You say, 'Hail, Aliafya Mistrunner'

Aliafya Mistrunner says 'Pleased to meet you ______, I am Aliafya Mistrunner Preserver of Nature and loyal servant of Tunare. I have resided in this guild house for many of my years. I pride myself on being a mentor to many young druids of Tunare that come up through our ranks. If you are a [druid of Tunare] then I might have some work for you.'

You say, 'iI am a druid of Tunare.'

Aliafya Mistrunner says 'I am always pleased to see new faces amongst us indeed ______. However, I must learn if you are loyal to your house and your god by asking you to complete a series of training exercises. These tests will enable you to learn your way around this great land we call home and to pick up some very valuable hunting skills that will aid you in all of your battles to come. When you are [ready to begin your training] I will present you with your Leafrunners Assembly Kit.'

You say, 'I am ready to begin my training.'

Aliafya Mistrunner says 'Here is your Leafrunners Assembly Kit ______. In this kit you will place a number of [magical components] that will be infused together to create armor materials used to crafting Leafrunners Leather Armor. Once you have created the armor materials you will then take them to a loom along with the correct pattern to fashion together your armor piece.'

You say, 'What magical components?'

Aliafya Mistrunner says 'The components you will need to collect for your armor will take you to all parts of the faydark. These items can be found on some of the deadliest creatures and also on some of our most trust worthy merchants. Once you are ready to begin creating your armor pieces simply tell me what piece you [want] to craft. I can provide you with the material recipes and patterns for Leafrunners [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Leggings], [Gloves] and [Tunics].'

You say, 'I want to craft boots.'

Aliafya Mistrunner says 'To create your boots material you will need to combine 3 Woven Spider Silks, 1 Burned Out Lightstone, 1 Water Flask in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Boots of the Leafrunner.'

Woven spider silks also drop off the wooly spiders in Everfrost...just a heads up.
If you have a higher lvl..
# May 16 2004 at 4:56 AM Rating: Decent
Blue][/Blue] If you have a higher lvl char , it would be a little easier to get the pieces , simply pull the mobs close to where your druid is camped ( put it somewhere not-close to guards , but a find-able place ) and kill it , quickly camp and then log on to you're druid and loot.
I did this quest in 1 hour ( all the armor ) .
Goodluck!
Frustration....

I combined the items for the Leafrunner boots, I have nifty little scroll (which I assume is "the mold") and I have found the white loom. I cannot do anything though. Am I missing something? Please help.

If you cant get a loom to work or cant find one ( they are broken sometimes), you can use a small or large sewing kit instead also. This will work for any cloth or leather armor combine related to the newbie quests

fun and easy
# Mar 11 2003 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
I am now a level 7 Woodelf Druid and I have almost a full set of Leafrunner. It has been fun. If you can get a SoW buff at level 5, you can make money and get some of these items simply by running through the zone and looting dead orcs. You will get 3-10 CB belts that you can sell for 1pp each to "established" players looking to level their Twinkies. Then sell the other loot you dont need. After that you will find that if you check every vender in the tree city, you will be able to buy most of the other items you need.

If you have trouble with some of the bones, just go to CB and do a /occ from time to time listing what you need and ask for a tell if its seen. It had all of them in less than an hour, not to mention met a lot of nice people too.

I look forward to more quest this easy, fun and rewarding.
Burned out lightstone

How do you get a magic weapon - I have been looking for the lightstone for weeks. What kind of magic weapon is it.
Looms??
# Nov 19 2002 at 11:33 PM Rating: Decent
I can't seem to find a loom that works! I've tried all of em and nothing happens. I also tried a small sewing kit and it said "These items cannot be combined in this container."

The only loom that works is white, not green and is located on a platform to the right of the orc lift. Go over the two bridges, then up the ramp.

Oh, yeah! What are the ethical ramifications of Wood Elves killing the forest creatures for pelts?

I'm beginning to see a pattern here:If your soloing, when you only need one or two items, Verant makes them non-existant, forcing you to group. In that way if another makes the kill you have a chance to split and get the item they would never program onto the MOB if you were by yourself.
To finish the armor I need three more Orc Bones: Tibia, Rib Cage, and foot. I've probably killed a hundred of them and, guess what? If they drop a bone it's a finger bone, the one I already have.(Not to mention Tibias and Clavicles by the score.)
I suppose it could be an attempt to make the Quest a challenge but there is a fine line between challenging and depressingly frustrating!

OK, Just FYI at level 6 I went into CB and just /ooc for the parts I needed until I had all of the drops off the orcs. In about 1.5 hours I had all the orc bones and was 80% through level 7. So now it is off to get the coyote skull and burned out lightstone and prey a pristine drakeling scale drops some day for someone willing to give it away.
What Mold?

I am trying to start this armor quest. I am only a lvl 3 Druid in Kelethin (have a 13 Ranger in Surefall but it seems a Druid makes for a better soloist.)Trying to stay alive in Faydark as a naked Newbie is impossible!
Anyway, I have 2 questions: 1. Aliafya says to put the ingredients in the assembly kit and take it and "this mold" to the loom. I don't understand what she means by "this mold".
2. I noticed at a shop that some insect wings are designated "tiny". Does that imply that, as a Wood Elf who wears medium armor, I must find Medium ingredients?
I'd sure appreciate any feedback. These Orcs are murdering me and, at lvl 5 it will become extremely detrimental to level up.
RE: What Mold?
# Oct 12 2002 at 8:37 AM Rating: Decent
Question number 1: As you are talking to her and say the magic words, she should hand you a mold to use.
Quetions number 2: The size of an item is what type of container it fits in. Tiny items fit in any container, wheras a large item will not fit in a small bag or wrist pouch which are small and timy respectively.

When I tried to do this quest it would not let me combine the items, so I never got to do this one. Good luck, I hope it works our for you!

webs are not woven
# Aug 29 2002 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
just a clarification - spiders give off both spiderwebs and woven spider webs (they are 2 different items!) the woven ones look like a rope and GFay does have spiders that carry both types. - dont try to put spiderwebs inn the container cause it wont combine.
the easy way, but involves travel

Got my boots at level 5, but decided to run over to East Commonlands to get the burned out lightstone because there are too few wisps in GFay and everyone seems to be looking for them at this point.

Level 5 is a good time to do this because you get the camo spell (good for running past centurians and wandering ogres in BB), as well as gate, so you can easily return to Gfay after getting the lightstone... if you so desire.

Spent about a minute in EC before I came upon a dead wisp, and voila -- had the boots (took the pattern and other ingredients along). Also picked up some fire beetle eyes for myself and other deprived GFay druids. This is a really quick trip if the gnome teleporters are at the docks, but all in all, much easier than shouting around GFay for a silly 'no drop, no rent' item.
problems (
# Aug 02 2002 at 10:15 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all
I`m having a problem with this series of quests I do everything it says to do in these posts.
Ive got
3 woven spidersilks
1 burned out lightstone
1 water flask

I put the 3 items into the Leafrunners assembly kit and it gives me a message along the lines of. Cannot combine these tyhings in this container or something like that.
I also have the boot patern from NPC
I destroyed the kit and the boot pattern and went and got the kit again and the cap pattern , put all the items for the cap pattern in the Leafrunners kit and the same message come up.
I am a wood elf druid and my level is high enough.
Is there something that im doing wrong.
Any help would be appreciated

don't put the pattern in the container. Keep the container out, put the rest in, and hit combine
RE: problems (
# Aug 02 2002 at 1:54 PM Rating: Decent
Make sure nothing is stacked. You can't combine stacked items. Everything needs its own slot.

# Aug 02 2002 at 10:37 PM Rating: Decent
DOH! havnt tried again yet , but i had the woven spider silks stacked, so I guess thats it :)

Im actually lvl 32 and some of this stuff on the newbie quest is better than what I have. The reason being that I basically have to spend every plat I make on spells. I did the shakey the scarecrow quest in rivervale, and got the wee harvester and the belt of the river. Because I`m a woodelf I cant equip either of these items. Is there a quest I can do around my lvl that I can get something similar to the rivervale quests? I can only search this site for quests by zone and I find it hard to find a good druid quest.

Thanks for the help on the newbie quest, I better log on and get to it.

Wisps are around level 11 - 12. You should be able to handle them when the con yellow. Just make sure you have a magic weapon...

A lot of early-to-mid teen level players in EC love to massacre wisps, and most have no need for the burnt out lightstones (which drop almost every time). Particularly since the corpses glow and stick out at night, it shouldn't take long at all to find one. Just watch you don't go TOO far, EC isn't very safe at night for players until lev 10 who stray too far from the guards...

do you need....
# Jul 26 2002 at 10:51 AM Rating: Default
To do this do you need any tailoring skill?
RE: do you need....
# Jul 26 2002 at 11:33 AM Rating: Decent
No tailoring skill required. Use a sewing kit not a loom like she says. Orc centurions and better will drop bones. Woven silk comes from the widows of all sizes(red/black spiders). The rest you should be able to figure out on your own.

Pawns in the newbie area are the best place to get the finger bones
