You say, 'I am a ranger of tunare' Samatansyn Flamecaller says 'Excellent Taniana, then lets get started! Here is your Trueshot Assembly Kit. You will collect various items from the Faydark and Clan Crushbone that will be necessary for creating your armor materials in your assembly kit. Once you have fashioned together a specific armor material you can then take it to a forge along with the applicable pattern to create your Trueshot Chainmail armor piece. Simply tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft and I can provide you with the material recipes and patterns for Trueshot Chainmail [Coifs], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Legplates], [Gauntlets] and [Tunics].' You say, 'I want to craft a gauntlet' Samatansyn Flamecaller says 'To create your gauntlets material you will need to combine 3 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Orc Ulna, 1 Orc Tibia, and 2 Orc Finger Bones in your assembly kit. I dont know about all servers but on E'ci most the orc nodrops are quite easy to find with the exclusion on an orc fibula and a couple more. Happy hunting. 8)

I don't know if it will be the same on all other servers, but on the Veeshan server, i luckily found 2 ulnas in Crushbone in about a half hour. i got them off of mere low-level centurions right outside the foyer at the entrance. I thought i was pretty lucky after reading all the other posts, but i just happened to run upon 2.
also, in Steamfont, just about every merchant i ran into was selling crude bronze really cheap. i went there trying to get my servos for the Longbow quest, and i got this surprise. Good luck!
oh yeah, and if anyone on Veeshan wants to by my extra ulna, (hehe) i will happily sell it.....or i'll be a nice guy and donate it. Look me up!

After long hours of trying to find these, after yesterday's patch, I came across an orc ulna that dropped off one of the wimpy orc cents right in the entry foyer of CB. Of course, I had long since bought my ranger Dark Mail Gauntlets, but may bring him back by to get the ulna and complete his Trueshot set for nostalgia. I don't know how frequent the drop is, but seeing one at all leads me to believe they fixed the ulna drop defect with their big patch.

IMHO this is not considered a newbie quest if you have to travel into the heart land of the most hated of all enemies and try to kill a uncommon spawn to get a rare drop with even the gaurds wanting to kill you. NOT exactly what I would suggest to any newbie. But I did find my ulna on a scout in Neriak..had to kill 8 of them to do it and died 4 times due to the gaurds. I do not know if they are in Faydark..I have slayed orcs a thousand times thru and have not found it. I suggest to get some splitpaw hide gloves..better DEX and WIS for only 5pp in the tower near the NK spires..but that's just my opinion..it does look kinda dumb with brown gloves and green armor )

Well, I gave up I bought a better pair of gloves from all the orc farming I did. I killed the scoutsman no less than 10 times (painful waiting for spawns) and scouts in forest as well. By then I had the 30pp needed for black mail gauntlets at the bazaar. Quite a snipe hunt Verant sent us on.

I have killed a lot of kinds of orcs around crushbone for about 5 hours and I have yet to see a orc ulna. Can anybody help me where else can I buy them or kill some orcs to get the ulna?

Bah, the ulnas only drop off the orc scouts (in Nek Forest).

You can find ulna on legos on which servers? More importantly where can you find the ulna on the Bristlebane server. I have killed every orc imaginable trying to find one.
I've killed a whole heck of a lot of Legionnaires and I have never seen an ulna drop from one. One of my friends says she saw one drop off a centurion on the trainer hill once. I can't verify that, but it might be worth checking out.

I've killed around 30 Deathfist scouts in Nektulos, still no luck finding this thing. Argh, I keep getting foot bones.

I finally got an ulna from a Deathfist scout in Nektulos. I must have hunted them for about 8 hours overall. But the ulna did work for the gauntlets.
A little tip for anyone planning to sail over to Nektulos... park yourself at the halfling camp while tracking for scouts. No guards go near there, and the halflings will stop you from getting attacked by the skeletons, which will attack anything, even if they're waaay green to you.

Well this Mysterious Orc Ulna Does Not Drop on Cazic Thule Server.... Every single quest item for all these n00b quest ARE gotten from Gfay or a Surrounding zone such as CB, or BB. No reason to go to WC, or Nek forest to find an Orc Ulna ... not as a n00b doesn't make any sense. Nevertheless i have spent more hours looking for this Orc Ulna than it took me to get Soulfire as a paladin! So i'll say " Houston We Have A Problem ! ! !"

They knew it didn't drop correctly on the test server but didn't fix it then. Maybe if all rangers send in a bug report they'll do something about it.
Well I camped the Scoutsman for a while, never found an ulna. Every other type of bone you can think of, but no ulna. So finally I broke down and took a trip to Nektulos. Second scout I killed dropped the ulna. Now to start working on a Trueshot Longbow...

I have camped him for 3 days strait...NO ULNA...out of a possible 72 spawns I have killed him 34 times and been there to loot the corpse 4 more times with not ONE ulna dropping for anyone on the Brell Serlis server....way to go Verant...anyone got a pair of Iskar Scaled gloves for sale? I will pay fairly well for a lowbie!

I wouldn't camp the scoutsman in CB for the ulna since the scoutsman is for the Bard's final test. He drops the lute everytime because the lute is needed for the bard weapon.
I have yet to see the ulna drop, but I have noticed an increased rate of ribcages and more mobs dropping ribcages. Maybe ulnas will be next.

Verant really screwed the pooch on this one, as well as on two drops for the dwarf pally armor quests. So far, after over a dozen scout and scoutsman kills in Nektulos and Crushbone, I have yet to see a single ulna drop. Also found a spawn point for scoutsmen in Butcherblock, but those have only dropped the scoutsman wristpouch (one in CB drops the lute a lot, but have yet to see the pouch or ulna).

Does anyone know the spawn time for the orc scout in Nek? So far, I have only been able to stay long enough to track and kill the initial orc scout that's roaming around when I enter the zone. Just wondering how long between spawns after he is killed. My ranger is only level 13 and Nek makes him nervous because he is KOS with the guards and dragoons there.

Took me about 50 or so murderings of forest drakelings to get a pristine scale. I found, though, that they seem much less camped near the Felwithe newbie area, probably due to no newbie trackers starting off down there. I've also made it a point to track down any forest drakelings that I come across on general principal as my wife has characters that can also use pristine scales for their items and would likely have little chance of getting them on their own without tracking.

I have found everything except the Ulna. The lightstone appear to drop more common off of the willow wisp in EC. I am currently camping in the Nek Forest. People are saying they have seen alot of them drop off all the orc there, but i have killed at least 30 orcs and no luck.

According to folks on the forum for the Orc Slayer Bracer quest, orc ulna's drop from Deathfist orc scouts in Nektulos forest and these are able to be used for the Trueshot Gauntlets quest. I'm going to give it a go when I have enough time to wait thru the boat ride to Freeport. Before then, though, I'm likely to hunt microservos for my Trueshot Bow. Enjoy!

okay so i read this page and i took someone's advice and camped the scoutman, i just got off after killing him for like the 10th time which equates to 10 hours of camping him. He spawns in CB in the fire thing next to the cabin. He spawns exactly 1 RL hour after he was last killed. He still hasn't dropped the ulna. Always drops the stupid LUTE, one time he dropped six bones but none of them were the ulna. I've killed the Scout in Nek forest four times no bones at all, i found one pelvic bone on a DF Lego. The finger bones falls off the pawns on orc hill in gfay. I dont know the respawn rate on the Scout but i'll find out by the end of today. Now for the stupid prestine forest drakling scale, my god i hate trying to find this thing. i check vendors regularly i killed way over 100 draklings, i'm just pissed. But nontheless i'm going back in to check if the scout respawned. Good luck on this one. PS. i heard a higher lvl person who was camping crush and dvinn that they destoyed an ulna that they think fell off either the royal gaurd or maybe oracle, not sure about this one but they said thats what it dropped off ot.

There are still wisps around, just hard to find. I have yet to see an ulna, and I camped the scoutsman all day yesterday.
I did read that while this was still only on the Test server, the ulna never showed up. I wonder if they ever fixed that or not.

Er, the ulna not dropping was in reference to the scoutsman. I don't know if the Nek scouts drop them or not.

Has anyone seen these scoutsman that they are supposed to drop from, hae been looking for hours in both Gfay, cb and Nek, and no luck so far, plz help i am giong mad trying to find it!!!!!

The Orc Scoutsman that spawns in CB spawns on about a 1 hour timer in the round tent just outside the mine entrance, next to the cabin that houses the elven priest. He conned yellow to my 11th Ranger, but was soloable by my Ranger, albeit a very close fight and no adds.

Some merchants sell this stuff. I gut my pristine forest scale from one and they also have venom sacks and the bricks which.

i got all of the stuff i need except for the lightstone and the ulna.its pretty cool lokking i think i got the fibulas from dead bodsy from a group killing legos the bricks are easy enough to obtain but i think ill have to go to the commons for the lightston becuase i dont see wisps in gfay anymore.....

If you are too low level for CB, go to Steamfont and get bricks from the kobolds. They drop pretty often.

I finally recieved the Ulna off of an Orc (Deathfist) Scout in Nektulos forest, As someone stated before the bones here DO work, and are easier to find ecspecially with track. The ulna looks like a Femur/Humerus bone, but says ulna

OK I'm going to hate myself for this..but the orc scoutmen in CB spawns near/in the slaver caves. Do not know what triggers him but it is a LONG wait between spawns. Went hunting in nek today and found 10-12 orc scouts...none dropped ulna, got killed by the gaurds, the WHOLE deathfist lego camp AND the shadowmen. NOT WHERE YA WANT TO HUNT. Fibula's drop uncommon off slavers in the caves, the finger bones are ONLY outside in Gfay off cents. Tibula's are uncommon drops off pretty much any cent or higher in CB.

The worst part about the newby armor for the rangers is that the rarest ingredient in GFay is used for non other than the gauntlets. Therefor if you want 2 gauntlets you have to find this rare drop.....TWICE. My god what next?

Bracers are what you want two of, not the gauntlets. Bracers were easy to get hold of the ingredients. Just remember to make the first bracer before combining the material for the second as the resulting material sheet is lore.
