You say, 'Hail, Tilania Shadowwalker'

Tilania Shadowwalker says 'Greetings to you Lirla. I welcome you to the Scouts of Tunare training halls. I have seen many scouts pass through my halls with unimaginable abilities and daggers guided by Tunare herself. I cannot say for certain what the future has in store for you. But I can say that wherever your adventures may take you it is always wise to have the proper [training].'

You say, 'what proper training'

Tilania Shadowwalker says 'The training that I speak of is only intended for rogues of Tunare that wish to develop skills that will mold them into the most deadly assassins in all of the lands. If you are a [rogue of Tunare] then I will be happy to explain the training exercises to you. However, if you are not a rogue I suggest you seek training from another house.'

You say, 'I am a rogue of Tunare'

Tilania Shadowwalker says 'Excellent Lirla, let us get started then. Your training will test your fighting and gathering skills respectively, because of the items you will be required to gather all over the Faydark for [magical armor materials].'

You say, 'what magical armor materials?'

Tilania Shadowwalker says 'First things first, here is your Assassins Mail Assembly Kit. Inside this kit you will combine different magical items, which in certain quantities in your mail kit can create armor materials for specific pieces of Tunarean Scouts Armor. Once you have completed a specific armor material you can then place it in a forge with the applicable pattern to create your piece of armor. Simply tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft and I can provide you with the material recipes and armor patterns for [Coifs], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Legplates], [Gauntlets] and [Tunics].'

You say, 'I want to craft boots'

Tilania Shadowwalker says 'To create your boots material you will need to combine 3 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Basilisk Hatchling Hide, 1 Orc Hatchet and 1 Bottle of Milk in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Boots of the Tunarean Scout.'

Basilisk Hides

The Basilisk Hatchling Hides should not be the first item you set out to pick up in the newbie armor quest. I suggest being level 8 or higher before fighting these creatures as they prefer to stun and cast stone on your character, so even if they're white or blue they are tough opponents. Especially because they are found near the entrance to Crushbone. The last thing you want is four orc centurions and an oracle all attacking you while you're stunned. And be patient, the basilisk will eventually drop a hide. Took me 5-6 tries.

This is a very straightforward quest; the items can all be found logically on mobs throughout Greater Faydark.

Bricks of Crude Bronze are used for each piece of the Wood Elf Rogue newbie armor, and can be found inside Crushbone itself, or also on the Kobolds in Steamfont. The Kobolds are quite numerous, much lower in level, easier to kill, and all in one area. Unfortunately the bricks weigh 15.0 each, and do not stack.

Basilisk hatchlings can be found throughout Greater Faydark, but I had good luck finding them north of the orc lift, towards Crushbone entrance (before the orcs begin gettting *too* numerous). I had to kill 3 or 4 before I found a hide.

Orc Hatchets drop off of Orc Pawns in and around the newbie area near the POD/Newbie lifts. Orc Pawns also spawn in the north end of GFay (towards Crushbone) and inside CB itself, but I'm not certain they drop the necessary orc hatchets.

Bottles of milk can be purchased from Merchant Iiudarae on the newbie lift platform, neg 34 neg 134 and cost around 9 copper.

To find the forge in Kelethin: go up the newbie lift and walk across to the only platform that is connected via a wooden ramp going UP. The forge is right there for you. (Loc, neg 249, pos 62). There is no chance to fail the forged component.
