The quest does work....make sure you get Desert Tarantula Hairs as listed in the text, not Desert Spiderling Hairs as listed in the Quest items. Then it's luck of the draw on finding some. We went through many Desert (not Dune, which are harder to kill and deadlier) Tarantulas before we finally came up with Desert Tarantula Hairs. The giant rattlesnake skin and medium quality cat pelt were, for us, a little easier to come by (try the merchants in the fishing village).
We were just about to conclude that it was a bug and there were no Desert Tarantula Hairs until we finally found some. Did the combine, and now I'm wearing it at lvl 10!

I can instruct you on how to prepare your suit of clothing but you will have to acquire the required materials yourself. Use this Curing Kit to construct the clothing once you have done so. Do you wish to prepare Coalition Trader [Gloves], Coalition Trader [Boots], a Coalition Trader [Bracer], a Coalition Trader [Cap], Coalition Trader [Leggings], Coalition Trader [Sleeves], or a Coalition Trader [Tunic]?' You say, 'I wish to prepare a Coalition Trader Tunic' Verona Rankin says 'To craft a Coalition Trader Tunic you require four [silk thread], a medium quality cat pelt, a desert tarantula hairs, and a giant rattlesnake skin. This is true i also have tryed this quest several times and it does not work

I believe there is also, I cannot even get the Tattered Tunic lore item to do a combine.

I got most of these pieces. however, there seems to be a bug with the Tunic. I canot combine the items as listed..
