm and an AA?
I went and talked to the little guy in PoK and even sat down with the meditation chick.
Went as far as trying to get into Tactics and nothing.
Did I royally ***** up? Or am I missing a step?

Do you have a PoJ trial yet? If not you need one first before you can get the other flags to count for AA"s and charm improvements.
RE: Bass Ackwrds this do I Did
# May 07 2004 at 4:17 AM Rating: Decent
Not quite true - you only need the PoJ trials first to get the BoT / HoH lines working- the PoI one is a seperate line.

Original poster needs to go back to the seer and say "unlock my memories" until he gets the "childhood memories line".

Just did a pick-up raid here and we succeeded in destroying the behemoth. Unfortunately, in the aftermath everyone was too concerned with rolling for loot that most of us ended up getting killed and not rezzed in time to hail the Gnome. Also, the boss loot (priest FT thingy) ended up rotting, serves them right...

However, the question is: Since I have the pre-flag and have destroyed the behemoth, can I just hail the Gnome at a later date to complete the quest or do I have to do the whole thing again?

If I can omit the fight, is it possible to reach the Gnome solo or in a small group?

Btw, I was on CC duty and I can recommend using Rathes's Son (Earth Pet), it helped kept the spiders well under control.

Nope, sorry. You killed the Behemoth and all you 'll probably get is raid XP. You dont get any flags until you hail the gnome that spawns after the Behemoth dies. You're SOL until the next Behemoth killing.

We have killed MB many times with our guild and all of us have been through the complete procedure with preflag / kill / post flag. It seems that a certain number of us were not flagged for some reason and it does not show up with the Seer.

Yes we've tried the Seer many times and have talked to a GM (no help). We are going to try killing him again today and going through the complete procedure AGAIN and see if it fixes it

As of June 7th the flagging quest is working fine, we took him down on Quellious. When you preflag you must say "I will test the machine" in order to get your preflag. Then hail the gnome after the fight to receive your Tactics flag, and go to PoK for your AA pt. Good luck!!

Having a similar problem here .... My 'chanter was, though too low a level to be of much assistance to the raid, was in the raid nonetheless. After the fight, he went up and hailed the gnome, and received a message saying he'd received a character flag. However, the dwarf in PoK seems to have heard that story before. Something I'm missing?

RE: how long between spawns

MB spawns again 3 days +/- 8 hours after he is killed. This means if he was killed Monday at midnight, he would not spawn again until as early as Wednesday at 4 pm or as late as Thursday at 8 am.

He despawns after a failed attempt.

Respawn rate after failure is the same as above.

Anyone who can enter PoI (46+) can get the flag, yes. However, realistically, if you take part in the main Behemoth fight, you'd have to be 60+ to survive. Heck, on our last few raids, even most of the level 65's got floored by the AE's and damage effects that happen during the fight.

Behemoth Raid

21 posts
Since this seems a bit unclear, I will give some tactics. First, realize that the MB is the most difficult of the tier one bossess to kill. This engagement is by no means an easy one...though this is usually due to the fact that after the MB is killed, things can often go sour with too many seeking there flag or being concerned about the loot.
The Manaetic Behemoth (MB)is located in a room with 2 doors. This room is surrounded by one huge square passage. In each of the corners of this passage (the corners of the square passage around the MB's room) is where you need to set up a group to contain the spiders. In other words, you need FOUR containment groups to hold back the spiders from entering the MB's room and exploding. It is HIGHLY suggested to have as many enchanters as possible for this raid, having at least one in each corner.
Prior to having the groups set up in each corner...NO ONE is to engage a spider. Just leave the bloody things alone. In pick up raids, it is inevitable that someone will attack one for some odd reason, do NOT heal that person or assist that person...just rez. Just outside of the four corners are big tubes in the floor with light streaming out of it. This is where spiders pour out of. The waves start of small, but begin to quicken with more spiders as you go. Just hit with snares as they leave the holes and proceed towards your corner. Chanters mez extra spiders if possible. Kill them, rinse and repeat...for 10 minutes.
During this ten minutes, you will have people asking what the hell is going on because no matter what, many will not of listened to the pre-instructions about the ten minutes. Spam that it takes ten minutes of containing spiders prior to MB being targetable. Once MB is targetable, kill the bloody thing...not so easy, and some nasty surprises in killing him such as silence. During his engagement, each corner must keep containing the spiders. IF any get through they will wipe the raid force on MB, and thus no flag.
Once MB is down, it is HIGHLY important that your corners know that they are too keep containing the spider. Send the MB force out to the corners to shore them up and do any rezzes needed. As soon as containment is assured, have each corner peel off a certain number to go back and hail the gnomer for the flag and go right back to the corner. If strict control is not kept during this stage, you will die, you will lose the flag mob,you will hear lots of moaning and crying over the raid being all screwed up and blaming it on whoever led even though its some stupid players that leave their corners fault.

Thats all

What if you left your first spell slot empty for this guys dot to go in, and gave everyone some pumice to dispell it, or even put a druid or a shammy in every group that hadc innate cure, atleast you could atleast they could cure the dot once and give your dps a few extra minutes to attack. Just an idea. aside from that you would need 2 cerics in each group to keep people alive.
but then theres always zerg

the Bosses ae is a pb ae that is fire based with a 150 modifyer. that means to stand a chance of resisting it you will need 350-405 fire resistance. it is a 1-3 tick spell ( random) that does 900 points per tick . in otherwords it a fire lure dot ae . the mob casts it on his target( range200) and from the target it radiates out 100. it is castable by mob every 2 ticks

We attepmted this today, but ended up washing. We approached the problem with a 40 man raid group with an average level of 56. This seemed to be enough to keep the four groups of spiders from entereing the room, but we did not have enough people left over to defeat a level 70 mob in the main room.

Judging from a preliminary wipe, the AE is exatvly 4000 points, and judging by the fact that we had 12 poeple in the romo all with well over 200 in fire cold and magic saves I'm not even sure that your resists matter. We all got whacked for the full amount. Its possible that it is a Disease or other type of area effect, but the concensus on this site, and the text and graphic seem to indicate a fire based spell.

I do like one thing about this quest, it is VERY fast to setup. From the zone-in theres only about 5 total minutes worth of fights before the main encounter. Once you know where your going and what your plan is, you can easily set up and make an attempt at this in less than an hour, depending of course on the organizational skills of your particular guild.

Now that we have the basic plan in place, and a much better idea of the force neccesary, we are going to make another attempt on this. It is definatly a weekend raid. We made a mistake scheduleing our initail raid on a weekday, the numbers needed make this more suited to a weekend.

It is likely that your tanks along with everyone else was hit with a "sludge type" spell, i as a druid, was in the corner for contianment, and that spell reduced my run speed to equal to trying to go through a normal zone with 10k plat cash on me and less than 100 strength(try it yourself, it is slow....) even with sow, so the other people were essentially rooted if you didnt have sow, this spell, while doing no damage managed to kill off several people since the clerics couldnt catch up to the people fighting MB, and as the only one with sow had to use an MGB of SoE to free them, but it wasnt fast enough to save some people. Be warned and have the clerics sow/e'ed so they can save the tanks in the future
