Dok (General Supplies) may be found at +210, +275 in the shop called Dok's Cigars. He's on Find (Ctrl+F). He's on Merchants of Halas faction.

    You say, 'Hail, Dok'

Dok says, 'A fine day to ye, ______. Welcome to me shop. If ye're searchin' fer a [cigar], ye won't be findin' any, more's th' pity.'

    You say, 'What's a cigar?'

Dok says, 'I was hoping to perfect me creation I was callin' the 'cigar', but I'm afraid I just couldn't get it right. To keep from settin' meself on fire, I switched me talents to makin' candles. I could use help from a person such as yerself. Ye could [collect the wax] fer me - the candle-makin's.'

You say, 'I will collect the wax.'

Dok says, 'Grreatt!! Take this wax jarr. Head to any place ye can find the wee ones they call bixies. I'm afraid ye're going to hafta bash 'em and search to find out if they're carrying any honeycombs. If they are, then ye can fill the jar with them and combine them, then return the full honeycomb jar to me. I'll be givin' ye a special candle if ye can do that fer me.'

You receive an Empty Jar, a 6-slot TINY container that identifies as "Empty Jar for Honeycombs." Go hunt bixies in various zones and collect their Honeycomb. Combine six in the jar to craft a Full Honeycomb Jar, which you should return to Dok.

The Honeycomb (TINY) required for this quest drops off low level bixies in Misty Thicket, Commonlands and Kithicor Forest, and is not stackable. There's a different, stackable version of Honeycomb (SMALL) that drops off higher level bixies in Stone Hive, that one is for another quest.

A good place to farm the Honeycomb is in Misty Thicket, on top of the northern tower of the Great Wall of Serilis (use the ladder to get up), around /loc +650, +730 There are a few bixies up there and they respawn fast enough.

Dok says 'Great work!! Now I can make more candles! Here ye are, me friend. I call this the Everburn Candle. It has a wee bit o' magic in it. I hope ye like it.'

Your faction standing with Wolves of the North has been adjusted by 18.

I figured this item would be usable from an open inventory slot. Unfortunately it is not. It must be equipped in the secondary slot in order to cast light. For now, I will stick with my greater light stone.

You can find Dok at /loc 211.05, 275.14 in Halas, at the cigar shop SE of the Shaman Temple called Dok's Cigars. Entering, Dok will be standing to your south - hail him.

    You say, 'Hail, Dok'
Dok says, 'A fine day to ye, *insert character name*.
You say, 'I will collect the wax'
Dok says, 'Grreatt!! Take this wax jarr. Head to any place ye can find the wee ones they call bixies. I'm afraid ye're going to hafta bash 'em and search to find out if they're carrying any honeycombs. If they are, then ye can fill the jar with them and combine them, then return the full honeycomb jar to me. I'll be givin' ye a special candle if ye can do that fer me.'

He will give you an Empty Jar, a Lore, No trade container with six slots and a combine button. To gain honeycombs, travel to the Misty Thicket, East Commonlands or the Kithicor Forest (at in-game DAYTIME, unless you want zombie attentions) and hunt Bixies. Kithicor has the most of them, to my experience. Once you have six Honeycombs in the jar, press combine and return the finished full honeycomb jar to Dok.

Dok says 'Great work!! Now I can make more candles! Here ye are, me friend. I call this the Everburn Candle. It has a wee bit o' magic in it. I hope ye like it.'

Your faction standing with Merchants of Halas got better
Your faction standing with Wolves of the North got better
Your faction standing with Shamen of Justice got better
    You gain experience!!
You receive 1 platinum from Dok.

And you will now have received the Everburn Candle - a Magic, Lore, No Trade secondary slot item with SV. Cold +5 and SV. Poison +5, useable by all classes and races.
The monetary reward may differ; this was with a human Bard on 102 Charisma

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) YOU KNOW I HAVE NEVER EVEN POSTED ON THIS SITE NEVER EVEN REALLY LOOKED AT BUT IT SOUNDS KIND OF COOL AND INTERESTING I THINK THAT THIS IS GOING TO ATTRACT MORE EVERQUEST PLAYERS NOW I SAID I NEVER DONE THIS BUT I THINK IT IS PREETY COOL WHAT THESE GUYS ARE TRYING TO DO
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I AGREE WITH LINDEZ HE HAS SHOWED THIS GAME IDEAA ON HOW THE GAME CAN BECOME BETTER I HAVE AN IDEA NOW WHEN YOU START OUT YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING I MEAN THAT IS GOOD BECAUSE YOU GOTTA LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR SELP BUT YOU SHOULD GET MONEY AND AT LEAST A GOOD WEAPON
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I ALSO THINK THAT ANOTHER THING SHOULD BE CHANGED. THE WEAPONS AND ARMOR I AM A WARRIOR AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE WAY THAT IS SET UP FOR UP BUT SOME CLASSES ARE GETTING RIPED OFF THERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE ANYTHING THAT IS WHY I THINK ANYTHING AVAILIBLE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE NO MATTER WHAT CLASS OR RACE YOU ARE
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) THERE SHOULD BE A CHARACTER LIKE THE ONE LINDEZ CAME UP WITH A JELIOUS ELF BECAUSE I HATE GOING SOLO AND DIEING BUT WITH THIS CHARACTER I WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE MORE GM EVENTS TO BUT ON THE SEVENTH HAMMER SEVER THERE ISN'T REALLY ANY PEOPLE TO GROUP WITH AND I AM A MAGE AND ALL BUT FOR CLERICS IT GOTTA BE HARD THT IS WHY I AGREE WITH THE CHARACTER THEY CAME UP WITH TWO
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I TOTTALY AGREE WITH LINDEZ BECAUSE I AM A LVL 5 BECAUSE I KEEP HAVING TO MAKE A NEW CHARACTER BECAUSE ONCE I GET UP HIGH LVLS THEN I GET BORED SO I MAKE A NEW CHARACTER SO YOU NEED TO MAKE IT MORE EXCITING
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) THIS IS A REQUEST TO HAVE MORE GM EVENTS. BECAUSE THE GAME GETS BORING AFTER KILLING THE SAME THINGS.THAT IS WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE A BIG GM EVENT ON A SATURDAY (WEEKEND) AND TWO LITTLE EVENTS IN THE WEEK. SO THAT WAY THERE WOULD ALWAYS BE SOMTING NEW TO DO!
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2002 at 5:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) TO THE GAME MASTERS OF EVERQUEST.YOU SHOULD CONCIDER MAKING A NEW RACE. IT SHOULD BE ALL THE CLASSES PUT TOGHETHER.THAT WAY IT WILL BE ALOT MORE INTERESTING.LIKE THE OTHER MESSAGE LINDEZ SENT.IT WOULD MAKE EVERYTHING ALOT MORE INTERESTING TO EVERYONE.THEN EVERYONE COULD SOLO INTEAD OF GROUPING TO FIGHT. I HOPE YOU CONSIDERING TO DO THIS.THANKS FOR THE TIME.

If you check the quest info, it gives you a related quest. This is used in a paladin quest, as a component to gain a paly no-drop sword. I suppose you could use it as a light source, but since that's not why it was put into the game, why gripe about it, when you use it for something other than it's intended purpose?

the only problem i can foresee in doing this quest i having to go thru the karanas, high hold pass, and then kithicor. not very good areas for a lowbie to traverse. and by the time your big enough lvl to do this quest, you should already have a good light source, like a lightstone or greater lightstone. not a very well thought out quest IMHO.
    great!!!!

this quest is not bad at all if you were in misy to start why no go ahead take 15-20 minutes killin those little annoying bixies get 24 honey combs put then in the bank then if you ever need to go their before your a high level do the quest and you have to do no travelin or sell then to newbies to make a profit this quest isnt that bad at all

    I dunno

It's not the farthest a newbie has ever had to travel, and the light sourse is bright & adds minor save bonuses. Not too bad if you ask me.
    too far

awfully far to go for a light source

Its not only a light source, it also has resists, and being all/all thats pretty good although im sure there is better, there probably isnt better things you can attain at this level.
    It's not so bad
    # Jul 19 2000 at 2:17 AM Rating: Decent
Collecting honeycombs is easy, especially in Misty Thicket. The reward for six honeycombs is OK and the faction adjustments are always nice. This quest is for twinkers IMHO. Bixie honeycombs are not obtainable around the qeynos area. Once you can go to Misty Thicket to hunt them, you don't really need the everburn candle.

BYTW: The everburn is incrediby bright but you have to use up a hand to carry it.
