This was a Halloween event that ran in October 2002. I'm not sure if it's doable anymore.

Start by killing Ithiosar the Fallen. Then after he dies, a new, tougher dragon will spawn: Ithiosar the Black.

Need additional information on faction hits if any, fight information, how to spawn Ithiosar the Fallen (GM-spawn or player-spawn?), additional rewards, /loc of mobs, etc.

Ithiosor the Black's proc was curable by Abolish Disease. Of course, that was if you weren't dead from it by the time you got the spell off...

Ithiosar the Fallen and Ithiosar the Black were spawned in the caves leading to Trakanon's Teeth in the Swamp of No Hope.

Watch out for those scary, black, huge-teethed spermies, though! If you get them gone before you engage the dragon, you should have a much easier time with it.

Dunno where this rumor got started but you kill the fallen then you kill the black and that's it. No tougher versions and pretty much all the loot is horrible except the dragonscale bracers which are equal to wristband of thunder and weigh .1 and the dragon wing robe which did NOT drop from the dragon that spawned on Ayonae Ro. 45 of us killed him easily for almost nothing worth it...

This is a GM triggered Event somewhere in September, as the yellow messages lure people into the Swamp of No Hope. On Fennin Ro, some TMO (Time guild on Fennin Ro)People took charge and formed a huge Raid 72+ people and engage Ithiosar the Fallen (which looks like a Crystaline Dragon) after killing those pesty Reavers. The Fight lasted 30-40 Seconds with no deads on the good side. Ithiosar the Black Spawned and he is really much stronger, MT died just before the dragon dropped, and lot others too (due Disease Breath weapon, Resist, Resist!) But after 3-4 Minutes we slayed him.

Loot was as decribes as above but Ithiosar the Black dropped this too:
Fury Protection Ring, Lore, Nodrop
Slot:Fingers
AC 13, Str+5, Sta+6, Wis+7, Hitpoints+50, Mana+40, Sv ALL +5
Wt 0.5
Class: Pal
Race: All
SLot 1: Type 7

This was not the end of the Event some Mad Element took hostage some players and the raid pursuded them all over Norrath to get them free. When found in Dragon Nercopolis the end battle took place. We as force won, and was awarded ALL some random Rubicite Armor (Old CT stuff)

edit some typo and layout!

I was at the Death of Ithiosar the Fallen, and the Black the other night. someone OOC'd and said he could be used to bring back the Sleeper? I mean wouldn't Farming the sleepers guards for armor be better than killing this dragon for giggles?

"This dragon is definatly on the higher-end of Kunark Dragons. Much harder then Faydeder, or Trakanon for that matter. I would suggest a good 5 groups. (55+). He has a 1200DD + a massive Disease based dot (does over 175hp a tick, and lasts several hours)."

Thats what Radient Cure 3 does this dragon seems to be a waste of time for 3 groups of 65's he would drop, if most of the elite guilds can do PoT with 18 this dragon would be yard trash.

Ithiosar Up on Inny today
# Sep 23 2003 at 10:44 PM Rating: Excellent
Earlier today Ithiosar was up about 40 people showed up in a few minutes. From what they all said he is a GM spawned scripted event. Not a GM event persay but a GM triggered Event. We took out his first form Ithiosar the Fallen with ease. His second form Ithiosar the Black wiped us out, we had mostly 60+ and a few 50-60's. We gave it our all but there were not enough of us to take him out.

Of the first spawn all that dropped was a Pain Fury Sash...and not a single necro in the raid.

Second form was lead away as we were getting slaughtered and despawned. I was on of the lucky few that survived. So really we got nothign for this event. But I did get some nice screen shots of a Dragon most will never see yeah me :)

This dragon spawned on Tunare tonight. In under 30 min over 50 people was in the zone. Some just to watch. They should have joined in, cause the AE killed some of them. The raid was quickly put together, and half buffed when we attacked. First form went down easy enough. I can't say how much of a fight the second form put up cause I died on his first AE. He still went down. Hurray for Tunare.
Let the Rumors Cease

I was sitting on my bazaar mule trying to sell some old stuff and i got some yellow spam about the hairs on the back of my neck standing up and a chill down my spine. Someone in guild asked if anyone else got it about the same time the OOC's in the bazaar went off. Second spam was something about a swamp, so trackers all over the server went out to check the swamps, and sure enough, the first dragon in the cycle was up right where the guy earlier (the one you idiots flamed to awfull) said he was.

A pick up raid formed since it was roughly 2:30 pm central and not many ppl were on, and we set to buffing, setting up CCH and so on. Cleared the black tadpoles and set up to engage.

First dragon was a little harder than trak, AE 1200 DD that dotted (i was playing a cleric in CCH, so didn't notice the dot dmg) People in group said they resisted it at about 250 MR and DR (not sure which was the check)

We dropped him, about half the raid wiped and then about another 25% died due to dot. Rezzed, buffed, and we were looking at a second dragon (don't remember his name) that was a ghostly purple color in the exact spot the first one was. Only loot from first kill was the rogue belt.

Got set to engage with a force of roughly 35 people, avg lvl 62 or so, 5 CHealers, 3 or 4 7K hp+ tanks, and a ton of random DPS (3 or so EQ, AM3 rng, 5 MB wizzies, etc)

Fight lasted about 3 minutes or so, everyone unloaded all we had, and we wiped with about 65% hp left on the dragon.

Here's the crappy part: he Despawned. event over.

so we rezzed, and Mass TL to bind and that was it.

This event IS GM spawned, it's not only on Halloween, a group of 65's, or even 2 groups of 65's, i don't cae if it's Fury's Edge, Afterlife, whatever, could not do this event.

For the utter difficulty of this event, the loot sucks, just get ready to have a good time with a bunch of people and hope to acomplish something hardly anyone playing this game will ever get to see.

Um... This is a kunark dragon right, so I don't see why you can't just take 3-4 groups with high DPS and kill him in like 10 seconds... 32k hps is NOT MUCH when your talking 20-30 people...
RE: Doability
# Nov 01 2002 at 10:51 AM Rating: Decent
This is a "Kunark dragon" but not a "Kunark era dragon". This is a new event. The first dragon is supposed to be only about as tough as Trak, but drops only ok loot. The second is tougher than Trak and drops better loot.

I don't know how far this goes or what spawn what loot drops from. Suffice to say none of this is "easy loot", but the appeal is obviously that this is an outdoor zone that's easy to get to. No clearing a whole dungeon to get there, and I see this being something that a whole lot of zerg raiders will try.

Of course, I have no idea if they will succede :)

Questions: Is the first dragon triggered or timed? It was up in SoNH last night on 7th so I stopped by to look. Kinda cool looking. You can safely wander by if you keep to the opposite wall (right wall from TT and left wall from SoNH).

Also, how tough are the guards ("black ravengers", I think)? Are they worth pulling even if you don't have the force to take the dragon?

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 28 2002 at 7:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this guy is a triggerd mob BY A GM. the only way to get this thing to happen if for a GM to activate the spawn cycle. the forst dragon is nasty enough he has a 1200 poison based AE and if that doesnt kill you the Black Ravengers (lvl 55+) that are around him will. he spawns in the cave to TT on the little ledge area that used to have outcaste iksar on it now the only thing there on povar is Black Ravengers and dead PC corpses. OH and as for 5 groups 55+ one poster said no keep going higher when i saw this guy we had aboout 50 people and noone was under 55 from what i saw. everyone died. My self at the time being only 28 didnt stay but when i heard what happend i came back for a look see. Not a soul was left standing and then it hit me at lvl 28 i think i lasted about half a second i didnt even get a chance to see the dragon up close.

# Nov 01 2002 at 10:54 AM Rating: Decent
Triggered by a GM? That seems like a bit of a waste. Also, it was up on 7th last night, and I imagine GMs were more busy prepping for this weekend rather than going around spawning random dragon encounters.

I would expect there to be a quest that activates this spawn, but no one was talking on 7th....

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 08 2002 at 10:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeup, as suggested, nothing there yet for bards, and, my guess, is that nothing is going to be added for bards. *Shrug* Well, there goes your AE resists.

"nothing for bards, well there goes your AE resists" thats a pretty selfish attitude. not every raid you attend will have rewards for you. can you imagine if the members of a guild just stopped going to a plane because they were full planar in that plane? eventually the rest of the guild would be out of luck because there wouldn't be enough people for a raid. you wouldn't fit into my guild and probably many other raiding guilds that realise the potential of getting EVERYBODY equipped so they can raid bigger and better sones.

Well, bards aren't the only thing needed on raids and sometimes they aren't neccesary but it is very good to have a couple. While there might not be an item listed for bards doesn't mean the dragons don't drop a bard item. Maybe the dragon ring hasn't been completed yet and one of the later dragons drops a bard belt/ring. As you can see there are no paladin items listed either, that doesn't mean I won't go, I'll be going to one of these for the sheer experience of being on this raid as well as helping other classes get items they might need.

RE: one thing to say
# Mar 26 2003 at 5:15 AM Rating: Decent
Aye, I have to agree that MB is a very powerful tool when used in the right situation. Granted it got nerfed somewhat, by limiting it to one mob can only be MB'ed once a minute, but that imho was necessary to prevent a bunch of MB wizzys (not a few, but lots) from just going and farming semi-uber mobs (under 150k hps). The abilities don't make a toon a good player, skillz do. And a skilled player finds useful and creative ways to use what he has to accomplish a goal. And a skilled wizzy with MB can be an incredible assest to a group or raid. Just because you don't use an ability or spell alot of the time doesn't that it is useless, only you need to find when and where it is useful and use it then. Ex for MB: on a raid and mob is almost dead, like having no red on its hp bar and dying and most of the raid is wiped. Instead of casting a DD spell that might get resisted or pull aggro and not kill it, I would use MB to make sure it died and be happy that despite most of my group/raid dying, the mob was killed. Besides, it is really nice to get the kill message on uber mobs Smiley: grin
Raid Sized Encounter?
# Aug 07 2002 at 9:40 PM Rating: Default

Well for a "raid sized" encounter the drops are pretty much crap. If you have a "raid sized" group going you're probably more likely to go after something in SSRA, Grieg, Akheva or even some of the old world places and kill Tormax, Yelinak or Dain. Some will argue but franky it boils down to this
1) Running out into the *** end of nowhere for 1 mob = total waste of time for a "raid sized" encounter when the drops are this bad.
2) If you are able to take down this one mob you should be spending time taking out the sleepers key dragons, NToV, SSRA, Griegs, Akheva, Dain, Tormax, Yelinak and other various mobs which drop better loot. Hell, the SSRA Emperor's key ring is better than any one of these rings that drop.

No insult here but, it's kind of nice being able to go to a place with a raid group and setup without any concerns then go for the fight.

As for "nowhere", getting to swamp is a quick hop to EJ and a short run from there though TT.

As the dragons get tougher, you can choose what level you will fight to then just back off and leave with what you looted so, for some guilds, this would be an awesome place to train up for the bigger areas you list and where you have to be fully coordinated in your efforts.

Tough fight? Sure but I'd say going for your ST key is a tad tougher than this one..

Loot isn't bad and, as a training tool for dangerous grounds raiding, this encounter would seem to me to be ideal.

RE: Raid Sized Encounter?
# Aug 09 2002 at 6:52 PM Rating: Decent
I fail to understand... the description says after each kill, a new, tougher dragon spawns in it's place. So you're not killing just 1 dragon, you're killing as many as you and your friends can survive taking out. It's like the Luclin quests, sort of, in that you take care of 1 "wave" of creatures, and soon another takes it's place until you're simply no longer able to slaughter like mad (though in this case, it's a single creature at a time).

It sounds like fun to me - aside from hapless newbies getting killed. Besides. I know a Chanter who'd really love that ring. 8D And that robe. Personally, I'd rather go up against this string of dragons than ponder heading to Ssra.
RE: Raid Sized Encounter?
# Aug 09 2002 at 1:28 AM Rating: Decent
At first glance you could say that the items are not that good. But if you notice most of them are rings and belts. I checked Allakhazam's list of belts and rings and many of these items are in the top 20. Sure there are better items in the game but that does not make them any easier to get.

Further research into the beastiary shows there are some new high level mobs which are making the iksar newbies life hell. Way to go VI, many quests are done in this zone and now it is very dangerous to attempt them.
Dont panic!
# Aug 06 2002 at 8:55 PM Rating: Default
It may just be that noone has had a cleric or paly item drop just yet...judging by the loot there may be a ring, girdle, and BP for each class, not just one loot per class. Time will tell.
RE: Dont panic!
# Aug 07 2002 at 6:07 AM Rating: Default
There IS a Pally belt...one of the Paladins from Nexxus of Faith on Torv was awarded it after they dropped the Fallen a weeks or so ago(Grats NoF BTW, wtg on a server first).
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 06 2002 at 8:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) cry about bards and pallies all you want how about clerics not one of those things are for a cleric you know the person that keeps most groups alive. wis items are easy to find but factor that we need AC like a warrior then it gets tougher.
