I contacted the GMs/Support and they said it hasn't been found yet and to ask around on the various fan site (hah theres just this one) for help as they couldn't (wouldn't) tell me where it comes from. So anyone figure it out? The 'Gnoll Paw' doesn't work. Evidently it is still attached and its owner if following me all over Norrath.
They just need to fess up and say its broken then fix it. Unless they mean Fippy's Paw...

Hey, I did a little digging as I enjoy a nice "unsolved" quest hunt.
It is my belief that the follow-up quest he offers (using the Delivery breadcrumb) is for the Rodcet Nife Cleric newbie weapon (not really a stretch all the other newbie armor quests follow this template). This weapon would be item #27491 which does not exist, to double check I tried to spawn it on an emulated server and there is no data for that item#. I am also unable to find anything that leads me to believe the "Severed Gnoll Paw" exists in the item database.
From that I would safely say that this follow-up quest is nonfunctional as it seems both the reward as well as one of the components never made it into the game.

Ok So this done. The guy sent me on a task, deliver rations and pick up and return a report. Scout Mylitan ( spelling ) was not hard to find once some one said drop through the Gnoll Pup tree. Did this got the report and proceded to kill the higher lvl Gnolls till I got a Perfect Gnoll Skin. ( Flawless won't work ) I then found 2 severed gnoll feet and rushed my newly armored butt back to turn them in. BAH!! no dice, it turns out that I literaly have to have Severed Gnoll PAWS nope NO feet. I have never seen them. Through all of my toons, highest lvl 55, we've all been in and leveled in Black Burrow. Where are the PAWS and what drops them? Not feet, PAWS. And Why is there nothing on Severed Gnoll Paws in search here?

anyone know where i could find matted lon pelts? ive searched in WK for a while and havnt found any yet.. would be great to find out where the drop. could someone tell me where they drop please? thanks

I got mine in WK back in July, or August, on my first trip out there, in the area between Tower #2 and the Miller Farm. I don't remember if it dropped off a Lion, Lioness, or one of the young ones. I was hunting them all, because we also need a Lion Tooth (for the Gauntlets). It took me 5 trips to WK to get the Tooth. I'm not sure, but I don't think that the Pelt is NO DROP. So you might check with the WK merchants. Be persistent! :-)

The king snake jawbones can be found in north qeynos. I found several of them in a short amount of time by simply killing the snakes there. either the grass snake or the garder snake. Think the name of that second snake is wrong but there are only two snakes in that area so it wont be hard for you to find. Good luck all.

Has anyone tried the "delivery" quest here? You can give Scout Maitlyn the bag of rations and get the report, but Filian will take the report, and the rest of the items with the old "uh, thanks" and keep them without giving a rewared. The one thing I have noted is that he asks for "2 severed gnoll paws" but blackburrow gnolls drop "a severed gnoll foot". Is this quest bugged or what?
I tried it and got the same reaction you did and noted as well that I'd turned in Gnoll Feet instead of Paws. I was given one paw by an enchanter who swears the Paws drop in Black Burrow, but was told by another person OOC that the Paws dropped in S. Karana off the Splitpaws. After spending an additional 3 hours killing every kind of Gnoll imaginable, with no luck, I figure I'll give S. Karana a try next time I log in.
Just an update...no paws in S. Karana and the gnoll paws from Blackburrow (off the Shaman) do not work either. I'll try the gnoll paw off the gnoll in Surefall Glades and see if THOSE work and if not...[shrug]...anybody have any ideas on this quest?

I think this quest is bugged. I've never found a Severed Gnoll Paw, and Blackburrow has been my main hunting area for five different characters. I've tried this quest with the Report and 2 Severed Gnoll Feet (drops off many different BB gnolls and even some QH gnolls), and then with the Report and 2 Gnoll Paws (drop off BB Gnoll Shaman) and got the same results -- Fillian takes everything and gives you the standard, "... don't really need this, but thanks, I guess..." line. I've also made a Ranger character to try to find the SFG Gnoll poacher, and he's yet to show up on my tracking. I recommend submitting a petition and a bug report to see if that helps. In the meantime, check out the Cure for Lempeck quest -- took me two tries, but I got my Shining Star of Life! :-)

i looked for two days stright in wk for this stupid thing i finaly found it on a black wolf in the brown area next to some bandits the loc was 169.03, -5364.21 i hope this helps someone that is looking for it

Lock of Scarecrow Straw drops off the animated scarecrows at the Miller Farm in WK. I got mine over a month ago, and I was hunting there again, just this past week -- got 2 locks of scarecrow straw in about 6 kills -- seems like a pretty common drop to me. Also, it's not a NO DROP, so you might find it at one of the WK merchants -- check with the Millers -- they're merchants, as well as quest NPCs. Jawbone has got to be a bug, or Verant/Sony bust. I can't find them either. See the other posts here, too -- nobody has found them yet. Maybe you'll be the first! :) Thanks for your posts. :)

If this quest still uses the shadow wolf paw (it may have changed since I did the quest) they can be found in WK at approx loc -1198, -10358. about a 2 hour spawn and can be either 4 fire beetles, 2 black wolves or a grizzly. The paws drop from the black wolves interestingly enough.

I headed straight out to the coordinates (neg 1198,neg 10358) and sure enough, there was a black wolf standing there. Killed him...alas..no paw. Thought I'd poke around while I waited to see what (and when) would respawn. In about 15 minutes two black wolves spawned. Rooted one, killed the other,then killed the rooted one...second one had the shadow wolf paw on it.

I found mine this week, FINALLY, also in WK, just South of the path, and just West of the NK zone line! :) It dropped off a Shadow Wolf, during the day. I had been looking for this item for almost two months. Originally, I tried hunting in WK, but without a Ranger, Shadow Wolves were very hard to find in this HUGE zone. I killed about 5 in WK -- no paws -- so I went to EC. Killed about 200 there, more than 50 in the Misty Thicket, and still no paw. So, I returned to the Karanas, where one day on my way to NK, I killed a Shadow Wolf near the path, and VOILA! :) Now, if VI would give us some King Snake Jawbones (pls, pls, pls), I'd have the whole outfit! Please send in petitions and bug reports -- "the squeaky wheel, gets the grease!" Thx! :)
