Pre-Flag: Elder Poxbourne & Adroha Jezith

Find Elder Poxbourne and Adroha Jezith in the Plane of Tranquility, in the structure south of the one that contains the Plane of Knowledge book:

You say, 'Hail, Elder Poxbourne'

Adroha gives a soft sigh of woe, 'You won't be getting any response from Thelin. Ever since his injury he has been in a deep [coma] with no sign of ever recovering.'

Thelin tosses and turns violently on the floor, then is still.

Target Adroha Jezith and ask her about the coma:

You say, 'What coma?'

Adroha Jezith says 'My pity onto Thelin. His life on Norrath was a miserable one. As a young man he began to study the workings of fear inspired by Cazic-Thule. The workings had been translated for mortals by Zebuxoruk. Pouring over the texts, Thelin felt his mind being invaded by Cazic. This information was not for mortal usage and the malevolent god stripped him of all his earthly belongings and cursed him to live in [poverty and ruin].'

You say, 'What poverty and ruin?'

Adroha Jezith says 'Aye, he lived in the streets of Eastern Freeport, begging from those passing through the port. He sat quivering, propped up against a wall with one hand out as he watched the travelers pass by. None of them even gave him a second glance. Several years would pass before a female dwarf would arrive to trade some of her family's armor and weapons. She saw and took pity on Thelin. She knelt down, scratched her beard then began to rummage through her backpack. She then placed a [jeweled dagger] in his hand, smiled and returned to her former business.'

You say, 'What jeweled dagger?'

Adroha Jezith says 'This was the only gift that Thelin had received since the curse. It was beautifully crafted and would likely have fetched a handsome price upon the market. He decided to keep the dagger as it was such a kind gesture. Later that eve, Thelin heard the calling of others that studied Zebuxoruk's workings. He recognized the language they called out in. He approached the men and explained he had studied the writings of Zebuxoruk. One of the shaded figures then began to mutter an incantation. Suddenly, there was a bright flash, lush vegetation and a peaceful breeze surrounded them. They had ascended here, to the [Plane of Tranquility] where they could further study the works without interference from the gods and mortals alike.'

You say, 'The Plane of Tranquility?'

Adroha Jezith says 'Thelin enjoyed it here. He assisted the other followers by using all his mana to open a portal to the Plane of Nightmares, the demi-plane ruled by the child of The Faceless, Terris-Thule. Spent from using all his energies, he went to bed early after his victory had been achieved in this task. As he laid in bed, he looked over the dagger that had been given to him by the female dwarf. He smiled at the new peace he had found here and began to fall asleep. Drifting away into the realm of dreams, his subconscious was assulted by the horrors of a nightmare. He tossed and turned from the visions that came before him. So bad did he writhe in his subconscious torment that he turned on the dagger. He was critically injured, and let out a wrenching scream. We found him and were able to heal his wound enough to keep him alive. However, he still lies in a deep coma seemingly [tortured by nightmares].'

You say, 'Tortured by nightmares?'

Adroha Jezith tells you, 'It is our belief that Terris-Thule is punishing him for allowing entrance into her plane. She seems to have an exceedingly strong tie to him. Since her father has already punished him, she likely found that he was easily tormented by her own powers. Sometimes he talks while tossing and turning. We have taken note of everything he has said. He has said 'I accept your offer Terris-Thule', 'I must find the pieces', and 'It never ends'. You must help him. Go through the portal that he has helped to create. Try to find his planar projection in Terris' plane. Help him wake from this torment. Please, I beg you. I cannot stand to watch him suffer any longer.'

You have received a character flag!

The Hedge Event

Bring along three groups, making up 18 people (the maximum allowed in this event) and speak with Thelin Poxbourne who is located at the hedge near the zoneout across the river in the Plane of Nightmares.

If you hail him without the pre-flag:

Thelin Poxbourne screams loudly, and then falls asleep once again.

If you hail him with the pre-flag:

Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'Who is it? Are you.. really there? You are! Please I beg of you to help me escape from this horrid place. Terris Thule is holding me here, she delights in the nightmares she sends me. To further torture me, she has offered me a pact. She has said that if I can retrieve my [dagger], then I am free to go. She does this only because she knows that I cannot retrieve it on my own.'

You say, 'what dagger?'

Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'She has taken the only thing that has brought me any joy in my life. She took it and broke it into seven pieces. She placed them deep within the labyrinth of my nightmare. I must retrieve it, will you [help] me. Please I beg of your mercy.'

You say, 'I will help you'

Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'I do not know who you are, but I am thankful that you have stumbled upon me. I can bring you into my dream state, but my powers are limited so I can only handle eighteen at once. Please when you are prepared have the leader of each of your band of adventurers tell me they are ready.'

You say, 'I am ready'

Thelin Poxbourne says 'Thelin Poxbourne closes his eyes and falls asleep immediately. He looks peaceful for a moment and then screams in agony!'

You are ported into the Hedge Maze.

When ready to begin the event, speak with Thelin Poxbourne inside the maze.

You say, 'Hail, Thelin Poxbourne'

Thelin Poxbourne says 'Has everyone made it here safely? When you tell me I will seal off my dream and we can begin. We must be careful here, visions await around every turn. Are you ready to follow? I know where all the pieces of the dagger are, but I cannot collect them all on my own.'

You say, 'I am ready'

Thelin Poxbourne says 'Please stay close, I know not what horror Terris will unleash upon us.'

He leads you into a maze, with growing NPC encounters along the way. You must keep him (and yourselves) alive as NPCs spawn and attack. Along the way, he will pick up pieces of the dagger he spoke of:

Thelin Poxbourne kneels down and picks up a dagger hilt.
Thelin Poxbourne slowly picks up a shard of a dagger blade.
Thelin Poxbourne picks up a the top half of a dagger blade.
Thelin Poxbourne picks up a dagger handle with a small hole in it.
Thelin Poxbourne picks up a small gem to place inside the handle.
Thelin Poxbourne kneels down and picks up a dagger blade tip.

Once he gets to the center of the maze, the Construct of Nightmares spawns. It hits for a max ~1,150 (double attacks) and has a lot of hitpoints for its level. Kill it and loot the Dagger Blade Shard from its corpse, and give it to Thelin.

Thelin Poxbourne takes the final shard from you and places all of the pieces on the ground, with unseen hands the dagger moves together and fuses itself back together into one complete piece. Thelin picks it up and hands it to you.

Thelin Poxbourne says 'Terris hear me now! I have done as you have called for. My beloved dagger is whole once again! Come now keep up your part of the bargain.'

Terris Thule spawns:

Terris Thule says 'You fool! You did not earn this prize on your own! The contract that has been drawn is now invalid. You will never leave my grasp, prepare your soul for eternal torment!'

Terris Thule laughs heartily and then vanishes in a swirl of incorporeal mist.

Thelin Poxbourne says 'Vile wench, I knew in the end it would come to this. You shall pay dearly for your injustice here.'

Thelin Poxbourne says 'So then my hope is nearly lost. Take with you my dagger. Plunge it deep into her soulless heart. If I cannot escape from this plane under her rules, I shall make my own!'

Hail Thelin Poxbourne for the flag:

You say, 'Hail, Thelin Poxbourne'

Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'Please destroy her for all that have had to endure her hideous visions.' Thelin closes his eyes and is swept away from his nightmare. The land of pure thought begins to vanish from around you.

You have received a character flag!

This flags you for the zone "Lair of Terris Thule".

Whan you hand the dagger piece to Thelin after the final fight, he returns a completed Thelin's Dagger to you which is lore. Don't do what I did and stick it in the bank! Because if you do a Hedge run again and receive the no-drop dagger part from the dead boss
and you go to turn it into Thelin, since you already have a lore Thelin's Dagger in the bank, the quest mission cannot make you the dagger and you can't complete the second run!

Fortunately, we had a clever guy in our raid who advised me to just die (to one of the remaining mobs), respawn at my bind, go to the bank to destroy the banked Thelin's Dagger and get rezzed back into the mission. Because you can't get ported out and return, and remember no CoH in this zone. That saved the day and we were able to complete the mission.

I'm destroying the new Thelin's Dagger now. Lesson learned is don't save useless stuff in your bank!

I was afraid it might be broken, but I can't think if any changes to Progress/Tranquility/Nightmares/Torment that cause that.

Still looks more like classic quests where you have to determine the dialog and not just follow [prompts].
Helping Thelin might not start with Thelin. The room is well occupied, I talked to each of the pairs there.

Quote:
You say, 'Hail, Phanti Sacredsoul'
Phanti Sacredsoul moans and sweats.
Iramai Sacredsoul says 'Oh, hello. I am sorry, I did not see you approach. I have been giving all of my attention to poor [Phanti] here.'
Hailing either Phanti or Iramai will cause her to say that.

You say, 'What of Phanti?'
Iramai Sacredsoul says 'A few days ago Phanti started to get very ill, while she was preparing herself for another trip into [Saryrn's domain]. We are not sure exactly was caused her to fall into this malaise, although we do have our [suspicions].'
You say, 'What suspicions?'
Iramai Sacredsoul says 'Recently, the portal from the Plane of Disease has been unusually active. People have been reporting strange sounds from around the portal at night, and a few of our trackers have seen strange, almost rodent like, footprints. Our best guess is that one of the denizens of the Plane of Disease managed to make its way into our plane. If this is true, it may explain the unnaturally quick manifestation of the disease. Perhaps, the bile from one of the rodents will help us learn of the cause, and hopefully a cure.'
You say, 'What of Saryrn's domain?'
Iramai Sacredsoul says 'Torment, the Plane of Pain. She was doing some research on the denizens there, should you [help] us, I could grant you and your companions entry. The key will not do Phanti any good for quite some time.'
You say, 'help'
Nothing.
You say, 'I will help you.'
Same response as for suspicions.
That's for Torment.

Quote:
You say, 'Hail, Tylis Newleaf'
Tylis Newleaf lies on the floor still quivering in pain. You notice the concern that Fahlia is showing for him.

You say, 'Hail, Fahlia Shadyglade'
Fahlia Shadyglade tells you, 'Greetings travelers. Please excuse me but I must attend to Tylis for his condition does not improve.'
You say, 'What condition?'
Fahlia Shadyglade tells you, 'I understand that you are passionate to our cause, I have heard that you have removed the curse that befouled Milyk Fuirstel. You may be powerful enough to enter into the domain of Saryrn, but before I can ask you to help Tylis perhaps you should help one that is in more dire need. You should talk to Adroha, her patient has been in a coma for quite some time now. Maybe you can help him as you have Milyk.'
More for Torment. She did mention of a coma...

Quote:
You say, 'Hail, Elder Poxbourne'
Thelin tosses and turns violently on the floor, then is still.

You say, 'Hail, Adroha Jezith'
Adroha dabs Thelin's forehead with a cold towel and looks up to you, her gentle features veiled in concern. Her voice is gentle and sweet in its hushed tones as she gently returns to your greetings, 'Poor, poor Thelin. I wonder if he will ever recover from opening the portal to the Nightmare plane. I hope he will recover. That seems to be all we have right now, hope. Perhaps you should move along, traveler, and leave the suffering elders to their rest.'

You say, 'What portal?'
Adroha Jezith says 'The portal lies just outside of this building. It was to be a small dwelling in which the elders could try to understand the nature of Terris-Thule without her direct harm. However when she connected with Thelin the structure began to deteriorate, and none of us dared interfere with it.'
... and that's as far as I get, so I will carry on from here as if she also mentions the [coma] of which Fahlia spoke.

If she doesn't give you the coma prompt when you hail her, simply say to her, "What coma" as if she did and she'll do the rest of the quest dialog from there. Once you finish the dialog with her you'll get a flag for the Hedge Maze portion.

Temperance has almost all of Planes of Power completed and is now running Okiru through the Planes for something to do.
When Okiru tries to start this Tier 1 progression for Plane of Nightmares he gets nothing. As a Tier 1 zone there is no pre-requisite and should be allowed to begin.

Did you try saying "What coma?" as others have reported it working properly without getting the prompting emote from the Hail. See post at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=2219&post=1&replyto=1412938395272684524&p=1#m136130689524002288

Take someone to memblur him, used to be a good guideline for doing this. He's always seem to be bugged sometimes, and if not, when it was raids doing this, inevitably someone would AE or mis-target him, or something. Seems like he bugs out alot there at the end, or that's the way I remember it. Been years since I done this event, especially regularly.

Missing Text

This quest is supposed to begin by hailing Elder Poxbourne, but I believe it is broken.

I found [a very old log entry] that gives it:
Quote:

Target Elder Poxbourne
[Mon Nov 25 02:19:21 2002] You say, 'Hail, Elder Poxbourne'

Adroha gives a soft sigh of woe, 'You won't be getting any response from Thelin. Ever since his injury he has been in a deep [coma] with no sign of ever recovering.'

Thelin tosses and turns violently on the floor, then is still.

I could not get Adroha to give me this text upon hailing Elder Poxbourne, so I think the script is broken. I did verify that the text is valid as the trigger phrase worked for me:

[Mon Feb 18 22:18:43 2013] You say, 'what coma'
[Mon Feb 18 22:18:44 2013] Adroha Jezith says 'My pity onto Thelin.

The rest of the text is the same as what is listed already.

When you talk to Thelin in Plane of Nightmares without the Pre-Flag:

[Wed Feb 13 16:00:04 2013] Thelin Poxbourne screams loudly, and then falls asleep once again.

When you talk to Thelin in Plane of Nightmares with the Pre-Flag:

[Mon Feb 18 21:45:44 2013] Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'Who is it? Are you.. really there?
[Mon Feb 18 21:46:10 2013] You say, 'what dagger?'
[Mon Feb 18 21:46:11 2013] Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'She has taken the only thing that has brought me any joy in my life. She took it and broke it into seven pieces. She placed them deep within the labyrinth of my nightmare. I must retrieve it, will you [help] me. Please I beg of your mercy.'
[Mon Feb 18 21:46:27 2013] You say, 'I will help you'
[Mon Feb 18 21:46:28 2013] Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'I do not know who you are, but I am thankful that you have stumbled upon me. I can bring you into my dream state, but my powers are limited so I can only handle eighteen at once. Please when you are prepared have the leader of each of your band of adventurers tell me they are ready.'
[Mon Feb 18 21:46:41 2013] You say, 'I am ready'
[Mon Feb 18 21:46:42 2013] Thelin Poxbourne says 'Thelin Poxbourne closes his eyes and falls asleep immediately. He looks peaceful for a moment and then screams in agony!'

You are ported into the Hedge Maze.

When you hail Thelin inside the Hedge Maze:

[Mon Feb 18 21:46:55 2013] Thelin Poxbourne says 'Has everyone made it here safely? When you tell me I will seal off my dream and we can begin. We must be careful here, visions await around every turn. Are you ready to follow? I know where all the pieces of the dagger are, but I cannot collect them all on my own.'
[Mon Feb 18 21:47:24 2013] You say, 'I am ready'
[Mon Feb 18 21:47:24 2013] Thelin Poxbourne says 'Please stay close, I know not what horror Terris will unleash upon us.'

Thelin beings walking around. He picks up 6 pieces of his dagger:

[Mon Feb 18 21:52:35 2013] Thelin Poxbourne kneels down and picks up a dagger hilt.
[Mon Feb 18 21:56:10 2013] Thelin Poxbourne slowly picks up a shard of a dagger blade.
[Mon Feb 18 21:58:00 2013] Thelin Poxbourne picks up a the top half of a dagger blade.
[Mon Feb 18 22:02:06 2013] Thelin Poxbourne picks up a dagger handle with a small hole in it.
[Mon Feb 18 22:04:32 2013] Thelin Poxbourne picks up a small gem to place inside the handle.
[Mon Feb 18 22:07:39 2013] Thelin Poxbourne kneels down and picks up a dagger blade tip.

When he reaches the center of the maze, a construct of nightmares spawns. Kill it and loot Dagger Blade Shard. Hand it to Thelin:

[Mon Feb 18 22:10:39 2013] Thelin Poxbourne takes the final shard from you and places all of the pieces on the ground, with unseen hands the dagger moves together and fuses itself back together into one complete piece. Thelin picks it up and hands it to you.
[Mon Feb 18 22:10:50 2013] Thelin Poxbourne says 'Terris hear me now! I have done as you have called for. My beloved dagger is whole once again! Come now keep up your part of the bargain.'

Terris Thule spawns unattackable:

[Mon Feb 18 22:10:50 2013] Terris Thule says 'You fool! You did not earn this prize on your own! The contract that has been drawn is now invalid. You will never leave my grasp, prepare your soul for eternal torment!'
[Mon Feb 18 22:10:56 2013] Terris Thule laughs heartily and then vanishes in a swirl of incorporeal mist.
[Mon Feb 18 22:10:56 2013] Thelin Poxbourne says 'Vile wench, I knew in the end it would come to this. You shall pay dearly for your injustice here.'
[Mon Feb 18 22:11:03 2013] Thelin Poxbourne says 'So then my hope is nearly lost. Take with you my dagger. Plunge it deep into her soulless heart. If I cannot escape from this plane under her rules, I shall make my own!'

Hail Thelin Poxbourne:

[Mon Feb 18 22:11:15 2013] Thelin Poxbourne tells you, 'Please destroy her for all that have had to endure her hideous visions.' Thelin closes his eyes and is swept away from his nightmare. The land of pure thought begins to vanish from around you.

At the end of the hedge event where you hail Thelin for the flag, he ports you out with the spell Waking Moment. This is a detrimental spell and will cause your pet to attack him. So --- everyone needs to KILL YOUR PET before you hail him.

Oh, and at the start of the event, only group leaders should say "I am ready". If more than one person in a group says it, it could count your group twice and bug the event and not allow the third group to enter.

Done Hedge with 70 cleric (Qvic geared) and 70 monk (Anguish geared, 2.0). Bit hectic sometimes, especially when 6 mobs pop and you need to keep them off Thelin as well as the cleric. Thelin got quite low on health a few times, but luckily he doesn't get low-health agro. He heals rapidly once agro is cleared.

Final mob, construct of nightmares, took over 15 minutes to kill.

Tips for Enchanters

Did this last night with my chanter and thought I'd throw in a couple tips that I figured out as we went along.

Use DAZZLE on Thelin and cast as soon as creatures show up. You can basically use Dazzle to keep him from moving for a long time if you need to rez or people need to med. Do not let Thelin cast at all if you can help it. Use MEMORY FLUX when you are ready to move again and /CON to see if it took.

Use APATHY or higher on everything else. Rapture works, but the refresh on it causes trouble.

When you begin to run low on mana, Dazzle Thelin and use Theft of Thought and Scryer's Trespass. Scryer's will wear off before Dazzle does if you cast it shortly after mezzing. Mem blur again til he cons indifferent and you're good to go again with a bit more mana than you started with.

When we got to the construct I just kept the birds mezzed with Apathy while another 60th chanter kept one mezzed with Rapture so I could throw in some nukes here and there.

Everyone in the raid must hail Thelin to get the flag after the turn in to him is done. Might have been said in another post here, but I didn't see it.

No COTH
# May 29 2004 at 11:55 PM Rating: Decent
Did this raid today and someone got left behind in the maze and couldn't find the rest of the group. Since they were in my group I figured I would just COTH them to me and they would be fine. I tried several times and I kept getting the message that said something like "you hear a voice telling you there are no heroes here" or something to that affect. Anyhow, it seems this is yet another place where COTH isn't allowed, so if someone gets lost or left behind they're going to have to find their own way to the rest of the raid party. Same thing with people getting stuck in the hedge, you can't just COTH them out of it. Thankfully with /rewind if people just be patient and stand still for the 30 seconds (which seems like an eternity I know) they can free themselves. Just an FYI for mages and any wanting a mage to COTH while inside the maze.

Did this on the 7th Hammer over the weekend. 15 people. Was quite easy.

One thing I would strongly suggest, using a chat channel and using the "/chat mod #" command so only the people you want to give commands can (you can give other people rights by "/chat voice name #")

When we started a few tag alongs decided they new better and started issuing commands and questioning the raid leader... took us an hour to do 10% of the maze while they were going on... eventually I got pissed off and gave them the old STFU or FO... and then the rest of the maze was done in 1 hour LOL.

The only real advice I can add to all the stuff below, is on the last wave having a cleric with the new GoD healing ward helps... just plant the ward in the center, and your clerics will still be close to FM when the wave is done. Also, off-tanking works alot better than mezzing.

Oh and with the wonderful new graphics engine, our tanks kept getting summoned to the walls and stuck there. The only deaths we had on the raid was the tanks who we had to /duel to kill so we could drag their corpses out of the the walls... lol.

Hedge Event Tips

The Hedge event is more time consuming than it is difficult. 2 or 3 decently balanced groups with reasonably good gear and raiding skills should have no troubles. That being said, here are a few tips:

Be sure you get your pre-flag in the sick bay area of Tranquility. Others have said how to go about this in the other posts here.

Once everyone is buffed up and ready to go, and inside the maze, have a chanter or two standing by with mezz. A nice way to make this event a lot more civilised is to mezz Thelin as soon as mobs pop near him. You can then quickly dispatch of those mobs... and take as much time after each fight as you require to med up, re-buff, or whatever.

When you are all set to go again, cast Apathy or some such on Thelin for as many times as it takes to start him walking again. I realise that this adds a lot of time to the event, but better too much time than not enough.

When you get to the end (fountain area), be ready for the final fight. There are mobs in the corners of that courtyard to deal with. Eventually, you will spawn the Construct of Nightmares. The only noteworthy thing to say about this mob (aside from how ugly he looks)is that he has oodles of hitpoints... someone said 400,000 and I would agree that it is at or near that amount. Just pace yourselves... he is not especially difficult if you just do the usual: manage your aggro, stay focused and have casters nuke from maximum distance. The Construct often drops Ethereal Parchments for your casters to roll on.

Turn in the dagger and hail Thelin to get your flag. You are all set to go after Terris-Thule the next time she is up. =)

Once you have your pre-flag, does that stay with you indefinitely or do you need to pre-flag again if you don't complete the raid right away? My raid was in the middle of the maze when the server went down, so we didn't complete the raid. Will I need to pre-flag again before beginning the maze again or is that character flag still going to be with me?
AOE Slow

Yar...
Just alil fyi I think you should all know that proved to work great. When alot of mobs would pop on our guide we would aoe slow and have the enchanters pick mobs of our shaman for mezzes, and our MT would do his thing and go around and kill all.
Well this made our enchanter's happy because they will not get aggro from aoe mezzes or reg singles.

I was in a pick up raid on Karana a few weeks back. Only 1 enchanter (myself) and 1 clerics. From everything I read about this event, I was expecting us to fail it. Well, to my suprise we succeeded with only one death.

This raid is doable with only 1 enchanter, although I would recommend 2 atleast. You do not have to mez Thelin like everyone says, just be sure to pull argo from any mob that starts attacking him. He actually ended up helping us with the damage he was doing on the mobs. We only keeped him perma mez'd when the Construct spawned.

Now, the problem came up that some people were still not able to zone into PoNb after we were done. Can someone post each character flag step in order so we can see if we missed one somewhere? Thx

To add to what Resrick said, you need to "unlock memories" whenever you have done flags out of order. Such as getting pre-flags after the mob has been killed.

I posted this a bit lower on this board, but here it is again:

If you talked to Adroha AFTER the maze and not before, you'll need to talk to the seer in PoK to synch your flags, as the above poster commented.

The seer is in the buiding in front and to the right of the Plane of Tranquility portal stone in PoK. You need to sit in front of her, hail her then say "guided meditation" and then "unlock my memories."

You should then have your flags set in the correct order to enter the Lair of Terris Thule.
Hedgemaze

Just completes Hedgemaze. A few notes on things:

if you use /raid like you should, ONLY leader needs to say "I am ready" and everyone must be close to Thelin when you say this to be ported in. If you port in and leave anyone behind they're out of the event.

If for whatever reason you fail, or dont get full group in, you can go back and restart right away, seems to be instanced similar to LDoN zones. You might not get the same maze tho.

Once Construct of nightmares spawns you can push him all over the maze, doesnt matter where he dies, just make sure Thelin is not near it.

Loot the NO DROP dagger part and hand it the Thelin, then everyone needs to hail him for port out. Pets WILL agro him when you port out, so make sure everyone is ready, but you can still hail him once agro'ed

The Construct did drop a Spectral Parchment, so don't run away before loot is dealt with.

We also got a sword, a bow, an eth parchment, and a dagger w/ Terris bane.

The maze mobs uncommonly (not rare really) drop gems and decent items. The wave mobs don't seem to have any loot.

We did the event with 16 people, heavy on nukes and hybrids, 2 clerics, 4 chanters. Someone is always gonna bite it on the later waves, just click them in durring battle.

CC is a MUST.

Also, keeping mobs off Thelin wasnt really hard, just agro him and run him away from mobs before mezzing him away from them.

Took better part of 2 and a half hours, so dont always assume it's going to be a 45 minute event (it can be tho)

Thats about it... was a good experiance for anyone who hasnt lead a raid, and feels confident to do so. 3 groups is a good amount to keep track of the first time.

The Waves
# Oct 28 2003 at 9:14 PM Rating: Decent
Once inside the maze Thelin will wander around. There are mobs that are already up in some "pocket rooms". There are 7 waves of mobs. They go from 1 mob to 2 mobs to 3 mobs and so on till the final wave of 7. After the last wave we will walk to the center of the maze.
Problem Zoning into PoNb
# Oct 16 2003 at 10:21 AM Rating: Decent
I did the hedge quest a long time ago on my cleric. I didn't preflag just went straight to hedge. I completed the quest and hailed the erudite (otherwise how would I have gotten out?) and received a character flag. Then I went to Adroha Jezith and talked to her and said'tortured by nightmares'and received another character flag. That went all well and good, but now I redid quest on my rogue. Again comepleted hedge walk and hailed the erudite, then went to talk to Adroha Jezith and said 'tortured by nightmares' and received another character flag. Problem is I went on a TT raid last night but according to EQ I was not flagged for PoNb. Luckily I was able to get in because of the 80% rule. I am just wondering if there was another person I was supposed to talk to now? or is it mandatory to preflag before you go into hedge? My cleric can zone in and out of PoNb and I am wondering why my rogue cant.

Since the patch that removed some of the flag requirements for access, you need to run to PoK and talk to the Seer, she's sitting down in the center building close to the nexus portal, continually spam her with "what guided meditation" and "unlock memories", when you continually see the same responses from her, you are done there. This should get you your PoNb flag for your Rogue. But no, it's not mandantory to preflag, I did the hedge run w/o preflagging and then went back and did the same as you but I also talked to the Seer afterwards and have no problems accessing LoTT now. Just make sure you are sitting down before you hail the Seer or she won't talk to you. Hope this helps.

You don't need to be sitting down, if you arent she tells you to "Sit down so I can help with your meditation" after you say [unlock memories] so its not real important to sit down first.

My guild did this on Friday, sucessfully on our first attempt. Average level was probably about 60. We were lucky and all 3 groups got into the same maze on the very first try.

First, I would like to thank everyone for their wonderfully informative posts about this event. It made it a lot easier. There are only a couple of things that were difficult to find, info wise, or questions that we had prior to the quest, that I would like to post about to perhaps help others.

The 3 people who are going to be leading the groups need to go to Adroha Jezith, the NPC in PoT, and say "tortured by nightmares" before you hail Thelin, or you can't get into the maze. Everyone else can talk to her afterwards.

When you get to Thelin in PoN, you can enter the maze by saying "I am ready." Just the group leaders should say this.

Inside the maze, you follow Thelin for a long while before you encounter any mobs, at least we did. When you do encounter mobs, crowd control and proper assisting is very important. We had a 65 enchanter, a 61 enchanter, and a 65 bard for mezzes and charms. The waves are larger and come faster toward the end.

The final mob is pretty easy once slowed. He has a lot of HP but doesn't cast a thing. People have said 400k hp, and i think that may be accurate. No-one died. There are some other mobs in the corners of the area he spawns in but they didn't aggro as we didn't get near them. I was almost oom at the end of the fight after being almost FoM at the beginning.

If you didn't talk to Adroha before the event (you weren't a group leader) you need to talk to her afterwards and then see the seer in PoK. You don't get an AA for this flag after talking to the dwarf in PoK. I guess that the Crypt of Terris Thule is considered a part of PoN.

Hope this helps!

Only new planes will give you charm stats or AAs. This means no subzones (PoNb, HoHb, CoDb) and one flag for multiple planes doesn't give multiple increases (PoV/S, PoE/A/W)
